inkon: Reasonably clear, but you missed my point, nonetheless.
Your explanation entails of gender equality from literal view. Yes, they deserve all that. Every right thinking person will support that and I do.
My question centered on feminists' interpretation of gender equality, as in their own version of the meaning.
It's obvious that what you defined above have been overly twisted. I can give a whole lot of instances of besetting issues attributed to feminists' right activists.
Agreed. A vocal minority of feminists are simply insane, but that shouldn't take away from the true purpose of feminism. Feminism is simply aiming for gender equality from the viewpoint of the oppressed gender.
italo: Serious? Yet Atheism waited for Catholic Church to come and invent hospices, modern university system, become the single biggest charity organization in the world, etc
The bible, if taken literally, tells us the world is less than 10,000 years old. 2,000 years ago, it also told us that the world would end soon but here we are today.
In my opinion, I don't see world ending soon but we are in a race against time to avoid major disasters. Overpopulation, shortage of natural resources, near-earth space objects, climate change, and nuclear winter come to mind.
The only thing we have going for us is technology, but would we be fast enough?
I don't believe that any of these problems can wipe mankind out completely, even if we fail to avoid them but they will definitely end the world as we know it.
analice107: You guys should protest to Seun, by writing him an open letter requesting for him to open an atheist section for you guys. It'll really make sense if you can have your section. But I know, just like the muslims, you guys will find that place too boring, so will still come out here to have fun.
Why would I need an atheism section? I'm not afraid of my views being challenged. In fact, it's kinda healthy to constantly have to rethink your stance on a subject.
It's just when I saw the title, I was expecting OP to cite some archaeological findings and what-not. I was disappointed to find some weak questions that anyone who calls himself/herself a Christian should know.
KingEbukasBlog: Evidently , the significance of the story eluded these bunch . I learnt a lot from that story as a Christian .
But how this story preclude the existence of God .
Like I always ask these atheists how does your perception of God's behaviour preclude His existence ? Johydon22 and CoolUsername ... can you tell me ? Is there religious affiliation that has a problem with God's behaviour maybe you should become part of that .
And CoolUsername the great proponent of evolution took to his heels when he could not answer 10 questions that refuted the science myth . You really had the guts to type trash . Mr . man get your booty over that thread let's finish it
God's behaviour shows that he's not perfect. In fact, the biblical God acts exactly like a human with superpowers. He follows the thought patterns of primitive men. This is because he was created by primitive men.
Also, I started answering those questions. But then I realized that the original author of the questions didn't know what he was talking about. He talked about obscure theories that had no way of disproving the evolution theory. I thimk his aim was to make evolutionists lose interest since they'll have to do so much research.
I'm a well-read guy not a supergenius who knows every obscure theory that may or may not relate to evolution.
Scholar8200: Like I said we have the antecedents of Abraham hence any likeness should start therefrom. And in this case, what point / or for what reason will God make such a command? Apart from Abraham, is there ANY ONE thus tested in the Bible?
You're dancing around like ballerina in a minefield.
If God asks you to kill a loved one, what would you do?
blueAgent: I Laugh.. so what made those living things in the first place that later died and formed oil.
definitely it must be a living thing. becos only a Livingthing can create or make something . or u believe stones now make humans how illogical that will be.
secondly no process can ever start on its on. it must be intiated weather a chemical reaction,or motion, or gravity. whatever an object require a force to move it. and the force requires another force to move it.and so on.
Now you see, your argument may prove a deistic god, a first cause to be precise. Scientists don't know what happened before 10^-43 seconds (?) after the Big Bang, so it's theoretically plausible for some sort of driving force to exist (though I highly doubt it). Your argument can't be proven or disproven reasonably at the moment.
But what can easily be disproven are the scientific models that are extrapolated from creation myths.
blueAgent: And who told you the technology and knowledge is from satan. The earth and its fullness belongs to God including whatever knowledge they cliam to have. and secondly you believe NWO exist and still don't believe in God. for your information those satanist do not give a Bleep about U and ur kind. U are just a tool to acheive their purpose. without God oil will not exist, their will not be any silicon for Micro processers. hence no facebook,Nairaland. and so on.
But this oil comes from the buried and hyper-pressurized remains of dead plants and animals which died at a time so long ago that it disproves the biblical creation timeline.
Don't be deceived, nothing was added in the early translation.
In fact, what do you about translation?
Our(ALL) translated versions are all meaning the same thing with different/broken down words for easy understanding.
That's why we have; easy to read version, amplified version, KJ and many others
These bibles were all gotten from the dead sea scrolls, ancient hebrew and aramaic texts, masocretic texts and latin vulgate.
When the bible was compiled, a number of these texts were discarded for various reasons. The NT was contained almost exclusively in the greek and latin texts (for some reason no hebrew man wrote any surviving text). The more ancient greek texts do not contain some of these verses.
lllllllllllll: I seen a note under the verse that sayin earlier manuscript not havin dis verse. Where it comin from abeg
Yup, there are some parts of the 'perfect' Bible that were not in earlier manuscripts. Like this one, the 'he without sin should cast the first stone' story ,and the last few lines of the Lord's prayer. They seem to have been added in later translations.
I have no idea how one can still call the bible legit.
lllllllllllll: That rite not magic book. Either this is addition or is real deals. If real deals , then perform. If dis additions , abeg wat else is addition or deletion
aaronson: So keep your balls in your pant or you 'd get your own fair share of the cake. I'm not insulting no body but their ignorance and if you got game, bring it on and watch me smack you and God's face.
That's not how to go about it. You're just being militant, your aggressive approach is would probably backfire because you're going to stir up malice from whoever you're talking to and in the end no discussion is going to take place. You need to present your views in a civil manner.
Richirich713: The of 4 reasons why God punished Onan.
1) It was the duty of the brother of a deceased man to help the deceased man's wife have a baby, so that she could have a better chance of survival and an inheritance. She didn't live in a modern house with air-conditioning you know.
2) Second Onan not only refused to fulfill that obligation, he repeatedly refused (notice it says "whenever" he lay with Tamar).
3) Third he pretended that he wasn't refusing - so that he could have $ex without obligation. (He tried to have his cake and eat it 2)
4) Worst of all Onan was setting it up that he would get the inheritance leaving Tamar poor. (If Tamar had no heir born to her, guess who got the family's inheritance? ).
KingEbukasBlog: The dead has been raised in front of doctors , the blind could see , the deaf could hear , the mentally deranged got their sanity back . Even most doctors are religious . You've made no point as usual .
Is there any proof the Bible hasn't had additions , deletions , altering , or corruption?
Please stay on topic no derailing.
Thank you kindly
This is a weird question for a Muslim to ask. Considering that parts of the Qu'ran were gotten from the Bible and Torah. So if you can't prove that the Bible or Torah haven't been corrupted (which you can't, since they've been edited countless times) then consequently, you also can't prove it for the Qu'ran.
