One cannot feign surprise at the money-grabbing antics of the Macheda family. However one has to question the gullibility of anyone who swallows Mr Machedas story hook, line, sinker and fishing boat. Despite the fact that I know most Mancs to be gormless, I can only explain their acceptance of Mr Machedas story on the grounds that Mancs have a preclivity to whitewashing their clubs unjust practices in order to forego any moral quandary about their affiliation to Manchester United. Mr Machedas claim that his sons stay at Lazio was predicated on Claudio Lotito offering him a job for E500 per month is an exercise in glibness. Infact, any breadwinner who makes such spurious claims should first consider how it reflects on himself as the breadwinner of the family. Does Mr Macheda know that any job which pays said amount would most likely contravene EU statutes on employment rights, and in particular laws governing the minimum wage for workers? Mr Macheda must assume that our mitochondria has been wholly ineffective in supplying enough nutrients to allow our cranial facilities to function properly, for we all know that he could requisition the said 500 Euros per month from the Department for Social Security without any pre-requisite trade-off for his labour.

twaddle! kiko macheda will have to give up football before he can claim any penny from the DSS.
can you work and claim at the same time? french clubs have no rights at all to point fingers(they are the worst).
freedom of movement/choice is a good thing. if the youngster wanted to stay in france then he could have turned down man united, sir alex is not in the business of kidnapping people like chelsea did with john obi mikel.

you kinda get the feeling that english clubs have gate crashed a party the spanish, french & italian clubs have been enjoying for years. you have blatter & his french big nose sidekick complaining about english dominance of the champions league, though the same governing bodies didn't seem to care when spanish and italian clubs owned the competition.

p.s. how old was messi when barcelona poached him in 2000? how old was alexander pato when milan took him away from internacional?

blame fifa/uefa for this mess. unfortunately, platini and sepp blatter are morons.
there should be a standard rule for every club. it is insane that man united cannot sign local based youth players that live 90 minutes away from old trafford and le havre can sign youth players from south america and africa without restrictions.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread by Cougar: 3:43pm On Aug 02, 2009
i don't really understand why dayokanu is foaming in the mouth. a player snubs the opportunity to earn a decent but unspectacular wage at a club struggling in the french league in favour of a big offer by one of the clubs with the best records of bringing players through.

they are moaning because the age of the player means they won't get paid, and because they thought they had an agreement with the parents.
i don't see any biggie to get excited about. what's the european union for if it doesn't allow people to do these things?

Macheda was about to give up football until Fergie rescued him from 'mean' Lazio, claims Italian talent spotter

Patarca insisted that Macheda could not have turned down a move to Old Trafford because Lazio had failed to support his impoverished family. Macheda, known since childhood as Kiko, comes from Ponte di Nona, a run-down area to the east of Rome and a world away from Lazio’s Formello training ground to the north of the Italian capital. His parents struggled just to pay Macheda’s travelling costs for the daily 100-mile round trip to training but Patarca, 64, claims Lazio snubbed requests from the player’s
father, Pasquale, for help.

"Three times Pasquale asked Lazio for financial help, because it was so tough trying to get Kiko to the training ground every day," said Patarca. "It cost money and time away
from work. Pasquale asked for the club to fix him up with a job. I believe as little as
500 euros a month could have solved the problem. But my understanding is that Lazio only offered to help once they realised that Manchester United were interested in Federico. That was too late because they hadn’t seemed to believe in him enough before. So thank God for Manchester United. What would have happened if they hadn’t been interested and Kiko’s parents had been left with the problem of trying to find the time
and money to take the boy such a long way to training every day?"

"Without Manchester United, I believe he would have had to stop playing. He would have had to finish with football and would have been lost to the game. Instead, he is in
England, where United have helped him to mature far more quickly than he would have done in Italy. You cannot go wrong with Sir Alex Ferguson. Lazio should just be quiet and learn from their mistakes.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1169356/Macheda-football-Fergie-rescued-mean-Lazio-claims-Italian-talent-spotter.html

kiko's family was very poor and apparently lazio didn't even pay his commuting expenses. lazio aren't a small club and if they want to train and develop their youngsters, at the very least they should make sure that the youngsters don't have to worry about such simple things. it's not as though we are talking about thousands of euros - 500 euros a month for a promising youngster like kiko shouldn't have been too much for a club like lazio. if they refused to pay them it's their own fault, i'm afraid.

who knows, kiko might have discontinued his football career if it wasn't for sir alex ferguson.

