NNBB2012: London is the no 25th of the most expensive cities in the world. You can't compare the cost of living there with places such as: Tokyo,Luanda,Osaka,Sydney,Melbourne etc. And don't ever make the mistake of comparing things over there with Nigeria. Each time you do that, you will just be giving yourself unnecessary headache.another charlatan speaketh...... london is by far the most expensive city in the world----there's a huge disparity between what you pay and the quality of the service you would get which I am sure was not considered in the idiotic ranking people have been bandying about! |
No place like home. Plan ahead and don't think you will always be accepted there. To before warned is to before armed. Don't let me come here and say I told you so when it starts to happen. God save the Queen. God save the Queen.
is that the same home mikel obi's dad was kidnapped? where chris obodo was kidnapped where robbers raid without fear and where the life expectancy of an average nigerian is 47 years? home is where you make it - for many nigerians in diaspora, the bills they pay here is a stroll in the park. much better than home where the little you make is eyed by miscreants and you have to sleep with an eye cos robbers might invade your house! |
omoeast: Hey Nairalanders,i would be glad if someone could tell me why United Kingdom is sooooo expensive.london is the financial capital of the world which means it attracts the wealthiest people in the world who would not flinch to buy a bottle of coke for £10. in a nutshell, you are living in the same city with wealthy arabmen, oil/gas tycoons, football players, etc and buying from the same market/paying for the same services. the demand/supply curve kicks in. besides that, most of the services you are paying for are taxed to death by the uk government and they take the frustration out on the consumers. it's long established history and diverse culture also make it one of the most visited cities in the world, if tourists stop coming, the prices would crash! |
ROSSIKE: Oh please shut the hell up. That someone didn't fancy the British show doesn't imply they ''didn't understand it''. What rubbish is that? What is the great complex mystery behind what they were showing? For many people the ceremony was CRAP. Pure and simple. And most definitely inferior to the show put up by Beijing. Don't come in here patrionising anyone with any British nonsense. Many think it was crap. Deal with it.there are many simpletons in the world(including yourself).....so i accept many would think it was crap - majority didn't think it was crap so deal with it! ROSSIKE: The ''whole world'' enjoyed it only if you were watching BBC or some other western mouthpiece HYPE station. When you get your nose out of the asss of western propaganda, you'll realise that ''the whole world'' does not start and end in the BBC news station and the hype they drum down your head.it was crap and yet your country of birth cannot boast of 24 hrs of uninterrupted power supply - what a twerp! nigerians love to criticise even as they wallow in unending poverty! I found a lot of the satanic imagery in the ceremony quite frankly disgusting. There were clear subliminal messages in that ceremony that need careful scrutiny as to what exactly they were trying to convey to the world.satanic imagery? lol.... as opposed to the daylight armed robbery, ritualism, kidnapping, oppression, funds embezzlement, modern day slavery, organised prostitution, advanced fee fraud, human trafficking, etc that your country is a world power in? you must be a lunkhead! nigerians are the last set of people on the planet that should complain about satanism.....satan's favourite country is nigeria - deal with that cap28: you are without a doubt a platinum plated fool.few words for you..... when stupidity and dementia had unprotected sex some 35 years ago, you were the product of that union! it's quite unfortunate, don't you think? cap28 - the field nigga executive that hates britain but won't leave their country! unrepentant asswax! |
buzugee:it's not my fault you went to a village school! go and get laid! ![]() |
buzugee: thats the problem. simple minded people like yourself are driven by lusts and hence are easily bawled over by anything with a pulse that moves. as such you thought the show was amazingly spectacular. that opinion dont count for much coming from a simple minded lust driven cretin like yourselfyou are weighed down by circumstantial celibacy - go and get laid and free your mind instead of sounding so stuck up and combustible! you lack any decent sense of humour and the worries of your life have screwed up your ability to discern premium quality from the cheap quality spectacle you are used to - you rectocranially inverted peasant! |
] It was a mess, Coogar. Public's opinion . . and that's all that matters. If it was the British olympics and only you guys were watching, the everlasting Queen and Kate Middleton could have done cartwheels for 3 hrs and it would have been acceptable. That dress rehearsal we all watched yesterday wasn't acceptable.
