those countries you mentioned their people have money. The average indian and Chinese here has 2 or 3 houses and businesses. How many Nigerians with our yeye naira can afford those things outrightly. Where i live the bank branch has only chinese staff and they speak mandarin to customers because they are rich. Money rules the world. 80% of the houses there owned by them. A typical Nigerian without generational wealth cannot compete with those kind of guys. Sometimes too Image and reputation matters. The phillipinos are good maids. They are also known for some other handwork. If you want to hire a suya man will you hire an igbo or yoruba manhuh In the Chinese supermarket i shop the workers cannot speak English but their rich country man is able to bring them over. Nigerians mostly open african store and the owner can handle it alone. How many nigerians have 500k dolls or 1m dols to bring to canada. Stop blaming people for what they are not responsible for. Hustle your way and stop talking shit. The Nigerians you chatted have not brought their own relatives na u them go bring. You think is easy bringing a stranger abroad to come take care of his or her kids
Consider this.

A lot of Chinese immigrants in Canada are laundering money and avoiding punishment in their country. Many if not most of those rich "businessmen" are criminals/former criminals. Many Chinese immigrants are also basically trafficked by these "businessmen," so they can pay slave wages. These "businessmen" also quietly flood North America with opiates, fake medicine, and who knows what else. You're giving them far too much credit.

Indians go in packs because many aren't capable of going abroad any other way, unlike Nigerians. They're also fleeing one of the absolute worst countries in the world. Most indians would love to be in Nigeria. If only you knew. Indians also know that whites view them as slaves they can abuse even in a professional setting. Whites joke about hiring 5 indians for the price of one local. White people know that won't fly with Nigerians, or any other black man/woman for that matter.

India and China have an entire industry dedicated to cheating on entrance exams and other major exams. This is how many get into Canadian and other foreign universities (and they cheat in most of their courses).

Chinese students abroad are an arm of the Chinese government. They use these people for spying and sabotage.

Chinese companies are a nightmare for many. In an office setting, it's considered acceptable to beat the heck out of an employee for underperforming, disagreeing, or who knows what else. It's not surprising that even people with money and "good jobs" there want to get out. If not for themselves, for their children.

India is the rape capital of the world. Even villages killing rapists and parading their bodies isn't enough to discourage it. Sexual harassment is just as rampant. It's not shocking that people are desperate to leave.

In China, women don't even report rape because in their culture, the women is shamed and considered a bad person rather than the man who attacked her. Sexual harassment is also rampant of course. Again, of course there's tons of people fleeing that environment.

China can't manage/care for its huge population. They certainly try, but creating the conditions to sustain all those people is almost impossible. Some Chinese live in cages instead of apartments or even shacks. There's a reason every country in the world has a bunch of Chinese, and it's not because Chinese are globetrotters.

Many serious problems combined with being two of the most populous nations in the world is bound to inflate immigration. Have you considered that many Nigerians have no desire to leave while most Chinese and Indians do?

You have said it all. While I am not disputing the fact that we have evil people everywhere, no one can abuse anybody and go scot free in this part of the world especially if you have evidence. My brother, this is not naija o. In addition as @pleasant19 mentioned, with this new pilot program the nanny is not tied to one employer. If your direct employer fires you, you can look for another employer.
I wish that was true. The reality is that justice works different for immigrants and black people in a place like Canada.

Again, I'm not trying to discourage anyone. I speak out of concern for safety. That's all. I don't trust these men, especially white ones.

Abi ooo. Some people will not even make research on something before concluding. Nigeria has so tuned our brain that we see negativity in everything. Philippine and India uses the Caregiver route to bring in their relatively but Naija never even go Canada, they Don dey see negativity in one route. Na wa o
Prostitution is very common in the Philippines. Filipino women do not hesitate to sexually exploit themselves to go abroad. They commonly have sex with employers to get/keep jobs abroad. The Philippines even claims women are their "greatest export."

Indians spend their whole life abroad with their lips planted on white backsides. They have no dignity or self-respect.

Are these people you want to emulate? I think not. Nigerians are so much better than them, in every way.

My bad. Canada. My point is still the same. Women are at risk. I guess you don't care about your women being beaten and assaulted by white men since you felt the need to fixate on a minor statement flaw.

Btw
Sonography is an easy program, cheap training, and totally not a big deal. It's a joke compared to engineering school.

Thanks a lot man, I've understood so much from you already.

