That's rich life

He just invest in people in the name of "help" knowing truly, one way the other he will one day rip the profit

Might be he didn't see what he could get if he invest his money in your son's education, in the name of help.

Very touching story.

But I'm sure, he was fond of short time investment.... Typical African Rich

Had he assisted your son, and sponsored his education.... He would be God to you and your son for several years
No, he will do it again. That's a bad behaviour.

True. Working on your CV makes a huge difference. I've helped several people on this and they're better off. All you need may just be a second opinion to certify that your cv is fine.

There are websites that gives free formats/samples. Google.

If you need my professional help too, you can send a PM, I charge for the service.

Mamatukwas:
My friend who just came in last month and has gotten a job got veterans in the UK to work on her CV. Apparently they removed everything that made her look over qualified for beginner roles (she’s also on a student visa); and simplified the cv

Then she applied to very many places. So far she has gotten 3 offers, started an agency role and has been offered permanent weekends in the same place so it’s definitely doable.

I think the key is your CV. Get it right and if you can’t do it get help. Then apply to a lot of places.

FYI she mentioned that there’s something called Royal Mail sorter that apparently they hire for everywhere and frequently. So check that out as well. All the best.

Hello everyone, good job for the direction and clarity provided over the years.

I have a question on CoS. My employer provided my CoS over two weeks ago which I updated on my visa application. However, I was able to renegotiate my annual pay which led to my recruiter insisting that I will have to get an updated CoS to reflect my new pay before I can proceed with my application.

I am just wondering what will be the implication if I use the old annual pay as it is also above the minimum pay for tier 2 visa.
Wait for the revised CoS. Rushing it is the fastest way to have complications in the future. Be calming down.

The impact of the bleeding is minimised when they buy an index fund or ETFs. It's the perfect strategy for portfolios diversification.

Don't buy single if you're playing long term.

Welcome to the abroad. You didn't indicate visa you came in with. I'm assuming student? You usually can't do any work without your NI and you require DBS for only a few jobs. You can do volunteer jobs for a few weeks as you have been advised and that will count as part of your UK experience.
I wish you all the best.

NB- I have a 5 page document i titled "First 5 years in the UK as a Nigerian Expatriate (Migrant)". Although it's for skilled workers, others may find it useful. Let me know via pm if you need it.
I've responded to all who requested for the document. Please check your inbox. Cheers.

Good evening brother’s and sister’s, God bless you all for your helpful tips .
I’m new here in Leicester with my family, we moved to our rented flat yesterday and now applying for jobs (support work ) I’ve received two calls from my application and both asked if a have care giver experience and I said No and they told me to do volunteer jobs for three months before I start application. I don’t have DBS and NI-NUMBER ( I’ve applied for NI number and only have registration number) .
Please how is the best way to start work ASAP for my husband and I ?
Please pardon me if this has been sorted out before .

Looking to buy a house next year so we saving now. We stay in south west. Its not help2buy as that doesn’t cover our budget as I hear help2buy is 250k max then. Any tips?
Help2buy can cover any amount you're buying. You just lose the 25% bonus if you're buying a house above 250k anywhere outside London or above 500k in London.

So far as you've your 5%, you can use help2buy.

Hello guys, when getting an apartment, is it better to consider one with all bills inclusive in the package or go for one without such options.
Also, how easy is it to do inspection with agents (giving the whole covid-issue)
Please gurus your advice is needed. Thanks
You need utility bill to register for many things like bank account, council tax, applying for credit card etc which you won't have if you take a bill inclusive house. But if the bill inclusive ones are cheaper you may want to consider those and find another way to create your utility bill, like take a ohone contract etc.

On inspection, most restrictions are relaxed now and you can have physical inspection, otherwise online inspections are also available.

Good evening. please I need your help on these.
myself and my spouse will be going for tb test tomorrow morning, we haven't book any accommodation , all affordable accommodation I saw on spare room site are already booked. some says no family. my questions are:
1. please which address should I fill for tb test? can I fill the school address?
2. when sending messages to the landlord that list their apartment for rent, should I stop telling them that it will be me and my spouse?
3. please how can I go about affordable accommodation in Southampton
4. do anybody has someone that can help secure affordable accommodation in Southampton or near by. thanks
1. Use your Nigerian address or the school address - I assume you're coming for studies.

2. Some apartment are really small and won't be convenient for more than 1 person. I'd advice you give full disclosure. You'll surely get something soon.

3. Just the same way you've been doing. It's not different from the way you secure accommodation in Leeds or Manchester or London. Search on Rightmove, spare room, zoopla, onthermarket, gumtree, open rent etc.

4. The person you want to help you will do point 3 above.

All the best.

1. Learn the skill to do a good job,
2. Build meaningful relationships top, down and sideways.
3. Find a way to do something within the company that's invaluable, probably something no one else wants to do.
4. Be ready to change your employer
5. Do a good CV, cover letter and have a good LinkedIn profile.
6. You can find the details in my book on amazon.

