There are lots of people living in despicable conditions in Nigeria agreed, but what exactly is your point in pasting such pictures all over the forum, to make yourself feel good? if you feel so bad about it then go and do something positive about it, form an ngo or something, one person can make a difference.
Have you not heard the very wise saying that when you point one finger at somebody four fingers are pointing at you? |

Angelheart: I think you ONLY have yourselves to blame!
I don't have to go very far. In Nairaland! For bigfoot's sake, Nigerians ar ebusy painting Nigeria black! There is a thread in which most Nigerians are busy selling Nigerians to be fraudulent. Why do that Are you trying to tell me that Nigeria is the ONLY country which is saturated with fraudsters. No! We (South Africans) also have fraudster big time. But, you wont hear us going around publicising it. The crime im my country is unthinkable however, we still manage to sell our country. Juvinile delinquency is rife in London but not ONCE, did I hear an Englishman singing it out loud!
Follow this link posted by a Nigerian: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-67773.0.html Why in the Almighty's name would one do that The topic subject is so inviting yet its contents are repelling. You don't think that would envite me to visit Nigeria if I was planning to do you?
I say, charity begins at home and you ALL need to be good Nigerian Embassadors. Angleheart you just reminded me of one comment by a camerounian friend, he said Nigerians criticise so much he wonders why anyone should aspire to be president. Why we have to be so negative, I don't know. May God help us |

Reverend: The best way would be to introduce the death penalty for 419-ers and also for the owners of the Internet Cafes who allow it on their premises.
Public execution outside the Internet cafes would be the best and then their bodies should be nailed onto crosses as a reminder to the other 419 scum.
The internet cafe where he commited the crimes should then be blown up with the owner inside. You sure have a vivid imagination! Why not just blow-up the whole darn country, right? |

a. opportunities to accumulate estacodes and b. avenues to perpetuate the annoying quota system, I was mad when i read in the papers that 7 members of the NFA board accompanied the team to Canada, these guys just see the NFA as a means of gallivanting all over the globe, they have no mission nor vision in that so called NFA. |

The city is really neat, the western media is really horrible, how come of all the programmes they show they never show us these. If it's not AIDS infested villages, it's some backwater slum. It's really great to know that wonderful sights like these exist and not only in South Africa. |

The guy that started this thread is an American, isn't he? He is obviously echoing the general mindset of his society. I'm not saying they are forcing anyone to do anything but indirectly with the ubiquitious nature of the American media their culture is taking a foothold in many countries around the world and they expect people in 'civilised' societies to behave like them.
Why would somebody visiting another country continents away be surprised at something as simple as two guys holding hands? |

This is one of the signs of American cultural imperialism. Since it is considered to be gay holding hands in America then it should be considered same in everyother place and we all have to be taught proper behaviour. |

Business › Re: Dangote: I'm Worth Much More Than Oprah Winfrey! by dafman(m): 5:11pm On Jul 09, 2007 |
denex: he said he does not believe he is the richest man in Africa. But definitely, if Oprah Winfrey is worth $1.5 billion then he is richer than her.
Even Carlos Slim of Mexico had wondered why despite the fact that most times his wealth was far more than Bill Gates, he was never ranked among the richest men. But only recently when his total worth was calculated, he was found to be richer than Microsoft's Bill Gates and Virgin's Richard Branson put together!
So let the truth be told. Dangote is richer than 3 Oprahs. It's not about charity donations or low income tax or country of origin. It's about compilation of Data.
Oprah Winfrey is worth $1.5 billion. If she can be rated as the richest "black" person in the world, then there must be two worlds!
Where is Deinde Fernandez? Where is Harry Akande? Where is Mike Adenuga? Where is Ethiopia's Hussein Al Amoudi? Where is Otedola?
Abeg jare, these Americans should stop lying and stop trying too hard to make Africa look like a destitute land.
By the way, Oprah is not really a billionaire. A billionaire has billions. Oprah has a billion.
If we want rankings of billionaires that have contributed money to their society or have paid workers pensions or policemen's salaries, we will go and check the list for that. But here we are looking at a ranking that says the richest "black" person. Not the richest kindest "black" person. Good point you made here. They seem to concentrate on America and Europe and parts of Asia thinking that since other regions are mostly poverty stricken there can't possibly be any billionaires |

I don't know what you're trying to prove, in America if you take a camera and turn 360 degrees snapping as you turn I'm sure 350 degrees would be pleasant views, the remaining ten degrees is what you have here, if you do the same thing in Africa you'll be pretty depressed. |

There was an SOS message to the Nigerian President in the Vanguard newspaper some days back by a Nigerian company seeking the services of some Indian technicians to install some equipments they shipped from India.
The company is complaining that the indian technicians could not get visas from the Nigerian embassy in India because the embassy staff said they don't have visa stickers, whatever that means.
I think that's the same thing happening to you. |

mohadana: The Urhobo are a people of southern Nigeria, near the northwestern Niger River delta. The Urhobos are the major ethnic group in Delta State; the Delta State is one of the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They speak Urhobo, a language in Niger-Congo group. Together with another ethnic group in the region, the Isoko, they are collectively known as the Sobo. There is also the another related ethnic group known as the Okpe. Nice piece on the Urhobo people, the Okpe's are not related to the Urhobo's they are actually Urhobo people, Okpe is one of the clans that make up Urhobo kingdom, there are 22 clans or cultural units that make up the Urhobo Kingdom, it's just that they have a dialect slightly different from general Urhobo, I know because I'm Okpe myself. You can learn more about the different Clans that make up the Urhobo kingdom from here www.waado.org |
