Half of a Yellow Sun is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's award-winning second novel, and was listed as one of New York Times Most Notable Books of 2006. Many critics praised Half of a Yellow Sun and predicted that Achidie will be hailed as a significant writer of the twenty-first century.

The novel takes place in Nigeria, where the author was born. The time frame is the 1960s during the country's Nigerian-Biafran War. The main characters are on the Biafran side of the conflict. The story is told through three different points of view: Ugwu, a young teenage boy who represents the people of the outlying villages; his tribe clings to a more traditional, tribal way of life; Olanna, the daughter of well-to-do city-dwellers; and Richard, a white ex-patriot originally from England, who falls in love with Olanna's twin sister. The story is a combination of politics and personal relationships, charged by the brutal conflicts that occur around the main characters.

The story begins in a somewhat peaceful and almost idyllic setting. Olanna has fallen in love with a radical Nigerian professor who rallies his colleagues, friends, and students around the idea that the mostly southern portion of Nigeria needs to declare its independence. A new country will be formed and it will be called Biafra. Many of the characters are inspired and excited about this concept.

But well into the novel, the realities of war become a major factor. This is not strictly a north/south revolt but rather the conflict is based mostly on tribal disputes. Living mostly in the south, the Igbo people do not trust the more northern tribes people called the Hausa. The main characters of this story are Igbo. Although their hearts are in favor of the revolution and ultimate independence, the Igbo people are not as well prepared, equipped, or financed as the Hausa. In the end, the Igbo people suffer tremendous losses.

Readers are taken through these struggles, losses, and sufferings.  In the process, readers learn of at least one side of this particular time in Nigerian history. But this novel is more than a history lesson. Family relationships, love affairs, community involvements, and the conflicts between the traditional tribal ways of life versus the more modern, often more corrupt, manner of life in the cities are fully explored.

thandie newton acts better than any of the nollywood actresses who delivers heaps of shyte acting on our tv sets.

i would rather have quality acting than sentiments of starring a nollywood actress in this kinda movies.
that some nigerians have decided to accept mediocrity is their own business. movie directors/producers are all about delivery quality movies and getting paid. . .
oge okoye and nkiru sylvanus are just too daft to deliver quality acting.

the only nigerian actress i would have trusted to do justice to this play is regina askia.
sadly, she's moved base to the united states.
others are just wack!

If I paid £18 million for a keeper I think I'd be right to expect solid performances from him given the high ratings he has had so far.
I don't buy the excuse that he's young.Iker Casiolas was his age in 2000 when he kept goal against us for Real in the CL and almost single-handedly denied us progress at OT.He is replacing Edwin van Der Sar not Tomasz Kuscsjk. We are supposed to be progressing from a season where we won the PL,finished second in the CL and reached the semis of the FA Cup.So there should be no room for shaky-shaky displays from week to week.
Michael Owen is entitled to his opinion but making excuses a la six players were in the box which didn't allow him to jump sounds like baloney to me.Edwin van Der Sar never filled any United fan with fear when he was between the sticks. He always commanded his eighteen/six yard box during corners/set pieces from the wings.Every player knew he was around and he threw his weight around no matter the size of the players involved. This muppet wearing our no1 jersey and gloves to match with a scraggly beard flaps at crosses that make his transfer fee look like 18 million CFAs.Ask us how Blackburn got three unthinkable points against us.
Face it:the boy hasn't got what it takes to make the jersey his.
You say these kind of errors happen regularly in the EPL.Damn it,you should be expecting the spotlight to be on you, because it's MANCHESTER UNITED.Who gives a flying hell about what the other 19 clubs do?Youre playing for the biggest club in England in all ramifications and you expect to pass under the radar? Then I guess you're the wrong club.I guess you should know this by now.Didnt DeGea expect that his every move on and off the pitch would be scrutinized?
Sorry but it doesn't quite cut it for me.If he's homesick, that's a different matter entirely.
I wouldnt blame him for the 2nd goal, but that was a typical chance where late in a game we have mostly dominated he's called upon to bail the team out and he hasnt delivered.  Fact is, I just dont have any faith or confidence that when it comes to the crunch,he could save us in the dying minutes by producing a huge save or a great performance when the team has been poor.