Dike
Only a connection issue prevented me from posting that story. This deal  has been done since May09 but the big clubs have in contact with Pogan since last year. It's wrong do make such deals with minors as most of these bigger clubs do. Arsenal, Man utd, Chelsea, Newcastle, Liverpool are among the culprits last year. However, the refusal of the european leagues too to tie these players to trainee contracts too does not help matters either. I know it's not simple to give every promising talent a contract but hopefully, these loopholes will be plugged sooner than later. Man utd isn't the only one involved. I'm sure even the european clubs too poach talents from each other in less high profile manners.

the rest of europe are allowed to sign non-eu players from all around the world, and they exploit that.

english clubs are allowed to offer kids contracts at a younger age where the other countries can't and clubs exploit that.

different systems means clubs operate differently within the rules to their advantage.

did bastia feel immoral signing michael essien at 17 from his local club? what goes around comes around. le havre should shut up.

ruud was mentioned and someone named torres as well. you barged in to mention santa cruz and sauron corrected you berbatov achieved it before torres and santa cruz. should we assume ronaldo did not score 42 goals in 2007/8 because 8 of those goals were scored in europe?

can wes brown paul scholes, michael carrick and owen hargreaves be in a team line-up?

Ibime:

First of all, do you know this is the THIRD time Sauron has spit these bars on NL. . . .he has used these very lines against Ofokasibe and Krayola already before. . . . I just decided to overlook his amnesia and let him off this time. . . .

i have never seen the bars before(at least not on nairaland).

The multis are not even consistent. . . . how does "fight and brawl" form a multi with "gat and brawl". . . . do fight and gat rhyme?. . . .or "half to stall" and "spinal chord"?. . . . how does "half" rhyme with "spine"?

u have chosen to be blind to support your argument.

thats the call = gat n maul

twice as raw = hype n all = strike ya jaw = fight n brawl = fight at all.

Of all those multis, point out one serious punchline for me. . . . anyone can put multis together, but it has to be directed to culminate in an uppercut. . . . this is not the freestyle lounge, this the battle section. . . .

explain how generated, simulated, differentiated and integrated is not high school.

smells like 10th grade.

They paint a picture vivid enough to deliver an uppercut at the end of every two lines. . . . case closed!

It is not my fault if you lack a flair for the English language to understand how I can say "You act prolific but lack specifics". . . . . putting multis so close together, yet making perfect sense. . . . "I factor physics . . . and ya plastic lyrics. . . are past their elastic limit". . . . GODDAMN!. . . . it takes skill to put multis so close together, delivering uppercuts, whilst delivering a physics lecture on how plastics get permanently deformed when they pass their elastic limit. . . . it would take Sauron 8 lines to be able to build up that punchline and deliver it whilst making perfect sense  grin. . . . forget it!

putting multis together so close is a skill but yours don't make perfect sense to go with a flow.

kaydee got this right when he said your flow didn't connect. your syllables were mostly asymmetrical throughout.

your overusage of multis was another flaw. it distorted the flow in the last verse.

I am done arguing nonsense. . . . the day you drop some decent bars on here, Ill respect your opinion. . . . Every opinion counts. . . . shame your opinion will be tabulated under the loser column!  grin

don't need to drop bars to put my opinion across.

stop acting like a child.

I cannot be blamed for your lack of comprehension!  grin. . . . . .like I said, you have a challenge on your hands. . . . until you can disprove the above, I will stick to the opinion of a respected analyst like Kaydee who knows what he is talking about. . . .

U are getting wrecked with gore(1) i'm ready at any point to rap n brawl(2)

I ma disconnect ya voice box till you lack the gall(13) to rhyme no more(14)

14 multis in 7 lines(all in a sentence format).

i repeat, sauron trounced you on multis.

I rap terrific/ You act prolific/ but lack specifics/
I factor physics  . . . and ya plastic lyrics . . . are past their elastic limit!/

what is 'fracture defences' and 'overlapping offences'? is that also a multi?
Rap Battles / Re: Sauron Vs Ibime by Cougar: 10:16pm On Jul 17, 2009
i only hand-picked the obvious ones.

there are more in his verse.

twice as raw, strike ya jaw, gat and maul, fight and brawl, prag's a phoney, matrimony, more baloney, expecting ur death, pregnancy test

retard and riff-raff are multis. /eee-aaa/ seems you don't even know the meaning of multis.

how does flammable flaw and back in my balls qualify as a multi(u cannot even make your first syllable rhyme together). cheesy

flame = /ei/ back = /a/ the first rule of a multi: make the first and the last syllable rhyme

thick-skinned, piss drink, weak link, shit clean

scheme of things, in your spleen.

pink pants, dingbats, think fast, king's back, bin bags bit rap, evac, kissed ass, pitch-black, retard, riff-raff(all in one verse)

sauron clearly wins on multis.

In order to improve the integrity of the league, there should be a refree review board: a group of independent refs that reviews every game to check if there was any irregularities and to maintain the integrity of the league.

faux! one can never have free and fair assessment of the games in nigeria because nigeria is not an enabling environment for such. if nigerians can rig elections and bribe law enforcers, people will get to those referees. my cousin told me it is nearly impossible to have away victories in the globacom league. referees are so scared the home fans will get violent and take his life. is that football?

what is the fa doing to improve the nigerian league. the game needs big sponsors, the packaging has to be okay and most importantly, coverage has to be outstanding. a situation where a kid of 7 can name all the starting 11 of famous clubs in europe and cannot even name 6 players in any nigerian football club is shameful. one cannot blame these kids. he doesn't get to see nigerian football league players on tv.
