This is is how the Night King should have been defeated

The night king approaches Bran about to kill him,Arya jumps in for a stab, before she could catch the dagger,in mid air the NK slaps it away,swings his sword but she manages to slip through,trys to reach the dagger but he's in the way,
And here we see something we've never seen before,she goes hand to hand with the NK confident,but was beating to a pulp,broken bones,torn flesh ,still trying to get to the dagger,dragging herself on her stomach,now the NK has a clear shot to end this futile resistance.

Here Jon intervenes,knowing how good a fighter he is,exchanges clash with the Nk,over powers him and goes straight for the kill,unexpectly the Nk uses his left arm to block the stab which we see begins to turn ice,in anticipation all waiting for him to explode.

But suddenly his eyes glowed brighter than before,Jon in fear quickly picks up a wooden shield which was punched through rendering his sword arm broken and useless.
Arya and Jon at their limit,Jon gave Arya a stare,which spells out he now knows what he has to sacrifice,charges towards the night king only to be stabbed,about to hit the floor,but bravely held the night king hands along with his sword and shouted "NOW!!!"

Arya pulling her self up with the dagger in her hand reaching for the Nk.At this point the NK realizes he's going to die,quickly summons Viseron,knowing he's immune to fire intends burning everyone along with his walkers.
Viseron breathing out fire but pushed out of the way by Daenerys on Drogon,and finally Arya stabs him,but just before he explodes he whispers "This Name shall be on your list", and we can see the shock in Arya's face.
At the round table meeting after the battle,Jon in curiosity asked Arya "what name?who?"

... she replied " Bran "

The episode was good, just too dark that was the only problem

I also feel the only problem of that particular episode is that it was too dark (I had to watch it again at night)...not even a 1080p HD helped in lightening it up....but truth be told realistically the NK couldn't have been defeated in open battle no matter the strategies used.


My wishes though was that Cersie and Kingslanding tasted a little bit of the Wights and walkers.

NK definitely is not super strong ... definitely not in the front of a Valerian steel.....

Watch the fight between Lady Mormont and the Giant ... The Giant first carried her up.... look at her very well.... before killing her.....

NK waited for a long time for Theon to finish all his paparazzi before Theon charged.....

NK killed Theon gently.... even had time to look at him face to face... knelt down before him and slump on the ground....

B/4 he went to Bran.....

Did you see how he waited gently and looked at Bran for a long time......

Same thing goes for Arya case....

This is the way you kill your enemies..... when you know your opponent cant defeat you... U enjoy the moments of killin and let them know there is nothing they can do .....

I think realistically there's no other ways the night king could have been killed if not for the arya stealth move... I guess that's why bran wanted to lure him to the open.


The NK underrated the living, he knew he has the power to raise the dead and in that battle alone there are already 100,000 fresh dead dothrakhis to be raised, there was no realistic way the living could have won that battle, especially when he has just smiled away a dragon fire.

He choose not to engage in a one on one fight with Jon because it was risky at best.

IMO, arya wore the face of a wight to get closer to the NK....that was why Melissandre reminded her of "blue eyes" , she took a leap passed the white walker and straight to the NK....or like many people have said she was just lurking around a tree close by...but either way the NK wanted the pleasure of killing Bran (TER) himself. He felt the battle has been won and dusted hence no need to rush.

I know what to expect from shows like flash and all that but a show with complex speeches and beautiful writings like GOT from the very beginning, it's hard not to fell a bit distraught. It was disappointing to see such that's why I tagged it lazy writing and explained that both writers cannot and will never be quarter of GRRM. That's the best of their abilities. How did Arya know that the Night king would die from being stabbed right there? If she had stabbed him from the back, it would have at least be believable but honestly, that scene showed nothing but lazy writing that people have already posted on here. Just shows what some of us have known for a while that the standard of the show has fallen since season 4, season 7 being the worst of the lot and this season is closely following.

.... I don't blame the writers though, they can't tie the laces of GRRM, who has been unable to finish the book. Since it became those two, the writings has been sub standard but that's not what makes me mad, it's rather the people who defend such terrible writing even with insults. Completely ridiculous.

Lazy writing or not, so sorry GoT has been the best series for this long because it doesn't go the way of most critics or theorist.

