No! Don't renew your passport before submitting. When you've finally received your stamped visa passport, you can then renew it. Make sure while travelling to Canada you take along with you the expired/old passport and the new/renewed one. At POE you will be asked to present the expired travel document containing the valid Canadian visa together with the new/renewed travel document lacking a Canadian visa. The immigration officer at POE will issue you a study permit on your new acquired passport.

Congratulations on your achievement.

If you submit your passport for renewal, NIS will issue a new one and cancel the old one thereby rendering it invalid.

I would advise him to renew his passport if it has less than 6 months validity.

There are some NIS offices you can apply and get it the same day or next day.

Visa fee is CAD 1040 for each adult; Biometric is CAD 85 for each adult and visa fee for kids is CAD 150 per child.

I'd like to correct a view which seems to be getting quite common. Please note it doesn't apply to the moniker above but I just used it to buttress my point.

We've recently seen several expectees who didn't do medicals upfront but did it after submitting their biometrics to speed up their application if it is positive.

Now most people seem to call that 'upfront medicals'. That is simply wrong as it wasn't done upfront but after biometrics has been completed. It completely throws me off when people upload medical results much later after application submission and still call it up front medicals

Any medical you do when CIC has not requested for it is upfront medical.

Hi guys, how else can one prove employment status without payslips or bank statement reflecting montly salary when applying for study permit. You know how some private firms can be in Nigeria, they pay you in cash and in instalments. Will employment letter suffice?

You're flirting with misrepresentation. Reject that ITA and wait till you get your ECA before accepting another ITA.

The date of ECA will show that you got ITA before completing your ECA. That is misrepresentation.

Your husband will apply as self-employed. He needs to provide CAC cert for his business, tax clearance and recommendation letters from those he has done business with including SOA showing cash transactions etc.

You can search the thread and read up on those that applied as self-employed.

Please help my younger sister. she has a big issue right now. She is 33 years old and she has a masters which she is currently evaluating with WES. Now the name on her birth certificate is Sowole Oluwatomisin Funmilola. On her masters certificate is Tomisin Funmilola Sowole. On her waec certificate is Sowole Tomisin Funlola (please note there is no 'mi' in the Funlola ) and on her international passport is Sowole Tomisin Esther (Esther is her English name which is not even on her birth certificate). she just renewed her international passport and she told me they told her she can't change the English name to funmilola except she go to Abuja to effect d change that they can only maintain the name on the expired one which she did almost 10years ago. I asked her why she used Esther she said she felt then that she should at least have a English name on her passport that now she knows better.

As in, I'm so mad with her right now that have been ranting since as to why she can't just keep to a name. please help me, will an affidavit be enough for all this different names? I just felt she has a better chance of getting a direct ITA as she is young and kuku like book pass me, as my own can only be through PNP. Please what can we do? No. WES requests for WAEC/NECO if you want to evaluate degrees issued by Nigerian universities.

To be sure, go to WES website and check the requirements for the country that issued you the MSc.

I have already answered you. The transcripts you have wont be accepted by WES or any evaluation body.

Your school MUST send your transcripts to WES.
WAEC MUST also send your WAEC certificate to WES.

The only document you need to send to WES by yourself is your degree/ND cert or statement of result.

No need for High court anything. At the WAEC office, you will do the affidavit.

The cost for WES is less than 60k ($207).

Use Hellofax free of charge to send your degree certs to WES.

Pay WAEC and the universities you attended to send your WAEC cert and transcripts respectively to WES.

I made a mistake while simulating my CRS. it was giving 472 until someone showed me my mistake. I recalculated and it gave me 429. I was so devastated.
My problem now is with the 472 mindset, I registered ices evaluation and I have paid but yet to send any documents.
Please, I want to know how I can get my money back.
I want to stay down while I look for a way to increase my CRS.

You can still go ahead with the evaluation. It's valid for 5 years.

Wes need only my waec certificate or statement of result officially seal?

WES needs WAEC to send them your WAEC result in official envelop, stamped and sealed.

The university you attended also needs to send your BSc/MSc transcripts to WES.

Then you need to fax your statement of result/degree cert to WES.

You cant claim points from your sibling if s/he is not physically present in Canada at the time of your application.

Why not use ICES? It is faster than WES too and doesnt require you to evaluate your WAEC.

I believe you are mixing things up. " masters' evaluation is relative. For degrees that are professional e.g pharmacy and Law; it takes point higher than "two or more certificates, but for nonprofessional degrees like physics and business administration it counts for the " two or more certificates point".

Where did you get this information from? This is misleading! Master's is Master's whether in 'Yoruba Technology' and cant be given two or more certificate points.

No need. You've already spent noney processing and sending your BSc transcript to WES (right?). Do the same for your Master's. WES doesnt charge per document like ICES, they charge the same amount for all the certs submitted.

If actually you want to save money, you would have evaluated only you Master's.

There are many things you can do to increase your CRS Score.

You can write TEF to increase your score.
You can go grab PGD in NOUN to claim points for two or more certs. Or do Master's to claim 126 points.
You can marry and she evaluates her cert and write IELTS to add points. If she has Master's and younger than you, then relax back and make her the PA and provide POF for family of two.

You can see that you have many options.

Maybe you have Canadian education, sibling in Canada and below 30 years of age to have CRS score of 473 with ONLY BSc.

I missed a letter in my name while creating my profile on WES and my ECA report carries this error. I hear an affidavit can suffice for minor errors but please confirm.

In addition to the affidavit, I would advise you chat WES on Twitter or Facebook to hear what they will say about this minor error.