I still think he should be given time and we shouldnt just dump him like that. He's obviously very talented and still really young for a goal keeper. Not many goalkeepers had this much pressure on them at this age and he's obviously talented if lacking confidence and consistent playing time. I wouldnt dump him yet but it means we have to be prepared to suffer a little to gain in the long run as if he fulfills his potential we could be sorted for a keeper for the next 15 odd years.

Might want to sort out laser eye surgery for him though. tongue
edwin van der sar versus drogba

same area of the pitch, same angular shots, same culprit(evra who was on a walk-about). . . .

if you add theo walcott's goal @ old trafford this season from the same area of the pitch then it's fair to conclude the 2nd goal was evra's fault and any goalkeeper in the world would have conceded that goal with the way evra exposed his goalkeeper.

i am all for constructive criticism but de gea wasn't at fault for the 2 goals united conceded @ anfield.

We have definitely lost the league.
that is the annoying thing about the league sometimes.

everyone knows team a is definitely better than team b but team b knows how to beat the remaining teams more than team a.
reminds me of the premier league season of 08/09. liverpool were so much better as a team. they took 6 points off man utd with a humilating 4-1 defeat at old trafford but liverpool couldn't beat wigan, stoke and some other shitty teams that united murdered with obscene score-lines

in the end, united won the league by 4 points!
i know 3 points from those 7 can be taken when real madrid come to nou camp but then 4 points difference might just win it for madrid.
if anyone knows jose mourinho, he does not joke with league games. he does not compromise - he does not mind using the same starting xi for 60 odd games.

it is what sets him apart from alex ferguson, wenger, and most managers who rests players because of sentiments, emotions or whatever.
mourinho is all about himself and results. nothing else matters. so if ronaldo feels he would get a rest because his girlfriend has just put to bed, then he should think again. guardiola would actually rest such player. fergie would too and wenger would rest other 3 players to escort van persie to the hospital.

mourinho wouldn't and this is why he's so successful. he takes no prisoners!

@Emperoh,
It's pretty obvious that our lack of creativity in the middle is the reason we can't shift into another gear when playing top sides.
Early in the season when we ran amok, they said this seasons side was far better than last.To. Cleverley got injured and Anderson got clueless. The injuries have piled up but there is no excuse for us to be out of 3 competitions by January ending, mostly in humiliating circumstances. There was no reason forus to lose yesterday's game as Liverpool weren't on their game.Like you said we didn't up our game to take the tie.
What is baffling is Fergie's treatment of Berbatov.Playing Welbeck ahead of him is a disgrace.Welbeck simply isn't good enough to start. The boy is clumsy, daft, silly and irritatingly ruins our forward play with his unintelligent approach to link-up play. Then when you go down late in the game you bring in Berba for Welbeck to try to salvage things.DB9 didn't even get a kick in after wasting away all game (and all season).
Then we have bumbling David De Gea who should have been back up to Anders Lindergaard but was thrust into the number one this season. The result? One error-filled game after the other that has contributed immensely to our season coming unhinged at the seams.
Don't expect us to win the title this season. We have testing visits to Chelsea and Spurs. We need 6points from those ties to keep  the title chase alive.Simply don't see how we're going to achieve this given what we saw yesterday.
It's all down to Fergie and his signings over the summer(failing to sign the right players),wrong use of players (like letting folks like Diuof rot on the bench after courting him only for him to be sold) and inability to play people to their strengths (playing people out of position), and just thinking he'll get away with stuff just because he's Fergie.
i get the drift of your anger but i really don't think we played particularly bad yesterday.
in all honesty, that we were able to match liverpool and outplay them for most parts of that game is a testament of the squad strength.
we were almost barcelona like in the middle of the park but with welbeck being a bambi, all the good play amounted to shyte. . .waiting for chamotex's defence of welbeck on these pages.

this team did not kick a ball last night

---------lindegaard----------
--jones - rio - vidic - fabio---
---fletcher - cleverley - anderson
nani-----rooney----ashley young

one cannot argue the team above isn't stronger than the one that played last night or this team wouldn't have murdered liverpool on their home soil.
in a nutshell, it all boils down to the injury list that is now bordering on ridiculous/madness.
with a better team on display with the cutting edge, we would have won convincingly.

