Same way we blame Berbatov, Carrick, Evans and the likes  grin

But that is not really the bones for me. . . . .for some very odd reason, Coogar is playing "Anderson's advocate".
Personally, I feel Anderson is not playing very well at the moment but am not squarely placing the blame on his shoulder or anyother for that matter; my point and worry in general is we are relatively fine going forward but in defence, very poor. Just because we haven't been beaten yet doesn't make it alright. We don't have to wait till we get a proper hiding from some obscure non-league outfit before we realise that we have to sort out our midfield because that is where the bulk of the problem emanates. Yes, we are thrashing teams left, right and center but as at this stage last season, I felt more at ease with the team than than now.
with the way we are playing, we cannot be beaten.
that's the interesting thing about 4-4-2. you would be superb going forward but also vulnerable at the back. as long as we outscore our opponents, the number of goals conceded does not matter. i also think we have done considerably well despite your analysis that we are weak defensively.

we have only conceded 5 goals in 7 league games(3 clean sheets).

now let's look at the previous seasons after 7 league games,
10/11-----------9 goals conceded, 3 clean sheets
09/10-----------6 goals conceded, 3 clean sheets(but lost to burnley). grin

08/09-----------4 goals conceded, 4 clean sheets(but lost to liverpool)
07/08-----------2 goals conceded, 5 clean sheets(but lost to man city).

draw your conclusions! grin cheesy cheesy
mbulela:
not exactly true.
the problem is that Coogar will tell us that Anderson had a spectacular game and would have been even better if his midfield partner was more mobile.
i stand by that and i swear to the cross on that statement.

the other problem is that inspite of every evidence to the contrary he keeps insisting the boy is mint and the shining light of a less than stellar midfield.
name a better midfielder currently in our ranks?
fletcher? gibson?? a sitting midfielder called carrick? who?

I have no problem with Anderson he is an okay player, inconsistent in his general play, a bit erratic with his passing, loads of energy and very poor shooting.
he is not inconsistent! now let's look at the games anderson has played this season.
did he play well against city at wembley? yes!
did he play well against westbrom? yes!
did he play well against spurs? yes!
did he play well against arsenal? yes!
did he play well against bolton? yes!

all these were consecutive games. if a player puts 8/10 performance in 5 consecutive games, then he's not inconsistent!
anderson's game took a little spin when his partner in creativity went out injured against bolton!
bring that guy back and let's see what would pan out.

He has lots of potential but same can be said of Pogba et al.
I really see no reason to call Anderson world class.
i never said he's world class - i said he looked world class against barcelona. dayokanu looks like obama does not make him obama!
i said he's our best midfielder this season - the soul of the current united team!

This has been my problem with Coogar. i understand his personal love for Anderson but he can't wish away the realities.
Our midfield is less than world class and Anderson is part of the problem not an exception.
He is not the problem but part of it.
no one ever said our midfield is world class but that midfield would walk the league this term.
our problem is in europe and even with that, only barcelona and real madrid(possibly) can stop us.
the other teams are dead-meat! not bad for a team you and others keep stabbing with a knife that they are not good enough!

this is sterling knee-jerking - it's unthinkable that some people don't feel anderson has improved from the old anderson that got us frustrated!
i sometimes wonder how fans like you support the red devils.
barcelona are offering free forms. sign up and join them.

Wouldn't do any good if that core in the middle is still as soft as jello!
that was how they won the title last season and they have even started better this season. . .
which other proof do you need?

These teams you call 'average teams' (referring to Fulham and Everton) were a bit tougher last season and before those games we were more than a bit wary that they posed a threat. . . . so dropping points there was almost expected.
tougher me arse! everton and fulham would always be everton and fulham.
we went there and got pasted! we had van der sar in the team, we had vidic, we had evra. carrick and fletcher were prim and proper.
so how did we drop points from a winning position with the same core midfield you have been harping about?

