I too would have supported someone else if not that we see these crises in the country as a product of the anger of some people that GEJ is a president. I cannot reward that with my vote. Gen Buhari last year made the statement that "An attack on Boko haram is an attack on the North". These kinds of statements made when we declared war on Boko Haram is clearly that of a Boko sympathizer. I am afraid Buhari is a grand mistake we will be making to vote in, the kind that makes you feel ashamed because you feel you have been made a fool of. Indications are that all the lofty things we think of him are not really true. Besides, the picture attached reveals another really terribly irresponsible statement by someone who intends to be a president of Nigeria. I just don't trust that man. If APC was serious they should have picked Fahola. Even the former governor of Kano state might have influenced me away from GEJ. With Buhari and Super-thug Tinubu shouting "Change!!!" it does not look like the kind of change I will desire for my country. https://www.mjemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/buarionsharia.jpeg |

okoyemike: "if voted into power within the next four years, the issue of power will become a thing of the past. Four years is enough for anyone in power to make significant improvement and if I can’t improve on power within this period it then means I cannot do anything even if I am there for another four years”. -GEJ
For sometime now, I had been confused on whom to vote for come February 2015, and I had always advocated that a youth be voted in from another party as we have numerous other parties aside PDP & APC.
However, after careful considerations, I realised that hoping for another party other than APC or PDP to win the presidential election is a wasted hope for many reasons & I would mention four reasons;
1, You all can agree with me that tons of money is needed also to clinch the seat of the presidency and no other party has that privilege than PDP & APC, while the PDP has access to unlimited funds, the APC is not left behind either as they have the backing of former and present government officials that has corruptly enriched themselves.
2, It takes a political party with nationwide spread to win a presidential election
3, It takes popularity on the side of the aspirants too and no other contender is more popular than GEJ nor GMB
4, Aside voting, it takes a party with the machinery to protect its vote to win a presidential election, both PDP and APC has its fair share of former and present top officials.
Let me briefly state the reasons why PDP should go
1, PDP has been in power since 1999 and there is no outstanding achievement so far, please state the outstanding achievement if you know any
2, Past and successive PDP goverment has protected its corrupt members and have even gone ahead to pardon the ones convicted by the court
3, No successive PDP government has ever probed its precedessor which would have kept corruption at bay
4, Over $20B has been spent by PDP government on the power sector, yet the sector is as stagnant as ever
5, GEJ has been marred with corruption, episodes of missing billions of dollars, head of ministry siphoning billions, unpaiud pensions and misappropriation.
The list of PDP's inefficiency and unpatriotic acts is endless but I have to stop here and briefly state four reasons why GMB deserves a chance
1, Just as GMB utterances when he lost in the last election made the Islamic extremists "Boko Haram" aggressive, you all can agree with me that GMB voice is so familiar with the extremists that they may stop the incessant killings when GMB assumes office and for this reason alone, I would vote for him even though we are held to ransom.
2, GMB has proven to be fearless and won't mind probing past government leaders and jailing them if they are guilty thereby putting end to corrupt practices.
3, GMB has proven not be a tribalist as reports has shown that majority of his officials during his military regime were not of Northern extraction.
4, Same set of people has ruled us for over 15years, let give other party a chance
Conclusively, we shall be prepared for a revolution if the Buhari government fails us, if they win anyway.
Sorry for the long write up, discussing Nigeria's political situation can be likened to writing a novel; feel free to add your reasons below:

God bless Nigeria! You know, i wanted an opposition myself. But on seeing the kind of opposition APC was, I decided our country had a better chance of improving with the PDP. As far as the NNPC missing funds are concerned, GEJ said we should scrap the NNPC. It is Nigerians that kicked against it. As far as I am concerned, that still remains a laudable thing to do. |