now to de gea. . . .
he was out of sorts in some phases of the match but he was not culpable for the goals conceded.
for the first goal, our defenders did not jump. agger was the only player that jumped in the box as our defenders were busy doing tug of war.
none of the defenders even looked up to contest the ball. it was that disgraceful.

for the second goal, evra's walk-about was the fault.
his position as reina kicked that ball was atrocious. then with the ball appearing to fall where andy caroll was, evra should have at least anticipated caroll winning that ball and quickly falling into position in front of kuyt. evra reacted too slow to the danger and at that distance and the speed of the shot, de gea was powerless to stop it.

we played very well. i was surprised we could play that well with scholes and carrick.
however, welbeck was a disgrace. his techniques, football intelligence and finishing were his undoing once again.
the number of chances he squandered by applying the wrong method does not bode well for him.
in my opinion, if he had made one of those few chances count in the end, we wouldn't have lost. on a day we were missing our star players, welbeck should have stood tall. he was rather disappointing.

Even Johnny Evans pings accurate 60 yard passes, the question is how well/consistently.
you are a big olodo. you need to stop this bush man's way of debating.
iniesta or any of the other barca players can hit long passes accurately but that is not barcelona's dna.
if you have been paying attention to details, you would see that even cesc fabregas has been reducing his high-risk passing of "hit n hope".
it will not work in barcelona. guardiola would not accept it. barcelona are a possession team - they take low risks with their passing and that's how it is.

Selective amnesia. . . Iniesta has never registered double digits after 8 years as a Barca regular. In fact just two seasons ago he managed just ONE GOAL IN 42 APPEARANCES in all competitions! cheesy cheesy
because he doesn't have to.
michael carrick did not score a league goal last season and the penultimate season. does that mean he's not better than any of the goal scoring midfielders in arsenal? does alex song have the intelligence of michael carrick? does diaby?
like i have told you, it depends on who the gaffer has made the outlet to launch attacks.
dani alves is the 2nd highest goal maker in barcelona, by your idiotic logic. . . .alves is better than xavi, iniesta, pedro, etc. grin

and of course, leighton baine is better than cahill. grin

The same Puyol that is being outperformed by Mascherano(a midfielder) in defense? The same Pedro that has been struggling for a while and is now mostly an impact-sub?
mascherano can't get a game in barcelona. he's a surplus to requirements.
to actually think a young sergio busquets has displaced mascherano(premier league's best defensive midfielder) and yaya toure(the current best defensive midfielder in england) says a lot. puyol will always be puyol. mascherano cannot hold a candle to him unless when puyol is not fit.

When Iniesta and Pedro have a solitary league goal between them all season, they obviously need his productivity!!!
they don't have to score league goals. they are not in the team to stay on top of the statistics charts
iniesta and pedro make the team because they fit into barcelona's mode of playing. cesc fabregas does not fit into it.

fabregas is not a one-touch passer - that part of his game is lacking and this is why he has no fixed position.
he has to fill in the roles of injured players(david villa or pedro). if cesc is that brilliant, why can't he displace iniesta, xavi or even busquets in the midfield?
surely, guardiola and other decision makers in barcelona must have seen cesc's statistics and yet he cannot displace the players with a solitary goal between them.

guardiola has messi and dani alves to get the stats, he does not need iniesta/pedro to do that.

Nuccah can't you read? -

He has played better and more productive football, what other basis is there?

"WHY" Silva has been better is irrelevant, the fact is he has. Whether Iniesta has been rubbish because Pep chose to play him at center-back or in goal is his own cup of zobo. Silva will still outscore and out-assist Iniesta if he replaced him in the Barca squad today because he has the ability to do so while Iniesta has been proven not to over the years; irrespective of the presence of Messi or Xavi. Messi and Xavi haven't stopped Cesc from copping 14 goals and 12 assists despite starting only 20 games. Men lie, cougars lie, numbers don't! grin grin
scoring and out-assisting is not the theme of the barcelona squad.
winning games and touching the ball more than their opponents is their aim.

