SmartPolician: Nigeria happening to people means evils happening to them because Nigeria is a dysfunctional country.
The day you pass Seme border and see how organised smaller countries like Benin Rep and Togo are, you will be ashamed of Nigeria. Please tell him. Let him know that it is the duty of the government to provide security for its citizens, and then punish crime. When criminals know that they will face the consequences of their actions, they are constrained from committing crime. |

Sonnobax15: Good morning and a happy weekend to every Nairalander out there..... Hope everyone is doing just fine?
Just this morning, the sad news about the demise of my neighbor who's an okada rider broke out....A young man who was in his early 30's....He had barely finished balancing the motorcycle which he took on a higher purchase price three weeks ago........And we even drank and celebrated with him when the original particulars of the motorcycle were handed over to him.... This was someone whom we joked and laughed as at yesterday morning before I left for my shop, while he also left for his transport work....
Before now,he spoke about him being fed up with the okada work....And how he planned to leave it anytime soon, but had wanted to open a provision shop for his wife....
Now,the real gist about his whole life was that he left behind 5 kids and a wife......All through the times we spent together as neighbors, he was a very hardworking man whom never relented or gave up on his responsibilities as a man....While most of us who were equally into the transportation business were resting, this guy was always on the road, hustling......... Sometimes, whenever we came across each other on the road, there was a popular Mama-Put joint where we used to usually buy beans and yam,and most times just chill up and gist ,I would joke with him like--"Oga Mike, eat better food , because na you dey work the money". But he would shrug it off, saying he can't, because his family were at home and it won't be nice if he should eat without them....
This guy never wore nice clothes......He lived his entire life solely on how to put food on his family table while neglecting his own self.......There were times when even to buy ordinary paracetamol,he wouldn't buy it, because he believed that money could be used for something else.......
Tho we've mourning but I find it quite amusing and confusing on why a man would live his life, being victimized by the responsibilities that falls upon him as a man....
Dear men, please take care of yourself.....Do not fall victims to the pressure that comes along with being a father.....Tho it's comprehensible that as a Father,it's your role to take care of your home.....But you can as well do that without losing your life in the process...... Because when you're gone, the same family whom you were toiling and hustling your asss up just to feed and shelter, they will move on with their lives and just within a matter of time, you'll be forgotten What is an okada rider doing with 5 kids at 35? He wan sell them ? What happened to 1 Pikin or non at all till he becomes stable? Na him do him self . No pity to give . |
Family › Re: My Elder Brother Is Dead!!!!!!! by cucumbar: 12:47pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Saladdin: I am so so sorry brother @IceColdVeins. That's to show how scary and vain this life is. Be right back please.
From his nickname, I can deduce you are Muslims.
If I am correct, the best you could do for him now is to immediately reduce your grief and start thinking logically. Because life after death is real, very real!
First thing first, after the burial, let them start getting across to his contacts, Whatsapp, banks and co. Check if he's owing anyone or any entity. That should be your first priority. Do a comprehensive check on this please. If he's owing be committed to paying it off for him. Either from his money or look for a way. If he's not owing, that's one big relief.
Secondly, tell Dad and other to immediately organize prayers for him. Prioritize the following:
—Suratul Ikhlas, —Suratul Mulk —Suratul Yasin
Then others should also follow. On your own too, seek forgiveness for him as much as you can.
Third do charity on his behalf either communal based ones like portable water, or so. If you are not that buoyant, please do smaller one like food donations, money (no matter how little, to his credit).
Do this as frequently as you can. Faith is very important here because, we know that the earth is not the only plane of existence. As a matter of fact, earth is like 0.01, the 99.99 of our existence is otherworldly. And a day is coming where we'll definitely see our loved ones again. But seeing them in a good station is of high-priority.
And if he's not a Muslim, the best to honor his memory by through charity, no matter how little.
I'm so sorry bro, sending you lots of hugs. 😀 how do you know all these? You don die before? |

AngelahFlo: Hello Guys, For our Retro walk I wanna take those of us Gen X into a time in our childhood when innocence was real and true. Kingsway Stores which was the first indegenous departmental stores that first opened to the public in 1948 alongside Leventis Stores. It was unique in every way by bringing a feel of London's West End to Nigeria.
At the store you can buy imported items at affordable prices and there're so many fond memories of that era. My fondest memories was of my dad coming home with goodies for us like toy cars and water balls. It was the Shop rite and Ebeano Stores of the time.
What led to its decline was the oil price of the mid 80s and the SAP sanction of '86 which led to a ban on imported goods. It's really a sad story filled with nostalgia. Let the images below speak for themselves and you'll see Future CO of Silverbird empire as a 7 year old kid on the lap of Santa Claus in Kingsway Store. Tinubu happened to them. So sad! |