go on twitter and read what the sane world think about the ceremony! i never rated danny boyle as a world class director and i was a bit worried when i learnt he was the string puller but after what i saw last night, he should be knighted! that was the best movie he never made!shymmex: Slapping the tories on their own turf, yet no labour MP was invited to the opening ceremony, huh? They need to take politics out of a sporting event, politicizing the opening ceremony was disgusting IMO - and it won't stop David Cameron from privatising the NHS.they did not politicise sports! they only showcased their history and tradition and up until yesterday, nhs was still government owned. so what do you expect? nobody cares about cameron. everyone knows if he goes to the poll tomorrow, he would lose by a landslide margin! My ancestors are buried somewhere in the jungles of Africa...then you have no chutzpah to criticise if your country cannot serve the same showmanship you saw on tv last night! Honestly, we need a new foreign policy devoid of the yankz - and yesterday should have been about competing with Beijing, and not the yankz.cameron is about to change the currency to the american dollar - the brits always tailgate the yanks! What history? The industrial revolution, James Bond, and Beatles??james bond is not history? a franchise that started in 60s isn't history? If they wanted to showcase more about British history and achievements - they should have included immortals of science like: Sir Isaac Newton, Stephen Hawkings, Peter Higgs etc.bringing the inventor of the world wide web to the ceremony is enough. sir isaac newton is dead, don't let madam tissauds deceive you! |
buzugee: cant help were i was born. but i am not deluded enough, like yourself, to classify a pantomime show as a world class event.awwww, come on - don't liken everyone else to your sourpuss status. the whole world enjoyed what they saw last night apart from few people with no lust in their lives. people like yourself that are belaboured with hunger, frustrations, obesity....the people who still reason like you do are tools who drive white vans and fuck prostitutes! |
buzugee: so you expect us to laud a hostory of savagery and theft and colonialism and racism and genocide of ethnic peoples and slavery and land stealing ? colonial mentality dey worry you no be small. may i suggest a lobotomy ?coming from a citizen of a country where savagery, genocide, modern day slavery, looting, kidnapping and political violence are the order of the day, i find this particular post above amusing. i find it difficult to put the words log, speck, eye and remove in a sentence to bury you. Buzugee, over to you to do the honours and get yourself into a psych-evaluation program to cure your dementia! |
It's not even about the culture thing. Most people watching yesterday understood what the 4uck was going on; british history. Nothing bad in showcasing that. In fact, it was expected. But at least, it needed to be interesting and put together. China showcased their culture in a way that grasp people's interest. London's was taken too lightly. It didn't feel like an olympics opening ceremony for most parts. For goodness's sake, I saw Justin Beiber on my screen. WHY? Some random arse kids moving about. . Lord Voldemort was at the damn ceremony with his wand. Your queen fell from the clouds. It seemed more like an ill-planned circus to me. ![]()
showcasing their pop culture and reminding the world that social networking has come to stay. what were you expecting? hundreds of kids running with dye colours and running helter-skelter? you saw the beatles, rowan atkinson, 007, harry porter and mary poppins....what else do you need to see? |
shymmex: The same 'NHS' that's about to be privatized?that's exactly the point....slapping the tories on their own turf, absolutely brilliant! And why should it always be about competing with the Yanks, when we all know we follow the yanks like dog - and the last time I checked, the last Olympics was in China, not yanks.your forefathers conquered theirs, they speak your language and yet you are the follower who happens to be a dog? the mind boggles..... And they spent far more time on the American team yesterday than they did on team GBR smh... I know the yanks are somewhere laughing their arses off at their puppets..the yanks would wish they have such history apart from the union/confederates nonsense history. millions of them troop in every year to see the buckingham palace every month! |
Iyfe Namikaze: boyle's brilliance ended when the towers where erected. Every other thing that follows was shit! They were just every where. No cordination, it was like watching a disco party.that is because you did not understand what they were doing. after the towers came the nhs(gosh). rubbing it in the faces of america and others that health is wealth, health is free. then boyle was at his brilliant best when he played alll the tv programmes from the dark ages till now.......then the "abide with me" rendition at the end? what's not to like about the ceremony? |
Beijing's is better. London's was a big pile of mess. A failed attempt at "something new and original". I don't envy the people present at the event last night at all. There were too many things going on at the same time. So many silly refrences and weirdness jumbled up. Apart from the olympics rings formation, everything else was bland and tasteless. The whole world was watching. The world needed to see a coordinated and goosebumps inducing ceremony. . .not Justin beiber's face and two teengers making out. It's the fucking olympics, not a broadway show.
another colour lover speaketh....... that's the best opening ceremony I have seen. it was inventive, original and fresh. i was an utter curmudgeon just before the ceremony but what i saw put a smile on me face that the brits know how to tell a story! try imagining patience goodluck jump from an aircraft.... |
Boyle. . .God love 'em, was trying to do too much!!! ![]() On the other hand, I can't blame him too much. . .you gotta have something to work with and I believe if anything, the opening ceremony last night showed us that The Brits don't have a culture. A lot of people are just responding to the familiar. . .Mr. Bean, Bond and The Queen. Take those 3 elements away and what do you have. . .NONSENSE!!
