pocohantas: Lol. Yes it is. I will be really surprised if a prostitute takes offence for being called just what she is - A PROSTITUTE. Especially when she is on the job and we are all sure she is one Client: I would love to do it through your a-s-s to night Prostitute: there's no way I am letting you into me through there. Client: wetin? No be PROSTITUTE you be? Context is everything. I am sure if he had his head buried in between a ladies boobs, while his head is being rubbed at the same time he was called a taxi driver, he probably would have laughed his heart out. She did wrong. Let's call it what it is. If she needed a ride so badly she could have as well coaxed the guy. |

kodred: Well ultimately, that’s what it will come to.
You say you’re trying to cater to the demographics that can’t afford your services as at now by ‘rigging’ and dealing in tokunbo parts.
Those parts (inferior and tokunbo) fail like kilode.
Like it was noted, the upper middle class is growing and people are beginning to appreciate value in these parts. @45k salary? A bag of rice is 26kplus. I am not sure you realize that there's no such thing as middle class in this country. Its simply the rich and the poor. |

radautoworks: I'm more informed...
..that I pay my people to much
Just joking. My people deserve all they get and more... Most of the time.
It makes sense why people resort to some of the things they do. But it doesn't change that sometimes it's penny wise, pound foolish. One has to think of ways to cater to that demographic. If it means in the future having a budget brand separate from our main brands that strictly deals in "rigging" and tokunbo parts to keep you going with full disclosure, that may be an option but one would have to do research to see if it is worth the potential problems. Yes, we know how to rig but don't.
At one point, EgunMogaji2 was talking about potentially opening an American style junk yard. If something like that was available, that demographic would be a lot easier to serve. This I think we really need in naija. |

I see one lowlife punk downgrading drivers because he feels he's working with a heavenly downstream or whatever. I personally work with an upstream - E & P (Automation Engineer, studied and certified in Brazil ), works offshore (2 weeks in/out). I resigned from a reputable military service to further my studies. Instead of staying idle I decide to romance uber, it's fun and stressful out there, it resets my brain as well.
Driving with uber have expose me to both angels and demons, it really shaped my life in so many ways, I've learned a lot.
Drivers deserves to be respected, it's not easy.
On Friday I picked one nasty lady that was insulting and commanding me to drive like James Bond, I ignored her and she tapped my shoulder from behind and said "mr. Man I'm talking to you", I didn't say anything and she began ranting, I ignored her. According to airtel THAT THING DEY PAIN.
When we get to Blenco she mannerlessly asked me to stop for her to shop, and I did. She get inside, I followed her, we shopped at the end of the shopping I purposely stood behind her, my items were 10x more than what she picked and she asked me who I am, I humbly showed her my IDs when we entered the car, that's when sudden humility overshadowed her she now switched to the front seat, I ended the trip there, gave her a free ride to gulf at lakowe, without collecting a kobo from her for the entire ride. When she asked me why I offer her a free ride, I told her UBER DRIVERS AREN'T POOR.
She called around 11pm, I didn't pick her call, she dropped a message [just checking on you]

The bastard claimed he's davido's boy. Police (FSARS) even block us at jakande because of how he was doing with the oloshos inside the car.
When I told him I will not call him that he'll pay in his next trip, the guy come para, get liver come push me as I was peeing for gutter, tell me say if I no commot for area him dog go eat my carcass. After peeing about to enter my car he held my shirt and asked me to repeat what I said and I told him that Uber will pay me for the trip, while he refund Uber when paying for his next trip.
the bastard slap my back, I ask both Angel and demon for strength, as he was holding my shirt pushing me, with all my strength I gave him uppercut, the guy sumersulted and enter the gutter, the oloshos shouted in an unknown language, I zoom off, report to uber and they pay me with interest.
The most annoying thing is that he wasn't the one that booked the trip, the person that booked the trip switched off his phone when I tried reaching him.
This work needs some kinda madness! Jeez, the CEO' are reading this na. |

thelastorca: is that what you took from what i wrote?
where did i write only foolish ceos use uber?
this is why i said this thread is an insight into thinking processes.
oya, i am ceo of my own company too and i am riding uber . so my last 10 drivers have also carried ceo.
someone was talking about how a ceo was riding in his vehicle and making calls. you think a ceo of a big bank will enter into an unsecured vehicle and start making calls for a stranger to listen in on?so that next thing you will hear on social media how bank so and so is taking over this company?
you don't understand that CEOs are also assets?
you remind me of one day when a bus conductor was saying - the same singlet i wear is the singlet fashola wears. we are all the same. thats the reasoning you are bringing to this argument.
if you actually think that a company that pays a person in hundreds of millions, has security dedicated to him 24/7, depends n him to direct to fortunes of the company will allow him to risk himself/herself, the company's operations and plans, for a ride in an unsecured platform then continue to wallow in your ignorance of i carried the ceo of a lower tier company. if it makes you feel better, so be it.
uber is of no benefit whatsoever to a high networt individual with driver, spy, police pilot vehicle. This dude. So you can't think of any scenario where a CEO will request a ride on uber/bolt? Get creative, bro. I told you earlier, you think with one side of your brain and by now it should be hurting. My sincere apologies if you see this an insult. Any number if issues could happen that could warrant him to ride on uber. Even if that reason was to help someone. The universe writes it's script differently bro. The universe is creative. The universe is complex, yet simple. The problem I have with you is you use long epistle to explain simple things. Who is a CEO if the universe has created his/her fate to meet with someone in an unusual circumstance? |

brogxy: From nitigriti's point of cancellation. Once I get to pick up and see a riders comes out of another Uber car, first is to ask for the destination before the person even settles down. The driver must have rejected the trip for a reason. Imagine if more than five drivers where to cancel, the guy go blow ac tire onto being professional. This people just throw discretion out of the window. |

nitigriti: No, Izzou. The driver should not damage his car because of the customer.
He should take his car off the platform — Uber or Taxify; since he is not okay with the services the platform is providing for him.
So long as he keeps his car on the platform, he is obligated to provide service according to the terms and conditions of the platform.
#StrictlyBusiness #NoSentiments People are just so quick to talk about taking ones car off the platform. Do you guys think uber will succeed without the drivers? Jeez. |
