Nigeria is only good at building big churches and mosques. Even that, they don’t build it themselves. It’s contracted to foreigners. Nigeria is only good when it comes to brainless religious extremism and superstition.

Look at the cow Nigeria elected, one who doesn’t even see the need to get treated in the country he is in charge of, are we surprised they elected him again for a second term?

Fücking guinea pigs! At least some people are thinking about solutions for the covid problem instead waiting for Africans to come up with a solution.

Africans would never be respected as long as the same attitudes are sustained. Borrow from IMF then steal, invest and store in white man’s land. Then you want respect?

Look when they actually come with the vaccines who the real enemies are. It’s the same cows that will sell their people away just like their ancestors sold their kinsmen to slave masters. Nothing has really changed.

Okay. Do you!
Shelumiel:
Oga, don't mix conspiracy theories with scientific evidences. The mask you're talking about are surgical mask...and an aerosol test carried out proved that covid-19 cannot be stopped by a mere surgical mask!
Health / Re: Coronavirus: No Face Mask, No Movement In Cross River State by CptCharlesVane: 8:28am On Apr 02, 2020
Surgical masks offer some form of protection! Would they stop you from getting infected in a high risk environment? Probably not but if everyone wears surgical masks, asymptomatic people wouldn’t be going about infecting people because it stops droplets from flying about.

South Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore ... and yes their numbers may be increasing but they’re definitely not going through the hell the US, Spain, Italy, UK ... who have been told this rubbish about face masks because they didn’t want people hoarding them and wanted them to be available for healthcare workers who need them the most. This was the main reason they recommended that people not wear masks, also at the time they thought only symptomatic people spread the virus which isn’t the case.

Better protected with masks than without one. You don’t have to accept that but stop trying to sell the stale story about face masks. You think if everyone wore face masks on a rush hour train in NYC the infection rate would be as high?

Shelumiel:
N95 mask are very expensive (how many people can afford a mask that protects roughly 2hours and cost around $300-$400?) ; that's which is why they are not being used in such places. And secondly, those countries you mentioned are still having increasing number of covid-19 cases(even though they parading with face mask upanda). So where is the protection from the mask?
Health / Re: Coronavirus: No Face Mask, No Movement In Cross River State by CptCharlesVane: 8:20am On Apr 02, 2020
Keep waiting for WHO that is the mouthpiece for China tell you how to protect yourself. Putin is likely infected, Boris Johnson is, Prince Charles, Trump had to be tested they never wear masks but look at the Asians, they wear masks, even president Xi wears masks (not N95) but they’re not useful. Wait for WHO that said no human transmission and downplayed the seriousness saying it wasn’t going to become a pandemic, even criticizing the US for shutting borders to China in January.

Wait.
Shelumiel:
Bros, no vex o. But did WHO tell you their aerosol test proved that surgical mask prevent corona virus from reaching humans?
Health / Re: Coronavirus: No Face Mask, No Movement In Cross River State by CptCharlesVane: 8:14am On Apr 02, 2020
Riddle me this then, how come countries that have controlled the spread have almost everyone wearing masks and the ones that are struggling in Europe and the US don’t? You think there is no correlation? Btw the majority wear surgical masks not N95.
Shelumiel:
Oga, surgical mask are use for different purposes, except for fighting corona. No sane medical worker would put on a surgical mask and attend to corona patients.
Health / Re: Coronavirus: No Face Mask, No Movement In Cross River State by CptCharlesVane: 8:10am On Apr 02, 2020
It’s been obvious for a while now that asymptomatic people transmit the virus more than those who show symptoms. How many people move about when they are sick? Don’t take WHO seriously just protect yourself the way nurses do. If the masks weren’t useful the healthcare workers wouldn’t be complaining of shortages.
nony43:
WHO officials on Monday said they still recommend people not to wear face mask, unless they are sick with convid-19, or caring for someone who is sick

Masks offer some level of protection. Better with one than without one. If they’re not useful why do nurses wear them?
Shelumiel:
Oga, WHO said surgical mask cannot prevent you from getting corona: The virus can penetrate through the mask, which is why the N95surgical mask is used instead. The only known way of preventing corona is by staying at home.
Health / Re: Coronavirus: No Face Mask, No Movement In Cross River State by CptCharlesVane: 8:06am On Apr 02, 2020

Seriously

Sincerely our government doesn't have any sense whatsoever.

