barcanista: Wasn't he aware of what he was signing up to when he was joining the army? If unsatisfied why not stick to the legal channel to complain? How can a corporal "advice" the C-n-C to fire his bosses? Is that part of his job? I don't subscribe to inhuman treatment but I don't think his action is appropriate. What is written up there or said during the interview is protected under his fundamental right of expression. Knowing the type of country we live in, full, truthful disclosure is unknown to institutions such as the NA. In contrast, the Norway apology for the sale of military vessels to ND militants comes to mind. |

barcanista: He may be saying these because he was denied the chance to represent his constituency in Katsina state house of assembly.
His action and those of the army are embarrassing to the country. I know you are being ridiculous. His motive is irrelevant now the important question is that is it true or not? How can you even fail to address all the issues he raised and type that his intention is to embarrass Nigeria... Who is more embarrassing, this fine model of the greatest status anyone can have a free citizen or the set of bumbling, obese, rogue, dishonourable and thieving NA top brass? |

Reference: And how is this different from any work of life or any army in the world. There are ex-service men who retired as Captains and Majors as well, after 30 years of service. There are pastors with just one church and a congregation of thirty after 20 years of ministry, there are blogs and forums with next to no traffic after a decade on the web. Does life just promote you because you are there. Please be reasonable. How is he unreasonable? How can you call someone that describes military life as hell on earth unreasonable with all that the officer said is going on within the NA? If all the rot as complained was not the case but the officer complaint was just that of promotion, you will have been justified. He is perfectly reasonable. |

We are in dire need of honourable men in this country. Honourable men in words and deeds. Men that will put duty and state first before self.
Yeah I have found the word! We need selfless men. Selflessness is the dead virtue that must be resurrected. |

Shantelle80: I'm sorry if i sound whining, marriage is not my upmost priority of course. That would be my baby and i am focusing on him/her. Still, this may sound old school but i always pictured myself in a "traditionnal" way of life. Starting a family with a man i love and who loves me, raising our children together. I never thought that i would be in this place at this point in my life. Still i praise God for all his blessings. I'm healthy, my parents are too, i have a decent career, enough money to take care of myself and raise this child. I'm just sad you know, just sad and dissapointed. Most of us need someone to share our lifes with, i know some people don't but i do. I really hope that i will be able to find a good mate and bring a good paternal figure in my child's life. As i look around though, it seems like i'm now out of the game. Most men won't date a single mom or a 35+ woman so a 35+ single mom... Hey Shantelle80, Be encouraged and don't stop keeping faith. My heart goes out to you. |

Stillfire: Wow, wow, round of applause. It's not as if women do not or cannot cheat, it's because society frowns at women cheating more than male adultery. Society's attitudes towards male adultery needs to change. This leniency towards adultery is not helping anyone. It is destroying families. Any person that claims to be family centered would be focused on curbing this menace that is destroying families. Absolutely! Adultery by husbands should be severely frowned up. There is never anything good there. The Ultimate Life manual is absolutely correct when it states that whatever a man sows he shall reap...in folds. Sow a seed, reap a tree. Sow your oats, reap a forest. What is even appalling is that, we are seeing this as normal and unsurmountable...a defeatist mindset...failed marriage before the wedding. ADULTERY IS WICKED & WRONG. |
