AgricultureRe: See My Newly Acquired Cabinet Dryer. by Curiouscity(m): 5:59pm On Oct 25, 2023
davinchi101:
Hi fellow agropreneurs, I just acquired this cabinet dryer. The goal is to use it in drying fresh farm produce, and reselling the dehydrated ones here in Nasarawa state.

My focus is on groundnut; buying the fresh ones in bulk, and drying it up with the dryer. We know how rainy August is. And it's a time when fresh groundnut is in abundance. Many business men who want to hoard don't buy due to frequent rain.

The plan is that by August next year when the price of the old groundnut would have gotten to the peak, we will buy the fresh ones, dry them up with the dryer, break them and sell them off. It will still meet the price of the old ones in the market.

I also look into supplying dry ginger, potatoes to the sellers. ( A moudle of dry ginger is now 1500 tongue)

1. Now to the bosses in the house, how else do u think one can make the maximum use of the dryer to generate revenue.

2. What other farm produce can be focused on.
Is it a dryer or a dehydrator?
What is the energy source? Solar or National grid?

There are many things you can extend their shelf life by dehydrating.

@bold, which one be true identity biko? grin
I don't agree with that statement sha but okay.
Lol!

True identity? Every human has 3 types of identity.
1. True self - who s/he truly is
2. The one s/he thinks s/he is
3. The one s/he wants people to know or believe s/he is.

Most women spend all their time promoting #3.
You stated above that this is for cheating men who maltreat their wives, so let's keep it that way.

It's better to treat what is wrong as wrong and try to correct it, even if like you said women will do same but personally I don't think so because females are by nature more tender and kinder than men, even their physiological and hormonal makeup makes them softer.
While I don't like to do comparison, the bold part of your statement is why many men have gone to the beyond very early. Most Nigerian women can appear to be kind and soft, but when their wicked side is activated are deadlier than all men combined. Women are very lovely creatures, and are very good at covering their true identity.
AgricultureRe: How To Solve Unemployment Problem & The Solution To Poverty In Nigeria by Curiouscity(m): 8:50pm On Sep 26, 2023
FarmsFarmer:
Do you want to solve your unemployment problem, to get a job and be gainfully employed?

Just go into farming and become a farmer anywhere in Nigeria.

Stop all these complains that there are no jobs. There are enough jobs for everyone and enough money to be made from farming and agriculture. Stop this ignorance and laziness.

Stop putting your hands in your pocket with your tie and coat early in the morning and arguing with jobless people at the newspaper stand wasting your time and wasting away your life and bringing yourself poverty and your family poverty.

Put off the coat and tie and enter the farm and work hard and make a lot of money for yourself.

Farming is so profitable and guaranteed that I keep wondering why Nigerians are still complaining of poverty.

If you complain of poverty, it means you are lazy!

Why can't you enter the farm and work?

Must everybody do white collar jobs? Look at the name self "white collar", it means it's for white people and not for you Africans. Are you a white man??

Stop being deceived, enough is enough, go to the farm and work and see how God will bless you within a short period of time.

Stop this idleness and complaining about the government. Government cannot do everything for you. So help yourself.

Pls go to the farm and you will never lack food and money.

God bless you.

While I agree with you to some extent, everyone cannot be a farmer. But there are many opportunities in the value addition and supply system. We should learn to extend the shelf life of the agricultural items from our farms. This sector holds massive employment opportunities. Food/Farm logistics is another area.

But most importantly, Nigerians should learn the currency of trust. This will foster partnership, thereby bringing out economic of scale, rather than having small stead farmers that hardly break even.

EKPO NKA AGWO"

Ekpo Nka Agwo The Deity That Expose And Punish Infidelity Among Married Women In Akwa Ibom state

Ekpo Nka Agwo, the Ibibio and Annang ancestral spirits or ghosts of adultery.

