Good, our mothers r trying their best but we have to let them know that most of their styles no longer work.

I stood my ground when my MIL wants to be applying different things on my baby's skin and I refused when she wanted to give him agbo. Mothers understand their baby more than anybody.

My ds is one week old and before we left the hospital, two doctors came to check him for traces of jaundice and they said he doesn't have it. But before we left, i noticed his eyes are a bit yellow. I insisted that he should be checked but everyone around said if he has jaundice it'll show in his skin.
My mum got some herbs to use to wash his skin yesterday. She said it will clear the jaundice if he truly has it. She wanted to give him to drink but i and dh refused.
This morning i noticed if i touch his skin and remove my hand, it'll be yellow. Should i take him to the hospital for test and treatment? Mum doesn't want me to. Said the herbs is better.
This is my first child and i don't want to make mistakes. I just feel so bad that he's not okay

Pls don't feel bad, stand ur ground take him to d hospital. Am sure u r even there now, pls follow ur instinct on ur baby and do what is right for him.

Hello sabi mama, happy holiday.
Pls my ds 14weeks immunization was last Tuesday. When I got to the clinic, the security men said no clinic because of public holiday. Immunization is done every Tuesday and Thursday. Since there's holiday today too, I'll have to wait till next week Tuesday. Then D's will be 15weeks 4days old. Google says one shouldn't miss the immunization. I hope it won't have any effect. Really, nurses shouldn't be having holidays. I use SOS clinic center

we were told immunization can still be given after 2 weeks, 2 weeks grace dey for bobo.

mama Ekene and mum cherrymum1 dats d exact predicament I'm facing with my dd. Frequent poo bt not watery. I had 2buy diastop yestdy afta emgyl did not work cos I am seriously tired of cleaning poo alwys .This has been on 4abt 3weeks now,and my dd usually poos once in 3days b4 dis. I gave her d diastop at nit bt dnt knw how many times I'm suppose 2giv within 24hrs. Though d pharmacist wrote 5ml 3tyms daily,bt after reading d leaflet wia it clearly states 4kids 3yrs n above, nobody told me 2reduce d dosage 2 2ml since dd is Jst 16months old. I've kept wondering wat cud b d cause of it. Jst introduced cerelac 2her meals n she likes tea lik mad. I use peak 123 n bounvita. Thinking of stopping them 4now.

if u read d instruction well, u she see 4-6 hrs. Pls keep baby hydrated as u r given d diastop. ORS is very important.
CC: LiftedHands, Cherrymum1, I experienced same thing with my DS when he was about 7 months, his came with mucus and this greenish colour, we took zinc along with ORS, after 2 weeks, I have to take him to d hospital for proper checking and blood test. we were given flagyl after one week again, I opted for diastop and I prepared scent leaf soup for him. within two days, I got positive result after 4 weeks of frequent stooling. Diaper almost finish for where dem dey produce am.

I was using peak123 then but what I suspected was infection cos we went somewhere slept over and d second day we started battling with unstoppable stooling.

To d mama that once had ruptured uterus, I have someone with same experience when she was 8mths pregnant, she almost passed out but God revived her now she is a mother of 2 Gallant Soldiers (4 & 2 years handsome bobos) so relax ur mind dear, The living God that did her own is still in the business, continue to praise him for this wonderful seed he has planted in ur womb cos u will surely harvest it.

Since he is 4 mths, 1ml is okay i.e 1 dropper full, as u r giving pls frequent BM should be given also. read on how many times a day to b given on d leaflets.

My 4mth baby is also experiencing such for 2 weeks plus now BT d doc told me not to use d diastop since fragile didn't work .he said stoping a child stooling at times is not good so he recommended zinnat an antibiotic wich my baby has bn using for 4 days nw n still no positive result

Pls keep the baby hydrated. do u know that frequent stooling is dangerous? seek second opinion o. My DS was stooling for almost a month before I laid my hand on diastop and I got positive result within 2 days. Flagyl refuse to work, but diastop did.

Since baby is 14weeks, 1ml is okay, use that baby drop (full).

I read drug leaflets as if I want to write exam as over and over again even as am administering it. kaolin light is d active ingredient in diastop, its an old method of stopping diarrhea in d olden days by Asian country, and its very effective. if d baby is less than 3 yes, 2.5ml is recommended and child must be well hydrated as in giving fluid (ors/BM) from time to time. I used flagyl but it didn't work, v to opt for diastop and I didn't regret it. Flagyl is not for less than 1 year old either, so pls try d diastop and come back to testify. Good morning.

DS has started teething, poops something greenish at least 3times daily, losing weight though next week is his immunization and will check weight. The hospital we took him said it can't be help but to try ors, flagil for kids and biastop.
The flagil for kids leaflet says from one year up and 2.5ml, the biastop leaflet says from 3years old so I don't bother to open it. The flagil, I minimize to 0.5ml. Since Friday, he started taking it, there's no
difference.

Experienced mamas pls what should be done. The stooling is too much

It was written on diastop to consult Dr before using it for less than 3 years. My baby took it when his stooling was getting out of hand he took 2.5ml and very very effective. it contains kaolin, kaolin is a clay.

pls always clean the eyes with cotton wool and warm water, don't use bare hand pls and don't allow anybody to clean with bare hand to avoid infection. just put d cotton wool inside warm water and clean. e-hugs to him.

on the watery eyes your son had, was there a sticky, yellow discharge with it? my son had it from birth, I apply eye drops and they go only to return days later. I don't know what to apply again. I want it to stop completely.

Pls take d baby to a consultant/optician for assessment. My baby eye didn't have discharge, I took him to d hospital for proper assessment where Dr prescribed eye drop (stafen) and cod liver oil I.e the syrup. I massage like ten times everyday. u can try d stafen eye drop it very effective, sold @ #800.
