Celebrities › 'Death Has Come': Rachael Bland Has Cancer, Has Days To Live by damiloladuke(op): 6:08pm On Sep 03, 2018
BBC news presenter Rachael Bland has revealed she only has days left to live having been diagnosed with cancer in 2016.

The journalist, who has been at the BBC for more than 15 years, has been widely praised for the You Me and The Big C podcast following her breast cancer treatment.

But in a statement on Twitter Monday afternoon, she wrote:

"In the words of the legendary Frank S - I’m afraid the time has come my friends. And suddenly. I’m told I’ve only got days.

"It’s very surreal. Thank you so much for all the support I’ve received. Debs and Lozz will continue with the You Me and The Big C podcast. Au revoir my friends."

Cardiff-born Rachael Bland, who lives in Cheshire, was told in May of this year that her cancer was incurable and said her hopes rested with a clinical trial.

But two months on, a scan revealed her cancer had spread further.

Former BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Richard Bacon was among those to send their support to Bland on social media.

He tweeted:

"Days. Devastating. Rachael I know saying I'm thinking of you (and our magnificent time together on air, especially all that late night fun) doesn't change anything.

"But I am and I'm so very sorry. Your podcast has helped change the way people talk about all this. You're wonderful."

Presenter and four-time Olympic rowing champion Matthew Pinsent posted:

"Bravery, professionalism, humour in one tweet."

Education › Chinese Nursery School Hires Sexy Pole Dancers To Welcome Kids Back To School by damiloladuke(op): 5:04pm On Sep 03, 2018
A nursery school director has been sacked after young children were welcomed on the first day of school by scantily-clad pole dancers.

Horrified parents watched as young women took turns spinning around the pole like strippers in front of hundreds of students.

The now jobless director, Lai Rong, explained in a lengthy apology that the routine was meant to provide some "atmosphere" for the parents and kids.

But education officials said the performance was inappropriate and dismissed her from her role.

A viral video showing one woman's routine at the Xinshahui Kindergarten in China has gone viral online, with more than five million views.

The dancers used a pole flying the People's Republic of China flag for their inappropriate routine.

The incredible scenes played out on Monday as the nursery school welcomed new and returning pupils for the new school year in the city of Shenzhen.

In the statement, Lai admitted the decision to include a pole dance show for more than 100 parents and nearly 500 kids between the ages of three and six was "not well thought out".

She also noted that, besides pole dancing, other performances included traditional Chinese dance - in which she took part - and a jazz concert.

Lai apologised for the embarrassing incident, saying she welcomed the parents' supervision on future matters.

However, Bao'an district education officials announced shortly after that the director was dismissed for her role in the inappropriate commencement-day events.

Celebrities › My Love For Basketball Is Strong, But My Height Won’t Let Me Play - Aki by damiloladuke(op): 4:42am On Sep 02, 2018
Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, aka Aki, in an interview with Kore Ogidan, has opened up on his love for basketball, but his height is a limiting factor that will not let him play out his passion for the game.

In the interview, the actor also opened up about his career and other related matters

What kind of childhood did you have?

I had the typical childhood that every other kid had. I played with my mates, did normal activities that kids around me did. I grew up with my grandmother and she gave me the opportunity to mix with other kids around me. I did things like going into the bush where I hunted animals. I enjoyed every moment of my childhood as it was a lot of fun.

Comparing me then to now, my childhood affected my life in a positive manner. I do some things now and I get inspiration from my childhood experiences and the life I had as a child. I don’t think I can do just anything without taking a cue from my childhood.

How grown do you feel on the inside in spite of your height?

I have a very high IQ and it has nothing to do with my height. Regardless of how I look, I am very clever and good at whatever it is that I set out to do. I really enjoy being who I am.

Did you ever secretly wonder who had the upper hand between you and Pawpaw?

I never thought of that; I do my job and he does his. We are both different individuals who work together by bringing our own different qualities to the table. We’ve always and still have a very good relationship both on the job and in other areas. He’s my buddy and it’s always great to work together.

What’s a typical day like for you?

I like to relax at home with my family when I am not working. Since I love watching television, I watch a lot of movies and documentaries when I have a day off from work. I also like playing video games –PlayStation. I invite my friends over, sometimes, and we play games and hang out. I’m a happy person and I love to see people happy. That’s the kind of energy I like around me. Life has no duplicate.

What’s your favourite sport and what sport can you play?

