This is just an inauguration committee and not his inner council. The President Elect probably had no input as it would be a party affair and used to accommodate those who will have no role in mainstream government. |
Well, my fellow nairalanders, it is all over. No more fighting and abuses. We need to reconcile and make this country work. Welcome to a new era! I have high hopes for this new team. As for Tinubu, well give credit where it is due. He tactically raised a regional party from obscurity to national prominence. That is not an easy feat. Jagaban!!! Congratulations to GMB! I hope I didn't stand in the rain for nothing. Make us proud because if you don't................4 years is nothing in the life of a nation. |
Shuo, no comments! Are we all with our calculators doing permutation? |
I've not been able to open the site for two days. I paid in my cash and placed some bets, however I don't even know the outcome as I am unable to reach naijabet's home page. Is anyone else experiencing difficulty? |
I am amazed and disappointed with the way most people are reasoning over this issue. The problem is that our educated youths don't read anymore. And when they do, they don't understand. Let me summarise the issues at stake: What was published by Rapport was that they are in possession of documents issued by the Nigerian authorities. At no time did they state that they had recently come across these documents. In fact these were the same documents issued by our government when the funds were initially seized. The South African authorities had studied these documents and were still not satisfied. At no time did the SA government change its position. The topic is misleading and mischievous. The SA media did not confirm the legitimacy of the deal, they only stated that they were in possession of documents which showed that the transaction was approved by the office of the national security adviser. The SA govt have not come out to say that all is well. The reasons for seizing the money were that SA laws had been broken. It doesn't matter if our government actually wanted to buy arms, the truth is that in trying to purchase those arms they broke SA currency laws. Again the company purported to be brokering the deal wasn't registered for arms transactions. Has anyone tried to google Rapport's site on the matter? Please try and understand postings before taking a position and do not take topics as facts. This is why our pass rates at WAEC and NECO are so poor. Students don't read and understand the questions. Try not to be lazy and question issues further. ![]() |
Hi I am interested in the car. What's the price? |
Can this go for 350k? |
Traditionally by Igbo customs, it's the father's mother that goes first. Modern day practice however has changed that and for reasons earlier adduced in this thread, especially with the new mother being more comfortable with her own mum, the wife's mother comes first. |
emiye: And what is expensive about a 3.75 million per plot land in Lagos?I think we'd need to look at the land location. The area of the port is near Eleko Beach. In fact you need to drive past Eleko town to get there. Similar land in that remote are does not go for that price. The land cost in that area is in the region of 600k to 1m. However when the development takes place, it would be normal for prices to rise. Unless of course the LASG is basing their equity contribution on the future value of the land. They may have a point. If that is the case, it should have been spelt out in the beginning. |
obayaya: Now that's one very very expensive landIt sure is! That comes to about 3.75m per plot (as per my rough calculation using figures earlier provided in the thread). |
OP, had you known your wife could have traveled back here on her expired passport. They would have allowed her entry but she wouldn't be able to travel out with it. Then once here simply renew it the Nigerian way which would cost less than 20k and take approximately 24hrs. |
Mazi_Omenuko: All I see is 'sarcasm' in the tweet! He didn't take it that serious and I suspect he was just trying to throw a joke.I agree with you. It is amazing how so many people cannot differentiate. Why are they taking it so seriously? |
Well done!!! So proud of you all!! |

Lilimax, it is either that you're very young or you have assimilated too much propaganda in the run up to the last elections. All the same, you need to do some valid research to get your answer. You may not find it on the pages of nairaland. For the avoidance of doubt I am Igbo, Christian and I can honestly say that when the Buhari/Idiagbon regime was truncated by military coup, our country lost its way and we've never found it since. |
Nice topic and a topic that I've had to discuss with several in-laws and my own family members. Having worked at various levels with large organisations as an employee and now currently self employed, I would say that professional exams are more important to the average employer than your MBA. I have had the unfortunate experience of interviewing several MBA holders who don't just cut it. While the professional people have a better idea of what needs to be done. Personally I would not employ an MBA holder over a qualified professional. Now I know that the executive MBA is regarded as a professional qualification but having gone through both I would still hold the professional (non MBA) in higher regard. Basically there have been a lot of sensible posts but the main thing is what do you want to do as a career? If you want to be an academic then obviously MBA is the way. I wish you luck, because none of the paths are easy... ![]() |
The Sorrows of Satan!! Wow, read that years ago but it still is a classic. If anyone can find a copy they should read it. Leon Uris was an excellent writer-read so many of his books. It is really difficult to say that one has a favourite book. If you are into books you would understand...... It's just a pity that our youth don't have that reading culture anymore, not like in the old days... |