Fine we had a terrible start, but grew stronger. . . .now, we've had a flying start which is slowly deteriorating to an extent where we can't even confidently stick our necks out against the likes of swansea and norwich home or away. You say we were lucky then; we are far more luckier presently that the likes of Chelsea, Basel, Norwich and Stoke didn't put away the free gifts we were handing them. . . .God only knows where we would be on the log!
we had a terrible start but grew stronger? what is to say our general performance this term wouldn't be stronger as the season wears on.
you talk about slow deterioration - forgetting the fact some key players have been missing in the team. vidic has not even featured yet - we can see the evidence with arsenal without vermaelen. chris smalling is out of the team too. same as cleverley and rafael. it was valencia playing right back against norwich. that we are even where we are presently is a testament to the strength of that team and the man-management skills of fergie.

the defence that played against arsenal and chelsea had - de gea(rookie), smalling(rookie), phil jones(rookie) evans(rookie) and evra(veteran) in it.
name one club in the division that would play 4 rookies and one veteran in the full-back against man utd and ship 7 goals within 90 minutes.
yet, these young players held their own. got the deserved 3 points and you are here berating them of handing free gifts. which free gifts? so you are saying chelsea, norwich, basel, etc all conspired to waste chances in front of goal? you need to detox! drugs is doing you bad. grin

Minus tottenham. . . . .what we played was a shadow of those other teams. On a G day, would we beat a stable arsenal side 8-2!?
we would beat them every day of the week. mind, united's average age on the day was younger than arsenal's.
a fact that keeps escaping you!

If the bloody anderson was that good, he would play well consistently even if he had dumbbells alongside him. For chrissakes, with scholes and carrick we looked like we had the mexican maginot installed in front of our defence!
if the bloody messy was that good, he would play well consistently for argentina even if he had dumb-bells alongside him. with scholes and carrick, we were slow, mechanical and lack as much creativity as the new man utd team. these days, we are buzzing! beating teams and scoring goals for fun! 24 goals in 7 games. in simple arithmetic, it means we could score 120 goals in 35 league games if we keep the form going.

Not comparing the leagues. . . .just saying there is a common trend with all the champs!
no 2 seasons are the same.
in the last 4 man utd's league victories. we have seen different trends.

--united have finished bottom in the mini-league of the top 4 teams and won the league.
--united have finished top in the mini-league of the top 4 teams and won the league.
--united have won the fewest away games from home and won the league.

what conclusions can be drawn from these disparate trends?

Maybe you don't get 'domination' from my angle. . . . . we beat Norwich 2-0 but we never really 'dominated' them as such; on another day the scoreline woulda been different and that is what we should be wary of, that odd day when the opposition get the rub of the green and we don't. . . . . .and it is so looking like kalo'kalo at the moment.
it's a common phenomenon with man utd. i have been hearing that since i was 5. "even when united don't play well, they still win games"
we don't have to play well to cop 3 points. that's the united dna. in the last 5 seasons, i can pick 5 games per season where we didn't play well but we got get-outta-jail card and copped an undeserved 3 points!

I may be wrong but I still stand by my point. What is wrong is wrong. No two ways about it.
who is to say this type of dressing is wrong?

This same African mentality you are referring too.
We don't leave our homes heading to the beach to catch fun in blazers.
you do!

We don't go to our white collar jobs in bumper shorts.
some do!

We don't visit your in laws in bikinis. Every clothing has its time, place and effects.
so you mean indecent dressers in church go there in bikinis?
is this a joke?

Why make it different with your maker.
very good point!
what makes something indecent to you might be perfectly decent to the next man. it is subjective.
some people think wearing trousers is indecent, some think it is very decent. same as skirts, frocks, or even traditionals!

so which set of people are right and which set of people are wrong?

Eben 2:
@coogar,

am not surprised to see that your argument for indecent dressing could not be surported by any scriptural reference.

please note that God is not a respecter of persons. His standard cannot and would not be lower for anybody be u a nigerian or a european. 'nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are His. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity' 2 Tim 2 :19.

a truly born-again child of God will and cannot dress anyhow because such will not be carnally minded cos a carnal mind will always see a spritual thing as senseless and unconfortable.

in fact, a true child of God will not feel confortable in an indecent dress. he sees his body as the temple of the most High God and must be kept holy, he will not do anything that will make his brother fall or prevent a non-believer from coming to the saving grace of God.