I love sports and my favourite is football. I’m a huge football fan and a supporter of Arsenal FC and Enyimba FC. My dad played football and I can play football as well. I actually enjoy playing football, and when I’m not playing on the field, I’m playing it in video games. I have a football academy called Cityfut Escola.

I also have a love for basketball but unfortunately, my height won’t let me play; however, I watch it a lot. I used to support the Celtics but I’m currently a Cleveland fan because of LeBron James.

What was your experience when you realised that you had become famous?

My first experience of fame felt like I was dreaming. People began to acknowledge me by pointing at me wherever I went. I got that reaction a lot and it increased daily. It was nice but it deprived me of my private life and the things I’d generally enjoy with my friends. At some point, I was actually a bit frightened and started to think of if I was always going to have my life in the public eye. Nevertheless, I’m in it already and I’m fine with it.

Do you sometimes secretly feel like running away from the spotlight or you no longer care about the effects of being a celebrity?

Honestly, I’ve grown to see my life as a popular figure as part of my being. I really can’t run away from any of it – cameras, blogs and so much more. I just try to stay positive and remain true to myself. I’m careful not to pretend to be who I’m not.

The moment you begin to live above your means, you won’t only be calling for attention that is mostly negative, you’ll also begin to battle with yourself and the public. I don’t run away from my life as a celebrity; I see these activities daily. I won’t exactly say I enjoy a lot of it, especially when it’s damaging because before anything else, I’m human. But whatever form they come in, I’ll embrace them.

What was your experience when you travelled abroad for the first time?

The first time I flew in an aeroplane to America, I was in awe. I was like, “What if something happens and they tell us to go back?” Entering America, I just kept saying, “So this is the almighty America they talk about.” It was an awesome experience. If I have become the president of this country, I’ll make Nigeria to be like America.

Have you ever been involved in a road accident?

Yes, I’ve had two experiences. One was in 1999, when I was coming from Aba. I had just finished shooting my second or third movie, whose title I don’t recall now. There was a burst tyre and the car went into a ditch-separator on the expressway. This was between Okigwe and Umuahia. Some passengers were injured but I was blessed to have come out unscathed.

The second was when I was going to Enugu from Aba. I’d been driving in company with my friends who drove behind me. My driver applied the brake to change lanes, but our friends were too close to us and we hadn’t seen them, and I doubt they had seen us signal to change our lane. So the moment the driver applied the brake, they hit us from the rear. It wasn’t a pleasant experience and I don’t pray to ever have to experience another of such.

Have you ever driven a car?

I have and I can drive flawlessly. In 2003, I bought my first car and I drove myself around the hotel where I was lodged at that time. I imagine things and like to actualise what I picture in my head. Years back, I lived with my uncle and when he’ll tell me to wash his car, I’ll start it, reverse a little, move around a little and all that. Of course, he didn’t know. At a time too, his driver taught me a little driving.

What do you fear the most?

I fear poverty! I detest poverty, honestly. I don’t want to lose my current standing; rather, I want to improve daily and make more money. I also want to expand my business. Truthfully, I don’t want to ever experience poverty again and it will never come back, in fact. In all fairness, no one likes poverty.

We know you lost your brother a while ago. What does death mean to those who they leave behind?

It was a very sad moment. When you lose a loved one, it’s a very difficult place to be and nobody fills the vacuum they leave. He was not just my brother, he was my very good friend, and we were very close and I miss him.

It was hard, to be honest. Losing a dear person is very difficult, because you’ll always think of the person and you’ll always talk about the person when you’re with family or people you had mutual relations with. It’s always a moment of sober reflection whenever we think of them and for my brother, I know he’s resting in peace, wherever he is.

What’s the strength you find when you have to rush back to work when you actually need time to grief?

For me, maybe it’s because of the love and passion I have for my job and for the fact that my job is a part of me; nothing keeps me off set. There are times I’m tired or not in the mood or even grieving, but I remember the people I’m inspiring with my work and how much I love my job. I get up and get back in the game.

To be honest, it energises and motivates me to make the people happy. Even when I’m not on call, I just want to be on set; I miss being on set when I’m away. It’s the desire and urge to constantly be on set and interpret roles that actually give me the necessary push and energy to work when the body might not be willing.

“The suspect’s family members told NSCDC that they had being warning him about his dubious characters; that one day he will be arrested and face the wrath of the law,” Mr Shehu told journalists on Thursday.

The father of the victim, an okada rider, became suspicious and reported the matter to a nearest NSCDC office in the state and the suspect was lured to come with appointment letter and collect his money. “Also, while he was being investigated, two brothers, Idris Isa and Isma’il Isa, came along with two forged copies of employment letters of Nigeria Immigration Service issued to them by the suspect.