Do you know of any school or training institute you can refer me to? I've tried Google but all I see are full-time undergraduate courses in sonography/ultrasound

Also, is sonography/ultrasound regarded as a tech course?
Research your immigration path. I'd look into the PNP program, that specific occupation, provincial shortages lists from the actual province, and what your options are.

This is the job code for reference:
3216 – Medical sonographers

Basically, find the Canadian licensing/cert body for all sonographers. They have a list of approved schools. Find institutions on their list offering 2-year programs. This will typically be trade schools and CCs. Complete the program and apply for a work permit. You don't need a job to get it. After that, PNP and a job offer should take care of the rest.

What do you mean by "tech course?"

You should know that a lot of Nigerians study one thing at home and then get med training elsewhere. You certainly wouldn't be the first.

I'm ready to change profession, but will I be accepted for a masters in sonography/ultrasound with my engineering degree?
You wouldn't be doing a master's. You would be doing a two-year training program approved by whatever body certifies you.

They have enough med shortages that they'll roll out the red carpet for you to go and train as a tech, especially if you agree to the regional program. The fact that you're a trained engineer will only make you more marketable. I'm sure they prefer someone with your education over a Filipino.

Once you start working as a tech, you can do your master's in your preferred field. But be warned, there's no shortage of engineers, just a shortage of companies willing to pay appropriate salaries.
TravelRe: Studying In South Africa by Cousin9999: 1:49pm On Aug 18, 2020
It will be easier to have your credential and training honored abroad, so if you can go there and not put yourself in danger, it's worth it.

But from what I've seen, I'd be concerned about SA oyinbos too. They have a slick mouth on them, and you may have to remind them where they are.

Canada currently has regional immigration as does Australia. The UK doesn't, but Scotland is pushing hard for it.

I know you didn't want to go med, but sonography/ultrasound tech is basically a trade that you can get in 2 years. It's cheap training, easy work, and pays well, even in Canada. Think about it.

I'm actually surprised at Canadian med salaries now. They're comparable to American, and that wasn't always the case. I guess shortages are motivating it.

How about forklift driving?
How about mechanics?
I'm just trying to be honest with you because I know how much deception is out there regarding this issue. But I'm not trying to discourage you.

There's no shortage of forklift drivers, it's a common skill. There's also no shortage of common mechanics. You can throw a rock and hit a mechanic. As I said, niche trades are different, but fiercely protected, and I doubt you can get the required training/experience where you are. Even abroad the training/experience can be challenging to get. You would have to research those niches, connect with the unions, and likely train abroad (or maybe in South Africa, I don't know). Many of these jobs pay very well.

The following are the most likely to be real shortages:
-Welder (decent pay)
-Glazier (decent pay)
-Driller (Oil and Mining, competitive pay)

Other shortages tend to be people looking for cheap labor, or trying to flood the market and reduce wages.

There does appear to be a regional shortage (mechanics don't want to live there) of large equipment/heavy mechanics. And it seems industry-based (oil and mining). Insiders claim once you have experience in oil/mining, you can't get hired anywhere else because they assume you'll leave when oil/mining picks back up (suggesting frequent layoffs in oil/mining).

What dangers?
I don't want to scare anyone away from an opportunity, but it's not as if it's uncommon for home care workers to be abused. These men see someone desperate to stay in Canada, and they hold the power to quickly send the woman back. I think seasonal work in hotels/resorts might be a better alternative. At least there, people can protect you.

The UK is changing their whole system to be more like Canada/Australia (points-based) by 2021. Basically, they want to avoid the avalanche of cheap, questionably-skilled Indian labor.

Consider the following:
-Canada needs people (consistent shortages, rural areas, bad weather) and most of the UK doesn't.
-The UK is less racist than Australia. Canada can't really afford to be racist.
-Scotland wants their own separate system or regional programs to address a shrinking, aging population.
-6% of Canadian immigrants are British.

I'm not talking about a professional skill, I'm talking of some kind of skills like mechanic or driving and others. I studied engineering so I can't do my masters in the health care system
I doubt anything like that is in short supply except niche stuff, and those jobs tend to be heavily guarded by racist unions. It's still worth looking into, but training is typically not cheap and easy to find.

However, truck drivers (big rigs) are always in demand, even during the pandemic. No one wants to be on the road 3 weeks at a time despite the good salary. And many drivers branch out on their own once they clock experience. It's definitely worth the money and time. They average 19M naira a year. Independent contractors make like double that.

You should check government websites for specific programs and municipalities that want certain professions.

Other than that, anecdotal evidence suggests nurses, doctors, paramedics, and physician assistants. The healthcare system seems to always need more people. You would be making an excellent contribution.
