PresEmeka:Your friend is ignorant. Honda engines are bulletproof with the normal maintenance so far you purchased a good unit. Concerning the low resale value it’s just the factors of demand and supply that came into play plus the herd mentality that they people have in these climes. Honda vehicles are easier to understand and maintain than Volkswagen products of similar year and segment but buy whatever you would be proud of driving and not what other people tell you they like for themselves ![]() |
eddiense:It either connects to the intake bypass thermal valve under the black plastic cover at the spot circled in BLUE OR it connects to that black pipe coming out the top side of your valve cover circled in YELLOW in the picture below. Check which it is.

Chae:Use another mechanic |
PresEmeka:You should check the engine properly before buying. For the fans to have been run directly it’s possible it’s overheated before and maybe had a head gasket job done. Check for engine smoking, check for sludge and make sure the compression of the engine (engine power) is still within specifications. The fans can be run back to factory by a good auto electrician. |
Lekan239:If you just purchased it and claim you learned with it then you should be very careful on the road and while you’re driving. Even with regular everyday driving it will still take at least 2 months to master the road and your new vehicle. Concerning your vehicle, you see that your gear lever? don’t put it on the S mode unless you want to use the paddle shift buttons on your steering wheel . Seeing as you’re still a learner and you didn’t learn to use a manual gear you should forget about using the S for now and focus on your regular driving. Always use the D mode to drive. If you mistakenly put it on S and drive with it your engine or gearbox can get damaged. Go and get that small white board with big red L boldly written on it for learner and put in your front and back. Don’t be ashamed to show other road users that you’re still learning, it will even make people give you chance on the road (ask experienced drivers and they will tell you) |
DeleTheD:Truly there are plenty hypocrites on this thread. When I saw them apologizing to that guy I dropped my phone and vehemently shook my head. It was disgusting to see |
Okay oh. Amotekun to the rescue ![]() Boko haram flags are currently hoisted high and waving gallantly in many local governments in the north . . . It’s not surprising that they are now shifting their gaze onto the south west first in their grand scheme of conquest. So to our esteemed accommodating accomodators over to you guys. The ball has been passed from the north and rests in your court now. Remember there’s the Benin republic IDP camp just a few kilometers away so don’t fear too much if you can’t pay the visitors their ‘matching ground’ fees ![]() God bless ESN for me abeggi |
Lekan239:Good you have a scanner. Keep it safe. If you’re using the regular mobil 2000 (black cover) sold in the Nigerian market you should change it out after every 3000 miles (4,500 kms) or every 6 months if you’ve not driven that far in that timeframe. If it’s the usa mobil1 I’d suggest you use it till 5000 miles (7000 kilometers) or after a year If you’ve not driven as far as the above mileage. Leave in the power steering and gearbox oil for now until you can go to oyingbo and buy the replacement Honda power steering fluid and the original dw1 transmission fluid. First use the vehicle for some months and observe how it functions before you start changing the transmission or power steering fluid. But seriously, keep that vehicle very functional. If there are 100 people with that 2007 civic in Nigeria the people who have the exact configuration of yours won’t be up to 5. It’s a very rare car you’ve got right there. |
ItsTutsi:While the other ones are murderers by nature abi? ![]() Between being a criminal and a murderer which is worse? |
IfGodbeforus:Yes unfortunately it’s true. They kill innocent and unwilling people and bathe with their blood or use their parts for rituals ![]() The same way igbos are always in the news for selling drugs to willing users and abusers Between murdering innocent people and selling drugs to the willing people, which vice is worse? |
compton11:Because igbos always speak out and don’t hide evil doers in their midst unlike other well known tribes ![]() |
Lekan239:Wonderful. For engine oil make sure you use only good brands with the 5w30 weight. There is pricey but superb mobil1 or the regular black cover mobile 2000 in the market here. Anything else and your engine will depreciate faster than normal. For transmission oil change use ATF-DW1 only. Anything else is to kpafuka the gearbox. Your power steering oil should be clear (whitish looking) and not red like the ones we usually use here. Only use original Honda power steering fluid in your pump except your vehicle comes with the electronic steering system. Most importantly buy a small Bluetooth or wired car scanner it is only for your own good. |
Lekan239:Was it purchased as tokumbo or 9ja used? Let me know so I can advise you properly in how to care for it. |
Lekan239:Wow! You are one lucky bas*ard What you have got there is a JDM (Japanese) built 2007 civic with the high powered K20A (2.0) i4 engine. It’s a 2 liter engine but spits the same power as the regular 2.4 liters engines in the eod and dc. They used an automatic transmission on it also for the Australian (NZ) market as well. The one built for the USDM (American) market was the civic SI and always came with the manual gearbox. Have you checked to see if the dashboard was converted from right hand to left hand drive? That vehicle is awesome and highly sought after by Honda racing enthusiasts (especially if it had come with the manual transmission) but your automatic transmission is better suited for our climes. If I were you I’d baby it very well, use only the recommended fluids and make sure there’s no engine malfunction lights on its dash. Purchase a lightweight scanner and don’t allow any yeye mechanic work on it anyhow. If you mess up and that engine spoils you will cry blood first before you start mixing different engines and transmission plus brainbox to get it back in shape or sell as scrap. I had that exact same engine in my vehicle before I converted it to the 2.4l type. Enjoy your ride, it’s a unicorn ![]() |
