I don't understand your logic here. In one breath u refer to parents of SS children as murderers and still feel it is okay for an SS to marry an AA? I definitely was expert level on tekken 3 with her, but recently, while brushing up on tekken 5 I realised the xiao-chick was borked so horribly (always a good sign that your character was overpowered before) that I'm not sure I can use her as well anymore.However rest assured everything you listed as a disadvantage for Xiao-chan is NOT. Xiaoyu is incredibly powerful.

As for Nina, funny yiu should mention her. She was my second choice on tekken2/3, first choice on tekken4. And guess what: I NEVER use her linking grabs. Ninas strategy does NOT lie there. I swear when Nina kills you you will swear the pad was malfunctioning- her strength is to eat up your moves before you even see them. The linking grabs are just for showing off when your opponrnt is a bloody amateur.

You say she stays on the ground too much? not a problem. Unfortunately I happen to know bryan is one of the (very very few) characters that Xiao has *major* problems with, so too bad- wont be able to actually *prove* you wrong there. I usu play xiao, switch to Jin for bryan, heihachi +other mishimas, and anyone else that gives me a bit of trouble.

Xiaoyu doesnt rank in tekken5? hmmm you my be right. Xiao is crippled badly in that game. BUT when game companies try to cripple a character thats too powerful, they usually dont succeed (just look at guile). However in Dark ressurection, Xiaoyu is MUCH better so I imagine tekken5 xiao is still kinda low-tier. Such a pity. I'm so used to eating up almost everything people throw at me , so to see her have so much stuntime and so little priority in tk5 is irritating.

Girls more powerful than the guys? I disagree. everyine knows the mishimas have always been the powerhouses in Tekken. In tekken1 Kazuya had a 80-100% life juggle combo that was just 4-5 hits. The traditio has remained strong. Mishimas KILL.

play DOA4. The countering system is rebalanced and the game is BLINDINGLY FAST. At the moment its my favourite fighting game, because
it isnt so dependent on cramming moves and counters and stuntimes like tekken (when u play a tekken geek its irritating, he just keeps dialling out the same patterns over n over again with a bored look on his face). In DOA the game is so fast that even if you know whats coming, you need to react, and many times whats coming may jujst be a %age chance- not ever 100% certain whats coming out. Because of that, once a few rules are learnt, even a beginner can stand up to a pro! To consistently win, you have to become a true NINJA! its like high speed rock-paper-scissors. really easy but u cant buttonmash to victory cause of punishing stuntimes and sharpsharp counters.

I prefer it nowadays cos due to my busy schedule I cant be cramming moves from morning till night. If someone visits me, in 30mins they already know what they are doing and we can have fun. score 1 more for team ninja

If your dvdrom is locked to region 1, it should not affect CD-ROM playback.

If CDs do not play, you have a different problem altogether.

Also, even if your dvdrom is regionlocked, using a program like VLC will enable you play dvds of any region. You can also use dvd decrypter to dump them to your hard drive.

Build-essentials is indeed on the Ubuntu CD.

It is, however, a bit hard to locate it and it is rather irritatingly well hidden.

Well, Like I said, It's my opinion that it's okay for an SS to marry if its an AA. But its just my opinion- I can't judge anybody based on that because the facts are still blurry. Let me put it this way- if I was an AA in love with an SS, The only way her blood type would factor in the equation AT ALL, is if SHE decides that it must be so.And even if she does, I'll try my best to convince her that if she is meant to have happiness, nothing, not even what her parents did to her, can take it from her.

I know what its like to be in love with an SS.

As an AA, you really are the only logical partner for an SS.

My personal Opinion is that AA+SS is okay.

The only reason I can even have an opinion AT ALL is that MURDER is not involved in this case. All the kids will be AS, but you are not condemning them to death by giving birth.

Also if their mother dies when they are young, it will not be your fault. This is in contrast to AS + AS where the parents bear FULL responsibility for the deaths of their children.

Some people take a hardline stance and say SS should never marry because their children will lose a parent, and there is 100% certainty of all children being carriers. They also say this will speed the eventual demise of sickle cell anaemia.

Personally I say that there is nothing preventing an SS who lives long enough to bear children from enjoying as full a life as their parents' indiscretion would allow. Since marrying will not doom the children to a miserable existence, I do not see why an SS cannot marry and bear children, as long as the person they marry is an AA and nothing less.

If we only block AS+AS, in 2 generations there will be no more sicklers, only carriers, an in the years to come, the AS bloodtype will become a rarity.


You can go ahead, but bear in mind:

a) The kids will have to deal with the issue of AS+AS, for they will all be carriers. (but not sicklers)
b) The kids will likely lose their mother early. But this is the kind of loss that true love should be prepared to bear, in my OPINION. others opinion may vary.

when the person's budget is low, i guess cache size isnt that much of an issue. Single core pentium Ms are too expensive for people on a budget, and almost impossible to use for someone who has gotten used to dual core. You *will* notice the extra thread contention. I'm typing this from a PM 1.86GHz and I have gotten used to a core duo 2Ghz. The difference is far more than 1.86 vs 2.0ghz. You DO notice the extra 'stickiness', so in my opinion a single core pM isnt really worth it, from both budget and performance standpoints.

