Op you didn't give any details in your story, you haven't said the reason you can't marry her so we can judge. What happened? And I am assuming this must have happened recently because she was good enough to date for over 9 years so what's the problem now? (Or is it an ongoing issue?)

There is no reason for the girl to marry someone who doesn't want to marry her neither is there any reason for you to marry someone you don't really want to be with anymore. It's a disaster to marry someone you don't want to or who doesn't want to marry you. So if you feel so strongly about this then walk away. In the long run both of you will be better for it

However If she hasn't done anything wrong and there is no issue at all but you just want to leave for selfish reasons then tell her that you are selfish and in all honesty She would be better off without you.
