While the story might be sweet to tell today, I know it did not all happen by my effort! I am a believer in God and an ardent respect for the common laws, and also hard working. I could remember when some Nigerians in the UK then were fleecing banks thinking they were smarter, and I completely held on to my faith in God. But today, when I meet some of them they ask, how did you even manage to get this job and pass the stringent level of security attached to it? Well my answer to them and to others planning of coming to the UK is this: Do what is right in the eyes of the UK laws and be honest with people.

I will say this: All the Nigerians that were in these same set with me in my faculty in University have remained in the UK and guess what, they are all working for multi-nationals in UK, Australia, US and other parts of Europe.

1) My mum- has supported me all my life and taught me how to be a successful/resourceful woman that men would respect. She taught me independence and dependence on her alone. My mom is my role model even at her age, she still wakes up early in the morning to go to work to provide for her household. She is a woman I emulate & live by her legacy & integrity.

2) God/Jesus- Whether you like it or not, he is present and makes things work out for you. He points your mind/focus to the right path.

3) Inner Determination/Ambition/Strength(Independence & female empowerment)- I have always had the fighting go-getter feminism spirit that tells me where am headed and how to get there. I have been focused since my childhood and looked straight ahead at my destination never bothered about my obstacles & shortcoming. Oh boy, I fought my way through and would have fought even harder to get my dreams.

There are opportunities in UK I agree but certainly not as much as there used to. Take away the insecurity and infrastructural challenges, which in themselves represent another platform of opportunities, Nigeria is the virgin land of great and unharnessed potentials

Educate me about the bolded. How many people have been able to tap from this? Or make use of this? How many people are able to utilize resources the way they ought to or desire to?