Ekpo Nka Agwo regulate, check, expose, and punish infidelity among authentically married women, in order to maintain the sanctity of marriage among the Ibibio.

According to Ibibio and Annang mythology, in Akwa Ibom state and some parts of Cross River, if a married woman commit adultery and refuses to admit her infidelity for possible cleansing, she dies during childbirth or lose her children.

It been believe that their souls will be claimed by the deity.

In the other hand, if a man is aware of his wife's adulterous ways and fails to expose her, Ekpo Nka Agwo will in return claim his soul. So many lives have been lost as a result of this.
With the level of adultery going on in Akwa Ibom now, I doubt this deity abi spirit is still alive. Or has it/he/she been converted to another religion?

Sex with another man mean nothing to some married women these days.

On a more serious note, most of the deaths during childbirth had little or nothing to do with "ekpo nka agwo". They were cases where modern medical practices would have averted. My opinion though!

Support your wife if you want a happy home. Make provisions for the kids and let your wife chase her dream. I won't want you to take the blame that you stole your wife's dream.
I always laugh when I read the bold statement. Lol.

This is what marriage has turned into, especially for we the blacks. The man pays all the bills, provides and protects. He will have to make provision for the kid's care. Meaning, he will pay for a nanny to care for the kids. The nanny will likely turn to a cook or he hires a chef. All these so madam can work and keep her money to herself. I have seen a family where the man buys petrol or pay transport for the wife to and from work, yet he does not know where her salary goes. So much for building a family.

* Happy wife, happy marriage is a big lie. You can't make a modern woman happy, except you become a slave to her.

* I think the meaning of marriage and family has changed.

Homesteading means moving to less populated places where one can acquire land to cultivate crops, raise animals and carry out small/medium scale production on relatively small plots of land measuring from a few plots to a few acres. It involves leaving the urban lifestyle with it's stress, pollution, crime etc to move to a more serene environment where one can live directly from the land and other economic activities. Do we have people who are homesteaders or wish to be homesteaders in Nigeria? This thread is for us.
Homesteading is not necessary about where you live, it is more about how you live. It is more of self-sufficiency. Yes, subsistence agriculture is a major component, but it also involves making your own needs, food preservation and processing. Making your own needs like soaps, milk, yoghurt, textile, drinks like beer/wine, etc. It means minimal dependence on other people.

This is what I hope to do in about 20years from now.

He had what needs as a father of 4 children, the youngest of whom is just 5-years-old? What needs would a man have to justify the killing? If he needed emotional help, there are mental health therapists all over Daytona Beach he could have gone to. So what needs did he have that lead him to this foolishness? undecided
When I joined Nairaland some years ago, I assumed that you lived in USA based on some of your responses here. But I think you just enjoy cruise and controversy. I was expecting you to broaden the explanation on why men (in western world) sometimes resort to this level of crime, killing their spouses.
Note, it is not only Africans/Nigerian men who kill their partners. Maybe, they are the majority.

Sadly, there is no justification to kill the mother of your children, but the western culture is not ready to address the root cause of these killings. In the west, in any domestic dispute, a woman is always right in the eyes of the law, except when there is compelling evidence to prove otherwise. On the hand, a man is always guilty until proven otherwise. Is this EQUALITY?
Most Nigerian ladies being aware of this, are most inclined to lie, and accuse their spouses falsely, just to have their way.

A system where a partner who cheated is still entitled to 50% of the assets during divorce is not helping the family. Marriage in western world is the only contract in which one party is rewarded for breaking it.

A system with many temporary shelters for women who experience domestic violence or abuse, but none for men. Many cases abound where the man called the police when he is physically abused by his partner, but the man ends up being removed from the house or even arrested, just by mere testimony of the wife alone.
Hardly any justice for married men in the western world. If you are a black immigrant, the odds against you doubles.

Men should start taking care of their mental/emotional health more, and learn how to walk away and count their losses in situation that have gone so toxic. They shouldn't put their children through the agony/trauma of having the knowledge that their mom was killed by their father who is now in prison.