A former Ghanaian beauty queen, Hamamat Montia, has decided to tease her followers on Instagram with a video of herself having a wild party in the shower.

Hamamat is captured in a happy mood in the bathroom dancing and swinging her body back and forth and up and down to the extent that she could be seen clearly but for the blurry view of the bathroom door.

Hamamat Montia recorded this video in a bid to advertise her black soap which she says is natural and medicinal.

She is a young entrepreneur who deal in beauty products including locally manufactured soap.

Another thing that caught our attention is Hamamat’s puppy. This puppy came close to a red panty lying on the floor, smelled it, and took it and ran away with it.

The puppy’s action is quite interesting because in Ghana it is commonly believed that dogs are mostly attracted to smelly things, especially shoe and socks.

Romance › See The Sex Booths In Switzerland Where Sex Workers & Customers Meet For Sex by damiloladuke(op): 3:36pm On Aug 29, 2018
The Zurich Govt has hailed the legal sex booths where customers take their cars and 'drive-in' to meet prostitutes for sex a 'resounding success' in Switzerland.

On Sunday, the sex booths which look like garages, celebrated their fifth anniversary with Zurich government spokeswoman Nadeen Schuster telling USA Today they have been ‘effective in preventing violence against sex workers and human trafficking’.

"Since the installation of the sex booths across the city, the rate of violence against sex workers has drastically reduced and their safety is more guaranteed"

The sex booths were installed after 52 percent of Zurich citizens voted in favour of the local government spending $2million (£1,557,020) on 'sex boxes' in 2012.

The government also spends $800,000 (£623,000) each year maintaining the booths, which includes security and on-site social services and the sex workers pay taxes, have regular health checks and are healthier overall, according to the officials.

Back in 2014, the Zurich government installed 'plank beds' in booths for people who wanted to leave their cars.

Once a woman has been selected and a price has been agreed, they drive together to one of the booths and have sex.

According to the council officials, the sex booths have lowered the amount of violent attacks on sex workers as well as cut down on illegal trafficking of prostitutes.

Celebrities › Nollywood Movies Instill Negative Stereotypes Into Its Viewers - Eldee by damiloladuke(op): 6:38pm On Aug 28, 2018
Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eldee The Don in a series of tweets today, explained how Nollywood has contributed into instilling negative stereotypes into its viewers and how the moves industry has not done enough to imbibe the right culture for growth into Nigerians.

According to the rapper, Nollywood can play a huge role in connecting Nigerians through the right scripts that have the potential to change people's mentalities for good.

He wrote:

Much of modern Nigerian culture is passed on and reinforced through Nollywood storytelling and in my opinion, majority of Nollywood movies reinforce too many negative stereotypes.

I watched a lot of Nollywood this summer and the recurring themes of more than 90% of the movies unwittingly reinforce negative stereotypes. The values that perpetuate the societal decay.

I understand that movies are a reflection of society but there is a unique opportunity to change narratives with movies that we don’t seem to realize or have totally ignored over the last 2 decades.

In my humble opinion, the intentional attitude of 80’s NTA needs new representation in Nollywood. The carefully thought out storylines that deliberately encourage the inclusion of Nigeria’s ethnic & religious diversity through TV & Film.

Storylines that subliminally teach the values that we are losing rapidly today, the values that are necessary for the positive attitudes that lead to nation building, and not the opposite.

Storylines that may help the population unlearn some of the very negative attitudes that led us to where we are as a people today. We weren’t always this bad, we just stopped being intentional & allowed our population consume a lot of negative reinforcement.

The Nollywood boom was as a result of filmmaking barriers to entry being lowered and thats a great thing, but it also encouraged a lot of the unintentional but truly damaging consequences of today.

Good stories with the right values and life lessons, told at the right time in someone’s life can change their outlook, and shine a light that is bright enough to illuminate the way ahead on the map of life.

We must go back to telling deliberate stories that are intended not only for entertainment but for teaching the values that are desperately needed for the nation to change its current course.

Our stories must deliberately begin to aggressively promote fairness, hard work, integrity, honesty, respect, discipline, compassion, accountability, selflessness, empathy, responsibility, Kindness, self-awareness, resilience, self-control, independence, I could go on.

Nollywood is the one thing that connects all Nigerians besides music and football, and it has the potential to shift the mentality of the population. Our writers must become more careful with the content that we feed our people.

