Funny enough, there is no more bad blood between both of them. It's supporters here that are having a field day insulting each other. A foreigner checking Nairaland will definitely say there is no Unity in Nigeria. Nigerians hate Nigerians (No sugar coating it); From political affiliations to ethnicity. Hopefully, things get better soon, before social media do to Nigeria what radio did to Rwanda. |
Nice. Hopefully the new administration would continue it as well as the other ongoing infrastructural projects of the outgoing administration like the rail lines still under construction, the power stations, roads, water and other projects yet to be completed and commissioned. Truly, from 1960 till date, no administration has done more infrastructural projects than GEJ's. Imagine if we weren't at war, what would have been. #PeacefulNigeria #UnitedNigeria |
madamoringo:I'm sure you wouldn't like these same kind of statements to be made about GMB and the APC. Stop the hypocrisy. |
Tobilastik:Your title bar clearly shows that's not what you searched for. The search was 'President of Nigeria' and that's what google gave you. Enough with the hate and mudslinging. #Peace |
jcmaiah:This is just moronic. If giving kudos to someone for doing something is your definition of being 'sad', then bros you need to write WAEC again. |
I think the report only spoke of number of accredited voters by card readers as being 600000+. The rest could have come from manual accredition. So why are y'all on each other's throat? ![]() |
If fruitful, then I'm up for it. A better Nigeria favours us all. I didn't vote for him, but wouldn't go as far as sabotaging his administration just to discredit him. I just don't want most of his supporters here making excuses for him. They should allow him carry out his election promises, and we'll re-evaluate in 4years time, because going by the way the campaigns went, I think its fair to say that he can solve majority of Nigeria's problems in 4years. |
I like okro soup too. Tried everything on the list except that gbegiri and ewedu. If you be foreigner wey dey come naija, make you also try roasted yam/plantain with oil or sauce. E no hard to find. Dem full everywhere for Naija. Remember to also try soaked garri with anything that floats your boat from kulikuli to groundnut to fish to meat etc. ![]() |
Anything to stop this and protect the lives and properties of people is welcomed. |
Really cute couple. Fine boy meets fine girl ![]() |
Olutola88:I just spent some time with my girl at the time in Auchi (Used night bus from Kano) and hadn't done my Kano Journey from there before. So, I had to take it in stages to Jos si that I could spend a few days with my uncle and get some cheddah from him and also party a little bit with Jos friends from school. On my way to my uncle's place in Jos, got a call from my Abuja based friend about some ish in school. There was time so I decided to make the journey. So, I hiked on to the park. There was no direct cars anymore by that time. I don't know how I fell for the park conductor loading the wagon telling me that Maid to Kano is close. That from there, I can easily get Kano car. Long story short, it was a regrettable trip. Visited Maid 2 more times before the Boko Haram craze took over. |
mickeymimi:Bro, the way the campaigns went, they positioned Nigerians to expect miracles. He even went as far as saying Boko Haram will be eliminated in 2months time when he assumes office. Promised stable electricity, payment for the poor/unemployed and millions of jobs etc. They created the impression on Nigerians to expect miracles. if GEJ was lambasted for not solving Nigeria's problems in 5years, then I think 4years is a good yardstick for the General to solve a lot of them as advertised during the campaigns. What we shouldn't do is make excuses for our leaders. In 2019, we shall re-evaluate. |
It won't hurt to at least examine the confab report. He might see interesting ideas on how to make Nigeria better which is what we all clamour for. Anything for a better Nigeria works for me ![]() |
Good. We shall await the results of their findings/appeal. Glad that the President has already issued the directive. |
Olutola88:Been in Maiduguri on my way to Kano before the Boko Haram ish started. Also attended a marriage in Mubi in 2011 |
This is good from him. I like humanitarian peeps, who are not obligated to do certain things yet they do it anyway. |
I'm a big fan of 'talking to the microphone' ![]() Sometimes, I don't have sex with girls that don't give head. "Sometimes"..... ![]() Other times ehn, with or without head, na.... ![]() |
Been in 27 states of the federation. |
If the law permits it, then I don't see a problem. Its his right. Over a dozen people contested the last election. Nobody insulted them. Its their right. Whether he wins is another thing entirely. |

Hehehe ![]() They were probably impressed and felt sorry for him. If truly, he accomplished this journey, Kudos to him. |
Usher on clutches? Na too much dance cause am? ![]() |
Yea. Keep growing Nairaland. Great forum. |
If true, then friends and relatives of the victim should call the Nigerian embassy emergency line. Sad to see man's hatred for his fellow man. |
This is really sad and depressing. If the authorities supposed to curtail this are turning a blind eye, then I guess we are in for some tough days ahead in S.A. Hopefully, this sh*t stops soon. |
InvertedHammer:'Clueless' is the last word I would use to describe President Jonathan. His media team should have done way much more. FYI, from your above comment, it sounded like you are saying 'use of media' is a yardstick for measuring good governance. |
anwo247:UN is sending troops to Nigeria? This is the 1st I'm hearing of it o. Where were they all these years? ![]() Lol at some of your points. Lastly, I give credit to the opposition media team. They used the media to their advantage and were able to persuade many Nigerans into believing this govt as being the worst in the history of this nation. Propaganda sure has power. |
erico2k2:True that. Some of these governors will even avoid probing by going to the senate, or being appointed ministers or secretaries etc in government. And the ICPC and EFCC can't charge you while in office. Its after you leave. And by the time their new tenures ends, the cases against them would have died down with little or no evidence remaining. Some Nigerian politicians already know how to boycott the system. That's why some are never caught. |
InvertedHammer:He was active in carrying out his duty constitutionally through out his tenure. He just wasn't publicized much like now. If he had mastered the use of the media like Fashola or Akpabio, Nigerians might have seen more of him. These men will throw a bash with press present to commision street lights whereas many other governors don't. Apart from the BH menace, which is not entirely his fault because it took quite a long while to restock the armed forces. Even the once depleted air force can now boast of over 200 aircraft and drones. As far as corruption goes, its not his job constitutionally. That belongs to the NPF, ICPC, EFCC and the courts. He had lots of good policies and truly carried out a lot of infrastructural projects more than any Nigerian leader since 1960, but many Nigerians were not satisfied, thus the result of the just concluded election. |
I believe the reasons Deltans still think good of him was because despite the looting, his achievements have yet to be surpassed. The reforms he made, free education, healthcare facility in almost all corners of the state including the rural areas, the infrastructural developments, the security ish (Quick Response etc that stopped Delta from being the jungle it once was) etc are yet to be surpassed. I'm sure that if Kwankwaso, Lamido, Fashola or Akpabio gets indicted the future for same offence, their respective states will still remember their good works. I dont think people will ever say Fashola/Akpabio/Lamido were bad governors because of a trial. |
I have always been fascinated by the Igbo tribe. Their resilience, resourcefulness, drive, culture, togetherness(no matter where they are even in far away China, they always have 1 union where they meet regularly to address issues facing them, that Unity is admirable). Saw a British documentary about the Biafra war and the British High commissioner said the Igbos are the 'Jews' of Africa and some other tribes being jealous of them was inevitable. Till today, its still purely evident, yet they strive more and more. I admire the Igbo nation. #Respect!!! |
