Nigeria will remain and he will get gbagbo treatment.... He should have to tribunal... He will come out to concede defeat... Gej is nt an hero deal with it.
Apparently, you didn't understand the word 'otherwise' in the question.

The question was 'What would Nigeria have been if the election results were otherwise?'

Ogbeni, next time, don't rush to answer without 1st understanding the question.

Lagos is a Yoruba land that every Nigerian have the right to live in. The same way Aba is in Aligbo. The issue is, for you or any one to call Lagos, Aba or Kano a No Mans Land is just you being nuisance and spewing your mischievousness to the people who you have developed a deep seated hatred for.

And stop hoping for criminals to cause mayhem. When we start dealing with them, you will still be the one shouting they are killing them, despite being among those that incited the militants to pick up arms. Don't pick a fight that will destroy you.

"Follow peace with all men, without which no man can see the lord" - Scripture.
By this same logic, oil belongs to the Niger Deltans but Nigerians can still benefit from it. It has always been the lifeline of the country.

I think its time the relevant agencies start sanctioning some of these airlines in accordance to their code of operational conduct.

That's good of him.

Even when he's still playing fair by allowing for peaceful transition by the incoming government, their supporters still run their mouth rabid with insults for him.

To the fellow that doesn't see good in him conceding defeat and not going to the tribunals, I have only 1 question; what would Nigeria have been if the election results were otherwise?

I think most people just hate the fact that despite losing an election, he's still getting praise and acclaim by leaders around the world.

So, when the people from the oil producing communities gets affected by the spilling and environmental pollution from oil activities, some people from other regions will still be reaping the dividends without going through such?

Granted its Nigeria's oil, but these producing areas should have at least been getting that 10%.

I think its hypocrisy for some people to say this is fair and then shout to all heavens when another person says Lagos belongs to no one.

This is why I prefer people not making excuses for GMB. He's not a kid. He's in his 70s. He knew the state of Nigeria before making those promises. He has already told us Nigeria's problems during the campaign period, now, we need solutions, not more complaints of Nigeria's problems.

Please, its high time we start holding our leaders accountable to their promises. And its also high time we stop talking about '16years' ish because many foreigners on this forum will start thinking Nigeria was Dubai before 1999, with quality healthcare system, great educational standards, constant electricity etc. Enough of that please. Some retards on this forum were probably less than 5years old by 1999 sef but will come on here and spill garbage.

People calling them fools fail to realise that before militancy took off in the past few years, very minimal development took place in the Niger Delta. Now compare the Niger Delta to about 7years ago and see much more federal presence.

I may not be an advocate of violence, but these people has seen that Govt can only be strong armed before they take them serious. Coupled with the money associated with it either from Government payments or direct sales of crude on the black market.

Call them 'fools', but the entire country knew what they were losing daily when these guys were in play. That the houses of parliament, the presidency and other intermediaries decided to dialogue with these 'fools' shows you how much power the ND can wield over Nigeria.

Violence is not always the answer, but these 'fools' can still drag the country way down in this current economic crisis.

PoliticsRe: $533 Million Dollars Paid As Bribe To GEJ Cabinet Say Italian Prosecutors By ENI by DaGC(m): 8:11pm On May 12, 2015
dutchjongen:
"In the letter, the Italian prosecutors alleged that Scaroni and Descalzi oversaw the payments to parties who helped secure the sale. In a second letter they alleged that some of the ultimate recipients of alleged bribes used the money to buy aircraft and armoured cars."

So when his cabinet members where buying private jets as stated by Italian Prosecutors Goodluck Jonathan was not aware they were living of the avails of bribes they received right?
Dude, no where in the article does it state that the entire bribe was for politicians or GEJ's cabinet. There are also community leaders in play here too. And if a civilian or even a public service holder buying armoured vehicles is now seen as a president's responsibility to check on, then truly the role of the office of the Presidency has been ridiculed much.
PoliticsRe: $533 Million Dollars Paid As Bribe To GEJ Cabinet Say Italian Prosecutors By ENI by DaGC(m): 7:49pm On May 12, 2015
dutchjongen:
In all honesty you think $533 million dollars bribe will be paid to those that work for you and you will not be aware.Who ultimately approves the deal? When Attorney General Mohammed Adoke and Minister of State for Finance Ngama negiotated the deal and bribes you are telling me Goodluck Jonathan who approved it was not aware,go and tell that story to the marines.
Hopefully when Buhari takes over the Italians will contact him because they know right now the bribe takers are in power till May 29 and nothing will be done about this case.
So, where it stated that the money was used to bribe local politicians and intermediaries, now results to GEJ? undecided