Politics › Lagos State PDP Chairman, Moshood Salvador Decamps To APC by damiloladuke(op): 6:30am On Aug 28, 2018
Moshood Salvador, the Lagos State PDP chairman has dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress(APC) and he said his exit marks the death of PDP in the state.

Salvador announced his defection on Monday while addressing his supporters in Lagos saying he took decision the because all his efforts to move the PDP in the state forward had been frustrated by some elements in the party.

He alleged that a former deputy national of the party, Chief Olabode George, had done everything possible to undermine the progress of the party in the state.

He said he could no longer labour in vain, adding that the national leadership of the party had done nothing to support or appreciate his efforts as PDP Chairman.

“When you have people or leadership that cannot give you encouragement to carry out your vision, you take it to another place where it will be appreciated. I am not happy that I am abandoning what I laboured for, but I have to move on with my supporters because I cannot continue to labour in vain.

Today, the chairman of PDP Board of Trustees called me on the defection and I told him to allow me consult with my people before feedback. The PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus also called me for the first time since my travails.

“He never called since I was put in jail on a cooked up murder charge; he called me today to ask why I want to defect. And I told him it is not possible for me to be in the same party with Bode George because he undermined all my efforts to reposition the party. He was doing all these things and the national leadership was allowing him, saying he is an elder. Bode George also cooked up things to put me in jail in the murder case of late Aborishade. Enough is enough. I am leaving the party with my supporters and I am taking them to APC where they would be recognised and appreciated” he said.

Salvador said he had since handed over the PDP structure to his deputy who would continue the affairs of the party. He said his exit meant that the PDP was dead in Lagos as he was moving with about 15,000 supporters, including party executive members at council and ward levels.

Salvador insisted that he was innocent in the murder case of Aborishade, saying all the things said about his involvement were all lies. He said he would stage a “show of strength” rally on Monday to show his former party that he was going to the APC with thousands of his followers.

Celebrities › I Have No Issue With MI - Former Chocolate City Artiste, Koker by damiloladuke(op): 8:16am On Aug 23, 2018
Hip hop artiste, Olayiwola Kokumo, otherwise known as Koker, has cleared the air on why he terminated his recording contract with the rapper MI Abaga-led Chocolate City label.

When it was reported recently that the musician was no longer tied to the record label, it generated mixed reactions from the public; with some saying he had personality issues with MI, while others felt he was not given much attention during his four-year stay.

In an interview with The Punch, however, Koker, through his manager, Ibrahim Bello, stated that he had a very cordial relationship with MI.

He said:

“We have a very cordial relationship. When it’s time for business we work and vice versa. We have had a lot of performances together and if you look at MI, he’s on an entirely different lane. He is the leader of the team and all he does is discover, breed talents and give them the best possible exposure he could.”

Speaking on the alleged lack of attention by the label, Koker said:

“Everyone was given at least a decent level of presence on the scene. I had solid hits back to back, which supported the efforts of the label and I knew the importance of needing to prioritise and lending my strength to the label.”

The artiste stressed that he still had a very solid relationship with the label, because the resolution reached at the end of the contract was for both parties to remain as a family.

He added that his first song, Daddy, produced after leaving his former label, was attracting a lot of attention.

Politics › Omoyele Sowore Challenges Buhari To A Debate by damiloladuke(op): 7:50am On Aug 23, 2018
Nigerian journalist and presidential aspirant, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other presidential aspirants, to a debate.

Sowore is a presidential aspirant on the platform of his newly registered African Action Congress (AAC).

He said on Wednesday on Channels Television programme “Politics Today’’ that aspirants should be bold enough to participate in debates about policies and projects they will execute if they become president.

He added that young and new presidential aspirants should also be given the audience and the opportunity to challenge older aspirants through debate.

“If want you to be more serious, you should be bringing these presidential candidates to debate us.

“Buhari should be brought out. The media should force them out of their hiding. Let them come and debate the future of Nigeria,” he said.

He argued that contrary to claims, young people have come up with alternatives to the current leaders.

“These alternatives will kick out the old guards in 2019,” Sowore declared.

He stressed that younger presidential aspirants are the viable alternative and were capable of doing much more in directing affairs of the nation.

“The alternative is here, that is what we should be debating. We should be talking about the fresh ideas that we are bringing on the table.

“In Nigeria, when we have people like us who have capacity, character, and integrity. We’ve got stamina, intellect, history, and pedigree.

“Young people are here to take their country to the next level of prosperity. We want to say goodbye to poverty, incompetence and lacklustre kind of leadership.’’