this is what i would expect an illiterate to say.....so you couldn't grasp the fact that danny boyle presented the history of england from the middle earth(the shire) to the industrial revolution way down to the 21st century in less than 3 hours? i can understand why colour lovers preferred beijing---but to put down the history of an entire kingdom as rubbish is mind-boggling. If you didn't understand what boyle did, ask questions don't criticise! and it's not like the country you come from can muster any effort - Nigerians and their criticisms make me laugh! |
PrettyCindy: Jenny thanks.this is hilarious! do you have any empirical proof that there's a place called heaven and hell? you would be disappointed if you die and realise there's no hell - better to make the best out of your situation while you are still living. the heaven/hell bridge would be crossed when the time comes. you can be married and be happy too....so remove the defeatist ideology that you would rather stay single n be happy when others are aiming to be married and happy! Everyone have their individual lucks and destinies. That two friends started medical school together does not mean that they will both graduate. One may be withdrawn along the line. That is life.absolutely! however, life is what make you it. i will not be comfortable being poor because some people are poor. always aim high in life. if 2 friends are in a medical school and one has to drop out and one graduates, i would want to be the one that is graduating. success is the only option i have, failure isn't! I am very much aware what its like out there for singles both male and female. What matters most to me is what God says about me and his will for me. For all i care let there be only one bachelor in the whole of africa..............if he is that deserving man that God is sending my way, then he is mine (lol). I didn't let God guide and direct me before but now, no matter how long it takes, he is in control. That being said, i am soooooo happy, good luck! |
vanstanzy: Who the HELL is this fu/ck/ing f@ggot struggling not to call AngelofValor a doofus? He just spoke the truth which i very well know that ur entire generation put together will never ever know. Unless u are a fu/cking satan worshiper and u're hiding it. Its people like u that are called PIGS, i pity your friggin SOUL, retard. Stay there and wallow in ur IGNORANCE, FOOL. U fu/cking satanist, don't u even think of challenging me, cos darkness has no place in the LIGHT and i'll devour u.yet another waste of bandwidth by another schlepper whose IQ is lower than his shoe size....some of you cretins should never have been allowed to associate with sane people. bunch of idiotas - you sit your diseased arses in nigeria and you have the gall to say i am a satan worshipper? what part of nigeria is not worshipping satan? you kill everyday, steal, embezzle, kidnap, rob, rape, human sacrifices of all sorts and yet watching "batman" is satan worshipping? some of you nigerians are so screwed up I doubt you have a moral compass. nigerians are the last people on the planet to judge anyone as a satan worshipper - satan's favourite country has to be nigeria especially when a dolt like yourself - who happens to be a product of a cheap drunk fuck hails from there! the next time you see your father, tell him I said he's irresponsible for bringing up a tool like yourself to pollute the planet with your sheer idiocy. unrepentant ignoramus like yourself has no business on a public forum so you can take your superstitions and shove it up your rectum! i don't blame you but the recipient of your y-chromosomes who should have used it as listerine to kill the plaques in her mouth! |
ritchboy: "Howard Webb STRUCKED twice"!!!"strucked" is the best English word I learnt in the last 24 hours. i am joining your classroom of comic relief too. how much is the fee? RuuDie: Oh please. . .I was patiently waiting like 50 for you to play the 'morale card', anybody else and I'd let it pass. Now you remember there is such a thing as 'morale' and dropping it when some 'freak' events happen - you who pointedly told me on this same forum that Bruno Alves should not call himself a pro-footie player if he allows such a 'little' incident as being interrupted in a semi-final of major tournament to un-nerve him! So because we conceded 4 goals at home, we should just throw in the towel and hand the trophy over abi!?you want to compare putting the ball into the net from 12 yards to losing the pole position in a marathon like the premier league? we drew everton, with the man city game to play @ the etihad. it was an uphill task from then on with many of our players out injured especially in the defence. I am surprised you haven't started posting higher education stats and youtube videos yet. Here's some of the stats we racked up in those last 2 games:you can have 72% possession and not score goals. chelsea vs barca duel last season is a good reference point. united still won the games you listed and in this premier league marathon, points matter more than goals! all we had to do was outscore everton at old trafford and we would have been 2 points ahead of man city with their +10,000 goals difference. you criticise our strike force not scoring 50 goals. how many minutes did the peripheral strikers play? hernandez n berbatov had limited appearances. only welbeck(a rookie) had plenty of minutes under his belt.:...the number of goals our wingers scored compensated for the number of goals the strikers did not score. anyone reading your posts would think city attack were too superior but stats say they scored a mere 4 goals than united.... Did you even see the Shenhua friendly? Some strike-force with potential we have got eh!?don't pay attention to preseason games - its just a fitness programme to get players up to speed. |