I want to believe you are business savvy and have an idea of how certain things are done around the world. Thank God an italian company is paying the bribe, so they know what they want. The bribe was nothing more than 'pushing my company's name to the top of considered options and making a good case for me so that I'll get it'. Now, please sir, kindly tell me how that relates to GEJ collecting the $533m?
PoliticsRe: $533 Million Dollars Paid As Bribe To GEJ Cabinet Say Italian Prosecutors By ENI by DaGC(m): 7:33pm On May 12, 2015
Honestly, people need to get off this crazy assumption that in the next few years, Nigeria would be corruption free. Yes, it will reduce, but it wont entirely be wiped off. People will still use money to bribe electoral officers, block courses in school, give appointments/assets to their favoured candidates etc.and the President might not even know, unless of course he's a psychic.

We have heard all sorts of stories against GEJ but none actually sticks to him, just members of his cabinet, and most are allegations, nothing else. Hopefully, we'll see 1 or 2 cases after the handing over since the incoming administration has so much cited corruption and many other cases against the present administration.

Now, sit back and watch as this thread becomes full with people accusing GEJ of this scandal despite no where in the article citing his name.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu And Fashola To Mentor All Other States- Sen. elect Ben Bruce.(screenshot) by DaGC(m): 7:22pm On May 12, 2015
Not really a bad consideration. Other states need to attract more investors into their economy. They need to have reforms, policies, infrastructures etc that will get investors to gladly jump into the state and invest. The population/education helps in Lagos though, because every investor has a wide array of potential customers to patronise their goods and services, unlike for example Kano and Katsina, I doubt large percentage of people there will wanna go to the cinema, hotels, patronise advert/HR firms, malls, fashion shows/modelling etc.

But hey, what do I know? cry

I remember a few months ago when a nairaland poster said oil is now worthless and useless, and that most Niger Deltans should stop bragging about oil. But what I told her was that, granted the ND oil belongs to Nigeria, but she shouldn't for one second think that for the nearest future that crude oil would be useless and worthless.

Well, the prices are coming back up. Hopefully, she'll see this and realise how folly her statement was.

In as much as I'm not a fan of the excuses that's been coming out of the APC recently, considering how the campaigns went, I still would love to see mr Bruce's work before casting judgement.

The last paragraph of the OP is full of truth though. We heard Nigeria's problems during the campaigns, now we need solutions, not more complains of Nigeria's problems.

Frankly, I think its very unethical for him to keep acting like this. I'm still shocked that like his earlier pre-election statement, some people here still support this appaling statement. What he said was so not cool. He's supposed to be apolitical and be a father to all his kinsmen, or is he denying Agbaje and his supporters as part of his subjects? undecided

People should learn how to call a spade a spade. This is wrong.

His opinion. Everyone is entitled to theirs.

Personally, I think he benefited from the present administration. Unless this article is wrong or is a propaganda, I think he was among the militant leaders that held several meetings before elections about GEJ winning re-election.

Believe it or not, GEJ will still get a heroic welcome in his hometown when he leaves office, and still gets his allowances, pension and other bonuses associated with occupying the post of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Why do people always make such a farce about parties??

The candidates are what matters. Choose your preferred candidate not necessarily because he/she belongs to your party. I have seen PDP/APC/APGA governors working actively and delivering their states, so this party hype should stop.

I for 1 wont vote Atiku, Orji, Ibori or Igbenedion etc into any post regardless of what party they are in. So enough of all these APC ish like its the best thing to happen since garri and groundnut.

I dont think we should be making excuses for our leaders like you just did. It might make them complacent. They are not kids. We should hold them accountable to their promises. They knew what they were signing on for when they started making promises.

Nigeria's problems did not start in 1999, so all those '16years' crap should stop. It started way before 1999, but it was hinged on the present administration while previous ones were exempted from blame.

Which is why I think the General will work to try and beat the achievements of the present administration. But with us making excuses for them, like saying '4years is not enough', he might get complacent.