as for those that call those that speaks against indecent dressing in the house of God perverts, be saved and read your bible very well and u'll see that the bible admonishes those that are saved to flee all appearances of evil. are u now saying that people that fear God and want to keep thier salvation should run away from the church because of unsaved-dresssing-indecently? shocked shocked
you are just making up your own argument -

reason like an educated individual. we cannot start anything without defining what indecent dressing really means.
when has someone dressed indecently? is there a universal definition for it regardless of culture, location, race, etc?
i will be glad if you can provide answers to that - i would also be glad if you can provide pictures of indecent dressers in any church.
thanx!
Crime › Re: Absu Gang violation: Victim Agreed To Be violated – Police by coogar: 11:16am On Oct 08, 2011
it seems nigerians are the most gullible set of people in the world. people are so stressed and they have lost their ability to read or comprehend!

the headline is fraudulent - written to cause mass hysteria by some idiotic journalist.

The Abia State Police command has explained why it suspended investigations into the gang violation that happened in its Abia State University. The state police command said the girl-victim consented to the violation.

An online website monitoring the case yesterday reported that commenting on a DVD tape sent to his CP to expedite investigations into the activities of the criminal gang, J.G. Micloth, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Abia  State Police command Criminal Investigation Department said the lady had consented to the gang crime.

He was quoted as saying that after watching the DVD, he said he did not see the young lady resist the violation.
where is the quote? the article said he was quoted as saying? saying what?
why didn't they put his quotes in the article?

“The command in its usual manner of protecting informants’ identity, assures utmost secrecy in this regard while a handsome reward of N500,000 awaits any one with useful information.”

However, last week  the Assistant Commissioner of Police head said the Police cannot go on with the investigation because ”they cannot tell who the suspects are ‘from the legs’ in the video, amongst 70 million males in Nigeria”.

Mr Micloth who claimed to be heading the Police investigating team said ‘Several visits have been made to ABSU. Police have consulted the VC and checked the University records. Searches have been conducted and still on going in students Lodges'
the above are the only credible points to be taken seriously in the entire article. every other information on it is false or not credible or the wet dreams of a perverted journalist trying to screw with your minds. there's nothing in that article that correlates with it's headline. it's a simple case of poor journalism.

Stronger. . . . .am yet to see any of such promise.
i have seen it! the potential of the current team is immense.
if the injured players get back into the team - you would see the difference.

Guy, you are just trying too hard to rubbish last season's team, just to make thses ones look good in contrast. . . . .shyte or not, we saw 'em grow from strength to strength and for me, the performances and results speak for themselves. Like I said earlier, I watched most games last season and that before (especially after the early slip-ups) with a certain calm assured in the know that the worst was a draw and this was mainly due to the fact that we had a strong spine, didn't let in that many goals - am not expecting you to tell me you felt the same but I know many UTD fans who did!
we had a terrible start last season. dropping useless points to average teams. we were just lucky most of the teams we faced were scared more of reputation than the players on the pitch. 5 away wins in 19 should tell you all you need to know about the team of last season. we were more comfortable not to get beaten than being proactive and going for the jugular from the blast of the whistle. if you enjoyed the start of last season, good luck to you - i did not!

And before we start getting too carried away with the "excellent" footie so far or start trying to 'downgrade' the opposition of early last season, who have we played so far - an arsenal side bare to the bones like Railway corporation during a mass retrenchment or is it a chelsea still trying to come to terms with itself, west brom, norwich, or bolton that gets beaten by every tom, Joystick and city!!? Abegi!
we have played arsenal, chelsea and tottenham. 3 of the top 5 teams that finished below us last season.
compare it to fulham, bolton and everton we couldn't beat away from home last season.

Well, if you ask me. . . . this league is looking more and more shyte than those now - or how else can we explain the fact that the supposed 'best player' (life and soul) of the best team in the league needs to constantly have one or two specific valets in tow before he can give us a decent enough performance!
pretty much happens like that everywhere. barcelona without xavi/iniesta are less potent!
it's not the fault of anderson - it's the fault of the gaffer! we have the least number of mobile midfielders in europe! all we have are the robotic and pragmatic carrick, fletcher, gibson, etc.

