Good morning mamas...
Thanks a lot for your input yesterday...
The immunisation went well, I gave him 2.5ml of paracetamol drops immediately after and at night... There was no fever at all, up till now, but he was very cranky, refused to eat, and even vomited once...
Thank you so so much...
I'm really grateful...
God bless you... [/quote
Thank God it went well
but is 2.5ml for 6weeks old baby not an overdose cos from d ones I very seen its 0.4ml (40mg) for 0-3months.
I stand to be corrected share.

Good morning mamas and Happy new month...
Please, I'm sorry this question is coming late.

My bubba's 6 week immunisation is this morning, and I heard it's advisable to administer paracetamol before getting it done.

Please, how long before the immunisation and what quantity do I administer?

For Pentas right? Is it necessary to administer paracetamol cos I hard it reduce d efficacy of d immunization taken, but if d baby react to d immunization that is when pcm is advisable to be administered. meanwhile if u want to give d baby pcm I think is 0.4ml for less than 3months baby and it d drop version u give not d syrup. hope this help.

Pls mamas contribute cos its urgent as d immunization is this morning.

Note: Pls don't rub/massage d site.
also people advise not to bathe baby after d injection, I don't buy dat idea, bathe ur baby and nothing will happen.
constant breastfeeding today cos baby go cry well well.
Soothe him by strapping him on ur back.

Good day mamas, please I need your experience on this matter. My 10months DS is super active and once we are outdoor he loves to be freed because stay indoors mostly . We went for a church programme yesterday and after holding him for an hour plus he cried to be free and rejected all toys because he wanted to play around and people started looking at our direction as he was joyfully playing around laughing and screaming. Two men out of the people sitting close to us scolded him and told us it is too early for him to want to have his way and he love to play too much. That we should be beating him and not letting him play alot because if we don't correct him at this age it will be difficult later. I and hubby felt bad and embarrassed at the end of the programme. Please, I need advice or suggestions on how to curtail his activeness.
Abeg don't mind them o, my DS is also 10months old and he does same thing. He always want to be free whenever we r outside/church. U need to see how children play in d church cos the nursing mothers sit at d back.
To hell with anybody that give me that kind of advice o.
Am not sure they have growing up kids at home.
And na their children they rot/spoil pass.
my advice is for u to always sit at d back there is nothing u can do to curtail him at dat stage.

I just read about mummy Zaynie's method now that it can be fermented before grinding.
Though I do both i. e the normal pap and the dried one. but I soak mine for 24hrs cos of smell.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by comtem2011: 9:49pm On Jul 20, 2016
soonest:
Does it not need to be fermented? Will boiling water be enough to cook it? Or will it be prepared like watery semo? Sorry for my many questions
No need to be fermented cos u will not soak it, just washing.
Yes like watery semo/custard. just d normal way pap is prepared but pls cook for like 2 mins for babies. Adult can take d normal one prepared only with boiling water.
In fact, u can add dried sweet potato, groundnuts to d grains u want to grind.
It is easy to preserve, no need of changing water everyday.
Can also be prepared as solid for the family Like wheat or semi.

How about the chaffhuh Grinding dry is not an issue but how to take out the chaff whilst in dry form? I'm interested in it too but cants seem to find how to go about the sieving undecided

Some guy advertised the powdered form a while back and I've been meaning to contact him but not convinced of its hygiene.
Cc barag
it's not necessary but if u want to sieve, just d normal sieve for Elubo (powdered amala).
It will just be like wheat powder so for me I don't sieve cos d chaff has its own nutrients.

Good morning mamas in the House. I'm a ftm with a baby who wld b 7 months in a week time. I started her on cerelac but now I want to make pap for her. I just want to ask if I can grind d millet/guinea corn into powder instead of d normal way it is done ie grinding with water and sieving. does anyone make her's like this? how did u do it? pls make una no vex say na question I take introduce myself o. thanks.
cc: zaynie Dr Ada and other sabi mamas

by d way zaynie and goldenruby I enjoy reading Ur diaries.

no payment of dues here abi?
Yes u can, but make sure the grains are thoroughly washed because of sand, then u sun-dry for days. Take to engine that grind dry things.

Preparation: Fetch d quantity u want and add cold water to it.
Pour already boiling water, stir and u can put back on fire if its for baby. But adult can take like that.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much Mamas... Your word goes a long way in making me feel better. This cross is heavy but I pray the Holy Spirit help me to carry it and comfort me. I will stay strong for his son. I pray that may the peace of God reign in our country so that his death will not be in vain. Continue to rest in peace, my dearest husband... I will always miss you. I know when your son hears this story, he will be proud to say his dad laid his life for the peace of this country. Even though you lived a short life, you touched the life of so many people. The time we spent together was so short but it was as if we have spent eternity together. You were a loving and caring husband and father. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Almighty God, my gallant officer.....@babythug, soonest, alphahandmaiden, liftedhands, zaynie, madameU, everfaithfulGod, stadora, rezzy, joysa, Jennifer89....I appreciate you Mamas.

He's hot na. That's why he's sweating.

The weather might be okay to you but it's warm/humid for him. grin this happens to my hubby, son and I. Hubby think house is cold and wants the heating on, meanwhile son and I are both feeling hot and we want the windows wide open. grin

So it's best you get a standing fan, A/C or open the windows.

Is his bed sheet cotton or silk or polyester? Cotton might be best for him as the rest might be one of the reasons why he sweats so much.
Ma, the window is always opened but with curtain down, though curtain is light, but the ventilation is okay.
Only on his back, we sleep on the same bed and bed sheet is cotton stuff. though we sleep under mosquito net, but I don't think that should be d cause.
Actually I closed d window that is directly to us for d fear of inhaling too much cold @nite. But now, I will be opening it at time.
Thanks ma.

Maybe you change his sleep wear to a body suit with socks. Have a light flannel on hand so if it gets cold you cover immediately. Are you sure the room is airy enough?
He sleeps with body suit and trouser with socks.
I always have d flannel @hand. but cover him for 5 mins, he will be sweating on his hand.
Yes the room is airy enough, and now he has been battling with cold (cough and cattarh) for two weeks.
The sweat is only on his back, that's d reason for my worry.

Personally, I think 10months is too early.

Milo is too sweet and it's also fattening. Your baby might end up preferring it to water.

I think it's best you wait till he's a year+ before introducing it.

I didn't even think of this option at all. Hmm, maybe wait on the Milo till you have ensured baby likes water? I know some mums start with juice and wean to water. Save your money, babe, water is cheaper than Milo.
Good morning senior mummies. Pls don't read and pass.
Pls how many ml of water shud I give my ds? He's 15days old and on formula. He takes 1 scoop (30ml) of formula. He feeds up to 6 times in 24hrs.
Ps: my bm refused to come out. I've used breast pump, I've drank all d pap and tea in benin, yet, all I get is few drops of bm. cry
/quote]Follow d instruction on the can, d guidelines are always there.
Pls, rest is all u need to make ur BM flows properly. like me pap doesn't have effect on my BM production but watermelon and lots of water did d trick for me. Keep nursing and have enough rest.
from my research, reason for taking pap is becos it can easily be taken unlike water that if not thirsty, its always difficult to go down at times. Taking liquid is just d main thing but not necessarily pap or tea.

In another news, my baby has been down with cold (cough and cattarh) for d past two weeks now, so this morning I called d family Dr and he advised against the use of Eucalyptus Oil for steaming, (it works but d effect doesn't last) that I should use ordinary hot water fr his steaming, and true to his claim I can see d different after using ordinary hot water.
Just saying this for other mamas to try.
