MrHowto: The west vote for Jonathan at first then later voted against him. What of the east? They never voted for Buhari at first, voting against him for the second term is nothing new. Their vote are inconsequential. Their votes are inconsequential only if buhari retains every vote he got in 2015. In case you have forgotten, the difference between Jonathan and buhari was 2 million even with all the child voting in the core north. If buhari loses the middle belt, he has lost the presidency. |

SporaD8: At the bolded, Read this This is what leads to the present state of PDP being reduced to a regional party. As SW not having choice, No! They once had a choice with GEJ in 2011, which Bubu also contested remember? How is PDP a regional party? Because APC is currently in power? The same APC that have not yet done their national convention, which PDP has done successfully. I hope you won't cry of disenfranchisement by the time the regional party regains power. After -all, they are a regional party. |

QuotaSystem: What you deserve is the barest minimum as protected by the constitution (e.g ministerial posts, not withholding federal allocation etc).
The emboldened is the reality of partisan politics. Interests must be settled. OBJ withheld Lagos LG allocation for a long time despite being from the region just because it was controlled by an opposition party. Politics is not a tea party, even in the Vatican.
If you were not screaming marginalisation every second using the same bridge as a crying point, nobody would consider it the hallmark of eastern development. The barest minimum according to whose definition? Was buhari not elected to set Nigeria on the path of prosperity? So if significant investment is needed in the south east states like aba and nnewi to activate Nigeria's indigenous manufacturing to improve national industrial base, he would not do it because he has to do just the barest minimum since they didn't vote for him. ? Does that sound sane to you? Does that sound like a promising government that knows what he is doing? It seems we have different definitions of a president and his functions as an elected leader. I have no problem with him giving his lackeys political appointments if he needs to settle them. But you do not play politics with major projects. Nigeria is too underdeveloped for that nonsense. |

Shameful! They came to beg for forgiveness. An average igbo man with his sense of pride? Even if for the sake of argument, that were the case : isn't that supposed to be a sign of mature politics? Will Trump not do anything to get the democrats to beg him for "forgiveness " .? Btw, does voting against someone according to constitutional rights require forgiveness? Which village do you hail from with this kind of mentality? You still never answer me. |

What is the basis of knowing Nigeria politics when all it's done is drag us all backwards? Your poor leadership shows north and southwest have the least knowledge on politics, rather just pure incompetence and ignorance. QuotaSystem: You're entitled to your opinion, but facts are sacred and the constitution rubbishes your claims.
Nobody said the President is free to hand out projects as he pleases so stop your juvenile tricks. I said the opposition regions get what they deserve (Is the 2nd Niger Bridge not being built as we speak?), but cannot expect to enjoy the same patronage, concessions and favours that ruling party regions enjoy.
Ideally your postulations might be right, but they don't reflect the reality of partisan politics worldwide.
Politics is not a tea party. What they deserve? What the hell is what they deserve? When did development become a function of what you deserve? Is buhari going to be there forever? There is a real chance he will lose. If the new president comes in and stop the Lagos -Ibadan rail because he feels the South West doesn't deserve it, does that sound like a president? BTW, I don't know who gave you the impression the bridge is our most important priority or the only thing we want. I am tired of hearing people paint the sum total of Eastern development as the second Niger bridge. It is not like only the east benefits from it. |

Unlike some peeps who believe politics is all about Mouth and Chest, Burning bridges and calling everybody names. And were was the alliance in over 16 years of the PDP? You talk as if the SW had any choice before going for buhari. That was your only choice and you made it. And luckily for you, he won. There is nothing highly phenomenal about supporting buhari atleast from south western perspective. They claim Jonathan marginalised them and you voted for buhari, just the same way the east will support anybody but buhari. There is nothing highly intelligent about it. Buhari already ran with an igbo vice before. So what is the big deal? |

