Celebrities › Re: Nigerians React To Banky W’s Declaration For Political Office by correctguy101(m): 11:51am On Nov 11, 2018
Next2Bezee:
In the better countries, people are elected based on merit, experience, achievements, plans, and qualifications.

However, the same cannot be said for Nigeria. What experience does Banky have that makes me a suitable candidate for the seat he is contesting for? It's a debatable question.

I like Banky; I'd rather vote him over the old balding grandpas and fulani herdsmen, but I wish for a day where qualified, young Nigerians are the ones contesting amongst themselves for office.
Its commendable. Young people like Sowore and Banky Wells will get my vote anytime. There was hardly a 35year old in a position of power when this nation got its independence but those same youngsters back then have formed and joined several gangs and hardly let anyone in their circle.

There should be an informed younger cabal fighting these old ones. But as you know, the mega corps from outside wouldn't let anyone or anything spoil their business. $mh

Outright stupidity!
Kendrick Saro Wiwa died for the betterment of his people and land and I'm yet to see anyone idolizing him.

Worst is these same people aren't aware there are two Jesus' that sprung from King David. One from Solomon and the other from Nathan. Or they choose to ignore that part of their holey book and follow their own imagined Jesus.

This foreign gods seem to either be too lacking to contain the wolves governing Africa or they simply don't know us or care how we fare.

Remove them from governance and have our rulers swear with all their ancestors and gods and see the wolves turn to jelly. undecided

Christianity Etc › Re: "His Name Is Not Jesus" - Daddy Freeze Condemns The Name 'Jesus' by correctguy101(m): 5:22am On Nov 01, 2018
Waakanda:
Madness at its peak cool

Can someone tell this guy there's something called "Arbitrariness of Language". In other words, if a group of people agreed to start referring/calling a stone, "Brubru"... then it stands. With that, the word 'stone' can easily go into oblivion and everyone knows that hard thing as 'blublu'.

To explain this vividly, the word 'stone' means 'okuta' in Yoruba language, 'nkume' in Igbo, and 'dutse' in Hausa. The adoption of such different names is purely based on agreement among the individual ethnic groups.

The word/name "Jesus" can be likened to the above. That's why Yorubas pray with the word "Jesu Kristi" and those with faith in it get results... same with other tribes. Remember, the Bible says "Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 18:19 KJV)".

Therefore, the word "Jesus" may be a product of agreement and I don't have any problem using it for the purpose it's meant for. Freeze lacks the locus standi to denigrate or belittle the name in question because of the forces that gave it the recognition it's enjoying today and forever.
Lols...

Very stupid approach. What if the pupil in question doesn't have a father or his father is far away?

Nigerian schools needs to stop attaching stereotypes to families. The father provides, the mother cooks and cleans bla bla bla, it doesn't make sense anymore especially now that both parents do chores and contribute financially to the running of the home. There are homes where the mum pays the bills and the dad stays at home with the kids. There are single parent homes where just one parent bears all the burden. How do you expect children from such homes relate with silly stereotypes?
