Boko Haram: Borno Suicide Attack Claim The Live Of Two Teenagers

Two female suicide bombers were killed on Wednesday morning while attempting to attack a mosque in Borno State, North-east Nigeria.

Mr Damian Chukwu, the Commissioner of Police in the state, confirmed this in a statement personally signed.

Chukwu disclosed that the attackers tried to gain entry into the Alhaji Bunu’s Mosque during the morning prayers in Jiddari Polo general area on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the state capital.

The police have confirmed that the candidates to be recruited in the ongoing process will have to write an examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

President Muhammadu Buhari recently announced that he had approved for the police to recruit 6,000 new officers. The recruitment is to help increase the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, currently at about 300,000.

In a statement sent to PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday, Jimoh Moshood, the police spokesperson, said, “For the first time, successful candidates, after the physical screening, will undergo a written aptitude test to be conducted by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to ensure transparency and get the best out of the candidates.”

Mr Moshood, an assistant commissioner of police, also listed other conditions to be fulfilled by the candidates to be eventually recruited across the 36 states and Abuja.

The Muslim Rights Concern Group, MURIC has warned the National Assembly to put a halt to any plans to Impeach President Muhammadu Buhari over the Withdrawal of $462 million for the Purchase of Super Tuscano helicopters.

This followed a motion moved on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday 24th April, 2018 by Senator Matthew Urhoghide. The senator asked his colleagues in the Red Chamber to invoke Section 143 of the Nigerian Constitution to remove the president because the latter approved the sum of $496 million for the purpose of purchasing 12 Super Tucano war planes without recourse to the NASS.

Urhogide, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, insists that the president violated Section 80 of the Constitution with the approval.

A strange substance suspected to be ‘Juju’ tied to various stake in the early hours of Wednesday scared traders at the Onitsha market.

Though the substance were later reportedly packaged into polythene bags, and were burnt, but an eyewitness, John Nnamdi told DAILY POST that the strange substance was followed by the deepened leadership of the market.

He said’ “Everybody rushed to the scene this morning, but they have parked the strange materials to polythene bags and set them on fire.”



It was, however, gathered that the leadership crisis rocking the Onitsha Electronics International Market was informed by political intrigues, and allegedly sponsored by some political bigwigs in Anambra State.



With uneasy calm currently ‘parading’ the market, those in the know said efforts to conduct an election for the executive council of the markets, last Friday failed following allegation that one Chief Emmanuel Ibeh, a chairmanship candidate had connived with some people at the corridors of power to halt the poll.
