Anyiamaka:Why are you being unintelligent? You are the one defending Wike. I am telling you that Wike lied if he ever mentioned that he had less than N500,000 at the time he was being screened as minister. Wike has always been known to be a thief. So, it makes no sense trying to imply that he only started stealing after he became minister. I lived in Port Harcourt all the time Wike was LGA Chairman, Chief of Staff and Minister. Did I write in Spanish that made it difficult for you to understand? What you wrote earlier portrayed Wike as one who only started looting after he became minister, when truthfully, he had been looting for practically all his life. Therefore, between you and I, you are the one defending corruption, and must turn a new leaf. |
MikoB:If you can be honest, which region and religion do you belong to? At least, that tells us whether or not you are being sentimental. As for me, I am a freethinker and from the Southeast. So, how am I being sentimental for suggesting a Lawan / Onu ticket? Nobody is saying that Obi won't get majority votes over Onu. That is not in contention. The point is, with Onu, the APC is sure of 25% votes in the SE. The party certainly has structures in Southern Nigeria, and won't fold it arms. |
Anyiamaka:The NE deserves the presidency ahead of the SE. Mind you, I am from the Southeast. Name one person from the NE who has presided over Nigeria, aside from way back in 1966 under the parliamentary arrangement that produced Balewa as prime minister? The Southeast has had about 7 years of presiding over the country with Azikiwe and Ironsi. Secondly, it is very untrue to claim that Wike had less than N500,000 prior to becoming Minister of State for Education. Wike was Chairman of Obio/Akpor, one of Nigeria's top 5 richest LGAs, for 8 years; and followed up by emerging the Chief of Staff to Governor Amaechi. He worked as DG in Amaechi's Governorship Campaigns. As for Obi, forget him! He won't be president. He didn't do well enough as Anambra governor. There is nothing outstanding about him. Anyone who knows me know I am not a Wike man, but it is important that, as people, we say what we know. |
MikoB:Osinbajo can't win Atiku. How did you measure Osinbajo's acceptability? Social media? Or by grammar? Lawan can beat Atiku, as long as he has Buhari's backing. Osinbajo has never been tested in any election. It would amount to huge gamble to give Osinbajo the ticket. Lets just watch and see. But I believe that Lawan/Onu or Lawan/Amaechi ticket is good to go. Lawan got age, his membership of the ruling party and better public image as advantage over Atiku. |
stawarts:You still dey kindergarten for Nigerian politics. Make I leave you. What was Shagari's pedigree when he emerged as president in 1979? Go and find out the personalities he contested against. Was Shagari's pedigree anywhere close to Lawan's, who as at today is Nigeria's number 3 man, before he became president? Just wait and learn politics within the next one week. |
StrongandMighty:You arent wrong in your analysis. The easiest way for Atiku to emerge as Nigeria's president is for the APC to make the grave mistake of producing a Southern candidate. And that is what Buhari will not gamble. Ahmad Lawan is most likely the man for APC while Ogbonnaya Onu may be his running mate. It is very important for the APC that her presidential candidate is from the same region as Atiku. With that Buhari can focus on wresting as much votes from Kwankwaso in the Northwest for Lawan. With Onu as VP candidate, substantial votes would be wrestled from Obi in the Southeast, while all candidates and parties take a huge dive into the Northcentral, Southwest and Southsouth pools, to tidy up loose ends. Atiku won't be president in the end sha. |
ScamHunter:Mobilize all you want, Obi is not going to be Nigeria's president. All these lies and packaging won't work. How many struggling Anambra youths did he give jobs to as governor? A man who couldn't see the necessity of putting in place a solid LGA leadership in the state for 8 whole years? How would anyone talk of effective national leadership and delivering democracy dividends to the grassroots with a dysfunction LGA system? I am yet to see anyone who embodies the word mediocrity as Peter Obi. Lets start with you listing his landmark projects in Anambra? On your mark, set, go..... |
