Christianity EtcRe: Is Mary Omnipresent (everywhere At Thesame Time)? by damerry(m):
asco15: u try bro. But u dn't ans d first question. Is mary omnipresent?
First of all, Are you cleared on the subject that the use of images during worship date back to the time of the apostles and that St. Luke was the first person to complete pictures of the holy Mother of God carrying the Child of God in her arms, which He showed to the Holy Virgin for approval, while she was still alive and St. Luke made pictures of the Holy Apostles and bestowed upon the Church this pious and holy tradition of venerating the icons of Christ and His Saints??

Secondly, have you firmly believed that the early church had a devotion to mary??

If yes, we can procced to your first question, because if you Don't really believe these minor and clear empirical facts, i don't think you will believe what i and other Catholics have to say concerning your first question.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Mary Omnipresent (everywhere At Thesame Time)? by damerry(m):
@ op. let me give you what i have.

Concerning the use of images, few images we have now in catholicism date back to the times of the apostles e.g. Saint Luke author of Luke's gospel. He was a painter and made famous images of Madonna and child Jesus.

E.g. Image of Our lady of perpetual help.

Concerning the early church having a devotion to Mary I'll love to give you this 3rd century prayer

We fly to thy patronage O Holy Mother of God, despise not our prayers in our necessities, but ever deliver us from all dangers, O Glorious and Blessed Virgin. Amen. (AD250)

apart from the holy mass which Christ himself was the first to celebrate during the last supper, most other devotions, teachings, doctrines and dogmas came about as the church continued to grow through out ages by the inspiration of the Holy spirit.

E.g. The definition of the 7 sacraments of the church as we have it today took 10 centuries before it was fully compiled, because the church had to counter all heresies before presenting it as non-error.

Even the creeds took alot of years before it was fully compiled as different heresies were been dealt with.

In conclusion, Rome was not built in a day, even at this present age Jesus continues to call people to himself by introducing pious devotion through visionaries.

Go and do a fair-minded research bro. Peace smiley

If my testimony does not grace this thread then my love for our dear mother Mary worths questioning.

After being found wanting in my o'level results for 2 sittings i became really dejected and gloomy, nevertheless i began the 54 day rosary novena when awaiting results for the last o'level exam i wrote.

To God be the glory it was very much successful, i made it all, the most important aspect was the fact that i received signal graces when going to the cyber to check my results, i started seeing placards and church crusades posters that read FEAR NOT in as much as these seemed to be ordinary posters, the conveyed a message i needed most and later events proved it to be true I WAS SUCCESSFUL.

Another sign that proved that my rosary novena had far-reaching effects was the fact that 97% of my mates whom i wrote the exam with were all found wanting in various subjects.
From then to eternity I've resolved that it will always be and remain
ALL TO JESUS THROUGH MARY OUR MOTHER.
Christianity EtcRe: Not By Works, But By Grace by damerry(m):
damilarelr: In conclusion: stop having more faith in the disobedience of Adam....than in the obedience of Jesus!

'For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; ....MUCH MORE...they that receive the 'abundance of Grace' and of the GIFT of righteousness shall reign in life by ONE, Jesus Christ'! (Rom 5:17)

If you are saved; you are saved, ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! (Heb 10:10, 14)

Can you take this TRUTH!!!

Nobody goes to hell because he SINNED!!! (1cor 3:15)

If people go to hell because they 'sin'.....then.... everyone (including your pastor) goes straight into hell...for everyone is a 'SINNER'!!!

People don't go to hell because they sinned....but....people go to hell because they REJECTED THE PAYMENT for their sins!!! (Rom 3:23-26)

The payment is called JESUS!!!

'...and thou shall call His name JESUS:...for He shall SAVE His people...FROM THEIR SINS'! (Matt 1:21)

Hallelujah!
In my own opinion i think this is rather misleading.
Does it mean if i believe in Jesus and go about commiting sins i will no be condemned?
It's more like a licence and safeguard to commit sins.

