It was a special CNN programme on Africa, and they decided to talk about nollywood. It was okay, at least it was a fair report. Jeff Koinange mentioned the low quality of the costuming, set-design and camera, the report also focused on the growing popularity of nollywood in africa and the world. Ini Edo was interviewed at the African music awards where hollywood stars like Vivica A. Fox and Louis Garsett where present. |

Since you registered with the site too, what do you expect your spouse to do if she finds out? Both of you are guilty of the same thing. |
When a Nigerian outside the shores of this country does not in anyway contribute anything to Nigeria, then it's of no use being proud of such a person. Neither is the person patriotic just because he's a star in the U.S or U.K. I for one don't care about Sade, Seal or Nigerians like them who have not done anything for their people. Angelina Jolie,a white woman has done more for africa than so called africans, she contributes one-third of her income to charitable causes in africa and other parts of the developing world. Kanu is doing something great by touching the lives of kids with heart defects in Nigeria. If you've made a success of yourself outside the shores of this country you should not act like the so-called rich class in naija who hoard their wealth for themselves and their families alone, try and emulate the philantropic culture of the west. Only recently warren buffet donated 37billion dollars out of his total wealth of 44 billion dollars to Bill Gates charity. How many rich Nigerians have donated even 1% of their wealth to anything other than chieftaincy titles and vain glory. |
Those books can be found in Lagos, I don't know of other cities. I saw the 2006 Barron GRE book at road side book sellers in Ikeja last week, I'm sure the others can be found too in bookshops. |
Naijaflyer you've said it all, infact i could quote you. You got the one about Ibori 100% right, when you leave benin to warri you sometimes wonder if there's some magic going on there, you can hardly see an untarred road these days in warri, benin city is the complete opposite |
zebudaya:. There are great opportunities in naija for those with a masters degree in petroleum engineering especially from institutions abroad, most of the oil companies in Nigeria value them a lot, you can expect to live like an expatriate here in Nigeria. The thing is Texas has links with the oil industry, most of the schools there offering petroleum engineering are highly rated by industry professionals so getting a degree from texas would do a lot of good. |
Great advice Flint. I just took the GRE and i found out that what you've been averaging in your practice tests before the exam is more or less what you'll get especially in the verbal portion. I took the five practice tests in a GRE book i used and i scored 650, 660, 630, 650, 630 in the verbal. I also took the Peterson's online gre practice test i scored 650 in the verbal portion. In the actual test i scored 620 in the verbal. I don't believe preparing for 3 months or any number of months to retake the test would increase scores dramatically in the verbal portion. @sopescott, i'm applying to those schools too for the same course . . . . how far have you gone? |
When i first saw the travel advisory, i thought it was a joke, by the time i read and saw the government were actually serious i couldn't stop laughing. When the U.k and Europe generally are trying to reduce the number of immigrants to their country especially from Africa. I'm sure Tony Blair will give Obj a pat on the back. |
I was reading the biography of Nwafor Orizu ( He was a popular politician in the eastern region pre - independence period), he was talking about how he first got to the u.s to study in the 30's and didn't know anybody until he remembered that people in his village used to talk about one man from his village that left for the u.s long time ago, he did some searching and traced him to an apartment in NewYork. His Igbo compatriot told him he left his village for the U.S in 1911. Nor be today Naija's start to travel, them dey everywhere |
A professor is giving the first year medical students their first lecture on autopsies, and decides to give them a few basics before starting. "You must be capable of two things to do an autopsy. The first thing is that you must have no sense of fear." At this point, the lecturer sticks his finger into the dead man's anus, pulls it out, and then licks it. He asks all the students to do the same thing with the corpses in front of them. After a couple of minutes' silence, they follow through with his disgusting command. "The second thing is that you must have an acute sense of observation: How many of you noticed that I stuck my middle finger into the corpse's anus, but I licked my index finger . . . . . . ![]() |
You're right consultant, this is clearly fraud. Look at the procedure from the site for participating in the scholarship programme, it is ridiculous, the website is even more ridiculous. The worst governor should surely go to Lucky Igbinedion of Edo state. The few tarred roads in the state capital are full of endless potholes not to talk of the unmotorable earth roads all over. You take a drive round the town and you wonder where the federal allocation for the state goes, there's almost nothing in terms of infrastructure, development or anything for that matter. Throughout my five years in uniben the only thing that can be construed as development in benin city is the state library complex constructed along sapele road. |
If Adam and Eve were Chinese, we would still be in paradise because they would have ignored the apple and eaten the snake! A man is dying of Cancer. His son asked him, "Dad, why do you keep telling people you're dying of AIDS?" Answer: "So when I'm dead no one will dare touch your mom!" |