if cesc fabregas is rated so highly, why can't he displace iniesta?
surely, his statistics is not a secret or are you saying you are the only one who knows about it?

mr ritchboy, guardiola does not send cesc's 400 goals/1000 assists per month.
it means shyte. in arsenal and england in general, those stats mean something. . . . .in guardiola's barcelona, it means shyte.
messi gets the lion share of the goals/assists. . . .followed by dani alves. by your logic, alves is better than xavi. grin

What does the success-rate of through balls have to do with Cesc Fabregas? If Jesus played football he'll also have better accuracy with simpler passes to slightly/un-marked teammates than through-balls which have to beat 1-3 defenders and possibly a covering goalie not to mention the recipient anticipating the direction/trajectory of the pass.
now you get the drift. . . .
the manager wants those safe passes. . . .high risk passes lose barcelona the ball.
guardiola has told you times without number that without the ball, they cannot function very well. . . .so cesc is like a deer caught in the headlights.
he's clueless.

Good point. In the same situation Iniesta is liable to play a safe pass that amounts to nothing 99% of the time and drugs-up his pass accuracy, Cesc would spot a run and try and pick out a key-pass. If he tries it 6 times, 2 may be intercepted, 2 may be misplaced, and 2 will create genuine scoring opportunities, one of which will be converted. No risk no reward.
barcelona have been playing with no risks before cesc joined them. . . . .their football has no risk at all.
it's the reason they have been so successful. guardiola has stated that they play short passes because when they lose it, it's easier for them to hunt in packs and get the ball back asap.

in Snooker you have something called percentage play, you assess your options, and then you make a decision based on your assessment. you might decide that you have a 10% chance of making a pot, but you know you will leave the cue ball safe, so you take that shot on, rather than the 50% chance of a pot where the cueball will leave your opponent in amongst the balls.

barcelona play this game every time. if they don't think there is a very good chance of scoring, they will pass the ball back and start the attacking again, their front men will all change positions and try to pull the opposition out of shape, if that doesn't work, they will do it again. there is very little risk involved.

even if you watch closely, messi's mazy runs are calculated to perfection. his team mates identify the area he is most likely to come unstuck and they will get to that area and close down all angles. that way, if he is tackled, they are usually the first to pick up the ball if it rebounds into open play, or the tacklers options are limited. likewise for a throughball, the player the throughball is intended for will be the only one trying to peel off the defenders shoulder, while his team mates drop back to cut out the angles or steal the ball if it is intercepted.

This is precisely why Cesc is head and shoulders above every other player in the world with over 100 assists in the last 5 and a half seasons alone and Iniesta can't hold a candle to it! cheesy
assists + goals = shoulders above every other player in the world even though he's shyte during games.
this simple way of analysing football must make you a genius.

this logic also tells me ryan giggs played better than michael carrick at the emirates even though we learnt this:
ritchboy, limit this daft way of debating to your beer parlour or office lounges, don't bring it online.
goal + assist stats cannot be the only parameter to rate a player. other factors come into play which statistics cannot record.
in technical aspects and football intelligence alone, iniesta is miles above cesc.

https://tf-chalkboards.s3-website-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/images/04ZpX.png

cesc would soon be sold back to roma - he's finding it difficult to impose the direct football he learnt in england @ barcelona.
he's useless to barcelona if he cannot keep the ball.
Mr. Noiseless,

For someone who chose "noiseless" as his internet user I.D, you seem to make alot of noise. Not just noise, screeching, annoying noise.

I will just refer you to some of your rants and see if you can make any sense of it yourself and maybe explain to me where you are going with it;

Now, Its not in contention that a bombing of epic proportions occured last week in Kano, but where do you get off with the fact that it was specifically targeted at Southerners? How does a bombing on a Friday, in a Northern State be targeted at Non-muslims?! How does your mind work please?!

Lets be logical and think about this;

1. Friday is the day of worship for muslims and Kano being a Northern state is also a Muslim state. So therefore, most of the people walkiing around that eventful Friday would be Muslims going or coming from the mosque for/after their  Jummah (service). So it is safe to say that if the chosen day was a friday and not a sunday, the most likely target would be Muslims (which we all know are predominantly Northerners and even Westerners) and not Southerners/Easterners as you and many other Biafran apologists have been touting.

