jhoci: WES will not tell you before hand about the error. You will only see it when you get your ECA. I know but if the Master's (with the correct DOB) is evaluated alone, WES wont add the error in the BSc in its ECA report. |

MaSisi: Hello house, Please i noticed that my ECA has two different date of birth for my masters and BSc which obviously is a mistake from the school. Masters 1st June (actual birth date) BSc 10th July Both are same year.
Please what do I do? Will it pose a problem? Thank you. If you're in a hurry to get your ECA, ask WES to discontinue with the evaluation of your BSc and do only MSc. If otherwise, contact your school for the correction. |

pejuhazel: My wife is the primary applicant, and she's already done her document verification with WES. Will I also need to do it? We can see on the CIC page that spouse verification is listed as mandatory rather than compulsory and while it will get us a few more points, we don't particularly need it. If you've the required CRS score that can land you ITA, no need to evaluate your degrees or write IELTS. |

MaSisi: No reason oo. I was the one that advised him to use IQAS after I read what you wrote. You think ICES is better? Please I need your candid opinion. Thank you. If the institution that issued the MBA cert is not a Nigerian institution, use WES and you wont need to evaluate your WAEC/NECO but if otherwise use ICES. IQAS is shit right now. It takes them weeks to open your transcript after receiving it, plus another 12 weeks or more. If you use ICES, you can ask the institution to send your transcript via their official email, to save cost and time. The only drawback here is that ICES report is ONLY hardcopy and must be sent by post which costs about CAD$75. |

I have a friend in the UK, he came in as a student but didn't go back to Nigeria,so his student visa expired. He want to get out of the system to Canada. Can he apply from UK If no, can he go back to Nigeria to apply?? If he go back to Nigeria, will they not capitaliz on his overstayed stuff in UK??. I just need ur advice, so has to advise him accordingly. Thanks The first step your friend should take is to apply for UK PCC. The content of the PCC will tell him if overstaying in the UK would affect his Canada journey or not. |

MaSisi: Pls COPR, My hubby wants to verify his certificate with IQAS. His masters and BSc are two opposite courses . If he verifies only the masters (MBA) will it up or reduce our crs score? Also, if he decides to add BSc (microbiology) what will be the implication. Thanks for your response (in advance) There is no implication. Let him evaluate only his highest degree (MBA). Evaluating BSc wont add any point to his CRS score. The rule is evaluate your highest degree if you've BSc & MSc/MBA/PhD; but for OND & HND, evaluate both to get 2 or more certs with WES. Why does he wants to use IQAS? Why not ICES? |

For those that are still confused on the evaluation body to use, this should help you to make an informed decision.
WES vs ICES vs IQAS
WES evaluates WAEC/NECO together with degree certs issued by Nigerian institutions can be evaluated while ICES & IQAS dont do such.
WES verifies your transcript/WAEC/NECO by sending mail or email to your school that sent them the transcript and wait for your school to respond before evaluation is completed while ICES & IQAS require ONLY your school to send your transcript and no verification email is required.
WES requires your school to send your transcript by post/courier while ICES requires your transcript to be sent by post/courier or via official email of your school and IQAS demands for your transcript to be sent by post.
WES charges $200 for all documents submitted plus additional $7 for standard delivery or $85 intl & $25 for local; ICES charges $200 per document and additional $75 for intl delivery or $26 for local; while IQAS charges $200 for all documents submitted plus $15 & $75 for local and intl deliveries respectively.
WES minimum processing time is 20 business days when all documents are received and verification email replied; ICES is 10 weeks (some got their ECA report within 4-5 weeks) and IQAS is 12 weeks.
WES & IQAS send soft & hard copies of the evaluated document while ICES sends only hard copy with a charge fee of $75 for intl delivery & $26 for local.
NOTE
WES favours OND/HND certs & evaluates it as 2 or more certs. It also favours nurses with BSc cert.
WES doesnt favour LLB, but favours LLM cert.
IQAS favours both LLB & LLM certs & nurses without BSc.
Goodluck in your Canny journey. |

smslive2: Asking for a friend's friend's sister... Who knows the process of getting certificate from NECO to WES? I promised to update you about this after doing mine. I paid a contact at NECO HQT in Minna on the 6th of August 2018, after sending my NECO cert and WES request form via email to him. He confirmed the result, processed it and sent to WES on 10th via DHL. It arrived WES on the 15th. I'm waiting for WES to send the verification email to NECO and I'll tell him to reply. Then I'll be free from WES-NECO wahala. I hope this helps.