Same change I expected from my wife, but all the feminists a.k.a modern women accused me of being controlling? That I should love her the way she is?

Ok. Change is good when it's the man undergoing the change. If it is expected from the woman, then the man is toxic and controlling.

I have said this before and I'll say it again, no woman leaves a man who treats her well.

My own MIL, the highest she can stay for Omugwo is 3weeks, she even try for you sef for that three weeks. She will be running back to her husband.

You see a woman that "nags", it is because she still cares about you, when she goes silent, wetin dey her mind, na only she know. She will endure till the right time to bolt. The man will now be wondering where he went wrong not knowing that he went wrong a long time ago, na manifestation he just dey see.

Treat your wives well, don't be a Lion in the home, be relatable, treat your wives with love and respect, develop friendship and intimacy with your wife that will sustain you both till old age.

I know old women who don't stay for Omugwo cause them no fit leave their husband, such husbands are reaping where they sowed ni. If they were bad to their wives, you think the wives will be running back to them?

What kind of old woman wants to start life afresh, even looking for a job in UK at that old age when she should be enjoying retirement with her husband?

Make una dey ask these kind questions.
Would you say same if it was the reverse? That is the man abandoning the woman with whatever excuse?

The hypocrisy and double standard of the modern woman needs to be studied.

Pikadili:
Hi everyone,

How do you deal with mother in-law who uses emotion to blackmail your wife (her own daughter)?

We got married few years back, and everyone knows I earn a decent living.

Once in while I send funds and foodstuffs to them, but what I noticed of recent. Any challenge they have (financial issues, low patronage in thier businesses) at home they share with their daughter (my wife) immediately. she will become moody afterwards. And she's not the first born not even the second.

They knew their daughter just done with service, and I'm currently looking for job for her, but non forthcoming for now.

I'm trying to know why they keep telling her their daily challenges, my wife keep responding " you people know I don't have job yet"

When my wife was there she was the one coordinating the mother's business though.

Please are they pressuring her because of me? Knowing fully well their daughter is jobless for now?

I really do not blame people marrying from rich home.
This is what I faced about 10years ago. I was giving my MIL monthly stipend, training the last born in uni. The other siblings were coming up with every reason to get money even at some point that I wasn't working.
It took me 5years to discover that all the moodiness from my wife was because she expected me to do everything for her family, not because of the pressure they gave her.

Find a way, not by asking, to know whose side your wife is. If she is on your side, then you can set healthy boundaries. If she is with her folks, then you need to re-strategize or bid the marriage bye.

I like the way some of you guys quickly support people on the internet based on a one-sided story.
A man came home late. Went to the kitchen to eat. Next thing he started beating his wife. Is the man mad? Have you imagined that the interactions would have been more than reported?
While physical violence is a No No for me, but many women have accused men wrongly, and are supported by courts of public opinion.

Five years ago, a wife in my neighborhood dragged the husband by his waist for more than 1 hour. The man even called his mother-in-law to report. But when asked she claimed she was asking the man for sex. Fortunately the man had an audio record of the incident. Fast forward to last year when the marriage went south, the women said if she knew, she would cried that night and raised alarm that the man was the one beating her up.

I have personally witnessed some these lies and manipulations.

One thing we should all abide with is the Golden Rule. Do unto others what you wish be done unto you .

But from experience, most girls from divorce home tend to be too secretive about the divorce, and even about their private life.

Discovery of this secrets, and sometimes lies give rise to trust issues, then if not well managed, divorce. The circle continues.