There is nothing on ground to prevent hiking of price when we know Nigerians are mostly worldly and not Godly

For instance nose mask is 3 for #50 before but now it's 1 for #250 without hike in fuel price

When making this kind of decisions they ought to place something upfront to prevent hike in price Or give people free but all na lie. You give people first before making policy not policy with audio giving

All in the name of we are saving you they will still create more problem

Even WHO says don't put on mask unless you have the symptoms or virus or taking care of those with it but our own government policies are overboard and without sense maybe they want to enrich one of their families

Interesting. It was really different but because mine was in January I’m not so sure so I’m taking no chances. Many experiences like yours I’ve heard about that also tested negative for flu support all that speculation about to Covid-19 being around longer than January in the US so many more people are/have been infected, or have recovered from it already.

Did you see a video about an FDA/CDC guy being asked in a panel if it was possible that those who died from the flu last year actually died of coronavirus and he confirmed that they actually did some post-mortem tests and found that to be true.

How’s it out there on the road ... Stay safe!

This reads like it was Covid-19. the virus mutates a lot so the risk of re-infection isn’t very low but you shouldn’t worry about that, at least not in the short term because your immune system is way up by now.

Like you, although mine didn’t last as long (a few days), I had a high fever and bronchitis or some weird kind of pneumonia like symptoms in late January. I thought it was the flu but I didn’t even have a running nose. I had the urge to cough at times and felt it was developing so I went to the hospital, flu test was negative. I was surprised considering how sick I felt the day before as it was the worst type of ‘flu’ that I’d experienced because I always joked about it that I thought I was going to die. I was extremely fatigued as well.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your age range and do you have any pre-existing health issue?. Also, did you notice anyone around that got sick with similar symptoms before or after you.

Chronic mental disorder is when you keep putting words in people's mouth, go back and read all my commments, if you can show me where I wrote Nigeria is better than Iran then I'll publicly apologize to you, otherwise I maintain my stance, you're an idiot and a bloody fool!

So let me get this straight, an Iranian criticizing a Nigerian president for :

1. Being stupid
2. Failing to deal with terrorists
3. Poor understanding of serious issues

AN IRANIAN! Quick questions:

1. Is there peace in Iran? Have the ayatollah and the other terrorist elements been defeated?
2. Is Iran's Economy bubbling? I mean with all the sanctions and global oil prices dropping, how can it?

Is Buhari a dullard? Absolutely! Is he inept? Very much! But let's not allow pot to call kettle black here, an Iranian has no moral justification to call out incompetence when their own leaders are full of it. I know here in Nigeria we are fond of supporting anything and anyone that takes aim at our leaders, especially our Southern brethens but let's do so with common sense and not be used as a tool by people who are not better off than us.

Save your apologies and go over your comments again to see what you have been implying. And stop excusing stupid and stupidity of the Nigerian situation and government. Nigeria is barely testing anybody going by global test counts even within Africa.

How many times in your life living in Nigeria have you seen ambulances and emergency response over any situation in Nigeria? What is the national emergency number, or you think in other countries their CDC provide GSM mobile numbers for covid-19 response?

Are Iranians all over the world struggling as illegal immigrants because they fleeing poverty? In what bloody way is Nigeria better than even Syria that has functioning hospitals and electricity even in wartime?

Nigeria has the highest number of poor people in the world and that covidiot is talking about Iran. A president that commiserated with Saudis over a bombing but doesn’t know the virus that is killing so many people and crashing world economies, worse still the people don’t even know where he is.

