Apologies once again. We would address this at our next sisterhood meeting. kiss
Sure! As if ladies ever talk about anything serious besides boyfriend and the latest foundation, and hair extension.

This is with all due respect to the very few out there who are really working hard. Like one girl in a mechanic workshop close to my house. If you see where this girl dey pieces and recouple engine, you'll ask whether this one get time for boyfriend.

This one na ote main boy naa, he knows nothing abt military. If its me, I will defend myself and nothing will happen to me they will let me go with just a warning... they will only call to confirm.

Buy please if you can't go to barrack and let an officer do it for u, you can be a very good friend to a brutal sodier. please don't do it. Be warned.

I went to check a car sometimes with a sodier all dressed up with riffle. I also took a sodier as my second guarantor then. The owner of the vehicle was scared when he saw them, thinking he was in trouble and we all laughed over it...
Role with military men always. Factz
So the idea is just to walk into any barracks, how about you hook me up? My wife's dad is a retired air force. He said they might demand for ID if I'm stopped.

My people ! Yes ke! How una dey?......

IF you leave your house and come back safely, no incident or accident, shope tie! Kneel down, open your mouth and thank Baba God, even if you're not a driver.

On my way driving home coming from Alapere inwards Ogudu, I noticed some Opay bikes, some people on the bridge and off the bridge looking at something, whatever it was I can't tell, all in ALL it is well
There's nothing on that jacket they wear that says "if you don't like my driving, call". On several occasion I have seen those guys drive rough and carelessly. Seemingly, their confidence comes from the fact that they wear helmets. The other day one almost had an accident with a rider behind. I just shook my head. Pitiful!!!

Is there no channel between drivers and Uber?
A simple solution would be for Uber to partner with a company with petrol stations. So you use a petrol station as an emergency stop if you feel unsafe. I think you guys need safe places where you can stop. I say I want to buy petrol, then drive in and shut down.
And what will the fuel attendants do...spray your car with fuel to scare the lads out? I think a police station will be better. grin

We are not sure of where she is working presently, neither do we know her plans and future aspirations.

That she is doing her side hustle along side her career doesn't mean she can't still go higher in her career. If she has got it all figured out, who are we to tell her how to run her affairs.

My point is, everyone has got dreams and plans, let's allow them follow their dreams. As for me, am looking for ways to finance my career in ICT.

So, even if na for shit packing the goldmine is located, na dia we dey go, provided it gives me that time to go for my trainings.
Painful thing is we can't ascertain if she's married or still single. I have seen situations where ladies would pursue and attain degrees more than you have on a thermometer but throw all that way after marriage leaving their husbands dreams. Painfull

Stop all these stories/testimonies you read online as if life is a bed of roses. If it's easy to make $2000 monthly why are you here reading post and mentioning?
Bro don't be like that. The fact that he mentioned it could change someone's life. Be open to ideas. This guy hasn't committed a crime.

Its a faceless forum, who knows, maybe its dangote just trying to have fun outside his routine life style.

If you burn 10 kilocalories on job a and you get 30k
You burn 20 kilocalories on job b and you get 15k

Where do you think you should burn your kilocalories?

Everyday people shout be your own boss, don't work for anyone. This lady has stumbled on a hustle that will bring in money but she continues to chase career. Like i said, Las Las na civil service job. Even in lag, the flexibility na die.
Not totally correct. I work not as a civil servant but I still have time.

Morning shift: 7am - 2pm (7hrs) anytime after 2pm I'm free
Afternoon shift: 2pm - 8pm (6hrs) anytime before 2pm I'm free
Night shift: 8pm - 7am (11hrs) anytime after 7am I'm free

Guy, if my side hustle is out stripping my main hustle in terms of returns , what does that tell you?

Unless she has a very clear vision that when I get to point x, the money from accounting will start rolling in.
It tells you you are doing something wrong or you yet to fully understand your side hustle.

I was with my employer for 14 years. We had a strong union. When I was let go, I was given an ample severance package that allowed me to measure my options. A colleague in a different part of the company, higher paid but not unionised was laid off in 2016 or so. All he got was one months salary as severance. I met him a month later, driving uber. He is probably working now. Where will uber fit in his cv?