2. Why would these terrorists which we have all come to "agreeably believe" are Muslims/Northerners choose Easterners as their primary target, and yet blow up churches and Mosques as well?! Isnt their something wrong here?! Why even blow up the North where the possibility of a relative being caught in the resultant collateral damage would be very high?! WHy not target a place like say Lagos (because a hit on any Southern or Eastern State would be too forward). I can bet you that if Boko Haram targets say Tin Can, they would have a higher Igbo Kill rate than they would hitting a "PENTECOSTAL" church. If they hit a Catholic church sef, they would achieve a higher igbo kill count than they would hitting a Winners Chapel or Deeper Life which everyone knows have a higher Yoruba population than they do Igbos or Southerners in General.

3. With the exception of the bombing/Drive-by shooting of a few bars (which by the way isnt quite much in occurence and never achieved any reasonable kill count), what real eveidence do you have to support an anti-igbo/igbo genocide agenda in this Northern Nigeria bombing saga?! I would love for you to articulate how you arrived at this conclusion.

Please explain this entire paragraph and what your point is. All the "anti-igbo" boko haram agenda messages I have recieved have all come from Igbos, not non-igbos. I think you may need to take a serious chill pill. An over-bloated sense of importance can be very dangerous. If only Igbos would take the time out to relax and look beyond thier paranoia, we would see that this Boko Haram thing has a bigger agenda than "Igbo genocide". It is when people like you start spreading this type of propaganda that the Boko Haram folks achieve what they want. We Igbos need to get over ourselves, we already have so many internal issues killing us that Boko Haram need not waste a bomb on us.

I think you need Jesus.
okija-juju is one brilliant chap. . . .this is so articulate.

i would not bring out wrong stats to justify any opinion.
there are some very few players in europe you cannot use statistics to define cos what they bring to the team is too complex for statistics to define.
a very fine example is iniesta and xavi. they are easily the most gifted midfielders in the planet and yet they record midfield statistics lower than nani, malouda, david silva, van der vaart, ozil, etc. . .

should it then mean that xavi and iniesta are not productive? of course not.
barcelona take low risks with the way they operate - this is why they are the most successful team around.
if they think the chance of them losing the ball is higher than them scoring, they would retreat and build another attack from scratch. the long boring short passes is their way of staying patient and looking for opening. . .

Maybe Only In Nigeria,Kids or no Kids, people now walk away,
But really i don't see how the number of years of relationship affects true and Genuine Love,Marriage is even a Life time,
Divorce is now an Option and i am sure you know the divorce rate both in Nigeria and every other part of the world
but your friend is nigerian, same as your brother. . . .my point still stands!
even in the other parts of the world, do you really think just any man can afford a divorce? really?

because you see celebs and co opting for divorce, you think it's that simple?
if only you knew. . . . .if only. . .

you nigerians have the propensity to believe nonsense served in your plates.

ibb is nigeria.
in spite of the 1 billion and one criminal activities the guy has been alleged to have committed, he has never been arrested before, never mind locked up.

if there's one man in nigeria important than all the other 200 million population, that man is babangida.

Frankly, her parents are so relevant, if she were an ''adult'' why is she trying to hide it from her parents?
because parents in nigeria don't understand the concept of "adulthood" until that child is married.
even if one is 30 and one stays under their roof, they still treat one as a child.

ritchboy:
"Hoof" suggests a hopeful ball aimed at a target man, Cesc doesn't do that, stop lying. A precise 60 yard pass cannot be called "hoofing" based on distance alone. Iniesta doesn't do it as well or as often as Cesc because he simply doesn't have the ability.
if you think iniesta does not have the ability to ping 60 yard pass, then you are on your own.
that fabregas was doing it in england is because of the way english teams play. have you seen fabregas pinging the same long balls in barcelona?
you wouldn't see it in years to come. they don't play that way. guardiola doesn't encourage it. they must pass at short distances so that if they lose it, they can easily press and get it back. that is the guardiola way.

