EducationRe: How Private School Owners Are Dubiously Cheating Their Teachers by CsRockefeller(m):
I have said it before, 80% of business owners in Nigeria don't know jack about running a biz.

Just figure heads.

For schools, I don't know why it's so difficult running such a biz. I was close to my proprietor during my NYSC so I know running a school isn't as difficult as many school owners make it seem.

First thing for Pete's sake is to incorporate the biz. Please, separate running d school from d ownership.

Secondly, get a good Finance Officer (not just an Accountant). Add an Admin Officer, followed by a Principal or Head Master. Spell out duties and functions clearly.

Recruit teachers, and other staff.

If your biz doesn't progress per time then call me a fool.

But ignorance, greed, selfishness will never allow such owners do the right thing.

Running biz in Nigeria is tough, but like our government officials, most biz owners know jack.

The other day I was telling someone that corruption and fraud especially is ingrained in every Nigerian DNA. What few do is to fight that inbuilt trait, the remaining just live it out.

We are such a dishonest people. In an attempt to mask our evil acts we have legalized fraud and corruption into different forms.

A Nigerian doesn't even trust his fellow citizen so why should a foreigner do? Look at how high we build our fences like we are guarding against wild animals.

I threw up a question the other day for people to choose between employing,

1. Competent staff but does not have integrity.
and
2. Incompetent staff but has integrity.
Integrity any day.

What is competence without intergity? That's like Religion without faith.

The pandemic will end up creating a new sets of normal.

I learnt 60% to 70% of workers on Victoria Island are still working from home. 3 of my Stockbrokers have not opened their physical offices but they have done and still doing transactions running to billions of Naira between April and now.

This may affect cost of real estate on the Island. Businesses may just need small offices where workers can come once or twice in a month
Employees at Deloitte have been working from home since April.

Most times, what Nigerians call "Connection" is what is known as "Networking" in the employment sphere. Globally, it is still the number one way people get hired in most industries and is generally preferred by HR professionals. Getting a qualified candidate for a job is not as easy as it seems hence the reliance on recommendations from already trustworthy individuals.
Networking isn't a bad thing as long as one is qualified for the job, it is nepotism and cronyism that should be frowned upon.

Networking, like any other skill, can be learned. Although, most times it is about being in the right place at the right time. Young graduates should strive to improve their networks.
Networking isn't easy o. People won't help especially when they know you are very qualified and the job can change your financial life. They rather recommend their family relations.

But if it's one sme-sme job like that, they will be quick to call you.

Nevertheless, networking is good, I have gotten two jobs in time past from just recommendation.

One of the dangers of getting married to someone both families aren't in support of.

The journey is too long and weary to embark on without family backing.

I know my Dad, he will just forget me in d marriage, it's maybe my mum and my sisters that might even feel sympathy, and that's if they have anything to give at that time.

Love makes a difficult journey slightly easy.

That's me o.

I can't commit myself too anyone who believes in doing an online relationship.

I started using phone from the 3310 days, I did the midnight call stuff and before then, wrote letters. I'm in my late 20s and I can tell you that social media (except maybe Facebook) has destroyed lots of good relationships.

The streets are filled with broken people who are always guiding, not willing to test the water again

We now live in a world where there is nothing nothing anymore, just vibes and collecting ladies number to watch whatsapp statuses.

My thoughts though cheesy
Throw that Watsapp stuff away, I dislike it eh!

I'm more of old school, I want to write love letters to the woman I love, I want to call her in the evening to hear her voice.

On Sunday, I want to take her out to a garden and lay on the grass with our back and our heads facing the moon lol.

I don't like any relationship that is too onlinely, I don't even view people's status anymore.

Let's go offline and build and maintain real relationships.

True
But then Fantasy and illusion is a necessary ingredient for living...
And the so called Hope is the thin line that keeps our sanity even in hard

Yes,the bad news is:there is no Guarantee of getting to the so called Top or getting
success
But the good news is: It isn't impossible either
It is true that there is a crowd of us that wants or dream of it
but it wouldn't be called the Top if everyone was up there and there was no ground

And at the end of the day,the Top is virtually what we define it to be
It is how far we've come from were we once were

All we can do is Try to move ahead
I like you already. You are deep and have got a follower.

My dear leave this love issues...o
Focus your energy and thoughts on building the future you are striving at.. And what will happen will happen

And besides most Quality Girls are also busy building a future for themselves...

Some people are 'lucky' to meet someone they can build with...Others are not

Moreover when you eventually get to the Top, you'll have better taste in Women and broader circles. So chill out!
If you get to meet a Woman you struggle with you to get there, fine.
But if you don't... you'll still have the choice of being with One who's already there
Hard fact @ bolded.