Many thanks to all who responded to my previous questions.

I need help once again. This time around not a hypothetical situation but a real life one.

I applied for a 1 year Tier-2 visa in March. I paid IHS It was granted, to expire in April 2022 (based on my certificate of sponsorship).

A few days ago, I applied and switched to a new visa category (5 years). This is not the Health and care visa. I paid full IHS (again).

Can I apply for part refund of my IHS (as Na only 2 months I don ‘chop’ inside.

Anyone got experience?
Who do I even apply to?

SportsRe: Boxing – A Weird “sport” by contra(op): 10:18pm On May 04, 2021
Fighting involving targeting opponent's face and stomach just so you can knock them out is fine if done right? Okay.

The argument here is intentions and not outcome and I'm looking at boxing as a sport in its own rights, not comparing to other sports.

mansakhalifa:
Fighting is also a form of physical activity- an exercise when done right. You don't have to be 'angry' to get into it.

Meanwhile, if you want to start talking weird sports, then the best place to look would be the "Hybrid sports"(e.g. chess boxing):

https://www.google.com/url?q=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_sport&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwi44PW80K7wAhXQxYUKHQqMAVIQFjALegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw3egxbEP_HlGWsc2tuI30bI

Or better still... the king of all weird sports:

Buzkashi! Go grab some dead goats:

Now, those are the real weird.
SportsBoxing – A Weird “sport” by contra(op): 10:15pm On May 03, 2021
It seems that the promoters have been able to convince us that fighting is great and that it is a sport. But, how did we get convinced, and everyone in the world seems very fine with it? Even the government doesn't mind. Well, that is by design!

Fighting as I understood it as a child was only happening when two people get into an argument and they fight. Any right-thinking adult would discourage this behavior. Sometimes we would even get spanked for fighting, just for good measure. But in boxing, you don't need to be angry, you just fight. Here they say that they love the "sport."

In truth, the promoters have only succeeded in selling us this “sport” because of the promised incentive. Have you ever wondered why both fighters, regardless of whether they win or lose, get paid? Sometimes, losers even get paid more!

Many people have taken up this “sport” all over the world. Does it make it okay? They claim to get some sort of entertainment and satisfaction from seeing others beaten. It helps them relax. Hahaha. They study the reflexes and conclude how remarkable and inspiring they are. They claim it gives some artistic fulfillment. Of course, why won’t punching someone in the face be inspiring? You realize the target is usually the face, right?

They have only succeeded in selling this “sport” because of human’s weird or should I say warp interests. Or maybe fighting is okay, so far as it’s regulated and done in a controlled environment?

Let's hear your thoughts...

Let's get down to the topic.
If you were offered a Job in Lagos for N150k and you were offered the same job in Ibadan for N120k, which one will you go for?
Tricky but choose Lagos to build your network. You'll be too relaxed in Ibadan and feel like you've arrived. Also, you're likely to meet more sophisticated people in Lagos. I come in peace ✌️

Thank you very much for this. I just got my CISA last month. I'm an financial Auditor trying to switch into IT audit.
Hopefully I can get to learn the rope in the UK.
It may be very easy to switch as a financial auditor all your life and want to be IT Audit because you got a CISA certificate with no experience as a CISA.

Best bet will be to move to the UK as a financial auditor, so some time and then make the switch. My opinion.

What is the path to using the CISA certificate for IT audit in the UK?

Thanks.
If you've quality experience in systems audit in Nigeria with your CISA, most big 4 will grab you. Quality experience is at least full senior consultant with around 4 years, with ability to lead projects.

Hello house,
Please how much is the health and care dependent maintenance fees for spouse and kids..How many days or months bank statement and what other documents needs to be uploaded while applying. Thanks
This I believe is dependent on your visa type. For tier 2 visa, there's a section in your offer letter that says that, your employer will pay if you can't. This only show that your salary is capable of caring for your dependents for the duration they're staying. In which case, you only need to show bank statement for 3 to 6 months showing constant inflows and current balance if you have it, otherwise attached your offer letter. You need to only worry about the subsistence as the health surcharge should have been covered when you're applying for your visa.

For other categories of visa, (which I'll think student visa and visitor), the suggested cost of living is £680 per month for each dependant.

This is based on my experience bringing in my dependents and MIL in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

if the person inviting is not on ILR or citizenship... dnt write 5 or 6 months for a 1st time applicant is my opinion pls
Well, i did the exact same thing with my MIL and she stayed for 5 complete months, September 2020 to February 2021. I'm on tier 2 General. The immigration people called to asked where she's here when she arrived and madam explained.

I think it's more of the support you include in the application and the reasons you give. My opinion please.

Allowing recipients to receive forex will flood the street market and drive down demand. That will positively affect Naira exchange. It's a temporary solution but it's a solution still.

I don't know the long term solution, i don't know if there's one aside increasing our forex earning potentials and providing enabling environment to attract FDIs. While we are waiting for the government to do this, we can use the temporary solution and deal with the implications later.