The centre is still at touche ltd, V.I. It just happens that some names of candidates to test for that day are not sent to the computer at the test centre and if that happens to be you, you have to reschedule for another day. @rare That's the correct number, but when you call you'll first hear the recorded voice, just wait for the voice to finish 'yarning' , someone would pick it up. |
Sorry bro, samething happened with my GRE at touche Lagos, when i got there on test day, they told me that my name was not on the list of those to test and it was an error from ets, It took them almost 4 days to get me a number that i needed to contact prometric netherlands inorder to reshedule. I've resheduled but not without parting with almost 800 naira for a phone call. |
The argument the first poster is trying to put forward is not that first class or 2.1's do not merit their grades, she is trying to make a case for the 2.2's in the job market in relation to other skills and talents which are not tested in the academic field. Perfomance on a job is not all about grades. Davidylan you were saying something about the number of people applying for a job and the need to 'weed' out the unwanted from the pool of aplicants, but that is not an excuse considering the fact that they conduct employment tests which is an avenue to 'weed' out. Shell has a minimum requirement of 2.2 when they are conducting their tests, it used to be 2.1 before but they had to include the 2.2's when they realised that some of those employed with 1st class and 2.1 didn't translate their grades into the job, they performed below expectation while many 2.2's performed better on the job. I would agree if you said the smaller companies can't bare the cost of conducting tests for a large number of applicants but what about the several large multinational companies, banks e.t.c. Why does American conduct the GRE test? even those with first class from american universities still have to write it, and is not like the GRE tests anything you do in college. Firstclass or 2.1 doesn't automatically translate to smartness |
That's some talent you've got, you should consider going into website design business |
Jos is a nice city, it's a cool and serene environment and quite neat and orderly too, and it's got a lot of tourist areas. But it can be really boring, nothing seems to happen, it's a place where the old folks should retire to, having stayed in jos for some time Lagos seems stuffy in comparison, it's like there are people everwhere, buildings, buses, all sorts of things, except the highbrow areas. When you take a stroll in Jos the view is picturesque, you'll likely see mountains, trees, rocks, sparse traffic, few people, taking a stroll in lagos is like punishment. Abuja is a neat and well planned city, but unlike jos the weather is quite hot |
This is really getting out of hand, the government is taking things for granted this is how rebels started, the government should stop negotiating with the militants because they would always come back for more, what are the security forces for - opressing innocent civilians? they can't even get a single militant yet they brag about their exploits in peace keeping missions. |
Wow! Great Job Zahy, I saw the site before the redesign and i must say i'm surprised that you did it, i thought she hired a professional. @ Consultant this makes your site more trustworthy, with the rate of 419 in naija i had to go with my gut instincts to trust you with my money for registering the GRE and TOEFL for me, I guess it would be a lot easier now for other folks. |
I smell a rat here, you go to a guys room in the night get drunk and you're crying rape, . She's trying to get some dough. She should be sued for character assasination |
Johnny wanted to screw a girl in his office, but she had a boyfriend, One day Johnny got so frustrated that he went up to her and said: I'll give you a 1000 dollars if you let me screw you, but the girl said, NO. Johnny said:? I'll be fast, I'll throw the money on the floor, you bend down, I'll be finished by the time you pick it up. She thought for a moment and said that she would have to consult her boyfriend, So she called her boyfriend and told him the story. Her boyfriend says:? Ask him for 2000 dollars, pick up the money very fast, he won't even be able to get his pants down. So she agrees and accepts the proposal. Half an hour goes by and the boyfriend is waiting for his girlfriend to call. Finally after 45 mins the boyfriend calls and asks what happened, She said:, THE BASTARD USED COINS!!!" |
Happy birthday girl!!! |

Does anyone know the procedure for getting a UBA Mastercard? |
wow! thanks a lot for the info nateone, actually i've been thinking of making payments through them, but after browsing the site for about a month and checking out stuff on their faq, i was a bit reluctant because most things there were old, like the banks they listed for you to deposit money are either failed banks or banks that have been acquired by the bigger banks Sorry for you loss, I know you must be feeling real bad. |
