Babadee1900: What car is it? New or Toks? I bought mine 6k toks 6k for the two sides? If you're referring to the parts, its toks, but the car is Nigerian use and I've been using it now for 1yr5mths with this being the first time I'm experiencing this. 1.5k could still go a long way if I save that and add to labour cost. Please what's your parts dealer contact? PS: Honda crv 02 Thanks. |

Babadee1900: @ Crvrider, loud is synthetic wee.d. I buy parts from Oyingbo because they deal majorly with Honda and it’s closer to the Island. I have a mechanic I use there, any part I need he takes me to the sellers shop.
Meanwhile, this afternoon police stopped me at Addo road, I was with a rider. When the officer came, I greeted him.
Me: Good afternoon Officer Officer: Shey Na Uber? Me: Yes it is Officer: ......long hiss, abeg they go they go.
Me and my rider had a good laugh When I turn to the left I am beginning to hear that dreaded kikiki sound...it happens when I turn right too but turning left seems worse. Also the steering wobbles and swerves to the right when I let go of it while driving. |

Vision2045: Appreciation post
Guys kindly help say a word of prayer to my Madam....
She is a very private person, she is on Nairaland and I believe she might be following this group because she picked my number from here when I was looking for HP
My baby boy (11month old) was very ill, started since Friday but got worse over night...we took him to the hospital and after some test and diagnosis..I was asked to make a payment of 150k..... I was down and swept every where and was able to raise 50k plus..after several calls to some friends and close family that I can approach...the outcome was still negative...so summoned my mind to call my partner for a loan of 100k to be paid in installment with my weekly remittance. Lo and behold my people my madam and hubby rather gifted me 50k...
Words can't express how grateful I felt....
I quickly deposited 100k to balance up before my boy is discharged ....
Hitting the road to keep the hustle going
Mrs B God will surprise you and your family with blessings and favour now and forever. Sorry for this and thankfully your boy is doing okay. I really don't mean to be sarcastic, but that your vision year too far, bros. What will you be doing before that year comes? 2045 ba wo? Just to lighten you up. |

Babadee1900: 1. I rate it 8/10, would have given it 10/10 if it was a civic with smaller engine.
2. I use it full time and it has never let me down.
3. Yes, I will recommend it any day anytime (provided you are buying it toks or well maintained Naija use)
4. My experience with EOD has been a bitter sweet one. I’ve owned an EOD that turned out to be a nightmare (Naija used), but this particular one I’m using currently is bae. The driving experience is lovely, AC is excellent. No engine/transmission/ac repair work since 4years of entering Nigeria.
5. I use Tokunbo ball joint. OEM is expensive, Part sellers will try to sell you same thing for different prices. You will hear this one Na original, this one no too strong but e go last, NA LIE. The only time I tried to use the China ball joint I suffered for it.
Sometime ago I traveled leaving the car behind, upon my return I told my babe to give the security guy the car key so he can wash it before I get back. He decided to drive the car to show off to his friends around the neighborhood, on his way back to the house he had an accident with the car. The impact affected the right ball joint, absorber and linkage. We couldn’t get toks ball joint around so we resulted to using the China one, less than two months after the ball joint pulled out at VGC exit gate around 7pm
Again at that time of the day, and location, only new will suffice, bought one around and replaced. A week later I changed it to Toks. That silly act by my security guy made me loose my stock absorber, linkage and ball joint.
Generally Honda is a good brand. Just get yourself a good unit (Tokunbo or sound Naija used), stick to the recommended oil especially the gear oil and all will be well. Please where do you get your suspension parts from? Ladipo or oyingbo? Any contact please share? |

Babadee1900: Offline trip is interesting. Let’s just be careful with riders we negotiate offline trips with.
The girl I took to Atican beach earlier bought 30,000 worth of ‘Loud’ on the way. Imagine what will happen if you are with that kind of a rider on offline and police stop you.
By the way, SCIID abi SARS are already on that Okun-Ajah road as at the time I was leaving. Some guys coming to the beach had to do a 360 turn when they sighted the police guys. Had to slam hard on my brake to let him go. Crazy stunt. I am lost. What's "Loud"? |

All thanks to G-map I went and returned unscathed I throw salute for gmap. If not for gmap how man go do this business. This technology has been very helpful. One time I carried three girls to idumota. Gmap carried me all the way to marina through 3rd mb from iyana ipaja. I was confused because map said I had arrived, the girls ma no know idumota except from one direction, carter bridge. Fast forward to the 30th: I got a trip to songotedo, afraid to take 3mb because of the closure, I went through ikorodu road-oyingbo and then I found my self on carter bridge, memories started to fly by. As I descended from the bridge through martins st na so I see myself for marina, na so I laugh. Conclusion: there are many ways to skin a cat. That load idea na correct one but na person wey sabi way round market e go Favour. You could go to a major market around your area and ask those guys how it works. Ps: na Disiel engine You could take the seats off and use it to carry loads in the market. This approach is less stressful, unlike using it to transport passengers. |