But look around Europe and tell which champion emerged playing 100-99 scorelines consistently!!?
that's the thing - you cannot compare the premier league to other european leagues. the premier league is the toughest!
in germany, bayern are the dominant force bar few seasons when they have been their own greatest enemy.
in spain, it's between barcelona and real madrid - the other 18 teams are worse than tottenham(the 5th strongest team in england)
france, italy, belgium, holland, scotland, etc are shyte leagues.

You have a higher probability if success when you DOMINATE. . . . .clearly we are not domineering enough. There is a certain team of midgets that don't even allow the opposing team hold the ball for up to a minute and all am advocating is not giving the opponents too clear a sight of our goal, is that too much to ask?
so we don't dominate and we have won 6/7 games.
last season, our dominating team won 3/7. ruudie - you are cracking up like rafa!

please just reel out all the requirements, i don't want any more surprises in future.
wedded to tom cleverley against other teams in europe but a full strength barcelona team is a different proposition on his own.
we can beat anything in europe with 4-4-2 bar barcelona. is this too much to grasp?

must a team play one formation throughout the course of a season?

StarBoard:
Name the two midfielders who can perform that role currently on United's books.I'm preparing my laugh in advance.
carrick and fletcher! we all know how potent the triumvirate of carrick-fletcher-anderson has given us the best european nights in the history of the champions league. the advanced stage of 08/09 champions league is a pointer.

I'm ready to buy your bogus argument about Anderson depending on players to perform.
Besides, you;re agreeing with me that Anderson is so useless he needs help to strike fear in opposing midfielders.Hypocrisy?
who doesn't need a partner to strike fear in the opposing midfielders?
how did spain fare in the last confederations cup without one of xavi/iniesta? america flogged them to bits!!!
you can put xavi in the arsenal team and letz see they won't be taken apart by wolves.

Funny you should mention that, especially when you;re trying to rubbish last season's team that was so shyte according to you,we were able to win the title back and reach the CL finals.
because other teams had more shyte than united! it was the most boring league victory under ferguson!

Anderson has had NO consistent run of games of dominance in the middle this season.
use a bit of logic here.
anderson was dominant when he had a constant mobile partner with him in consecutive games.
since that partner got injured, his performances have gone down a bit - even a 5 year old kid would know cleverley's absence is the problem!
get cleverley back, watch anderson glow!

It was a friendly, anyhow you choose to look at it.Derby or not.
Traditional curtain raiser;no points awarded,no incentives added,no prize money.
The shield used to be shared up till a while ago when they decided that winners should emerge if the game was tied after 90 minutes.
So competitive. The gate fee for that tie is donated to charity.
So competitive, the only incentive was getting bragging rights over a club they've eclipsed over 35 years.
As for the Man City midfield,we'll meet in two weeks. We'll see how Anderson copes with the same midfield.
Hopefully Cleverley will be there.
friendly match between man city and man utd? what can be friendly between those two? nothing.

it was a game both managers wanted to win. moreso, man city wanted to put their marker on the ground that they have arrived.
that match was a world cup final to man city in the way they approached it. there can never be a friendly game between man utd and man city or man utd and liverpool. it's a derby match. there's no love!!!

Question:
In games so far in the league, have United fallen behind and showed guts/test of character to compare with that shyte team of last season?
we shall cross that bridge when we get there!

We played shyte early on, yes but got stronger to the extent we went on a run of 22 games without a loss
so what is to say the current bunch won't get stronger with time? they have only played 7 league games - unbeaten too!
this is a team with a new young goalie(an incentive for smaller teams to be punting shots from ridiculous distances to test his resolve). if van der sar was still with us, the number of shots we have conceded this season would have been about 80% less.

. . . . we practically shut teams out in a way it couldn't matter less if our goalie was taking a nap while the game was on. God knows we didn't achieve that with a defence-line (more to the point a midfield) that makes us look upwards to the heavens in supplication everytime the opposition get within 20yards of our goal. Even more annoying it doesn't even matter who that opposition is; whether Crewe Alexandra, Tirana Torpedoes or Ibhola Lethu!
in which games did we shut teams out? we only managed to beat arsenal, a disappointing 2-2 draw against aston villa's reserve team full of rookies.
beaten soundly by wolves, couldn't beat sunderland, birmingham, everton, blackburn rovers and bolton. we were super shyte last season. we got there because the teams below us had worse issues to deal with it.