Again, he is "not interested" in getting into those positions because he doesn't have the ability to do so. Cesc also acts as an orchestrator/string-puller(blimey, the whole attacking 5/6 at Barca chip in), it doesn't stop him from getting into the box and scoring goals.
yet, it was iniesta that scored in the final of the world cup. what about that goal suggests he cannot get into dangerous positions and finish exquisitely.
see how he aimed the shot across the goal unlike most strikers who would have gone near post. when iniesta gets into those positions where he's ahead of others, he scores.

Barcelona were also fine before Villa/Sanchez/Pedro etc arrived, how does it affect the price of alomo? Cesc is Barca's most productive player after Messi with 14 goals and 12 assists from just 20 starts:
they don't need his productivity.
the magnificent seven in barcelona are: puyol, pique, xavi, iniesta, messi, busquets and pedro
barcelona have not lost a game in which those seven players started. fabregas, sanchez, alves, etc are surplus to requirements.

it's barcelona carrying fabregas along, not the other way round. they were doing extremely well before his arrival.
like i have said, they don't need his productivity.

What has Iniesta added this season?
intangibles!
actions not recorded by statistics. watch his game play and see what he does.

I have already told you why this train of though should be derailed:
why should it be derailed.
because of assists and goals. . . . .you are saying cesc is better than iniesta.
because of assists and goals. . . . .why isn't nani better than xavi. why isn't david silva better than xavi.

abeg, it's a new year - i shall not tolerate any attempt to distort the facts.

Since you've conveniently limited your stats to league games, Cesc has 9 goals and 5 assists in La Liga, Iniesta has 4 assists and NOT A SINGLE GOAL by February!!! LOLOL
Of course Silva has been better than Iniesta this season, no question!
on what basis has silva been better than iniesta?
the way different teams play is the pointer. it depends on who the manager has chosen to be the outlet to produce goals, assists and etc.

silva is the most creative player in man city. it makes sense that he's racked that many assists.
if he joins barca, he would be vastly insignificant with xavi, messi, etc eating the lion share of his statistics.
to open your mouth on a public forum and say silva is better than iniesta based on the leadership roles in their respective teams is a tad disgraceful. grin

These figures were collected over a short period of time and are limited to league games. In any case the first two thirds are negligible. In the final third, Cesc attempts more final-balls(which are like 3 or 4 times more liable to interception/misplacement) than Iniesta, try again.
if they are more liable to interception/misplacement, how then is fabregas the better passer of the ball than iniesta?
ritchboy has shot himself in the foot. the only reason cesc's passing in the final third is lacking is because he hoofs it and hopes.
iniesta times his passes and if there's any single doubt his passes would be intercepted, he then tries an alternative route.

it's called football intelligence!

OH MY GOD! ARE SOME FOOL REALLY TRYING TO JUSTIFY BOKO HARAM FOR REAL ? IF SO THEN YOU ARE THE WORST HUMAN BEING ON EARTH,

like it or not, terrorist group or whatever has come to stay as far as islam is concern in Nigeria. The option is to invite western countries army into this case but lets even take countries that has did the same and ask, did terrorism stop there ? hell no! instead the case worsen, i dont actually know if ppl see muslim as i see them? their mode of thinking is totally different from ordinary ppl. So Nigeria govt should never worry about dialogue! terrorism has come to stay! guys get it into your skulls

my suggestion is that if actually they want arabian law/sharia or whatever to their states, then why not? give them what they want afterall they are the majority there and let there be peace for goodness sake! the christians there are minority, remember guys we are in Democracy and the majority got the decision so why the phuck will there own be different instead of ppl dying like cows. My fellow christians up there dont get mad at me, if actually that some americans or christians can live in arab countries and obey their law, why not northern Nigeria.

You are a joker. The constitution says Nigeria is a secular state where people are free to practise their faiths within the confines of the law without fear of persecution.
there's a huge disconnect between what's written in your constitution and the reality on ground. i expect someone like you to know that.

nigeria is not a secular state. . . .if it is, a certain religious group would not attempt to impose their religious beliefs on 160 million nigerians. can you see such happening in the united states, the united kingdom or the other true secular states? no chance!

in nigeria, the secularity that is supposed to be unbiased and neutral has been severely compromised. there's no secularity in the political institutions and therefore it's unable to produce social capital among the citizenry. the secularism in nigeria is a liability instead of an asset that the constitution describes it to be.

in a nutshell, we are a multi-religious state.
anyone who believes otherwise is deluded.

