abatically: As usual here they come. Just like I expected. Jim Travers was a renowned journalist who wrote for consumer reports, people that actually carry out surveys and test every car to their limits. People at consumer reports have driven more cars than u can ever dream of in ur lifetime. So who's word against who? Someone that drives a particular brand and sits behind a keyboard to write jargons, vs who? No need to say more. Am not saying i am right.Am just saying he's not right. - Jim Travers is a freelance automotive journalist, photographer, and researcher doesn't mean he is immune to mistakes..Ill give you links when I am on a computer to butress my points on the German and American v8 and v8 autos having confirmed higher lineages. I actually use and prefer my Honda tho,and I'm also a jap fan.. |

But the anti- Japanese will always disagree, yes of course they know more than people that actually spent time to do research testing hundreds of Cars. And who who is this Jimmy Travers who wrote the article..what's his pedigree..park well sir.. |

.majority of Nigerians are foolish gan..the police are doing their job in this issue..yeah for road traffic accidents (RTA) and domestic injuries you can take victims to the hospital without clearance..but in cases of injuries during criminal activities eg gunshot, axe injuries.. You must make a report to a nearby police station before or during treatment..Even all doctors need the clearance to test such ppl.. that man is foolish to help without asking anybody along the way for police phone number to inform them. |

Health › Re: Help! His Genotype Is AA And His Wife's Genotype Is AS But Their Daughter is SS by d33types: 12:37pm On May 12, 2015 |
mikkyword:
the possibilities are two:
1. It is either the child is not his. That is to say infidelity from the wife. Or
2. That he made a mistake with his genotype. in most centres in Nigeria hemoglobin electrophoresis is used for genetic testing and this will mask thalassemia ... that SS child will be tested molecularly and found out to be aa or as with alpha thalassemia ..but will be misread as SS in haemoglobin electrophoresis as a result of the thalassemic gene..solution is to stop advocating the use of electrophoresis for genetics |
Health › Re: Help! His Genotype Is AA And His Wife's Genotype Is AS But Their Daughter is SS by d33types: 12:21pm On May 12, 2015 |
people are too stupid especially on nairaland.
It's very very possible especially in Nigeria where we do hemoglobin electrophoresis for determining genotype. in this case a thalassemia AA gene from the male may present as AS this making the born child SS. only molecular genetic testing rarely done in Nigeria and which is expensive can give you true values..
I pity those who think it's all about aa+AS= aa+as+aa+as.. secondary school biology isn't really 100% true..
btw,all doctors know this..only people are too impatient to hear them or they prefer to stick to the secondary school genetics teaching |

adeoladrg: Far away in the continent of Asia, precisely 4,735 miles from Nigeria, in the city of Chennai, India, a young Nigerian, a pharmacist by training, ADEBOLA SAMUEL AKINBOBOLA is fighting for his dear life in the hospital bed at Annai Arul Hospital, Chennai, India. When I saw my dear friend in the Intensive Care Unit with his mouth completely covered, I was filled with emotions. Knowing fully well, that it can be me or anyone in this world. Adebola was my classmate and a colleague. However, more than that, Samuel is someone’s son, sibling, brother, uncle, cousin, fiancé, nephew, joy, and hope. He’s a Pharmacist who studied at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria. He went to India last month to undergo surgical procedures to remove the tumor in his jaw. On getting to India, it was discovered that the growth had developed into a full blown malignant neoplasm (a tumour that tends to grow and invade other parts of the body). He developed the growth in his jaw in his 100 level days (2006). He underwent the first stage of the surgery last week. The surgery was successful but suddenly the site started to develop several complications. That procedure cost about 5 million according to his parents. Now, the tumor is threatening his life. He needs about 13 million to begin the next phase of the surgery. The doctors at India have been trying their best, however, they’ve also threatened to stop palliative treatment if they don’t get the money. Why we sincerely appreciate everyone who had supported this clarion call to save ADEBOLA AKINBOBOLA’s life, we found out that our contribution so far was just a drop in the ocean. Time is of essence, and delay is quite dangerous, we need to act fast. We need to reach philanthropists, Non-Government Organizations, Non-Profit Organizations, Foundations, States and Federal Government to help us save Akinbobola’s life. We need to keep spreading this news until it reaches the decision makers and people with good hearts that can afford to take care of the entire bills or the majority of the bills............