umarmasoro: you know pple will spend enormous amount of there energy to unearth all the not-so-good comments made by buahri in the past to tarnish his image and incite the masses against him. Personally, I think this is lousy and lazy attempt to score cheap political points. The undoubtful fact remains that GEJ has grossly failed Nigerians, christians and Muslims. He is devoid of an atom of credibility to appeal to the populace once again, thus his campaign machineries will utilize all they have left at there disposal to make him electable, the religious factor, that GMB will islamatize Nigeria. Please how is that possible. How will someone in his right mind believe that somebody has the colossal power to forcefully islamatize him in this age of freedom and civilisation, it has not happened anywhere and certainly not in Nigeria. This is just another desperate attempt by GEJ camp to promulgate a hate campaign against GMB along religious lines. What is most disheartening is the fact that people fall for these things. let's widen our horizon and look beyong the seemingly obvious, free ourselves from prejudice and fairly analyse the past, present and feature regarding the leadership of this country. Am not saying all these because am a muslim so is GMB, no, absolutely Not! Am for GMB against GEJ because I personaly feel buhari is by far superior to jonathan within the bracket of integrity, competence and accountability following deep reflections and disection of the two personalities. In fact let's assume that the religious inclinations of the two be reversed, GEJ muslim and GMB christian, I will certainly go for buhari. This fact does not need Einstein intelligence to reason out! Buhari did not say these things in the 80s. Only last year, Buhari said that ”an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north!! Buhari said in 2001, that he wants to ”spread sharia throughout the federation !! Buhari said in 2001, that muslims should only vote for muslims!! Buhari said in 2001, that ”why should christians be concerned when muslims cut off their limbs under sharia!! Buhari said in 2001, that ”after all, the limbs that are being cut off are muslim ones and not christian so why should the christians bother about it!! You might be enchanted about him but those words are too irresponsible of a man of that age and who inspires to be a Nigerian president. He did not say these words out of a drunken stupor. I cannot believe his extremist inclinations have suddenly been washed away. I think he is just wiser now about keeping his inner thoughts to himself while seeking our votes. In the first place his sense of judgment was poor in thinking that it would not affect his chances of being elected. He has adjusted only because he has experienced first hand the consequences of disrespecting the electorate by using opportunities to make public statements in making irresponsible utterances. In other words, when he was making those statements, he was comfortable in his opinion that those words were just right for him and the public. I can't vote that man. I had planed to vote Shekarau, former Kano governor but now he is in the PDP and is not running. So nothing for the former general for now |

I will support GEJ for the same reason I supported him the last time: I am afraid of the rest. IdiAmin1: My dear, the ship called Nigeria is sinking can't you see? Just like the reasons given by some white people for voting Obama, I don't mind voting the devil himself to fix Nigeria's numerous problems now. Economically, I admit Buhari will not do fantastic except he picks a good team but kill corruption and I bet you, Nigeria's 50% problem will be solved. GEJ is a nice man but he has little or no will to fight corruption. Let Buhari reset the country and give room for a fresh beginning. Please put tribal sentiments aside, let's tell ourselves the truth for once. By the way, I am a core Igboman I am neither Igbo nor northerner, but in today's world, the fear of Jihadists, is an indication of wisdom. It will be expensive to play into their hands. To let them win us not because they took up bows, guns or arrows, but because they seduced us into falling in love with them just so that they can go ahead with a mission they cherish so dearly (islamising Nigeria) and which the rest of us think is just too ridiculous for them to actually be desiring.
One of my biggest problems with Buhari is that it is the northern fanatics that support him and if he wins, I envision a frenzied extremist jubilatory reaction that will not stop immediately after elections, but that will translate into more acts of extremist misdemeanors as these fanatics may very well believe they are naturally supposed to take their victory further.
In the first place, on account of Buhari's previous irresponsible comments, they will already view his victory if he wins, in Jihadist light https://www.mjemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/buarionsharia.jpeg |