stawarts:What was Jonathan's pedigree when he won against Buhari in 2015? What was Yar'dua's pedigree when he won against Buhari in 2007? Lawan would beat Atiku hands down in the North. He has Buhari's influence to ride on. Atiku has a bad reputation in the North, and across the country. You go soon get sense sha! |
Kyase:It is not true. APC very well expected an Atiku win. APC always knew that Atiku would emerge from the PDP, hence Lawan was asked to pick up the nomination form. It is likely going to be Atiku versus Lawan. Ogbonnaya Onu was used to wedge Obi should the latter emerge from PDP, while Lawan wedges Atiku in the Northeast. Both Atiku and Lawan will contest the votes in the Northeast while the Buhari magic delivers the Northwest. |
iCauseTrouble:See your shabby analysis. We, Southerners, how many years e go take us to sabi politics sef? Buhari can't support Atiku. They are of different political parties, among other critical reasons. Buhari will ensure APC fields a candidate from the same region as Atiku, most likely Ahmad Lawan, to contest votes with him in the Northeast, while he (Buhari) influences his region (the Northwest) to deliver bulk votes for Lawan. APC will likely pick her VP (Ogbonnaya Onu) from the Southeast to try to woo Ndigbo back to power since Alex Ekwueme's vice presidency of 1983. As a matter of fact, the NE is the most marginalized in terms of power sharing, followed by the Southeast. So, it is a done deal. Lawan is superior to Atiku, especially in terms of considerations of age and public perception. Lawan is, most likely, Nigeria's next president. |
Odingo1:Oga, it is Atiku versus Lawan of the APC. |
I tonididdy:You vote, you no vote.....who e concern? Ahmad Lawan is the next President. Ogbonnaya Onu is likely his Vice. |
hopman98:Obi can't come ahead of Kwankwaso in a presidential election. Maybe, 4th. |
successmatters:Both are Ebele.... The Southeast saw Jonathan as their own. How about the Azikiwe he added to his name? Would you distinguish that as Azikiwemi and Azikiwechukwu too? |
iCauseTrouble:Na today you know? No single sensible person dey for PDP. People wey raise N10 to N15 billion more than total estimated project cost during their National Secretariat Building fundraising, yet the building remains uncompleted till date. Who takes them seriously? |
BlazinGlory40:Make e no be say you take burukutu o. Who dash Wike Southeast or parts of Nassarawa, Kano, Abuja and Kastina? Dankwambo is with Wike? Where exactly are they, Ogbunabali or Rumuepirikom? Oga, go find wetin go douse the effects of wetin you take abeg. And stop to dey take wetin your head no fit carry. |
successmatters:Find another thing talk abeg. Jonathan won states like Taraba, Adamawa etc, in the North, despite the Ebele in his name . So, what is the point in your comment? |
shizzle1:If you aren't senseless, you'd be listing Obi's accomplishments in Anambra. I dare you. List his accomplishments. Not every Igbo person is a mediocre like you. |
Penguin2:Una too overhype this Wike sef. Has his way with which courts? Because Odili wife help am for Supreme court abi? Well, Justice Mary Odili has retired. Wike should enjoy his final moments in the limelight because oblivion beckons. |
GreyLaw:What has being the first to travel across Nigeria got to do with making a good leader? Ok. To make it simple. Obi has had the rare privilege to lead, right? Could you list Obi's landmark accomplishments in Anambra? I have knelt down with him (Obi) sitting and holding my hands at a function at the Eko Hotels in Victoria Island, while we had a brief one on one. He is not pragmatic. He is full of theories and unworkable comparisons. Our chance meeting was after he emerged as VP candidate to Atiku, and just few months to the 2019 General Elections. This is not about hate or denigrating anyone. Are you from Anambra? Do you know Obi really well? How much respect does he command in Anambra? I know Obi well. I know and interact with some of his top previous aides, till date. I hear and analyse their views dispassionately. I am from a town less than 10 minutes from Agulu, Obi's town. Leadership isn't about theorizing. It is about will, courage and accomplishments. Obi, for 8 years, didn't have the will and courage to build formidable LGAs institutions, to strengthen leadership at the grassroots. He could not conduct LGA elections in his 8 years as governor. Should we delve into his poor quality road projects across the state? Anambra people have rejected him twice with the failings of Obaze and Ozigbo. What are his legacies in Anambra? You need to study people like Tinubu, Buhari, Kwankwaso.....to understand what I am saying, especially in the light of anyone who wants to preside over Nigeria. In the midst of the unsavoury things you hear of Buhari, Tinubu, Kwankwaso etc, go and investigate their track records of performance in public office.... Why is it so hard for Lagosians to reject Tinubu or people from Kano to reject Kwankwaso? Why does Buhari effortlessly influence who governs Kastina? These things aren't rocket science. Obi needs to go back and learn how these men command such consistent, loyal, strong, progressive following and respect. Na president him wan be o, no be governor! |
