I think what should be taken into consideration here is whether there was an improvement compared to before the country. Some of you lots make noise forgetting that the navy do not know the routes of most creeks in the Niger Delta. That was why it was hard for them to stop the militancy actions back then making the government to negotiate considering how much Nigeria was losing daily. Sure, it seems N1.5B is big but people also seem to forget that the contract encompasses security and surveillance in over 4states, so think of the resources required. And to the re.tards who are always quick to say some of these people dont help any Niger Deltans should also know that there are over 4000 fighters under Tompolo alone, thats employment for 4,000 people, plus these contracts also require other Niger delta labour. Not even gonna talk of the companies owned by other prominent Niger Deltans. That the empowerment didn't get to you, doesn't mean they don't empower people. |

Welcome. And we hope for a continued better relationship with the AU. |
Safe trip |
Congratulations to them as they assume office today. May they carry out their duties diligently. |
Goodluck to you sir. Enjoy the private and retirement life. One stage of your life has ended. Another 1 begins. All the best sir. |
Goodluck to you sir. You have done your part. Let others do theirs. Enjoy ![]() |
I expected people to counter what he said with facts or proof, and criticize objectively. Sadly, many didn't read and result to name calling as usual. I believe many Nigerians expected him to feed them. Since they said he's to be blamed for many Nigerians living in poverty. |
jared007:Ok. Heard. Thanks for sharing. |
He looks happy. Even more happy than the frustrated re.tards who are always quick to result to insults instead of objective criticism. I'm glad the transition went smoothly. Well, some things that will never change include: 1) Ruling from a minority. 2) Forever being an ex president with benefits and all entitlements. 3) Being a hero to some and a villain to some |
Well, the challenge is now there. Go transparent and public or keep shut. If not that the present administration came out openly about the costs of running their govt or projects, Nigerians wouldn't have had much to criticize on. If it was before, as is still the case in some states, we only see commissioning, unveiling or proposal of projects without knowing the actual cost of it. |
GEJ is not saying don't probe me. Just don't probe me alone. The 'leaks' as alleged did not start in his administration. I understand Mr Lionel's reason for panic considering the power the Niger Delta holds in Nigerian revenue, but the probe decision rests with the President-elect. Its his call. God bless the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
In as much as I want a peaceful and united Nigeria, you cant help but say Nigeria is complicated. Its just somehow *dont know what word to use*. I still hope for a peaceful and united country though. Also, the blame game needs to stop. Jonathan did not make Nigeria this way. Nigeria is Nigeria. Some people make it seem like before Jonathan Nigeria was England, with quality healthcare, stable electricity, world class infrastructures, no strikes or scarcity etc. Every leader since the birth of this nation contributed in one way or another to its downfall, and yes, including the President-elect. Lets just hope for a better Nigeria. #PeacefulNigeria #UnitedNigeria |
He's talented. Big ups. |
PassingShot:Then state the facts of the other leaders that diversified from oil. |
PassingShot:Then quit the blame game. Except its on all Nigeria leaders. |
PassingShot:I was waiting for someone to post something like this. Since that the reserves were there, what diversification happened in the economy? What happened was inevitable. Could have even happened in GMB's tenure. We depended solely on 1 thing. Its simple economics. Dont put all your eggs in 1 basket. |
Hopefully, we can get other high revenue generating policies and industries to fall back on soonest. Oil has played its part in the development of Nigeria. It might still be the most important, but shouldn't be so by such a wide margin. |
It is shocking how much subsidy removal has gotten support today, while it was rejected almost completely by Nigerians when it was implemented. |
TheSuperNerd:Well, its a wish thread. My choice on Oxford and Cambridge stands notwithstanding, personal reasons. I'm greedy when it comes to knowledge. I want 'deeper' knowledge like I said earlier. Already using C, C++, Java, SQL, PHP etc. I want to know them much more better than I do. |
I know of UYC but never heard of UNYC ![]() Well, I'm not an advocate of violence unless necessary. Been in too many violent situations to know the value of peace. I support their stance. #PeacefulNigeria #UnitedNigeria |
Wrong title for the thread |
TheSuperNerd:Graduate of Business Information Technology. Would love to have deep knowledge of security systems, hacking and much more programming knowledge. |
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge and Oxford it is for me. ![]() |
Happy Birthday man. More success to you. #WhaYaSay |
Congratulations to them. May they carry out their duties diligently. F.Y.I., Kazaure is not in Katsina state. Its in Jigawa state. |
That the media havent given much attention to Akpabio's governance doesn't mean he's not doing anything worthwhile. Someone even said that instead of carrying out infrastructural developements, health, education, empowerment etc he's building white elephant projects ![]() I've visited many places in Akwa Ibom especially during my service year. He has done marvelously. People seem to forget that before Akpabio came on board, people dont even know much of Akwa Ibom, but now they do and are even comparing it to older developed states. Many also seem to forget that Obong Attah ruled this state and it wasn't comparable to the developed states in Nigeria. This should speak a lot about the Akpabio's transformation. From health centres, to tourism, to sports, to education, to citizen empowerment, to power, to training and sponsoring of Ibomites abroad, to erosion and environmental protection etc all spread around the state, so people should stop saying he only developed Uyo. Funny how people who haven't traveled seems to know everything. He has done his part. Subsequent administrations should carry on with developing Akwa Ibom. |