Honestly, I started slowly falling for Buhari's charms until I found proof that he actually said these terrible and unintelligent things in 2001. If he said those things then, there is no reason for me to believe he really has changed his position now. It only seems he has found out how expensive the picture it painted of him turned out to be to his ambition. These were his words: “Sharia should be introduced in full across Nigeria…I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria…God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country…
It is a legal responsibility which God has given us, within the context of one Nigeria, to continue to uphold the practice of Sharia wholeheartedly and to educate non-Muslims that they have nothing to fear…What remains for Muslims in Nigeria is for them to redouble their efforts, educate Muslims on the need to promote the full implementation of Sharia law.” Below is a snapshot https://www.mjemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/buarionsharia.jpegAnd here is the link: http://www.mjemagazine.com/retire-general-buari-wants-sharia-law-implemented/ I am certain if you do a search for "I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria" you will find more sources. |

nationwide1: How rich are you for not being beggarly? Your conclusion about my poverty tells a lot about about your paucity of wisdom? When you hear a meow, you do not need to wonder if it was a cat or a dog. In the same vein, the language of the poor is just about universally the same. When they speak, verifications are not needed as to who the speech came from. Your definition of poverty is very likely to be different from mine, but I don't even need to turn it over in my head. By the definition of men like me, you are helplessly poor.
The words that you spoke came from the poor side of your mind. The rewards thereof are comfort and rest in the reasons for which you cannot get the things you want. If you have nurtured the thoughts you expressed here for years, then chances are that you have lived in this comfort for years.
It is typical for someone who has lived (or who is living) like this to vehemently reject any attempt by anyone to take away their conveniently accepted, soothing and consoling reasons for which they cannot have the things they want, or do the things they really want to because then, they have nothing to console them anymore. They have nothing but the stark reality of the undesireables for which they have adopted reasons (actually, excuses) that make it easier for them to live with the pain. |

These are facts that have not been denied in public.
1. Waec wrote to governor Kashim Shettima saying that place was not safe for conducting exams. He, governor Shettia assured them of the safety of the students. WAEC suggested that the venue should be moved to Maiduguri, the state capital if the exams are to hold.
2. There were previous demonstrations on the road to the govt house by those who did not want the exams to take place at all due to safety concerns
3. It was only on the strength of the governor's assurance of safety that the exams got scheduled for Chibok
4. The school was a mixed school but all the boys were asked to leave
5. Every girl who was a relative of a staff of the school was absent
6. After the governor's assurance of safety, the only guard at the secondary school was one old man (who was not even armed).
7. There was not electricity that night in the school. The school had a generator but no one put diesel in it.
8. The Boko-haramites came and took the girls.
9. Now they are being raped and abused. Some probably even sold into slavery in the Middle East.
The issue is the only reason for which the exams ended scheduled for Chibok after so much resistance, was the strength of the word of the governor - who proceeded to do an absolute nothing.
The blood of those girls is on the head of the governor and his collaborators. I do not care what party they belong to. APC or PDP. It is our job to ask the right questions of our leaders and make them accountable. If indeed elements within the Nigerian polity can go so such depths to fulfill certain agenda (the nomenclature of which we may never fully know) then among these set of politicians are the most primal beasts unworthy the respect of the public, and not fit to live among humans. After all, it is their being amongst us that has caused these things to happen |

Priceless24: OP, it's very simple. Many guys (before una begin bash me, I did not say all) act like this towards girls that visit them. Somehow they erroneously assume that if you visit their houses then you obviously want to get intimate with them. whether they have expressed interest or not.
On the other hand, wetin carry you go the guy house? How long have you known him, where did you meet him? To avoid all of this BS do not go to visit a guy that is not your BF or that you do not intend to get intimate with because most of them will try. Highest you'll say no, but to avoid it you can meet somewhere in the open I read a story about this guy who had a girl visit him. She spent a long time with him and he entertained her and eventually saw her off. Not very long afterwards, he sent her a text message asking if she wanted to come visiting (he probably enjoyed her company the first time). She replied, "What for? The one I came before, did you do anything?" |

nationwide1: If they like, let them find 10,000 impeachable offences. Where were they when there was no imbroglio in the house? I'm personally not against sending Otuoke son back home but my concern is the common citizens. Bokoharam has no genuine reasons to fight yet they are fighting. How much more Niger Delta militants who will sure feel deprived with such a great reason to stop exploration of their oil for their enemies? They will fight to the last man standing. This is not 1967. I see Nigeria disintegrating with the selfish moves of legislators. Right |
