Properties / Re: Building A Luxury Block Of Flats: Day-to-day Updates (with pictures) by cooljade(f): 4:56pm On Jun 10, 2011
Very Interesting, I'm loving this. Plan to start my project in Abuja this year by God's grace. I would probably do the same in educating nairalanders and probably getting the best possible deals from merchants here.

so far i have installed a bore hole (550k in 2009), fenced the land and moulded approximately 10,000 blocks. 5000 of which are stone based to be used for the ground floor.

Politics / Re: 'my Brother Was Faking My Voice' Says Okah by cooljade(f): 7:23pm On Oct 15, 2010
@ Beaf, You surely don't know a thing about the NIGERIAN WAY OF CONTRACT DEALING. As Solozzo rightly said, one can oly imagine how low government officials stoop to maximaize profit ever at the detriment of importing counterfit and low standard goods.

My brothers and sisters, if you do your search well into the arms importation you will find out that each government in power settles on one particular importer or arms. During Obasanjo era, arms and ammunition were imported by 2 isreali men, the owner of Mega plaza lagos inclusive. these guns are gotten from russia and ukraine mainly.

Not long , roughly 6 months ago when the contract for ammunition and weapons was about to be given by the defence ministry (the process of award of contract is never by tendering but selection from the presidency and you must be the presidents person to do this) , the isreali guys tried buying into the heart of the president but he didn't want to work with them for obvious reasons, he needed a contractor who would be loyal to him because jobs from the defence ministry and its parastatals are always 500% inflated - this is a fact.

To get down to the issue on ground, I would advice everyone here to keep an open mind and watch as the drama unfolds. Okah might just be a brutal tool of the delta

Politics / Threat From Our Moslem Brothers To Kill Christians At Mid Night by cooljade(f): 11:25pm On Oct 01, 2010
Dear Nairalanders,

I have received forwarded BBms which read

" pls intercede for kaduna and the northern states as there is a strong threat from the moslems to wake up in the mid night and start killing christians. this is not a rumour as a moslem close to a church member told him that they were told in the mosque to do it tonight. The bases of this killing is to avenge the death of some moslems in abuja in the bomb blast by MEND who is a group made up of christians."

Pls pass this word on to as many people as possible. And my dear moslem brothers, pls in the name of God, help spread the bad of this so more innocent people won't die

Politics / Re: Analysis Of Jonathans Ministers by cooljade(f): 11:49pm On Mar 26, 2010
I know the man Chris Ogiemwonyi. He, until forcefully retired by the present GMD of NNPC was the longest serving staff, 34 years. He was supposed to be the right person for the GMD's position in addition to being an engineer. But trust Nigerians as Rilwan Lukman fixed his boy Barkindo.

He has headed several parastatals and was the immediate past chairman of Nigerian Gas Association. He is a very hardworking and honest person. he improved communities in edo state from his salary as a staff in NNPC.

I pray he becomes the minister of petroleum cos he surely knows his onions around the industry.
Politics / Re: Divide Nigeria In Two, Says Muammar Gaddafi by cooljade(f): 10:51pm On Mar 16, 2010
i agree 100% with Gaddafi. Nigeria was formed by the colonial masters for easy of exploitation and not after due consultations with all major tribes and religion and not with the best interest of Nigerians.

It's best we divide the country and if we are to come as one again , there will be serious deliberations with a new constitution and fresh rulers.

Nigeria today is so poluted, bitter, full of anger and will not get better until a constructive strategy comes to play. it's just like building a house with bad or no foundation, no matter how expensive ur fittings or building materials are, it will come crumbling down sooner or later.

We need to have a Nigeria formed out of love and respect for every religon even for our dear traditionalists. Every tribe no mater their status must be treated with love and value.

A divided country will help matters like the Niger Delta crisis which is born out of the same colonial masters and the wrong deeds of thge past PTF which repaired all nothern roads but left the south with death raps.

Anyway, every country will then make do with their God given natural resources. Maybe then, the northerners will learn to appreciate peace.

but where will Kogites like me go? i chose South o

Properties / Borehole! The Deeper: The Better. How True? by cooljade(f): 7:06pm On Mar 10, 2010
Dear Peeps,

I'm just had my borehole dug on my new construction site and here goes my short story of confusion in which i desperately seek ur help in advice.
A reputable borehole driller charged me 500k for a borehole in Abuja. i paid 400 at start which was to cover some soil test he said he needed to do.
He drilled for a couple of days and then told me he approached a rock at 30 meters and got another machine of his to crack the rock. The rock was cracked and he went on for 2 more meters which made the borehole 32 meteres in all. there was a gush of clean water from the point of drilling and everyone was happy and full of compliments for the borehole man. As he was about taking out the hammer used in cracking the rock, it got stuck. He tried all that day and the next but to no avail. He sadly covered that hole and started making another one.

He dug the second hole for only two days and he says he is done at 27 meters.

Nairalanders, I feel the man didn't do as good a job as the first one. probably cos he is scared of the hammer getting stuck. I pleaded with him to make it deeper,, at least 32 meters but he inssisted that he had reached a good spot. He added that if he continues drilling, we might lose all water. what do you advice pls. thanks

1) michelin's high price is based mainly on it's known and registered name.
2) michelin energy saver is the best michelin tyre avilable and also the best compared to other tyre brands ( pls note that Energy brand is one of the lowest michelin brands in Europe)
3) That pirelli and dunlop are as good as michelin if not better
4) michelin varies with country of make

@FHEMMMY, Mr. cooljade is in nigeria. are carfax reports available in the auction venues? do carfax reports indicate a flooded car? you didn't respond on my question about the cost of shipping put by aes shipping.
Autos / Re: Cost Of Car Shipment To Nigeria? by cooljade(f): 2:12am On Nov 24, 2009
@ Fhemmmy, long time. remember me?

