Well...the Senate President traditionally has come from the ruling party.
Not ruling party per se, but from the party with the house majority which in this case is the APC.

no one says those in apc are 'sainted' ones. I do want diezani jailed for her atrocities. Her case is beyond mere allegations.
This is real hypocrisy considering what you said above. When it suits you, its allegations, while when it comes to others, its beyond mere allegations. Big hypocrite. SMH

You all should save us this balderdash and gangue you throw out all the time.
If they had a case against him , pronounced 'guilty as charged' and sent to prison to serve his jail term as prescribed by the court, he wouldn't be anywhere near politics or buhari. Buhari is dealing with a man who has not been convicted for any crime and, I don't think he should act based on allegations that are yet to be proven.
NB: Thesame sylva did not allow buhari to campaign in bayelsa in 2011. Having him around buhari now is a clear testimony of buhari's forgiving spirit.
As far as we can see, sylva is not a corrupt man, until proven otherwise.
I pray you extend this state of mind to many other APC supporters here calling for jail terms for certain ministers and public office holders even though there is not a single case against them. Just allegations, nothing more. undecided

PoliticsRe: Senate Presidency- Buhari States Position by DaGC(m): 7:44am On Apr 25, 2015
He may or may not like the candidates, but he shouldn't interfere. This is a democracy o. His elected post comes with limited powers. He should concentrate on his duties as President.
PoliticsRe: Photo: President Jonathan And Gen Buhari Had A Closed Door Meeting Today by DaGC(m): 5:23pm On Apr 24, 2015
Funny enough, there is no more bad blood between both of them. It's supporters here that are having a field day insulting each other. A foreigner checking Nairaland will definitely say there is no Unity in Nigeria. Nigerians hate Nigerians (No sugar coating it); From political affiliations to ethnicity.

Hopefully, things get better soon, before social media do to Nigeria what radio did to Rwanda.

Nice. Hopefully the new administration would continue it as well as the other ongoing infrastructural projects of the outgoing administration like the rail lines still under construction, the power stations, roads, water and other projects yet to be completed and commissioned.

Truly, from 1960 till date, no administration has done more infrastructural projects than GEJ's. Imagine if we weren't at war, what would have been.

PoliticsRe: APC shuts its doors against PDP defectors by DaGC(m): 9:29pm On Apr 22, 2015
madamoringo:
Unfortunately, the embarrassment and humiliation of GEJ is not complete. Jonathan is a du.ll, incompetent and uncharismatic person, not a leader, and this loss will expose him for the mental lilliputian that he is because there is no way he can engineer the PDP back to a position of prominence. It takes more brain power and intelligence than money and even if he had all the money in the world or Nigeria, he cannot buy brains with it. This is why the PDP is in big trouble and I hope they don't go to extinction!
I'm sure you wouldn't like these same kind of statements to be made about GMB and the APC.

Stop the hypocrisy.

If fruitful, then I'm up for it. A better Nigeria favours us all. I didn't vote for him, but wouldn't go as far as sabotaging his administration just to discredit him. I just don't want most of his supporters here making excuses for him. They should allow him carry out his election promises, and we'll re-evaluate in 4years time, because going by the way the campaigns went, I think its fair to say that he can solve majority of Nigeria's problems in 4years.

I just spent some time with my girl at the time in Auchi (Used night bus from Kano) and hadn't done my Kano Journey from there before. So, I had to take it in stages to Jos si that I could spend a few days with my uncle and get some cheddah from him and also party a little bit with Jos friends from school. On my way to my uncle's place in Jos, got a call from my Abuja based friend about some ish in school. There was time so I decided to make the journey. So, I hiked on to the park. There was no direct cars anymore by that time. I don't know how I fell for the park conductor loading the wagon telling me that Maid to Kano is close. That from there, I can easily get Kano car.
Long story short, it was a regrettable trip. Visited Maid 2 more times before the Boko Haram craze took over.
PoliticsRe: Do Not Expect A Miracle From Me - Buhari Warn Nigerians by DaGC(m): 12:45pm On Apr 21, 2015
mickeymimi:
If you are angry at Buhari who is just a president-elect, what will you do when he sworn in? Please give him a chance ,it is too early to complain.

Buhari is been sincere here is only a fool will be expecting miracle, when all sector in nigeria are almost dead . Who in his right senses would expect that within a short time Buhari's administration would undo the damages of all these years?

We are talking unemployment in double digit, decaying infrastructure, economy in the tank, epileptic and sometimes non-existent power supply, insecurity etc. We haven't even mentioned corruption in astronomic proportions!

The man is only being honest, the kind of honesty that has been lacking in Nigeria, especially in this outgoing administration, and the kind of honesty that you also obviously lack.

Buhari appealed to Nigerians not to expect instant miracles from his government to fix all the problems facing the country, but to be patient and supportive, saying he will need enough time to address the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-east and other challenges confronting the nation.

Didn't Jonathan make many promises as candidate in 2011 in order to win votes? How many of them did he fulfil? I guess that makes him a hypocrite too.

Buhari hasn't even been sworn in yet!

It's not too much to ask for na, Rome was not built in a day. You need to stop whining and broaden your mind .
Bro, the way the campaigns went, they positioned Nigerians to expect miracles. He even went as far as saying Boko Haram will be eliminated in 2months time when he assumes office. Promised stable electricity, payment for the poor/unemployed and millions of jobs etc. They created the impression on Nigerians to expect miracles. if GEJ was lambasted for not solving Nigeria's problems in 5years, then I think 4years is a good yardstick for the General to solve a lot of them as advertised during the campaigns. What we shouldn't do is make excuses for our leaders. In 2019, we shall re-evaluate.