Nairasurplus: Dear good people, kindly see below pictorial explanation from Canadian immigration website. The 8,7,7,7 that has been ringing bell here is not a prerequisite. You can still make it 6,6,6,6 provided your score is within CLB 7. You must not make it 8,7,7,7 to qualify. Brethren, who else is with me. Na only you waka come o! |

Foreverhopeful: I'm in same situation right now. Contacted school and was referred to WES that they did not receive any email, went back to WES they said I should allow time for school to respond. #sigh Ask WES if it was sent by post or email. Sometimes, WES would send verification by post (which takes weeks to reach) and you'd unknowingly be asking the school to respond to email that WES never sent. |

LecturerIFE: Yes. I applied this week, and I saw like 10 or so other names on the list applying for same to be sent to Wes. Total cost is N18500 - N1000 for confirmation of result and N17500 for the transcript and courier.
To avoid waste of time, make the 1k confirmation of result via remita before you go there.
Visit www.remita.net On the page, click on "Pay FGN and State TSA. A dropdown pops up, click on Federal Government of Nigeria. On the next page, fill the below.
i Name of MDA: Type National Examination Council (while typing National Examin... the name will come up itself) ii Name of Service/Purpose: pick Tender Fees in the drop-down. iii Description: Type Confirmation of result iv Amount: 1000 v GIFMIS code: you can skip this as the field isn't compulsory vi Payer's Full name: type your name as it appears on your certificate/statement of result vi Payers Email: Please ensure you use a valid email address as you will need this to generate your Remita receipt. vi Payers Phone: fill as you wish. Complete the captcha and proceed to payment.
You can choose to pay with your card/bank's internet banking or take the generated RRR code and pay at any bank branch. Please save the RRR code.
If you pay with your card/bank's Internet banking, check your email for your remita receipt (not the same as your bank receipt... the remita receipt is generated and sent by Remita to your email) . In case you do not get the receipt in your email, go back to www.remita.net and click on Resend Receipt or Invoice, enter your RRR code and you should get the receipt in your mailbox.
You can skip the entire steps above by going to any bank branch and make the payment via Remita.
Take one copy of your Remita payment receipt, three copies of your certificate/statement of result and three copies of completed Academic Records Request form from Wes. If you are in Lagos, visit NECO office at 20(?), Coker Road, Ilupeju.
They will issue you a neco receipt of 1k, you then complete a form and submit with the other documents.
That's pretty much it.
I was told the forms will be sent to Neco head office in Minna for processing... this could take between 2 to 3 weeks to get to WES. You can PM me if you need a contact in NECO office Minna that can quickly confirm the result, send to WES within 5 days and also reply verification email from WES, instead of waiting for weeks. |

ayusco85: Please I need to make a decision btw ICES, IQAS and WES? Pls the experienced ones shld advice which one is better, cheaper and faster. Hope I got the acronym correct. ECA is becoming a big issue with the addition of WAEC/NECO for Nigerian certificates by WES, so it's important to understand the pros and cons of WES, ICES & IQAS. No time to be requesting for refund, we went through wahala to get the transcripts. Almost a year. Can WES refund money after payment? This WAEC verification wahala is going to be time consuming and should be avoided if possible. |

Newmum0615: Can everyone take a seat please? It’s going to be quite a read.
It’s my turn.
PPR has come to the glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
It has been a lonnnnng but rewarding experience here on this thread and in this EE journey. I have learnt a lot through months of research and waiting. If you had told me anything about relocating from Nigeria before the second week of August 2017, I would have rolled my eyes at you in apparent indifference. I was never one for living abroad. I love visiting on vacations, buying plenty stuff and coming back home. However, one day at the end of the 2nd week of August 2017, I was in the car with my husband, on our way to work and I remember vividly how I stumbled on Testden while browsing through the internet that morning. I decided to read a little and I just became fascinated with the practice texts and solving the questions. A colleague of mine who moved to Australia last year had been harping on about migrating, but I had no such plans. Hubby and I are doing quite well here, and I am also so close to my parents that the thought of staying so far away from them kept me from taking the leap.
Initially, practicing the IELTS questions was just for fun but I had a light bulb moment one day while still recovering from a surgery that almost cost me my life in a Nigerian hospital. A supposedly ‘big’ hospital. Why not take the test and work towards getting outta here? I asked myself. Hubby didn't agree at first. He is a believer now.
So voila! My first connection to anything Canadian was the IELTS test discovery via Testden. During my recuperation period, I decided that I needed a better life not just for myself but also for my kids. I considered Australia, but there is a disconnect between my first degree and work experience so I didn’t stand a chance. Canada was next on my list. I went on to research on the internet; CIC site and Nairaland popped up first among others. I have always engaged Nairaland as my go-to place for 1st hand practical experience on just about anything. It really needs to be rated among the top internet search engines in the world. We are great like that!
So, lemme not bore you with my long story joor.