Sal C: In return you were among those whose contribution I love to read and one of the people who inspired me alongside Chukwudi44 and Lady (really missed her since I finally registered). Uben, I've always looked upon as a father. Got to know Syncan when I registered.

Now Damerry and others whose names I didn't mention, also inspired me much.
God bless us and the church at large.
Thanks,
I'm still a boy, when i grow up, I'll love to be like italo, syncan and all other Catholics in this forum who are more versed in our Doctrines.

I have ineptly handled confrontations in my threads, i answer critics like a kid in catechism class, at some point i referred oppressors to go and meet and the pope cheesy.

Anyway I'll never give up, I'll kip learning until I reach the summit, then I'll start hitting these critics with Hot spot-on answers enough to make dem wish for a ban smiley
All Catholics on this forum have been an inspiration to us all, your likes, blessings, threads and encouragement has far-reaching effects on the Faith of someone, somewhere.

Sal C: The humility of our blessed mother even now keeps me astonished. Kneeling behind the priest during consecration, her explanation is a challenge to us the pilgrim church.

Don't ignore little kind gestures.
seconded!
Our priests posess more grace than we can ever imagine, their consecrated hands are not ordinary.
Another part that moves me most is the fact that at every mass Christ crucifixion is made present (not crucified again and again) but we are taken back in time to his ONE sacrifice on the cross as he pleads, FATHER FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY NO NOT WHAT THEY DO.
It was also interesting to learn that during consecration, Christ is the::
1. Priest
2. Altar
3. Sacrifice
verily verily, we must prepare ourselves worthy of celebrating these sacred mysteries.

[quoteauthor=Sen.tempest]@Damerry please need u to teach me how to pray the
chaplet of divine mercy[/quote]ok,

start by making the sign of the cross

then you say
1 our father
1 hail Mary
1 apostles creed

then, on the our father beads ( of the rosary) say these words

" eternal Father, i offer you the body and blood, soul and divinity of
thy most beloved son and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, in atonement
for our sins and the sins of the whole world "

on the hail Mary beads say these words

" for the sake of his sorrowful passion have mercy on us and the whole
world "

in conclusion say these words three times

" Holy God, Holy mighty One, Holy immortal One, Have mercy on us and on
the whole world "

finally say this

"Jesus i trust in you"

that's it brother, you're good to Go
Christianity EtcRe: Meditations On The Mysteries Of The Holy Rosary (joyful And Luminous) by damerry(op):
I guess many protestants must have been shocked to know that the Holy rosary is not all about saying the "hail mary" but praying with meditations on Each mysteries which is scriptural

from my candid observation, critics, after reading these meditations did not longer refer to the rosary as *demonic* ( because no demonic prayer will recomend you to meditate on the scriptures and apply them in your day to day life) or call it idolatry,
however, they (critics) only came here to claim that we worship her and other critics believe that she is dead and long gone, anyway, it's good they did blurt out that opinion as everyone is entitled to his or hers, but i'd love to make a few points clear for the umpteenth time

1. We don't worship Mary, we honour her.

2. Devotions to Mary leads us to Christ

3. The rosary is the most powerful weapon and prayer that ranks after the Holy mass.

4. Our Mother Mary is alive (not dead and gone as a brother opined ^^^) and she hears and interceeds on our behalf

It's no gainsay, it's real and practical, to be frank with y'all, part of what made me advocate this thread is a favour granted to Me by God through the intercession of the most blessed virgin Mary when i prayed the 54 day rosary novena.

In as much as we do blurt out our opinions on secular matters we should be circumspect when it comes to spirituality

peace brethren, once again
Happy feast day of our lady queen of the most holy rosary.

The 15th minutes is meant for a start for those who Don't have time to give even a minute to God in prayer, if they learn to start with 15 minutes, time will gradually becomes less significant as the Spirit leads.