One-off, happens every once in a blue moon. . . .but in the last 3 weeks, we've seen no-mark teams come and scare the shyte out of us right on our home turf. How often does these teams you mentioned get worried by such teams!?
de gea factor!
we have mentioned this weeks ago. de gea's statistics in spain prove he's vulnerable to long distance shots.
visiting managers tell their wards to pepper his goal with shots as soon as the opportunity avails itself.

In over 50 games, probably only less than 10 will manage to outplay Barca or Bayern. . . . .and even so, they'd have to be at their very best to do so. Here we are, living by the Grace of God against Norwich, Basel and you expect us to go into a game against Liverpool with high hopes!!? C'mon dude!!! We can't just be riding luck cuz thats what's been happening since that Chelsea game.
bayern and barcelona don't play in the english league - those examples are irrelevant as far as i am concerned until they come to the premier league to play. i don't reckon with what happens in those shyte leagues where 90% of the teams in the league are shyte!

Oh yeah, it justifies us playing score me, i score you football!?
Bottomline, as long as the opposition has '0' under their goals column, you stand a higher chance of winning than when they have don't!
1-0 and 100-99 attract 3 points each!
taking 3 points is the tool you need to win the league. united have done that now 6 times in 7 league games!

grin grin grin - I dey laff oh!
keep laughing!

This is the reason why people like Beaf are not yet saved, they go to church and forget about the real message  grin
then people like beaf need therapy!

On a more serious note women who are truly saved should respect their bodies and stop dressing like harlots !!! Harsh yes, but fact.
i don't see what women wear in church. i don't go to church to see such stuffs - maybe that's a factor!

Funny because we are talking about Nigeria here and not the UK.
so would God judge differently?
women from nigeria would be judged differently from the ones in the uk? is that what you are saying?
or are you saying when a woman goes to nigeria, she should dress decently and when she's abroad, she should dress "indecently"?
make up your mind!

In Nigeria many so called sisters dress so much like the world it is difficult to tell the difference.
has it occurred to you these sisters wear what makes them comfortable?
i find it difficult to wear dressing shirts in nigeria because of the searing heat! i only do t-shirts and wifebeaters. . . .maybe i dress indecently too! cheesy

You can and you should. I would !
i go to church every sunday and i don't see these things!!
i don't even know what constitutes "indecent dressing".

good but in very rare cases.

“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned.” These words of William Congreve, an English poet and playwright who lived in 15th century came alive in Yalanguruza area of Gombe town recently when a young housewife attempted to take the life of

ok. . . .so they complained; but at the same time they watched most of the games with relative peace of mind, most of the time, almost 90% certain that the best result the opposition would get off UTD was a draw. In fact, it was more of a question of if the opposition could manage to score a goal, thinkless of win!
which peace of mind? we lost a 3-1 lead at everton in the 90th min to draw 3-3.
we lost leads at fulham too. we were leading 2-1 before they equalized. bolton battered us 2-2. west brom nearly got a win at old trafford 2-2.

Orikinla:
She is black and beautiful and graduated about five years ago from a local university.
She is from a very wealthy family and quire polite.

She became close to me and I liked her more as a friend. She wanted a physical relationship and did not hide her feelings, but I did not share her excitement. She thought I would be glad to date her, but the more she threw herself at me the more I felt harassed. I would have preferred to do the chasing and not her. Again, I was afraid of sleeping with her, because I thought she had other men and the most dangerous risk is to sleep with a girl or lady who has other men you are not aware of their backgrounds.

If you met the kind of men some women sleep with, you would be scared of dating them.
Many Nigerian men are fetish and I know those who do desperate things to hook girls and ladies.
That is why I avoid clubs to avoid strange men and women.

I must confess I am scared of dating black African girls and ladies, because they are promiscuous and unscrupulous in dating.

They don't take time to find out about the backgrounds of guys before jumping into bed with them.
The last relationship I had with a member of Nairaland made me to be more cautious of black women.

What they do behind closed doors have shown how evil they are.

They are very envious and jealous of others in relationships and can even kill over relationships.
A Nigerian girlfriend sees you eating with another girl and she gets upset before even finding out about her.
The one living upstairs sees another girl visiting you and she stops greeting you.
What Nigerian nonsense is this?
Hugging a girl to a Nigerian already means a relationship?