RuuDie: Easy or not. . .you do whatever it takes to be champs!it wasn't possible.....united had lost the pole position by then and the morale had dropped. the key game was that everton game. the draw gave city the ray of hope they needed to leapfrog us. champions dont concede 4 goals against a hapless everton side @ home! |
RuuDie: Now am over-analysing abi. . .when you reel tonnes of higher education note-books filled with stats to buttress your own arguments on this same forum, you don't remember there's a word called 'over-analysing' in the english language.if we didn't concede cheap goals at wigan and man city, we wouldn't have lost. 2 cheap corner kicks and we dropped 6 precious points. the defence let us down, ruudie. i just hope vidic plays a blinder this coming season without any injury! |
RuuDie: I am not disputing that the defensive problems, yes it did us a bit of harm. . .but when we needed goals, the only person we could rely on was Rooney - who by the way amounted for 27 of the 89; the next top scorer was Chica with 10. No other striker even managed to make double figures. . .c'mon lads, where is the potential in this!? God forbid Rooney gets injured, which way forward then!!?ruudie, stop overanalysing this issue. it all came down to letting in 4 goals against everton at old trafford. leading 4-2 with 7 mins to go and we conceded 2 needless goals. had we won that, it woulda been united's name on the trophy. the defence let us down not the strikers. 4 goals at old trafford should have been enough to put any team down in europe...let alone a hopeless team like everton! |
montelik: Bebe may eventually come good, but I doubt he will be able to nail down a starting shirt with a mid-table side with his current play (villa, sunderland e.t.c), he prospect for regular play are better with a relegation contender/bottom 6-8 team.stewart downing and henderson are not better than bebe! if you know any winger with 0 goals and 0 assists in 37 premier league appearances in the history of association football, please mention him. i am sure bebe would score at least 1 goal and 3 assists in 37 league apps |
RuuDie: @ Coogar.bebe is quality - he just needs game time in a mid table team....where there's less media pressure. |
RuuDie: Errr. Don't forget, Macheda ~ who, by the way, has been repaying your belief in him by missing sitter upon sitter against a lowly shenhua!united scored 89 league goals last season, the problem was conceding too many. If city's inferior defence could let in less goals than ours then the problem wasn't in the attack but the defence. vidic's injury, de gea's teething problem and fergie's brainfarts of playing valencia and carrick in the defence cost us more than the profligacy of the strikers. |
Ujujoan: Na wah oh . . . .too much of everything is bad, there should be a balance! you cannot be too extreme - don't be too much about money and don't be too crazy about love. find a balance! |
Wallie: Oponu, I don’t have to explain a damn thing to you but do you really think that Wallie or Wally sounds white? Nigerians in Nigeria don’t go by Wally, Wallie or Willy? Wallie has been my alias since high school days, ode!well said..... i have told the verminous cretin several times that nigerians suffer more abuse in nigeria than anywhere else on the planet. this tool wouldn't object to a nigerian policeman slapping him but if he gets pulled abroad for overspeeding, he would wave the race card. cockcap28 is a weakling - a society degenerate who has done nothing to upgrade his life cos he believes as a negro, he cannot move ahead on the social ladder. he blames everyone else for his own failure. one question he's failed to answer since i knew him is.....if the whites are so evil, what is this field nigga executive doing abroad? it's not like he's on exile or his international passport has been seized by MI-5. he's not wanted in nigeria by EFCC or the SSS so what is the simpleton doing in the uk? he's completed his masters degree some 4 yrs ago, his visa expired and yet, he wouldn't leave the country of the people he hates with all his heart... it's mind boggling.... |

Not a flat...Just one room without no sitting room...its gonna be a shared apartment.3-4 people might be living in the same flat with you,you will share kitchen and toilet with them.Sitting room will be for let as well...I went to Heathrow Airport 3 days ago, someone called me to come online,i went to there internet cafe to browse,i was surprised when i saw the price...£1 for 10 mins(250 naira for 10 mins)Is that normal

If it was the British olympics and only you guys were watching, the everlasting Queen and Kate Middleton could have done cartwheels for 3 hrs and it would have been acceptable. That dress rehearsal we all watched yesterday wasn't acceptable.