I just posted it cos so many people were giveing *mis* information. I'm hoping one of the 'gurus' here reads it and gets things clarified for himself so he gives better advice in the future.

As for advice to any laptop buyer, this is my general advice:

1) Ignore the word 'centrino' because it means nothing. Always check the ACTUAL specs.

2) take nothing less than core duo as main processor. If you are going for budget, go for Celeron, but consider buying an extra battery. It will still be cheaper than a core duo

3) Accept nothing less than 1GB ram, even if you are going for a celeron. NEVER accept 512megs.


4) If you are going for gaming, you must NEVER accept intel graphics. If you are not gaming and do not need 3d power, intel GMA is fine but not ideal- vista will be slower. ATI or NVIDIA graphics are more expensive but neccesary for gaming and the new glass vista interface.

5) Other accesories (hard disk, cd/dvd writer, bluetooth, wifi,screen,usb ports, internal speaker, TV out) are as per your personal preference/pocket


If you follow the above rules you should get a good laptop.

Remember, any laptop that has less than 1GB ram is a turkey.

Remember you should go for dual core. ONLY go for  single core if you are on a budget, and in that case go for a celeron and NOT a pentium M, because you may not notice the difference with todays' workloads. Pentium M will give better battery life but the expense will be too high. You are better off getting a core duo at that point.

Stay away from AMD on laptops.

Yes, you are right. Halo PC is very, very different from halo xbox if only because of the controls.

However the graphics and framerate are  much better on an appropriate PC. I prefer the xbox version,because halo was built for a gamepad.

I never heard 'a predictable failure', and thats not a boast. There were parts of halflife2 where I wanted to rip my hair out! Also I never finished hl1 because xen was too hard, Im not a halflife master by any metric. Yet I finished it first try! I guess the thing that stopped u was u were trying to analyse the situation. Halo and halflife BOTH stole the idea of headcrabs/zombies from the ALIEN movies.

Also its interesting to note that METROID, once it became an FPS, also started ripping off the ALIEN movies, so soemone must have identified the alien movies as a success formula for scifi games!

in the new metroid storyline, there is a new organism called the X (similar to the flood) and Metroids are supposedly created by the ancient aliens (chozos- now updated to be very predator-like, but also liek the forerunners of halo. In the past they were just statues! (chozo= satue in japanese) to wipe out the X's before they overrun the galaxy, kinda like the ancient predators confining the ALiens to their homeworld. Samus is now part-X (like ripley becoming an alien host) and the space pirates are just another covenant, intent on using metroids to their own ends (like the covenant and their halos)

Assasins creed- no longer ps3 exclusive
Virtua fighter 5- no longer ps3 exclusive
soulcalibur 4 - no longer ps3 exclusive

the list just goes on. The ps3 now has only a few games that arent already on 360, and the games it shares with 360 look better on Xbox.


here are the 3 games:

1) Killzone: This one should be taken with a pinch of salt. killzone 1 was supposed to be the ps2's halo-killer but was a huge flop. Killzone 2 has already been confirmed to look NOTHING like the trailer that sony fooled all u people with.

2) MGS4- the big hope for PS3. If this game fails, ps3 is dead

3) Final fantasy 13: Since all the big names in charge of FF have abandoned sony to go and work for microsoft (under the new name mistwalker), this game is shaping up to be a gigantic failure. Any real RPG fan knows that FF12 is really vagrant story 2 with a new name. They cant pull that trick twice.

Lemme explain.

Speedstep varies your clock multiplier as you use the machine. That means that if I send a block of instructions to a ss-enabled Pentium M, it can change its multiplier on the fly and gain a higher core speed, with a constant FSB.

Your celeron uses Low Voltage Operation, which is a similar concept but only in theory. In this case, the switch is more mechanical than dynamic, and must be explicitly demanded, if not by software, by some form of hardware signal. It causes a change in core speed on an electronic level, slowing down ALL processes for the purpose of conserving power.You can select the clockspeed you want, and some nice utilities can help you switch low voltage on and off during use.

However , the net gain compared to speedstep is minimal, and since in most cases where LVM would be invoked, your lappy should have gone into standby anyway, the gains are usually minimal.

Dude. There are reasons why Intel sells celerons cheap. We all know they are nice processors, but trying to claim they are the equal of their parent processors is just futile and irrational.  In the past if intel ever discovered a celeron was close to its processor in performance, for whatever reason, they would ARTIFICIALLY cripple it.

disabling half your cache is due to a hardware defect, but locking your multiplier at 24x, throttling your FSB and removing speedstep are DELIBERATE actions by intel because they know many of u wont do tasks that will make u notice that half your cache is missing.
