ositadima1: I will rather live in a Nigeria where nothing is free but you get your money's worth in services. That is why obodo oyigbo is d way it is. You provide the services before you tax the citizens, that's how it's done not the other way round. Now tell me, what has the Govt provided to warrant these taxes? You want to tax me for the land I bought, sand filled, dug bore hole, bought a pole and wired my house, graded d road, provided a security at the gate? |

ositadima1: If the telecoms are doing ok without subsidies and yet everyone, both the wealthy and the poor, patronize them daily why can't other sectors (like electricity, gas and petrol providers) do same? Was there any time the Telecom industry especially under NITEL was under subsidy? There is a difference between liberalisation, Privatisation, Commercialisation and Socialism (where subsidy comes in). |

ultron12345: In my view, the government shouldn't waste it's scarce resources on commercial enterprises. Let the government resources go for things like basic education, healthcare, defence etc
Government doesn't need to spend a kobo of scarce resources on power. Just create the right policies and private investors will generate all the power we need in the shortest time possible. Not the current situation where electricity companies are complaining of being forced by NERC to sell below their cost price. Investors will take loans, build power plants and transmission/distribution lines, generate power, sell that power, and make a healthy profit, from which they will pay back their loans. Same thing goes for railways, airlines, pipebourne water etc. Let the private sector handle it. All the government needs to do is tax the private sector to provide education, healthcare etc
The government needs to free up the economy. Regulations are too tight. Government just dey chook hand everywhere, spreading it's scarce resources thin. Look at NNPC refineries and how theyre wasting money. Was it not the Kaduna refinery that made 60B loss last year with zero revenue. Why should the government be running refineries in the first place. Deregulate and privatise these things PROPERLY and watch the private sector work wonders.
Even major inter-state roads can be given to private companies to construct and operate. In other countries, you'll see so so road is owned 35% by this company, 25% by that company, 15% by that equity fund etc In other countries, when traveling by road, you always budget for tolls. But in Nigeria, it's all free. I rather drive on good, smooth, safe roads and pay tolls than to drive on death traps where container can fall on head for free. You are a bloody capitalist and if you were to be the President in a developing country like Nigeria, it won't be long before you are overthrown. |

emmanuelewumi: Which of the roads? Where is the location of road?
I disagree with you. Let us wait for how soon the roads will need repairs before saying it is substandard.
When you drive on a solid road that is well built you will know, I think Apapa Oshodi express road is about the best road in Lagos as we speak It's still the same express way especially at the Ogudu to Alapere end. Road construction is not just building a strong or durable main carriage way, other things also help to make it last and for commuters safety. The side median his company tru PWC or is it PW is building have all fallen. How can you do a side median without supporting it with concrete? The drainage system still present is what JB built years ago, the fee they patch they make use of this local system by forging the iron on site and using wood to support the concrete. It's just like the Chinese tru CCECC that think they are building sth fantastic. Go and see the rail and bridges they are constructing, so substandard. Look at Ikorodu road they handled just few years down and it's so bad. JB still remains d best and Dangote or the Chinese should not deceive Nigerians that they are building anything solid because they aren't. If you want to reconstruct a road and do it right from the scratch like it's being done on Lagos Ibadan express way. What Dangote is doing is mere carriage way resurfacing just that now it's concrete and the tax relief he is getting doesn't worth the work being done. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by CsRockefeller(m): 6:42am On Aug 02, 2020 |
You are reconstructing a road, no median, no culvert, no drainage, no road sign and markings.
They aren't even the first with the technology, JB has had it for a long time but it's too expensive for the Govt to afford.
All your bridges are built with the same technology. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by CsRockefeller(m): 6:39am On Aug 02, 2020 |
emmanuelewumi: And cheaper than what it would have cost government to construct the road.
Completion of the project was also very fast, Cement/Concrete road is very expensive and Dangote is doing a substandard work on the Lagos-Oronshowki expressway. It's just the main carriage way they are fixing nothing more. I feel it's a loss on our side. |

I'd never advise a woman to date down, she has to be equally yoked with someone on her level. It's you foolish Nigerians that think marriage is the beginning and end of life, I just hope more women come to realise that men aren't worth it, they should focus on their own lives and if the right man comes along, she can move with him. We know there are many judgy and unstable people on the internet, so many people now understand if people choose not to post their family on SM. I think you should stand firm on your decision and not waiver. That was how the monkey told the antelope to use it's horn to confront the tiger. But the antelope forgot to take note that the monkey had no experience on the land as it was fond of living on trees. |

Who wasn't stealing from him? From the manager to the logistics personnel to d lady in charge of invoice/procurement.
Funny thing is that he knew they were stealing but Baba just relax say money too much. The site engineers were doing haphazard projects.
Day of reckoning came, our client a top mobile telecommunication co sent their project inspectors, the level of substandard projects were too grave too ignore and bribe couldn't work this time.
By October, we were blacklisted. I had just resumed there in August. Pay was okay, all my plans came crashing down, haven't recovered since then as a staff not to talk of the owner.
Last I heard of him, he is in serious debt. The Banks are after him, the engine of his N20m jeep bought last year has knocked. I really feel pity for him.
Man took his feet of the gas and everything came crashing down.

If I was the cowering kind, I would have submitted password two years ago. I can't relinquish everything in the name of marriage. My social media is my social media. He can do whatever he likes with his, let me do what I like with mine. Damn! Seems you already want out. I can bet that your marriage is loveless and tasteless. To the guys especially, d bolded enforces the reason why you shouldn't date, let alone marry anyone who isn't keen on spending d rest of their lives with you. Don't push it, don't try to over convince any lady with words, money, gifts or attention. If she isn't interested, it's best you let her be. When people do certain things with conviction it helps them to fight when things go sour. If I wanted to read Economics in school and I get admitted to read Economics, during the tough periods once I remember this is what I chose, this is what I wanted, my choice, it helps and gives me that strength to fight on and pass it. When you push too hard to get a lady to marry you, this is what you get. As far as she is concerned she never wanted you at first. In summary, if she doesn't show interest, desire, if she isn't keen please walk away, don't even ask twice. It's for your own good o. Let him that have ears hear. |

If no one taught me the wicked ways of women at least my sisters did.
Me no fit spend more than 5k (out of a good heart and benevolence) on any female.
Even the kitchen that I thought I needed them for, I do my dishes myself.
To hell with any bitch that calls herself a woman.
The good ones are very few just like finding a needle in a hay stack.
I am getting very close to the point of just seeing women as sex objects with no good importance. |