People complaining that the NK died too easily forgot the fact that S8E3 of GOT span around 82mins of pure action and suspense. 82 mins that could have been cut to 2episodes and you guys will still whinge. It's good to criticize but put in mind that no one is perfect and this guys have done a great job in giving it perfection.

No series, show or movie has interpreted a book this well, people now have a picture to most characters in the book and when reading they think of the show character with the way they talk and act. Forget all your theories and enjoy the show and stop whinging,

The music began playing when she started her fight with the wights, shows how this season revolves around her, see where she even had to order the lady of winterfell to the crypt, "Lady" Sansa obeyed without so much of a resistance, she should have died..what use is she anyways!?

Watching the three dragons brawl was an interesting scene too, you can't have three dragons without riders, a boring sight that is.

The night walker not being burnt by dragon fire deserved an applaud (would have been the case if watched in the cinemas)

And how the stubborn wights fell head on into the fire to create a walkway was laughable, they just started falling in till they created a passage.

Sansa being sent to the crypts like a 2 year old, on her account of her incompetence, just highlights exactly how useless she is.

The lady of winterfell, owner of the house, the onile, bundled underground, whilst the little gobshite Lyanna stayed up, and even murked a giant ffs.

Sansa na mumu na .... When Dany and others were busy battling it out with the dead, she was still playing yeye politics on Tyrion (giving him conditions). I like the way Missandei put her in her place.

I think it was Drogo (Danny's dragon) that threw the night king off... The NK already had his ice spear to finish off Rhagon and Jon before Danny appeared. Danny love to Jon snow No be here o (she has saved Jon Snow more than twice now)

The Red woman had to ask Jorah's permission before she light up their swords and the dothrakis also allow her to do so because their commander approved of it.

watching the 3rd episode the second time

IMO I feel the dothrakhis lacks discipline in battle and it affected all the plans and strategies put in place....just mere torching their sword with fire gave dem ecstasy and they couldn't resist than to charge.

Jon also went hay wire when he thought he could use the dragon to light up the white walkers but the NK countered that move by using dark cloud magic to protect them (hence giving Jon and Dany zero visibilities).


Overall it was great to watch again..

I love the swag of the NK mehn!! That guy got some bad assss bounce, guy be feeling on top of the world.

I think many felt the NK's death was too quick and would have love to see it happened in episode 4/5 but hey!! GOT is no respecter of anybody even Ned lost his head in season 1 when I was rooting for him to rule the Seven kingdom.
I need that theme song when the NK was moving towards Bran. I will miss the red priestess (my crush) and her lovely entry theme...

GOT is more than battle, plots, schemes, politics, religion, fiction and magic....even some of the theme gives me goosebumps.

We still have 3 more episodes to witness one of the greatest if not the greatest show ever, and I'm proud to have started right from 2013. No critics can stop me joy

Nobody talked about this scene until what Melisandre saw came to pass.

Focus on the simple stuffs and maybe you'd enjoy the show.

The writers did a very EXCELLENT job, they gave us the spoiler years ahead and we couldn't see it. And those that didn't see it as well are saying that writers are sack.

If it was revealed then where will the suspense come from? GOT is the biggest show on earth...sometimes you just have to think outside the box or watch more episodes of past season to understand that everything is linked up...

For example: Bran gave Arya the dagger that was used to kill the NK at the same spot the NK was killed

The move which arya used in killing the NK is the same move arya used in beating Brienne in a make show training.

The wall had magic to stop the white walkers and Night king from crossing, but I feel the power of the Night king over the wall was becoming stronger (maybe due to the day old babies that was been sacrificed) which is what was turning dead men to wights even south of the wall, something that wasn't happening before.


The pulling down of the wall was just to allow easy flow of the dead troops... The magic that didn't allow the white walkers in was destroyed the moment Bran allowed The Night King touched him (thereby leaving his mark on him). For the first time they were also able to enter the cave of the little children and destroy the Three Eye Raven's enclave.

A formidable warrior and master planner in his youth? Definitely.
Tywin is a legend. . .he rebuilt the Lannister name.
The only wrong he did I can't forgive was how he treated Tyrion.

I like Tywinn he definitely knows how to carry himself, very calculative as well (has his own flaws as we all do),....but he was always loyal to his family legacy. One of My favorite Tywinn scene was when he came to the throne room with a white horse to pass a message to Jeoffery (He and Tyrion were the only one not scared of Jeoffery).