Autos / Re: Cost Of Car Shipment To Nigeria? by cooljade(f): 1:53am On Nov 24, 2009
@Kunle, thanks. i contacted AESshipping and some mike guy responded and attached two forms for me to fill and return. i have also asked him the questions you suggested. thanks. but how safe are the cars with AES shipping roro, i'm scared about the stories of theft or dented vehicles. pls advice

Autos / Re: Cost Of Car Shipment To Nigeria? by cooljade(f): 2:13pm On Nov 22, 2009
dear friends esp Adexfem and AMERICANEX and other good hearts.

i'm on hoilday in maryland and want to send cars to nigeria (for family). one mercedes r350 2009 model and one toyota camry 2005 model.

question:

since the mercedes law of no exportation of cars under two years, how do i export this vehicle to nigeria. i bought it brand new from mercedes but have used it here(and still using) for 2 months now. intend shipping by the 14th december.

toyota camry is a used one.

whats the best price to ship roro / container

whats the fastest and most reliable means (i don't want dramatic companies pls)

I read from ur advice that ACL is good and a little pricy, but i also read counter comments from real customers that vehicles stayed for 5 months.

pls advice urgently

Family / Re: Tunisian Woman 'expecting 12 Babies' by cooljade(f): 7:25pm On Aug 23, 2009
I'm surprised most pple here are jubilating. i believe this is an insult to humanity. God didn't make humans breed in multitude, just imagin how cramped, stuffed and squashed they must all be in there, and to think they might not survive is horrible. we are talking about human beings here. Flash back on Nadyia Suleiman's case, she was busy smiling at the cameras while the poor babies fought for dear life under severe medical torture i will call it. Thank God our memories are not ment to be retained that early in life.

I pray that other countries should apply the same fertility rules as UK does, NO MORE THAN 2 EMBRYOS should be planted at a time into a woman. It's okay if a woman conceives multiple naturally, but, once she turns to medicine, she must be contolled. And finally, any woman who purchases them over the couter fertility pills must be arrested. Out of the few success multiple birth stories we read about, so many are lost along the way, so many sufffocate while in the womb, what's the difference btw such women and those that commite abortion or murder. why take such a chance for your own selfish interest. We women must speak out against this animalistic habit some pregnancy challenged women adopt. pls embarassed

C2H5OH , he has the legal right to do what he wants with his will ONLY if he acquired all wealth before marrying the lady. As long as he got some with her support, she is entitled to a part and can challengeit. The man is only going to cause envy and  unhappiness amongst the children when he is no more alive. all kids are from one mother, which is deemed to be a stronger bond than kids from one father. How will some benefit to enable an easier strat in life than others. At the end of the day, his kids and the first man's kids will know no peace and he's EVIL SOUL will forever roam oblivion.

It depends, In Nigeria, No advantages, No disadvantages

Western world, Plenty advantages , No disadvantages (except in terms of divorce and you are at the receiving end and about to lose some of your investment as per settlement fees)

smiley funny! By the time you set your eyes on pretty me, eh, you'll beging writing the will before marriage sef, COOLJADE all the way.

C2H5OH:

lol funny cheesy

what happened to your will?
their father's will?

if he does it out of kindness then fine. he's not obligated to do so.
how come you both worked for the money but he's the only one who gets a say in the will?

lady lady lady

In a typical Nigerian home, men don't buy properties in joint titles i.e husband and wife's names. So at the end of the day, all tangible properties are in his name. As the saying goes, the heart of MAN is wicked , lol, many people don't know love when it comes to material things. GREED steps in and influences his decision on the will.

It will help in advicing the poor lady if she can brief us on the number of years she stayed married to her first and this selfish second husband. If this is how second marriages are , then there's no need to remarry embarassed
Family / Re: My Wicked Second Husband Will,he Remove My First Husband Children Names by cooljade(f): 7:41pm On Aug 21, 2009
@ davidylan, WHERE IS IT WRITTEN THAT HE MADE THE MONEY BEFORE MARRYING THE LADY IN QUESTION? PLS OPEN YOUR BIG EYES AND READ PROPERLY. What i read in the posters first post is that SHE SUFFERED MAKING THE MONEY WITH HIM.

Why do most readers asume that women only marry ready made men, I'm sure she had more money than him sef, Is that not what attracts most single men to divorces or widows with more than one child. yueye men sef GOLD DIGGERS grin
Family / Re: My Wicked Second Husband Will,he Remove My First Husband Children Names by cooljade(f): 7:22pm On Aug 21, 2009
@ poster, your situation is typical to african (particularly our black countried ones). A white man wouldn't care less and usually includes children from past relationships especially if he brought them up under his roof and they call him father.

May i say here that it depends on the relationship btw your kids and him too. If they were into each other and he cut them off, too bad. I have seen instances where step children took care of the step father better than his own kids.

Try speaking with him about it.

If people can include completely strange adopted children in their wills then why won't he include those that came from you? afterall, he met you with them and promised to love you. These children make a part of you.

Worst case senario, YOU CAN CHALLENGE THE WILL and be ready to prove that you stood and supported him through his wealth building years even if you contributed no penny to his property acquistion. Emotional and moral support is much more than cash, and your kids desrve your share of prayers, support, advice and energy you contributed over the years that wore you out.

The mother-in-law to send me packing out of my husband's house isn't born yet, that means, NO MOTHER-IN-LAW CAN EVER SEND ME OUT. instead, she'll be the one to leave and if possible never to return for even a day's visit. Once a woman shows herevil heart openly towards you, letting her into your house is very unsafe. As long as i don't interfer in her personal marital life, she should't smell near mine, angry