What a shame! They paid him solidarity in the spirit of friendship and fair politics. And yet you call them the hateful ones. Donald Trump would give anything for democrats states to show him that kind of solidarity, it would certainly solve a lot of problems. Which village do you come from? |

QuotaSystem: Yes development projects are dividends of democracy. Were you ignorant of that?
Does the oil revenue legally belong to the regions or Buhari's federal government? Why then would oil revenue stop flowing to the FG? I believe you're more intelligent than the emotional hacks that litter this forum so please use your brains.
This isn't about me, Buhari or APC; but is the nature of partisan politics worldwide, which is why I made reference to Trump and Obamacare.
If you're just another troll ranting based on emotions instead of logic, miss me with further mentions. No, development are not mere presidential dividends to be handed at the pleasure of the president. Because Nigeria is not a group of autonomous regions. In Nigeria currently, Development in a region is linked to other national developments, unless you agree that your buhari is not here to develop Nigeria but to reward his friends and leave. Then I can agree with you on that ,while we wait for a real president. The oil in the oil states certainly belong to their land owners. Ancestral ownership that predates Nigeria. They reap the environmental consequences of the oil exploration and not Muhammad buhari that is holed up in Abuja. The oil belongs to them in real terms. The FG is holding it in trust for them. But the main point is that your buhari is able to use oil revenues from those regions because past presidents spent billions to invest in those region. Oil did not just start flowing from there. It took massive diplomatic and financial investment from past federal administrations in those regions to create the stable oil revenue streams that your buhari is currently enjoying. Which he now feels he can use to settle those that voted for him. Continue. History will not be kind to him. I am certain of that. |

Opposition states get what they deserve, but ruling party states enjoy federal concessions, favours and patronage in addition. Dividends? You call development ,dividends? So buhari will deliberately ignore viable developmental projects because the concerned regions did not vote for him? We are talking about the president who was voted in to set Nigeria on the path of prosperity. Why didn't he stop collecting oil revenues from the regions that didn't vote for him.? You and your buhari are nuts. |

Lagos-Kano railway is being built, Lagos-Ibadan expressway is being fixed, the National Stadium in Lagos just got handed over to LASG etc...the regions strategic development interests are protected.
Anyone who says the SW is not benefiting from being in this government more than the opposition regions has his head 6 feet deep in the sand. Its not all about Tinubu. So in other words, his presidency does not extend to the opposition states, and claims of marginalisation from those regions are valid. Good to know. |

rentAcock: Cemeteries are a waste of land. No family members will ever exhumed the bodies of their deceased relatives for viewing or anything so why do humans continue to waste parcels of land for cemetaries? Once a person dies, they should be celebrated, have parties or whatever but immediately after, their bodies should be cremated and instantly turned to ash. There's just too many people on this planet to be converting land unto burial grounds, it's foolish. Left to me, it should be a federal law. Dead people should be cremated or burnt to ashes to save productive land. But Nigeria is too religious. It will never happen. |

MrMystrO: I usually don't support this guy but he's damn right about The mentality of Nigerians. As a Nigerian, I can testify that many other Nigerians don't like to see their fellow Nigerians become TOO successful. That mentality is inherent in mostly poor Nigerians and that's why most people who were once poor but eventually became rich are secretly despised by people who knew them when they were poor and before you know they automatically start cooking up stories to accuse you of Ritual, robbery, yahoo and other illegal stuff. This is not because they are just being cautious(which a few people genuinely are) But 97% of the time it's mostly because you were poor like them but now you're no longer on their level and this automatically fills their heart With HATE. HATE is usually the motivating factor for this Common Nigerian Mentality. Very Very bad. No sane country will allow the likes of hushpuppi keep spending without finding out the source of his income. You can't spend recklessly as a hustler in North America or western Europe without consequences. You will be investigated by every relevant agency in the land. That is why the likes of hushpuppi and mompha do their business in far flung Asia with much less government oversight compared to saner climes. It is not bad belle. It is common sense.lľľ |