pope191: It's pointless not seeing it from that angle, let's not act brand new, we r products of a broken society and who we r. There r traits u must have by being a Nigerian and worst if you r born in Lagos, Warri or PH. I'm not a saint, full lasgidi rep, but they r things I just don't have energy in again. Riders r owing me as I type now, I even pick someone from v.i to surulere yesterday 4hrs traffic on surge, trip ended at almost 20k. It's the matter that I am trying to settle with Uber and they r telling me that's the right estimation after review. Told rider to pulse payment, I'm not sharp or dull, my joy and peace is everything to me
Note: Learnt in Dubai, they r not offering Nigerians job, e get why. I think its a trait all black men will have to live by. If a black man enters into an elevator with a white woman, she clings her purse. Till date I wonder how we got here, is it a reputation we've built over the years or we found ourselves here as a result of, "someone has to be blamed", so its easy to blame the black man? An African american comedian once said, "Americans stole a whole country from the Indians and nobody said a thing, but if a black man were to look at a candy store for far too long, they call the cops" Its a tough one. So to the young man who wanted aunty radu to help receive an item on his behalf, you see where its all coming from. This is the black mans reality ... don't blame her if she has trust issues! |

nitigriti: On this Bolt trying to lower fares further, maybe we should consider porting to EkoCab. I see potential in EkoCab for two key reasons: 1. It is State Government backed; 2. Sterling Bank is financing
Why don't we form a "body" or a "committee" to engage EkoCab as it plans to launch. I have inside information that they have an initial 100 tokunbo cars to give out on hire purchase to drivers. The cap is #2,000,000 and the interest is 17% per annum for 2 years. That means a #2,680,000 payment over 2 years - or approximately #26,800 per week. If you take a car that is worth #1,500,000; your total payment over 2 years will be #2,010,000 or #20,100 per week. And the whole remittance thing is flexible.
I understand good cars can be registered on the platform too.
EkoCab has the potential to knock both Uber and Bolt out of the Lagos market. Maybe it's time we all key in.
Lastly, e-hailing should always be seen as a side hustle. There are other legit hustles that pay off well. For example, I know someone who brings in Palm Oil into Lagos from Benin. Another packages and sells yam flour on Jumia. Yet another brings in kilishi from Abuja. They all make good money.
My 2 Kobo. My brother that palm oil thing, just like frying akara, they say you have to join something. Thought of that business but my mother in-law say make I no think am. |

pope191: Look at it from this angle, if u have 7 trips daily at 10k and u have 4 hours break in total. Reducing the price now will make you do like 14 trips that may worth 15k with less or no rest, that way you drive extra, u burn more airtime to call rider, u make extra 2500 instead of 5k on 7 trips, while Bolt make extra 1k plus the 2k. At the end of the day it's a win win for Bolt and riders, while car owner face the challenge of fixing over worked variable asset and drivers r left with different aches. #uberdriverslifematter. #uberdriverscantbreath |

xana101: Took one rude girl from gbagada to ikeja. Price was N1,200. On Bolt. Both of us had quarrel from d express to her destination. When she paid me,, I had to swear for Bolt cos if I receive this kind insult and rider paid N2,500. I’ll be happy not receiving insult on peanut, yet they plan of reducing it more. Ok no problem. I’m waiting. One, I won’t put on AC. Two, if u insult me I end trip and drop u. Three, if u no take time I might injure u. Four, ur life will be at risk if u don’t respect urself. That’s why u can’t do uber or Bolt and be successful in Nigeria. Their commission is very high. Fare is so cheap. If u Gross 12k on Bolt a day, ur profit is 6k that is if u drive ur own car. now traffic are everywhere so how do u complete d more rides. Even with d current price at times u won’t be able to off ur app cos request keep coming. I prefer to do 4 trips a day that will give me 10k or more, than doing 10 useless trips. At this juncture, we need a union. #unionforuberboltdriver What you need is a bug, a crawler that can gain access to drivers phones to enable you shut the uber app at will. |

jaymejate: I know what Bolt is trying to do. They see that all other means of transportation are increasing their fees. Danfos, train, and every other transport blah blah blah, they are increasing. This means that people will choose to be comfortable to take Bolt because it's a slight difference in transportation fare.
They did not think about the number of people cars on this bolt can carry and it's not a carry and drop thing or junction to junction thing. Moreover, even if there are millions of requests, traffic will never allow you to do enough for a day. We never talk of those touts calling themselves law enforcement idiots.

Vision2045: To be honest we sincerely need a platform where atleast 70% of e-hailing partners can be reached.....
This companies just do as it suit them.... I don't know if anyone notice that today....around that afternoon destination was hidden.
Now they are talking of economy .....same car, same fuel cost....same wears and tears, same distance.... But low fare.....
Abeg who no go choose economy when you know the service is same as the lite.....why the premium package no sell, na cos less people opt for it....before we know it economy will become the new lite
Aswear if I get money I go buy that indriver repackage their strategy and app... In just a year .. Bolt will be out of business in Nigeria
Imagine someone on economy behaving rudely towards you with the 300naira him/she wan pay u... You know this thing you mentioned can happen o. The way indriver is growing, uber/bolt can buy the company and just crash it. The same way coca cola did with limca. It happens every time with big companies when they feel threatened by smaller companies. |