Just as backward as sentencing a man to death by hanging for stealing a car stereo or maybe a quicker way firing squad. in the US a supposedly tolerant, forward, mordern sysrtem of life, they even use letha injection and sometimes they fry you (electric chair)

Our secular system of government that entrenches corruption where a ''microscopic few who have piloted the affairs of the country live in peasanted luxury and propensit solititude'' and the majority die in poverty. a system which orders its security forces to summarilly execute  people. A system which wipes out whole towns (Odi & Zaki biam). The list goes on.

I do not support sharia and I'll be honest and say I'll be the first to skip town if sharia was implemented where I lived but maybe these BH guys have had enough of secular governments failure and just wish to try something else out. Like I said earlier, there is no such thing as a dumb request in democracy. Nigeria is secular state but remember we passed a law banning homosexuality based on our christian and muslim moral values.
nigeria is not a secular state - it's a multi-religious nation.

I am afraid terrorist and ethical can not go together in the same sentence. Ethical terrorist  is an oxymoron.

If MEND was against pollution, why hasnt the pollution stopped? (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/dec/22/nigerian-shell-oil-spill) the story in the link tells you about the worst oil spill in Nigeria in over a decade. MEND members were just out to get their own share of the National cake.

BH say they want sharia (sounds reasonable to me) and do not want western education (completely dumb and they have the choice of not sending their wards to western schools). In a democracy, you can ask for anything. It just has to be debated, you cannot reject it outright, no matter how dumb it sounds. I am sure you have heard of people in the west asking for the most ridiculous of man made religions like Jedi to be accepted by the state.
stop making your own arguments, boko haram fan boy.
i said the idealism must be ethical. . .

who is a terrorist? any individual or group of individuals who use violence to achieve their political goals
it is what they fight for that has to be reasonable not the group. . . . .bend your head around that!

that boko haram wants to impose sharia on 160 million nigerians is dumb, unreasonable and disgustingly foolish!

He also lashed Niger-Delta leaders over their possessive comments on President Goodluck Jonathan with disregard to the sensibilities of other Nigerians, who voted overwhelmingly for Jonathan at the polls.

Insisting that Nigeria has come to stay as an independent country, Babangida listed critical issues, which he said were not negotiable in a united Nigeria, irrespective of challenges and perceived differences. They are indivisibility of the nation, capitalistic nature of Nigeria and states as federating units.

According to him, these issues must not be touched as the doctrine of Nigeria settlement had come to stay, adding that for three years during the civil war, Nigerians fought for the unity of the country.

The former military leader urged the media to desist from reporting stories that centre on Christian South and Moslem North because “wherever you go in this country, you will find in the North there are Christians as much as we have Muslims. In the South, it is the same but I think the emphasis is on Christian South , Muslim North.”

i can understand why mend was against the government. till now, i cannot understand what boko haram want from the government.
what's there to dialogue with this bunch of murderers? mend were against the pollution of their environment plus the fact that government activities on their soil has rendered the people destitute.

What do you mean by 'it must work"? He accepts his fate and fake the rest of the marriage?
it must work because divorce is not an option.
men tend to drift when they are presented with options. in courtship, there's an option to walk away.
in marriage, it's not that simple.

I still strongly Believe that the decision to get tired is primarily an individual choice, If you really want something to work,You make it work.either marriage or relationship,
which relationship is easier to walk away from. courtship or marriage?
with kids in the equation(marriage), how do you intend to walk away from that?

My ex girlfriend once complained that i was acting like i was tired of Her,And immediately she said that,I started doing things that i used to do when i first met her,and it worked even though she eventually broke my heart sad
if it worked she wouldn't have broken your heart.

Good, we are getting somehwere. You are begining to see that there is no such thing as a good terrorist. So if the govt can negotiate with MEND, a known terrorist group, I see no reason why they cant to the same with BH
except that mend did not bomb mosques or put innocent lives at risk in their own time.
they simply attacked government projects, damaged oil pipes and kidnapped foreign workers(0 casualty).

boko haram have killed men, women and children that are innocent.
