Jobs/Vacancies › Re: No Jobs Or No Employable Graduates? by CuteEmma(f): 8:36pm On Feb 24, 2016 |
adipemcanis1: My opinion.
1.Most people go to university to graduate with degrees that would qualify them for office jobs....where they would shuffle papers without thinking for the rest of their working lives.Meanwhile...most companies want people who are ideas persons, problem solvers, etc. Not clerks.Of course...when some gent or lady turns up looking for job....and cannot show that he or she is an ideas man or woman.....
2.Our universities do not teach you how to be a problem solver. For instance...back in the 1980's...a car factory in the USA that was about to be closed because of high running costs....reached out to the local unviersity's department of economics to help them solve their cost problems. Students and lecturers joined hands to develop a plan to sort out the problem. Now...which Nigerian economics department can come and do the same for a Nigerian factory.(None of them).
3.Still on thinking. Our lecturers used to tell us that in order to pass their exams...you have to give them what they taught you in class. That is nice...but the problem is...when a student is doing the exams....he is not using his thinking mind to answer the question....just regurgitating the lecturer'snotes.Sigh....thinking gone.
4.Assignments. Most students when asked to do an assignment....just go and copy from textbooks and websites. No synthesizing of ideas from sources.
In brief....the problem is....our educations system does not teach students to think....they teach students to just regurgitate what the lecturer told them.May help in getting a first class from uni....but in the real world...where you have to formulate solutions....
5.Most Nigerian students think that learning is only in class. No. Learning is a continuum. Firsted and Seconded.. |
Politics › Re: Buhari To Travel To China For $2Billion Loan - Daily Trust by CuteEmma(f): 8:21pm On Feb 24, 2016 |
He's always travelling... Buhari is always junketing outside Nigeria, for little or no reason.. |
Politics › Re: Buhari At Opening Of Business For Africa, Egypt (photos) by CuteEmma(f): 9:54am On Feb 21, 2016 |
mars123: to answer you politely, I think you have to know that Buhari spends far less on a ''junket'' than his predecessors.
you also have to know that Nigeria used to be so big in foreign policy, we fought wars for America where their soldiers weren't able to go because of continental boundaries. today Nigeria has become so little, we beg for a permanent seat in the UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL, that we probably could've gotten had we maintained our strong foreign policy.
Unfortunate events have damaged our international reputation.
no matter how bad you look at it, you also have to know that this ''junketing'' helps in improving our foreign policy and selling our country again to the international community and let them know that Nigeria is matured again to be a global leader...this too will take time. Okay.. Lemme watch.. I'm Sorry for insulting you sha.. Just that your initial post wasn't this polite.. Btw, how long did you spend going thru' my profile? |

mars123: if you have ever put dedication in anything you've done in your life, then you would know what i'm talking about. All these are irrelevant stories.. Buhari Has Spent More Than 50 Days Junketing Outside Nigeria.. ..Irrelevantly. Buhari is not ready to rule, he's just wasting our funds all in the name of 'travelling' He should've been given free Int'l flights till 2019.. And honestly, I don't know what you're 'talking' 'bout.. Please do me a favour to summarize.. And don't forget to add the moral lessons.. #Ode |

Oahray: Switched three consecutive babies at birth by mistake in a space of three years?

You could have come up with a better scenario if you wanted. Say an only child was switched, or something. This one is too unrealistic to give any serious thought to. I'd rather think of how to hatch a dragon egg when I find one. Then go on and think about that... Shoooo!!! It's not as if I want this topic to hit front page so it's not by force to comment. |