Then the ones posing and posturing as 'Christians" in order to hook you are even worse.
The wolves in sheep clothing.
They are the tools and victims of their fake pastors.

Many of the Nigerian pastors are not Christians, because they engaged in occultism behind the backs of their congregations.

The confessions of a partner about what he and his so called pastor did to help him hook a lady were enough to make anyone cringe.

The pastor did rituals on his behalf. And he pretends to be a nice man in public.
I have witnessed two marriages based on falsehood since I returned to Lagos three years ago.

Imagine someone taking your picture to perform rituals?
The "pastor" goes to a mountain to pray with it.
That was why I asked my last girlfriend to return the only picture I gave her, but she said she burnt it when we argued over my refusal of her request to visit me in Lagos.
"Why did you burn my photograph?"
I called her a witch for doing that. And she proved to be one later.
But she would pass for an innocent babe on Nairaland and Facebook.

You don't have to be flying at night on a broomstick to be a witch.
Any girls who does evil is a WITCH and any man who does evil is a WIZARD.
That cult guy is a wizard and his so called girlfriend is a witch.
Because only a witch will date a wizard.

The other one I called an expendable i-d-i-o-t, swore at me and never stopped harassing with calls until I reported her to the police.

These black Nigerian girls and women put me off.
I am even afraid of living with anyone of them.

When I talk of terrible lives of black Nigerian girls and women, I know what I am talking about.
I am yet to see a real and true Nigerian Christian lady I can welcome into my home and let her cook for me behind my back.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Ellen Johnson Sirleaf & 2 Others Win 2011 Nobel Peace Prize by coogar: 1:30pm On Oct 07, 2011
Kennyblues:
OSLO, Norway (AP) — Africa's first democratically elected female president, a Liberian peace activist and a woman who stood up to Yemen's authoritarian regime won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for their work to secure women's rights, which the prize committee described as fundamental to advancing world peace.
The 10 million kronor ($1.5 million) award was split three ways between Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, peace activist Leyma Gbowee from the same African country and democracy activist Tawakkul Karman of Yemen — the first Arab woman to win the prize.
By citing Karman, the committee also appeared to be acknowledging the effects of the Arab Spring, which has challenged authoritarian regimes across the region.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee honored the three women "for their nonviolent struggle for the safety of women and for women's rights to full participation in peace-building work."
"We cannot achieve democracy and lasting peace in the world unless women obtain the same opportunities as men to influence developments at all levels of society," the prize committee said.
Committee chairman Thorbjorn Jagland said he hoped the prize would bring more attention to violation and other violence against women as well as women's role in promoting democracy in Africa and the Arab and Muslim world.
Karman is a 32-year-old mother of three who heads the human rights group Women Journalists without Chains. She has been a leading figure in organizing protests against President Ali Abdullah Saleh that kicked off in late January as part of a wave of anti-authoritarian revolts that have convulsed the Arab world.
"I am very very happy about this prize," Karman told The Associated Press. "I give the prize to the youth of revolution in Yemen and the Yemeni people."
Citing the Arab Spring alone could have been problematic for the committee. The unrest toppled authoritarian regimes in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. But Libya descended into civil war that led to NATO military intervention. Egypt and Tunisia are still in turmoil. Hardliners are holding onto power in Yemen and Syria and a Saudi-led force crushed the uprising in Bahrain, leaving an uncertain record for the Arab protest movement.
Jagland said it was difficult to find a leader of the Arab Spring revolts, especially among the many bloggers who played a role in energizing the protests, and noted that Kamran's work started before the Arab uprisings.
"Many years before the revolutions started she stood up against one of the most authoritarian and autocratic regimes in the world," he told reporters.
Liberia was ravaged by civil wars for years until 2003. The drawn-out conflict that began in 1989 left about 200,000 people dead and displaced half the country's population of 3 million. The country — created to settle freed American slaves in 1847 — is still struggling to maintain a fragile peace with the help of U.N. peacekeepers.
Sirleaf, 72, has a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University and has held top regional jobs at the World Bank, the United Nations and within the Liberian government.
In elections in 1997, she ran second to warlord-turned-president Charles Taylor, who many claimed was voted into power by a fearful electorate. Though she lost by a landslide, she rose to national prominence and earned the nickname, "Iron Lady." She went on to became Africa's first democratically elected female leader in 2005.