Lekan239:If it’s an automatic gearbox it has then you’ve just bought a Frankenstein build (aka cut & join moto). All civic type SI and type R come with manual transmission from factory. But why are you like this? ![]() Pictures of engine or steering you no post, and you’re asking us this kind of questions . . . why? |
Felicity001:Oya run come oh, vawulence has finally been waybilled into the thread ![]() |
I smell vawulence let me park my Uber here. Saturdays are the best |
TheSuperb:He still hasn’t broken any rules, if he’s banned and resurfaces with another moniker then he can be banned even though the guy has up to 5 different monikers he operates on nairaland. He knows nobody takes this his bbqgrills moniker seriously anymore hence his new use of monikers to engage nairalanders. He’s now a nonentity on nairaland. If not that his political party paid off seun for this platform in 2015 he would have been banned till thy kingdom come long time ago. |
TheSuperb:Na you first find trouble naw why you quote the idi0t? Someone that is starved of attention. Of course he twists everybody’s posts to suit his narrative. You just got served ![]() |
Hmm, so big brother has now become a show that takes place twice a year? ![]() Okay oh Blessed4sure:Yes I checked. This next one is happening in January 2023 while the last BBN just ended in October. I did the math that’s barely 3 months apart if you throw their dates into the mix. It will shock you that before July the next bbn will start . . . then that will be 3 times within a space of 12 months I’ve never really liked the show again after following the first and second seasons. The rest have been like they are now forcing it on us ![]() I love their prize money sha, the increment dey bust brain ![]() |
Deigofortune:Take it to your auto electrician. It’s either one of the window cable or engine. You’d need to replace it. |
Zandena:You must be very f00l oshi for using such words to describe Peter Obi do you even know what those words mean? Quota system product ![]() |
mejai:Truly he should first check his plugs but he’d finally need a scan. I’m sure his check engine light is on or comes on when such issues come up ![]() |
Why was he driving about from the north to the south with hidden men and weapons in his cargo hold? It’s good they caught him. If not many other people would have been killed by those he was helping to smuggle into the south east |
ManirBK:Shebi you want to vote for APC again? Next time he will bring a smaller amount for you to take and give him food but you will be wondering how to give him food out of the little you have kept for you and your family ![]() |
All you urchins above me shouting about private jet . . . does Obi have a private jet? he flies on jets that people help him rent. If Obi is to personally pay for his trip we all know he flies commercial ![]() But tinubu has almost 4 of them, Atiku has at least 3 of them too. Urchins, who do una this kain thing?

I know an uncle who had a woman live with him and bear him 4 kids out of wedlock. They lived as man and wife for more than 25years yet this uncle no gree carry wine go see her people just because she’s not from the same tribe as him. Omo, the woman unfortunately had a bad illness that claimed her life. The man took her to his compound in the village to bury her. On that day the woman people came from her own state to cause katakata at the funeral and they finally were allowed to take the woman’s body back to her own place to be buried. We all thought that was the end of it. Fast forward to 6 months later, the spirit of this woman wouldn’t allow the husband and his kids rest. She was always appearing to them crying and wailing that she isn’t where she’s supposed to be in the spirit world. She tormented them for many months before a traditionalist finally told the man that he has to formally marry the woman and then exhume her corpse to be re-buried in his own village as it was supposed to be. This man spent X10 of the money he should have spent assuming he just did a simple traditional wedding as at the time she was alive. He had to even take various loans from his kinsmen to foot the bills. Immediately he married her picture/corpse the tormented spirit of his wife stopped visiting them. I don’t even wish the above scenario on my sworn enemies |
ElSudani:Exactly! The point is that obidients never refer to anambra as ‘Obi’s Anambra’ , it’s only you urchins that do so. Only you urchins call Lagos Tinubu’s own and anambra Obi’s own, that’s why I am asking why you feel that these states belong to them? ![]() |
ElSudani:But you urchins always refer to Lagos as ‘tinubu’s Lagos’ , when you make such statements it’s supposed to either mean tinubu built Lagos from scratch or he bought Lagos off from the market. Bottom line is you’re telling us with that statement that tinubu owns Lagos. So which did tinubu do? Did he build Lagos or did he buy Lagos for him to own it? ![]() |
julyb:Sorry to hear about that. Driving with this issue will surely cause problems for the vehicle as the engine will overheat along with its gearbox too. The pictures below are what the switch looks like and it’s location on your gearbox. It can be found under a black plastic covering down low on the gearbox case just behind your drivers front wheel (you must remove the tyre and the mud guards to see the black plastic covering on the gearbox properly). Just show the picture to your mechanic and he should recognize the location of the switch. You can first try to adjust it properly in case anything looks out of place or loose there both in it’s wiring and bolts. If a mechanic mounts a replacement gearbox and fails to set the transmission range switch or gear selector cable properly you can also experience the same issues.
|
Tinubu built Lagos. The one you’re seeing today is a reincarnation. The original tinubu ruled Lagos and died on the seat of power in ikeja even before mobolaji Johnson was born But truly if urchins had told us the version above about tinubu building Lagos it would have been more believable ![]() |
