edicolove: It is sad that Nairaland is now filled with kids who have some cheap Internet connection and think insulting their president is fun. Just another evidence of how bad the education system is.

What the president has noted is so profound. It is one of the core reason Nigeria is shyte! How can a system with half baked graduates produce anything? Whether it is power or agriculture or infrastructure, no country has been able to transform itself without the aid of serious research and researchers. The secret of the new Asia are the professors and professionals who came back from the western world to commit their knowledge to rebuilding their countries.

If GEJ or anyone can trigger that kind of reverse brain drain, he/they will be true legends.

And to those posting out of gross stu.p.idity, there is no government in the world that doesn't work with commitees. From US to China, all governments setup commitees do stuff. It is normal government protocol. If you don't know that, ypu shouldn't be posting on a forum like this. You should go back to school.

Compare the ratio of PhD's to students today and same ratio 20yrs ago and tell yourself the truth, which is smaller n which had more impact. Why do we believe so much in paper qualification?
In the universities you only go to get a career path, the basic education is in Elementary and secondary levels. And this is where the mess is in Nigerian education system. And you are here promoting setting up of committee to 'generate' more PhD's. Or do we need PhD's to teach in elementary and secondary schools? Do Lecturers(PhD's) teach grammar, comprehension, and verbal reasoning in the universities?
Must every Nigerian be a graduate to get a job? How many of the expatriates that we worship in Nigeria are graduates, yet they know what they do? Why not energize the system economically and go back to the foundation(elementary/secondary) level to do a proper thing? Then allow those who have a calling/career in academia to pursue PhD. You are here clapping for my 'uncle' because he will make you a member of the committee for PhD production.

Abi he just want to create a ministerial committee to 'look' into creating more PhD's like
himself? Uncle Jona, U make me ashamed sometimes to tell someone I am a PhD student. If
all PhD's were to be like yours, I'll rather prefer my FSLC(primary 6).

Single ladies won't let married me rest. They even abandon their bf's for the married men.
Who is to blame? The fact is, if a married man approaches 3 different ladies n all say NO

I have 3 cases on my desk now, 2 of them are married women cheating on their hubby's with other married men
and I'm divide between telling their husbands or keeping quiet. The 3rd one is a single lady who even vow
to eliminate the man's wife of 5yrs to marry the guy. What a digital world?

Bottomline: Lady aid and abet cheating men. Some even initiate it. Not all men cheat and not all women are innocent.