They are all the same abeg. They preach from the same source and bend the books to fit their individual styles.

The hypocrisy is same everywhere, we get to read these stories on the internet on regular basis.

Let's call a spade a spade. You don't need a third eye to know the difference

between an indecent dressing and a decent one.
is that why you are in church? to be the judge of who dresses decently and who doesn't?
how does that affect me? if you see something you feel is indecent in church, close your eyes or look the other way!

"Also, the women are to dress themselves in modest clothing, with decency and good sense, not with elaborate hairstyles, gold, pearls, or expensive apparel, but with good works, as is proper for women who affirm that they worship God. " - 1 Timothy 2:9-10

"Your beauty should not consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold ornaments[w] or fine clothes. 4Instead, it should consist of what is inside the heart with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very valuable in God’s eyes. 5For in the past, the holy women who put their hope in God also beautified themselves in this way, submitting to their own husbands"-1 Peter 3:3-5

"Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a H.arlot and with crafty intent." - Proverbs 7:10
you reside in the united kingdom, i expect you to know better. . . . . .

the environment plays a part in this "dressing in churches" issue. . . . .you cannot then compare how people would dress in spain for instance to nigeria where we have overzealous and overbearing church leaders. what makes one's dressing decent or indecent? is there a rule book? will God judge the heart/intention or what people are comfortable wearing?

women wear trousers to church in majority of the western world whilst it's almost a taboo in some churches in nigeria, are you then telling me the female church members in the west would all go to hell and the ones in nigeria would make it? how would they be judged. i was in germany a while ago and on getting to church, i saw the pastor of that church with some other elders in the church smoking tobacco. you would be hard-pressed to see that in nigeria but in the west, tobacco-smoking is almost normal to keep warm! are you then telling me that pastor is hell-bound because he wants to keep warm or what?

abeggi, let nigerian pastors continue to deceive themselves. the hypocrisy there is when they come to the united kingdom, they look the other way cos they cannot impose their archaic religious beliefs of nigeria here. you cannot tell a member of the congregation to get out of the church because you think she has dressed indecently. whereas in lagos, it's a  very normal procedure to walk people out from the church! so i like have said, there's no hard and fast rule. people should wear what makes them feel comfortable. i don't go to church to ogle at girls in mini-skirt. go to church, pray, give thanks for another day and get out of there!

The pastor of Christ Family International Christian Centre, Solomon Oziegbe, has expressed concern over growing indecent dressing in some churches.

The cleric, who said this at a news conference to herald the fifth anniversary of the church on Tuesday in Lagos, warned that indecent dressing was ungodly and inimical to the growth of the Christian faith.

Ozeigbe said, "On the question of indecent dressing, the churches failed in many areas whereas God has not failed. The leaders, ministers, pastors have failed God. God can never fail. His word will never fail. He said 'heaven and earth shall pass away but my word will remain the same.' The men of God are reading the bible but they are not teaching the truth.

"The issue of dressing is a very serious thing in the world. Unclad or indecent dressing does not encourage the Christian faith, we are supposed to caution the way people dress. The bible commands us to dress well, especially the women. The dressing is part of the worship but these days people say God looks to the heart. It is what the heart sees that the body says.

"Every church that wants to experience God must look at the dressing of its members because holiness must start in the house of God. Most pastors are not interested in that message. All they are after is membership. If you can put the church in order and dressing in order, the people will come and the church will grow. The truth is that pastors should arise and speak on the area of dressing."

He added that proliferation of churches would not stop until clerics preached the truth, saying "many have shifted focus to miracle and prosperity."

http://odili.net/news/source/2011/oct/5/806.html
pastor solomon oziegbe, there's no hard and fast rule to this cos what is decent in this church might be seen as indecent in the other ones!
people should just go to church, worship and leave. stop paying attention to what girls are wearing in the church. nigerian men being randy animals are the problems. always blaming the opposite gender for their own gross irresponsibilities!
