Nigeria doesn't have what it take to compete favourably in many sports in the world, did you see what young South African did in 200metres at Rio,Brazil . Let Nigeria stop wasting scarce resources and channel it to technology development or farming. Farming can't even work because people don't have access to loan in the Banks. Sports sponsorship as far as concerned is a wastage of resources.

my point was crystal clear, I said sports has a potential of employing A lot of people who are passionate about it if only we are ready to develop our sport. I never dabbled into wealth creation and technological advancement but I get your pain. I share a lot of your sentiments.

In Nigeria context I don't see our sport getting such spotlight but I agree with that guy that sport could help better a lot of people's life. what makes a country great is the ability for that country to understand that each individual has his gift and therefore need an enabling environment for his gift to thrive.

I was born into a Catholic family and it's one of the earliest church but you still hear newly formed church condemn Catholics as not been up to to their standard for rating Christianity even though the Bible came through the catholic church.

The reason I made this example is that no matter the reluguon, there must be variation in the concept of that religion same as your Islam. You are not more Muslim than them because they disagree on the basic of who should be the next leader after the death of your prophet.

I honestly am disgusted with what the Sunni leadership of the northern oligarchs are doing. Let them practice their brand of Islam in peace, what are you guys scared of. maybe you fear they might start winning a lot of convert to them.

How I wish we could all embrace goodness, love, kindness as our religion instead of one Deity.

Firstly, I think Religion would continue to destroy Humanity. but let's keep that topic aside for now. The treatment of Shias in Nigeria is not an isolated case, its part of a broader Sunni conspiracy to decimate Shia practising groups all across the world. Look at Yemen, Syria, etc. I know you probably are a practising Sunni but if they had to ban you from ever worshipping, how would you feel. I feel Kaduna state government should be trialled at the Hague for depriving some Nigerians from the most basic fundamental human rights.

Left to me, I would say we would have been better if we can metamorphose into a society were we respect individuals for who they are and try to bring out the best in each other instead of clinging on to different deities that would not help the next person to you.

After watching the final match of the Nigeria Professional league, I logged on to Nairaland to post and read comments about the match and to my greatest surprise nothing about the match or the competition could be found on front-page but the update of the premier league was there. Don't get me wrong, I am not against the premier league but we don't seem to show the slightest amusement for our own. I watched the match and honestly it was fun.

I don't care if you agree with my view but this is one of the reasons we would never grow. we never appreciate and strive to make ours good.

Enugu Rangers won the league after 32 years and what gives me joy is after watching them play on TV, they absolutely merited the title. who knows how the league table would finally stand. which teams are out of the competition and which team would be representing us in Africa. let's discuss

River Niger is very important to Nigeria because a lot of people make their livelihood from the river either fishing, farming, power generation and so many more. apart from that it contributes to our underground water too and it's always a very important landmark for Nigeria.