A cv is about relevant experience for a position. Unless you somehow intend to apply as senior driver in a company, your uber driving experience is irrelevant.

One of the reasons why the rates are not that good is uber is not intended to be a full time job, but a side hustle for extra money.

My two cents.
When you've been out of a job for a period of time, your new employer might want to know what you've been doing with your time. UBER, sir!

I told my current employer that I ran a small house cleaning service business with a friend.

He then asked, "besides house cleaning what else can you do"?

I replied "i work well with computers".

But this wasn't really the catch.

I love to come up with ideas. Ideas that solves problems, a human need.

In 2014, I came up with an idea that I called " bill roller". It addressed the issue of making your NEPA bills available in a manner that made it easy for NEPA officials on disconnection exercise check your paid bills without hassles. Instead of the usual way people would squeeze their bills into pet bottle, this idea gave that whole process a swag. It was a product on its own.

Why I bring this up is because I feel that there's really no experience that is wasted or irrelevant.

I walk into every job interview with the prototype and it's always a breeze. I sell myself as a problem solver and I have something to show for it.

So, why not!?

UBER, sir!!!

You lack comprehension.
This is a nice forum and I enjoying hanging out here every once a while. Instead of the bickering and hate speech (there's a new law now remember grin) I believe strongly we can all learn from each other as no man is an island. If you ask me, it is healthy if we all have different opinions on issues regardless of how radical some peoples opinions maybe as that could have been a factor of so many things: upbringing, personal experience, society, peer pressure etc. Lets learn to understand first where that persons mindset is coming! Its a faceless place and I believe living to respect each other is certainly not a difficult thing to do. Its a choice we can all make. A simple choice.

This is for every one esp. People like me the greenhorns. If you are not safe with a ride @ night . cancel it. If uber or taxify blocks you. It is not the end of your life.

All those that come n here n spew rubbish on . you can't cherrypick trips bla bla. .
I'm sure the female rider saw @ firsthand why drivers thread wt caution @ nite.

The day I was going to festac. N we got to , is it mile 2 now or 12. I noticed my rider was telling me to speed up under that rough road by under the bridge.

Telling me , your car must not break down @ dis spot, you ditch it. N save yourself first.

N I don't want anybody telling me all jobs have hazards n all that HR balderdash.

When I was a bit younger the thing dey sweet me, the ceiling fan regulator will be at the highest despite feeling cold, still i will resist putting the fan off.

One of our big bros in the neighborhood back then almost died because he thought he was enjoying himself. If not for his wife who came into the room at the nick of time, bros for die on top bed.

He had the ac in his room on and slept off, only for him to wake up to find out he could not move his body neither was he able to call for help. This story is no joke. Las las from that day onwards local man begin respect ac.

Just be wise sha. Some riders only get the opportunity to experience this in uber cars and nowhere else. Like I said earlier riders will alight at their destination, but you, you continue with another rider.

We just love abusing things. You will see people obviously feeling cold under AC with turtle neck or suit but still putting the AC high. Isn't it supposed to condition the weather? Must it be to the extent of shivering?
Funny. There's this colleague of mine at the office always complaining of the ac being too much. For my mind I laugh each time she starts her complain because na her type go enter uber begin ask, "oga is this your ac working at all"?

Appeal to riders:

1. Please stop shifting A/C vent to drivers when its getting too much for u, no one plans to d*e young.

2. Stop eating fried rice and chicken in front of drivers that are yet to have combination of breakfast and lunch. grin

We too will b human being, what's good for the goose is also good for d gander grin
In as much as you are in charge of the steering wheel also be in charge of your ac knob. If the car gets too cold for comfort you do not need the permission of any rider to occasionally regulate the temperature of the car by turning the ac on and off.

The other day I was driving home from work, I didn't even put the thing on high, as I stop to buy fuel nobody give me brain as I won freeze die. I just quietly off the ac.

The rider will alight when they get to their destination, but you, you are likely to get another request which means you're in it almost all day.

Enjoyment is eating a good and well prepared meal. Enjoyment no be to blow ac die.
