Yep. UT on a lan is excellent.

Not a patch on Quake3 LAN, though

however back in the day, I succesfully played UT on an intel810 equipped machine, and it ran with 3d acceleration, pretty smooth.

UT is an 8-year old game, afterall.

As a so-called Nigerian, I speak English and Yoruba. Neither of those languages is spoken in landmasses spanning over 75% of the country. Funny enough, I am better off than millions who do not speak English, instantly cutting themselves off from more than half the rest of the country, and since whatever their local tribal language is is unlikely to be recognized internationally, unless it is Hausa, they are cut off from the world as well.

And please dont give me some shit about some cultural dances being 'culture'. Because we have chosen to seperate civilisation from out native customs, we have stagnated them in the dark ages and turned them into archaic relics of a dead age.

Of course anyone who steps out of the country will get 'assimilated'. Because he has one of 2 options if he chooses NOT to be assimilated


(a) stick to the nigerianized version of western culture. Since its simply a poor imitation of what hes trying not to be assimilated by, this is equal parts futile and stupid.

(b) stick to his local tribal customs. And act like an uncivilised baboon, disgracing his people and country with every step. Marrying multiple wives and slashing the faces and genitals of his children.

In fact nowadays with the ps3 being so soundly beaten, I am tempted to switch sides.

Why? because we all knew sony would screw up, but I had no idea they would fail so utterly horribly and miserably. If the ps3 does not succeed at least a little bit, there will be no competition for xbox360. And we know how lazy microsoft gets with no competition.

If Sony dies and Nintendos current rollercoaster success implodes under the weight of a thousand casual game ripoffs, MS will be left in total dominance of gaming with no antitrust laws! NIGHTMARE SCENARIO!!!!  


In a way sony caused this by hyping the ps3 and telling so many lies. I wonder where neoteny and the other ps3 fanboys are now, when our technical arguments have finally yielded fruit- all that cell/RSX jargin was complete NONSENSE and the 360 is just as powerful if not more than, the ps3. And 200dollars cheaper.

DUDE. he's using a p3 with 384 ram and an intel chipset.

common intel chipsets for p3's were 810, 82810,815 et al.

that means barely dx6 compliant. No t&l, no shaders, no NOTHING and SHARED FRICKIN MEMORY

making matters worse, his joke of a motherboard most likely does not have AGP slots because intel's evil intent caused them to deny most integ mobo's an expansion slot. That limits him to DX6-class TNT2's running through PCI which is MURDER! I know because I HAVE DONE THAT BEFORE! its horrible trust me!

if u advise him to buy a vidcard i swear you will be on this forum for the next 6 months helping him troubleshoot his board's weird behaviour. And I will NOT help!!!!!

*podracing was nice if taken out of context, but in the context of the movie, it serves no purpose and lasted entirely too long. No suspense, no drama, no nothing. Plus the nonsense of Ani fixing a busted podracer while using it.

*Dooku is the top swordsman in the order. Ani beat him because Dooku was unprepared for the sudden increase in power ani got from channeling the dark side. Also, Dooku was not prepared for Ani's use of the sith style. He's a master at holding off Ataru masters like yoda (number 1 in Ataru) and he was in the process of destroying Ani's Ataru for the second time. Ani changed to the sith style as soon as he started channeling the dark side (the sith style is recognizable as the furious technique used by maul, sidious, Luke in ESB, evil luke in ROTJ, Evil Ani in ROTS) and obviously dooku wasnt ready for that.

Plus, Ani has more raw power than any Jedi or Sith. Obiwan beat him by defending for 20 minutes using soresu (perfect defense style) then exploiting the boy's overconfidence.

(PS Dooku made mincemeat of Obi's Soresu defense in episode 2! Does that mean Dooku really is better than Ani?)

soresu = form 3 of saber combat, based on defense and deflecting blaster bolts with a saber. Used by Obiwan and darth vader (I may be wrong about the name)
form 2- gentleman's style. classical style used by dooku, best style hand-to-hand but useless against blaster bolts
sith style-  a style that emerges naturally when you free your passion and surrender to the dark side. fast,furious and almost unstoppable but damages the users sanity permanently.

@Gdon, excellence as usual. I like the realistic figure on Yinka without the annoying super-wonderbra-helium-lift boobs and fake ultra-flat tummy fakeness in most cartoon girls. Nice!

Yobachi is however a teeny-tiny step down in quality, I guess u were just doodling away when you created that one, lololol! She doesnt dress like a tomboy, though. Somehow I feel Ani vs Obiwan in eps 3 was the best duel. It had more speed, intensity and was made even better because we weren't sure of the outcome- I mean, we all knew Obi would survive and Ani would get a lava bath but we didnt know for sure who would actually WIN.

The outcome was the best in my opinion.

Yoda vs Dooku was also amazing! In particular I respect Dooku cos it would take a total DON to withstand such an onslaught! Somehow Yoda didnt fight as hard against Sidious.

The worst battles would be obi and quigon vs maul (incompetence and crapness galore) although they performed better when going one-on-one against him, and sidious vs the jedi clown-cil before Mace stepped up to represent

Ani was a whiny brat right from episode 1

Yoda looked into his mind and rightly disqualified him for jedi-hood from the get-go

In episode 2 his arrogance and selfishness were the biggest stand-outs of his personality

If Ani seemed like an idiot in eps1 and 2 it wasnt because Hayden couldnt act. Its because ANI was trying to pretend he was something he was not (a good person)

When he finally embraced his evil self, it was like he was finally doing the things he had always wanted to do, thats why he was cool in eps3.

His moves didnt *really* work on padme. Remember she was always playing the 'My little brother!' card on him until it was like they were gonna die. Then she decided, I might as well confess cos we aint surviving this anyway!

Oga i am not apportioning blame o. This is not community court. I just want my stuff to work.

IBM obviously doesnt give a sh**t about vista, so they arent making any efforts to get their stuff to work. What this means is, my company that has invested hundreds of millions in IBM hardware and software has to avoid vista like the plague.

Anyway, we found workarounds, but it involved downgrading vista's security settings. At the end of the day we might as well be using XP. Plus its DOG SLOW on vista

Thats why I say, wait for service pack 1. By then there will be fixes in the OS for all the wahala, and by then vista will be common enough for IBM to take notice and start ceritifying their products. At least the latest fixpacks for db2 include vista support, its just that our trade finance application isnt certified for that version of DB2. Only God knows whether IBM will bother with older versions, so we have to wait for our vendor to upgrade and re-certify. Buit then we will be STUPID to deploy the new version immediately because it will obviously be full of bugs!

So as you can see, rushing to vista is not the best solution for everybody.

PS: we had more vista wahala today but once again, workarounds were found. Dont worry, Ill have some juicy vista problems to post soon

The runtime libraries for DB2 version 8.1 do not launch the TSR components, and when you force them to, the command line tools do not work, instead exiting silently with no eror messages.

Uninstallation does not work because the installer profile apparently has no permissions to delete the contents of the program files/ibm folder,

installation tools for newer versions of DB2 crash on launch,

IBM does not list vista among supported operating systems,

changing the hosts file is a pain,

Anyway we eventually found workarounds to those problems but its an ongoing wahala -fest. We have 2 vista laptops here that we are using to simulate the production environment back home and everything has to be tested on them. Vista ALWAYS throws up problems. The wahala of that thing too much.

Talking animal folklore may be a disgraceful route to take, but you can bend it to your will.

People mingling with talking animals is a valid setting that comes to mind.
