As a seaman he probably earns way below 90k but I feel the issue he's having is the issue of money ego (due to money he's making from his skits).

Very true... Plateau and Benue has what it takes, that's if government can fully invest in it. There is a Dutch company in Jos and kaduna currently producing commercialized potatoe and exporting it to there country in large scale.

It takes more time more time before the trees start yielding fruits? Is that an excuse? All commercial trees take a reasonable time to produce. Trees like palm, cocoa, Orange, rubber, kola nut, etc. These trees, take years before they start producing, yet we grow it here because they can be produce in commercial quantities in our climate. The truth remains that Apple cannot "survive well" in Jos.

I said it's capital intensive because it actually is, the only tree I saw was the red apple and it didn't come out very well to me...but I know with proper approach it could have.

Let me give you a hint...most farmers in the plateau are not used to farming commercial products like cocoa or palm unlike in the south... They grow what they can harvest in few months.

Some few years ago strawberry was not realistic to be cultivated in Nigeria but now it grows on almost every farm in the plateau.

Also, Apples takes like 8 to 10 years before yeilding fruits, if you think a local plateau farmer will wait that long to farm a fruit with very low demands then you must be dreaming.

Strawberries grow very well in the plateau and some few parts of kaduna... It's easier to grow strawberries now in commercial farming unlike it's apple counterpart. Apple farming is very complicated, one wrong move and you loose the seeds...
They both (strawberries and apple) will thrive on temperate regions like Plateau and Mambilla,.. but who will have the patience to grow apple that might not yield well?

There are many reasons why apples are not commercially planted in Jos:
it's complex to grow apple unlike other temperate fruits/veges (strawberries and black berries).

It's highly capital intensive too, hence the cost.

People that grow it in Jos are very wealthy people that just want to show off.... It also takes more time before the trees starts producing, so some of the local farmers don't have that patience to wait years before trees start germinating.
That's the reason why other temperate vegetables/ fruits like cabbage, carrot, berries and strawberries are priotized.

Demand is also a reason.

What a lot of people don't know here is that CNN has different streams they give people for which is based on your geographical location which means that the CNN I am watching on DSTV or Startimes is not exactly the same thing beign watched in Washiton DC.