hotwax: because they know who palestinians are. Arab countries are tired of jihad. Only roman catholic countries are using jihadists to fight israel.
Remember 800years ago, Roman catholic raised armies of Jihadist to take on Jews and christians in Jerusalem.
This is where the friendship of jews and christians started. You wonder why christians are supporting the jews? You have your answer there.
Its enshrined in the history of this world. Rome/Jesuit are pulling their strings again. They let the UN arm hamas.
Rome still believes they will take Jerusalem back. Jews are wise this time.
Rome hate Jews with passion. Spain and Italy were the main roman catholic warriors, the crusaders.
History is being tried to be activated. Unfortunately, they will succeed again. |

epainos: I always laugh when I hear about buying a house in Lekki because there is an airport, a free trade zone, Dangote Airport, and so on. It is not a bad idea to have a commercial property there. If you have a residential property, target workers in the surrounding area. So, no matter how you look at it, the location is not a loss if you are prudent. However, I cannot live in Lekki and will not conduct business in the area unless I want to rent out apartments or hotels. Anything other than Lekki real estate is off the table for me.
It is true that wealthy men are leaving the area quickly. The ones who will not leave easily are in phase 1. I suppose they can always withstand a one to two-month flood every year.
Following this ordeal, Eko Atlantic will attract more investors...lol. I am sure that some of the people who own houses worth more than a billion naira will consider purchasing three to five-bedroom apartments in one of Eko Atlantic's high-rise buildings. This will be a smart move. Eko Atlantic is designed to physically push the Atlantic Ocean back from interfering with V/I. The entire Ahmadu Bello to Akin Adesola area used to be flooded due to ocean overflow, but that is no longer the case with Eko Atlantic.
The only places I can live on the island are Ikoyi and Eko Atlantic, but as I previously stated, I can rent apartments anywhere on the island. If you have been following my thread, you will know that Suruleru is my favorite area in Lagos. Gbagada is not bad either, but I still prefer Surulere (not the attached fake Surulere called Ijesha and further down....even the extreme Aguda near those dirty places is not Surulere on my map). I have written about this several times.
I actually have a plan. Honestly, I am putting it out there as a seed of faith. I plan to build a new town along the Lagos-Calabar and Lagos-Sokoto highways, which are close to Lagos. Clear a minimum of 500 to 1,000 ha and convert it into a new town. VI is not up to 600 ha, while Eko Atlantic is 1,000 ha. I will not go into detail, but it will house extremely wealthy Nigerians while also creating opportunities for high-income earners. Poverty will not exist near it. And maybe we can have two of these towns, or maybe the government will appreciate my work and ask me to build more. Who knows?
On a serious note, if I were governor, my priority would be to demolish many buildings on the Lagos Mainland (Ebute Metta, Alagomeji, and Yaba) and replace them with high-rises, expanded road networks, and a good drainage system similar to the one along Herbert Marcaulay. In addition, all flyovers will be removed so that underground crossroads can be built throughout the district, complete with mini business centers and shops.
I do not think Lagos will sink as predicted because we have super brains who will not let it happen. When the treat becomes a reality, the entire world will come to the aid of cities facing similar problems. Rather, we will reclaim more land from the Atlantic Ocean for Lagos. A beg talk another thing. This is why I avoid buying overpriced properties in Lekki and Ajah. Ajah near the Dangote refinery should be well planned; otherwise, it will be a dumping ground in thirty years. If properly planned, that area will become the next Ikeja. It will be even better because it will combine Apapa and Ikeja (sea and air ports).
Lagos represents the future. Trust me when I say this. This is the city that many foreigners will flee to. In the next 50 years, Lagos will be completely covered in high-rise buildings.
So, for our generation, let us simply enjoy what we have.
God bless! Dreamer 😁 Pikin wey go grow tall, na from Small Pikin dem Dey know . Lagos this , Lagos that. With the useless people parading themselves as government? Even the coastal road they are building in 2025, they didn’t make arrangements for drainage until water started washing off the side of the construction. We don’t have seasoned engineers or architects in Nigeria. It will only get worse. Lagos won’t compare with any good city even in Africa in the next 500 years. |

emmasoft: MMF Managers you can pick from
I have observed here recently that most of the new entry into the MMF investment arena are so much concerned about rate. Yes it's good to be concerned about rate but let's get it clear MMF rate is daily valued and fluctuates, so there is no particular MMF rate that can be be preferred to the other in absolute terms.
Based on the nature of the investment, the rate is always in a range in the industry which is currently between 18 to 20%; every other consideration is centered on quality of customer services, easy of navigation of investment platform, ease of redemption etc.
In terms of safety of your funds it's the same irrespective of the fund manager. Once an MMF has the following parties to the fund, you are good to go:
Fund manager licensed by SEC Custodian bank Trustees Government presence (SEC)
Using some of the above cretaria I will recommend any of these:
Stanbic Norrenberger First Ally First Asset SFS though it's a fixed income fund, it's operated like MMF and the rate is most stable compare to all others. Rate has been 19.01% for about a year now.
To go with any of the firms above get in touch or click on the link on my signature for some of them.
Happy new week. . |