PrinceOfLagos:Na wetin I dey tell people, we Southerners are all mouth. See as Buhari wey dem claim say na NEPA certificate e get, dey teach dem politics 101. For PDP, you see as Atiku don play Obi out. He sacrificed Obi to advance his bargain with PDP governors, since the governors are insisting that he picks one of them as running mate, for him to get their support. Make we just sidon dey watch Buhari chess game. By the way, where is the screaming Wike? E go soon do am vuuuuum na anya. |
ScamHunter:Obi is lackluster, mediocrerish and grossly unprepared for such a lofty ambition. That is the fact of the matter. |
specialmati:You are right. Obi isn't a good guy though. |
Gandollaar:Abirun! |
ybalogs:Who says that the South East is the only region that has not produced the President since 1999? Why do we refer to grossly ignorant people as pundits? Has the North East produced Nigeria's president (or prime minister) since after the death of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Belawa from Bauchi state? Who is even talking of since 1999? If we assume prime minister role as the same as role of president, Balewa served for 6 years before his demise. Murtala Muhammed, Shehu Shagari, Muhammadu Buhari, Sani Abacha and Umar Musa Yar'dua were / are all from the Northwest. Put together, they did roughly 18 years. Yakubu Gowon, Ibrahim Babangida and Addulsalam Abubakar are from the Northcentral. Put together, they did roughly 18 years. Olusegun Obasanjo and Ernest Shonekan are / were from the Southwest. Put together, they did 12 years. Nnamdi Azikiwe and JTU Aguiyi-Ironsi were from the Southeast. Put together, they did 7 years. Goodluck Jonathan is from the Southsouth. Jonathan served for roughly 6 years as president. If there is one region that should and deserves to produce the next president, it should be the Northeast, while the Southeast deserves the veepee position. This is in the best interest of equity and fairness. |
helinues:Wike can't battle Atiku. I don't see him coming even second in the primaries. Atiku will have Tambuwal and Saraki to contend with. And dem no reach Atiku chop. Like you rightly pointed out, Wike has no real friends anywhere. Dem just dey chop him money. . |
RaptObserver:You sabi analyze politics in Nigeria. I keep saying it Obi doesn't understand how politics is played in Nigeria. He left tiny APGA to join PDP, one of Africa's largest political parties, and even emerged as Vice Presidential Candidate within 5 years of joining the PDP. Isn't that a great trajectory? He should have just remained in the party; followed through the party primaries and build from the outcomes. He really misfired. I am not surprised though. With a DG like Doyin Okupe, I was not expecting any brilliance in his political strategy and executions. |
StrongandMighty:Oga, it is Obi and his people that are looking for a platform for him to continue his aspiration (in a bid to save face), not the other way round. Parties aren't jostling for him. If he was so indispensable, PDP will do everything to keep him. Next week, everything about party primaries go end, and we will know where Obi stands. His problem is, he has never been consistent. Just four years ago, he was Atiku's running mate. Few weeks ago, he was at Atiku's presidential declaration. Then, he declared and commenced consultations. Now, he has withdrawn and resigned from the PDP, and he is looking for another platform. Whoever thinks NNPP or any serious party will just surrender its presidential ticket to Obi may be more sick than he / she realizes. Besides, Kwankwaso is way more experienced and electorally valuable than Obi, any day. It will amount to foolhardiness if NNPP takes the risk of making Obi its presidential candidate. |
OfficialAwol:You no sabi the man, Babagana Zulum. |
