See,take it or leave it.There are 2 major ways to compete in business:

1) Pricing
2) Product differentiation

In a market where there exist a Monopoly that has already made its capital outlay back manyfolds, price war may just kill you quickly. Then you're left with Number 2.

Now the question to answer is why exactly are millions addicted to DSTV yet in their minds they dislike them? My answer: Live EPL and UCL top matches.

To compete with No.1 strategy,you must have patient capital from deep pocket investors.

To compete with No.2,you must go after that Unique Value Proposition.

I don't see TSTV equipped with any of these.

That HiTV failed does not mean dat other satellite TV won't not succeed. Don't u tink this TSTV has done some underground work, perhaps studied y HiTV failed nd picked some idea from d lessons of HiTV failure.
As for startimes I knew they wia bound to fail. I cud not see that collab wit NTA, a non functional civil service as something that would yield gud result in the long run.

My issues with TSTV:

1) Poor start: You don't launch out when you ain't ready to distribute decoders,it shows lack of proper plan

2) Website: This looks unprofessional with the font sizes and colors.i can already project their performance

3) The real reasons why millions patronize the monopolistic DSTV is Soccer- EPL,UCL.Only DSTV have the right for this in 9ja at least for top games.

It's not enough to make noise but you must be well prepared for war in business where a monopoly exist.

And besides, if DSTV does that, it is a win situation for subscribers, that is why we call for competition. DSTV can bring down their packages far lower than what they give people, but because there are no competitors, they dictate as they like.

Have you forgotten when sim was sold 20-40k, and MTN told you per second billing was impossible? It was GLO arrival that crashed it all.

That's what am saying as well,which for me is a positive thing even though it won't last.Customers win for a short while but becos DSTV had broken even and are now just taking profits,unlike when glo came in when mtn was still at customer acquisition phase and not broken even,mtn had to switch fully.Its not gonna happen to DSTV cos the competitors have always been ill-prepared for DSTV.

So in the real sense TSTV also got the right to rebroadcast same league from an exclusive right owner like bein sports, however DSTV too was supposed to sell such rights to other channels too but due to their greediness they refused, same thing they did to Hitv when they lost their broadcast rights they were to sub let their rights to hitv for rebroadcast but they bluntly refused but hitv in their own magnanimity gave them right to broadcast 20% of matches. So all this noise about exclusivity is un called for the truth here is that DSTV has been found out they have been doing it for long unchallenged but right now Nigerians are wise no where in the world would a paytv operator have controll over everything but due to corruption it happened in Nigeria. If u remember clearly even the senators are becoming tired of the said DSTV when they raised a motion that they should look into their pricing. So in conclusion DSTV had better adjust or leave cause the party is over.

I called one of the dealers in Lagos yesterday and she said decoders and dish will be available on Tuesday evening. She sent her account number to book for it which is legit btw but i need to get reviews first before buying it. My DSTV subscription should expire today so I would most liklikely get TSTV this week.
