By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to a certain devotion. The month of October is dedicated to the holy rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions. October includes the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary(October 7). The best way to celebrate the month is, of course, to pray the rosary with fervor and meditations. Our Lady once said to Blessed Alan de la Roche in a vision:

“When people say one-hundred and fifty Angelic Salutations, this

Hi children of Mary. Today being 12th Sept 2013 the church celebrates the memorial of the holy name of Mary. Here is the meaning of the name ''Mary''

Hebrew Meaning:

The name Mary is a Hebrew baby name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Mary is : Wished-for child; rebellion; bitter.

It's shocking to know about this meanings of the Holy name of our most blessed Mother Mary. But on the brighter side, the virtues of Mary teaches us that......

1. Our philosophy of life should never be based on the negative impressions people think about us and say about us.

2. Our backgrounds should not be a reason for us to leave our backs on the ground

3. We should be more focused on what God can use us to do by seeking his will and surrendering all to his will, just as Mary our mother did,

the second reading taken from the book of st Paul to the collosians 3:12-17 tells us that

As God chosen ones, we should exhibit virtues of holiness and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness and patience, forbearance, these are the similar virtues Mary exhibited against all odds of the meaning of her name.

The Gospel of Luke 6:27-38, talks about love

thus the gospel acclamation reads,

if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us.

My own quote goes like this

love your lovers and haters and do Good to all living creatures, for God loves both saints and sinners.

This is the greatest Gospel, the Gospel of Love that conquers all things. Thanks be to God!

Lets see God as a dear loving Father and not a judge, according to saint therese of the child Jesus.

''we seek what we get, if we seek God's justice to judge us for our good works here on earth or for the sins we've commited here on earth, we will get exactly what we sought because we no longer trust him as a loving Father who shows mercy and cares for his children.

Let us not dwell on our Good works here on earth to posess heaven, or think our sins is a complete hindrance not to enter his kingdom. He is a loving Father, no one is condemned to hell, his ways ain't like what we think.

LETS US ASK GOD TO GIVE US HEAVEN FREE OF CHARGE IN HIS INFINITE MERCIES AND NOT BASED ON OUR GOOD WORKS HERE ON EARTH.

To be frank with thou superior1 this topic of thou aimed at casting aspersions on catholicism have thought me that I'm still a learner in the practice of mortification and penance, i really ought to Do more.

Thanks to your post, I've also come to know that sister Lucy and her little lilies (of blessed memory) practiced mortification and the Most blessed Virgin Mary said heaven is pleased with that.

Loskee: i apologize if i sounded sarcastic in any way, but honestly u sound like the pope. was this a latin article translated to english? sounds really formal like u r quoting some constitution. i am asking for your views, and not that of the pope.

The church's faith precedes, supports and nourishes our faith. The church is the mother of all believers. No one can have God as a Father who does not have the church as the Mother.
"I BELIEVE" (apostolic creed) is the church, our mother, responding to God by faith as she teaches we catholics to say both "i believe" and "we believe". We Don't air our personal views on Matters like this, except if the church has nothing to say on it like my brother ^^^ said. Dats what makes us unique. Your General overseer's view on this topic might not tally with your pastor's views, same applies to other worshipers views. Little wonder why you Guys don't talk about this in church as it will certainly lead to division in your church. We ask of Faith from God's church, and "faith" offers us "eternal life", The catholic church teaches with authority, without fear of favour. she doesn't speak from both sides of the mouth that makes her a sure banker of true Faith. Do u get my drift huh