When I went for NNPC interview this year, I met high fliers, lots of them. There was this particular Lady that was on her way to France to study on scholarship all expenses paid by the FG.

As you move up the quality of ladies you meet changes same with guys.

But, one needs to thread with caution, your soulmate might not be at d same level that you are financially or academically. A marriage between Okonjo Iweala and Charles Soludo might not work out based on them being geniuses or being at d same level academically.

However, poverty won't let many see clearly and I don't blame them. For many, love can take a back seat while they go for quid pro quo.

For me, I will love to get married to one that has been with me at d tough times, those are d ones that have passed tru fire and have come out as pure gold. Everyone loves loyalty, even d Bible encourages it.

shocked........ I have always said it that DEMOCRACY IN NIGERIA IS A SCAM. A scam where less than 1% of the population control and squander the collective wealth of the remaining 99%. Honestly, if I were a military officer in the Nigeria army with say a rank like major or colonel or lieutenant general, I would have done a coup. But I'm not sad Someone needs to rescue this country from these institutionalized thieves
Low key, I pray for a military coup. That's d only thing that save Nigeria right now.

Oga boss, I only made a comment and shared a true life story, never asked you to go to village. If I tell you how many people call from Lagos for assistance then you will be shocked. A friend of mine started working on Lagos from nysc days, he got a surgery last year. I was shocked he resorted to alms from his friends, that simply means after working for over ten years he can take care of his medical bills. Continue over hyping, same mistake people make about western countries, we have both very comfortable and very wretched people. Lagos can't be 200m people's solution.
My cousin is trying to wed now, has resided in Lagos all his life, as I type he is hoping on my and my family to help him out but all of us are in the village while he and his family are in Lagos. When we do our own weddings we never disturbed them. Help me forget this Lagos gist.
Lagos is d solution for now till our leaders start doing things right.

Like I said, Akwa Ibom has the resources, on a normal day anyone from there shouldn't be struggling but what about the youths from Afikpo? From Langtang? From Orlu? From Sagamu? From Kazuare? From Bama? From Shagari?

Do they continue to stay in their hometowns when they have been abandoned to their fate? Or is it the 1,000 job per local government of 20k for 3 months that will save them?

Someone talked about mining, if not that people like Saro Wiwa fought and died even the indigenes of these oil producing states would have been beggars in their own land. You didn't read that government owns every mineral resources and that you are no close to competiting with the Chinese who will bribe Govt officials and pay employees peanuts.

Lagos, not even Ph or Abuja is d only place you are guaranteed to little bit of fair play as a Nigerian who doesn't know anyone.

Mr cosmopolitan, u wouldn't understand but I will try to educate you how we welcome people in the village, when a returnee arrives, we leave our activities and home to go to their house to hang around, drink and gist. That I stopped doing because I knew it wasn't necessary, I had to proof that we were equally busy in the village and making money. Unfortunately, I don't compare with any humans that's why am quick to always state here that I don't want to be a dangote and the rest. Each man with his cross, never compete or compare, our paths are definitely different. I wish everybody well as I know that if I become the alpha and omega I will bear the cross alone. During the pandemic, I wished to send palliative to my village as what they got from govt was insulting. Just chat with like minds across the globe and money dropped from all quarters, if I was the only one can I achieve that my passion alone? I am still the village champion, at least there is a champion.
Oga, with all due respect you are talking in d nonsense, you are talking d tin that does not have a meaning.

You want people to stay in d village and hussle because you made it there? Rubbish!!

Do u know that Lagos followed by Abuja has the most capital inflow and cash in circulation?

With its monthly allocation, Akwa Ibom is supposed to be a big state on its own, what has your governors done even for the youths there?

Even in d US people move from the country side to d cities of New York, Washington and co.

So you will advice a graduate of mechanical Engineering to stay in let's say in Dallas when he can move to Detroit and make a name and living for himself?

Let me not say more.

If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't,
It is almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you've lost;
For out in this world we find
Success begins with a person's will
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the person who wins
Is the one who thinks he can!
Wish I can like this a million times

The patterns of consistency among us is to vivid to ignore, the white man knows this and are not stupid to hear those pleas that not all Nigerians are fraudsters or criminals.

Look at how high we build our fences, look at how we hide our BVN nos, even a Nigerian is too scared to trust a Nigerian.

This is Nigeria, everybody na criminal. If you like attack me, facts are facts.

Don't feel bad that people are like that. I have a very good friend, she's a single mom and that's d least of my worries about her.

What people say? I wish you knew that everyone retires to their bed with their own problems, people who talk about other people issues are like feathers, no weight, no value, no position, so don't be bothered, the are inconsequential.

Other things to say but let me stop here.

Love that child, asides all other reasons to do so it's a duty.