FamilyRe: Loyalty In Modern Day Marriage by Curiouscity(op): 4:07pm On Apr 27, 2023
Kobojunkie:
1. What exactly do you mean by loyalty in marriage? Do you mean the traditional idea of the woman always doing the bidding of the man because he is head of household and believes it always has to be his way? Or do you mean two partners together reaching an agreement as far as that which benefits them both in the relationship and sticking to the terms of the agreement reached in this case? undecided

2. There you have your problem. In the case, that a different approach has been suggested, the couple must then come back to the table again in order to renegotiate and reach a new agreement in that case. undecided

3. The husband and wife aren't operating as an effective team in that case. To bring them both back to the same page may I suggest professional marriage counseling because they obviously don't operate as a team should. undecided

4. A marriage is meant as an agreement between a man and a woman. When they don't both agree, they can't both work effectively for the health of the relationship. Again, I suggest professional marriage counseling. undecided
You seem to suggest marriage counseling for almost every marital challenges. These services though good, they don't work as silver bullets. If the partners are not willing to work things out, counseling is useless. In my opinion, a counselor serves as a guide to people willingly seeking solutions. If one person believes nothing is wrong, then there is nothing a counselor can do.
Secondly, how many professionally trained counselors do we have in Nigeria. The few we have are tainted with religious biases.
FamilyLoyalty In Modern Day Marriage by Curiouscity(op): 6:00pm On Apr 25, 2023
Please, I need everyone in the family section to give their view on this. There seems to be a trend in modern day marriages, where everything is about "what makes me happy ". I have a few questions
1. What is loyalty in a committed relationship like marriage?
2. Is loyalty expected in modern day marriage?
3. Can there be love without loyalty?

There is a couple going through a rough patch in their marriage. The major issue is that one of them regards outsiders' opinion more the partner's. They can discuss and sometimes agree to do something a certain way, but one person will do it the opposite way. When investigated, it will be discovered that the brothers/parent of the defaulting partner countered the couple's decisions. Yet the other partner wasn't informed.

More explicitly, the guy may tell his wife, let's do so and so. The wife will oppose it. But if another person, sometimes the husband's friend, make same suggestion, the wife will jump on that same idea, and pester the guy to do it. The couple can have a discussion that is supposed to be private, sometimes just mere couples gossip, but one way or the other, that discussion will get to the wife's family. Yet the wife keep "singing" how she loves her husband.

The examples above can be reverse, where the guy is the disloyal spouse.

4. How do you handle disloyalty between couples?

We started dating when she got admission in 2018. She was a novice and a church girl then .
There was nothing like intimacy till 2021 and that was when I deflowered her ,
Since I promised my self that I must marry who ever I deflowered , I started taking care of some parts of her needs hoping that I will get financially stable and settle down with her .
She was the type of girl that everyone assumed to be an angel . I trusted her more than anything on earth .
She is too jealous that she suspects that I’m cheating even when I was not . She misinterprets everything an opposite sex sends to me
Fast forward to 2022 . She visited one day and got upset that another girl referred to me as “babe” on chat instead of saying “hi” . I insisted that she brings her own phone so I check if a guy has never called her babe
On getting to her chat , I noticed this guy that she saved as “my favorite” . They had no chats (she deletes everything) . I decided to dig deeper only to find out that this guy has been going to her house (family house ) to sleep with her . It’s not once , it’s not twice . And it was frequent the period she even said I should give her space that they were doing family prayers
The worst is that I told the mum and elder siblings out of anger. They did absolutely nothing . The mum only denied knowing that the guy comes around when everyone is out
A month later, I saw a chat of the mum asking her why she doesn’t pick the guy’s call again . I almost ran mad
She has promised and vouched that she won’t try such again and doesn’t know what came over her her .
I have tried everything possible to forgive her since no one treats me the way she does , but I keep loosing weight and falling sick by day .
I’m currently depressed and don’t know what to do again
As painful as it may feel, please do your best and move on. A broken relationship is better than a broken marriage.
Which would you prefer? Discovering it now or after you are married to her?
For most people (men and women) fidelity is just a word, it doesn’t exist. It is even more painful when mothers know and support this cheating habits.