At least they have hospitals and their presidents can get treated in the countries. So you shut the fück up and brace up for the storm that’s about to hit.

So because 1naira = 100 in Iranian currency means you can get 100 of the same item you get in Nigeria in Iran. Covidiot! Nigeria is the only place in the world with polio but yes, Nigeria is better than Iran that has and maintains a National Uranium enrichment program but your country is better that brings in foreigners for basic engineering projects.

Honestly, you can’t fix stupid. Now run along Ajala the traveler. I have lived in many countries. Ask NCDC how many tests they’ve done then compare that to Iran. Your stupidity is beyond redemption.

Health / Re: Public Health Advisory To Nigerians On Coronavirus Disease by CptCharlesVane: 5:44pm On Mar 25, 2020
Also the Buhari led government failed to pay the initial sacrifice of a lockdown. Right now, Donald Trump is seriously considering the cost of containing the pandemic in US against the 2% mortality rate of the virus, that would be 8 million people in the US as the sacrifice to get the country’s economy going again. Italy’s mortality rate is fastly approaching 10% and they have more beds per head than the US and one of the best healthcare systems in the world.

Do the math in Nigeria and guess the mortality rate with our healthcare system the president never believed in, and then see why everyone was clamoring for a lockdown earlier.

It is now a choice between death of a significant number of people, or let nature/coronavirus run its course for the economy to work. You’ve been arguing for the latter without even knowing. But then again, without a lockdown, only living and non-sick people do business and work for businesses and even so, sick people infect healthy people at work.

So, We are all fücked! All of us, the world over.
sexylassie2:

It seems you are not seeing the effect of the lockdown.

Many companies are losing big time, some people wont have salary at the end of the month.

In the coming weeks, there will be an increase in infection rate even with the lockdown

It also means salaries won't be paid to people for months.
Health / Re: Public Health Advisory To Nigerians On Coronavirus Disease by CptCharlesVane: 5:29pm On Mar 25, 2020
But these could have been avoided if the lockdown was done much earlier. Read my earlier comments. Italy made the mistake, Spain, UK, the US and all the victims have been screaming advising others, like Nigeria, that had time to lockdown and not let the virus in.

But, even in Africa we were the slowest to respond, still letting flights in and inviting Italians and Chinese for business. You were talking about imports and business, stay tuned because in the coming months only food and medicine and other essentials would be the things that matter to everyone, not business or imports, cars or even freedom to move around.

By the way, the extremely late response from Nigeria would be enforced by soldiers because if they don’t the deaths would be unprecedented. Seems you still think the countries that have shutdown their economies for weeks don’t have poor and homeless people and don’t like business, it’s only Nigeria that likes business.

‘Hunger would kill more people than the virus’ is a myth. This is war and serious countries consider it as such. Look at the numbers of people dying daily in countries with some of the best healthcare systems in the world and so much money, then take a honest look at Nigeria, you should get the picture.

Wow! it’s been barely a week now but how’s the economy and the delayed but inevitable lockdown going with your imports, exports and businesses now?

Brace yourself because it’s going to get worse ... for everybody, globally. Stay at home wouldn’t work in Nigeria shay, maybe until you start seeing people dying from the virus

sexylassie2:

I think, you miss the point of the border closure, people importing by road (half of the goods were foreign rice and goods we could produce in Nigeria)

But govt didn't stop Nigerian companies from exporting their raw materials and finished goods to other African countries by road.

This present case we have is different, every sector of Nigerian economy will be affected if there is a total lockdown

Normal day with nice weather here in NYC, now the epicenter of the Coronavirus in the US. I stay in most of the time, people are aware and keep a distance even when walking on the across the street and more people wearing masks. ‘Essential’ stores are still open with limited times with signs and warnings about Covid-19.

It’s projected to get much worse with the numbers, especially now with the more aggressive testing, and hoping in two weeks the numbers would sort of stabilize. Yet, somehow more worried about my family in Nigeria dealing with the virus situation, especially my parents.

Staying safe, you should too.