The Lagos State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ade Akinsanya, who made the appeal, said adequate personnel would be on ground to direct motorists appropriately adding that plans have been concluded to reduce possible heavy impact on road users in the state.

The three-day closure, according to Akinsanya, would enable the contractors assess the true state of the bridge after which works would commence by the end of the year or early in 2019.

Alternative routes

Politics › Buhari Hails Airport Security Men For Returning Missing Bag by damiloladuke(op): 6:22am On Aug 23, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday has commended the efforts of two airport security men at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, who returned a missing bag containing valuables, to the owner.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, quoted the President as saying this while commending the two security men.

Buhari asked Nigerians to emulate the security men, saying such conduct reflected the new Nigeria that we all desired.

He said:

“Honesty remains the best policy. We must exhibit such behaviour in whatever position we find ourselves, whether high or low.

“The security men could have chosen to behave differently, following the self-serving principle of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them.’

“But they have chosen to be examples of good, honest Nigerians. I commend their conduct to the rest of the country.”

The President urged Nigerians to bring out the best in themselves at all times, noting that with such minds, they could never be hoodwinked again by those who seek power for selfish and dubious reasons and return the country to an inglorious past.

“Nigeria will no longer be a byword for corruption and plundering of public resources. That is the path we have chosen to take, and our country will eventually get to a new shore,” Buhari said.

In a report by the Punch, a Lagos-based medical doctor, Banji Oyegbami, was said to have met a family returning from America at the airport on August 18, 2018.

In the process of loading their luggage into the car of their host, the handbag of the returnee’s wife reportedly fell, unknown to anyone.

About 90 minutes later, an officer of Halogen Securities who was on duty at the airport called the couple to come for the retrieved bag.

When the bag was eventually collected, the contents, including a handsome amount of American dollars, phone, wristwatch, and other valuables were intact.

The grateful couple offered a generous gift, but Messrs Francis Emepueaku and Achi Daniel, declined, saying they were merely doing their duties.

Meanwhile, the management of Halogen Security Company Limited has honoured the two guards for displaying honesty at their duty post.

The company’s management singled them out for honour with an early morning ceremonial parade by their colleagues on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

In his commendation speech, the Group Managing Director, Wale Olaoye, expressed deep satisfaction at the open display of integrity by the two guards. He observed that they exhibited Halogen Security’s intrinsic values.

He said,

“I stand here to convey best wishes from the management and staff of Halogen Security Company Limited to all of you.”

Properties › Decomposing Body Recovered From Abuja Collapsed Building - Photo by damiloladuke(op): 6:41am On Aug 21, 2018
A body has been found under the rubble of the Abuja collapsed building in Jabi, Abuja on Friday bringing the casualty figure to three.

The corpse of Sadiq Aliu was recovered during the ongoing evacuation of debris from the site around 10 am on Monday.

Aliu’s corpse was about being evacuated to the morgue when his relatives insisted on interring him at the cemetery in accordance with Islamic rites.

Six injured persons and one dead victim were evacuated from the site hours after the structure came down, while another worker who escaped with injuries later died of internal wounds at Gwarimpa General Hospital.

The FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Bello, had directed the rescue team to resume operation at the site following concerns that there could still be victims under the rubble.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration and the National Emergency Management Agency had on Saturday ended the rescue operation after six injured persons and one corpse were evacuated.

But relatives of the victims had protested the decision of the government, insisting that about 18 workers were still trapped under the rubble.

The Abuja collapsed building

The site engineer, Friday Alu, who was rescued on Friday, was said to be in the intensive care unit at Cedarcrest Hospital, Apo.

It was learnt that the FCT Emergency Management Agency officials were not allowed access to him when they called to know how they could be of assistance.

It was further gathered that the other four victims who sustained minor injuries had been discharged from Gwarimpa Hospital where they were taken to by relatives and friends.

Crime › Two Women Buy Day-old Twins For N1.8million In Imo - Photos by damiloladuke(op): 6:08am On Aug 21, 2018
Two women identified as Chizoba Eze and Amaka Eze, are currently in Police custody in Imo State for allegedly buying day-old twins, Emmanuel and Emmanuela, for N1.8 million in Umuahia, Abia State.

The women, who were said to be from Enugu State, were paraded on Monday by the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Enwerem, who said the suspects were intercepted on Owerri-Aba Road.

The suspects were paraded on Monday alongside six others, who also allegedly abducted and sold nine other children, Punch reports

The police spokesperson, who decried the rise in abduction of children, said there was a coordinated operation by the state command to eradicate the anomaly.

Emwerem said:

“In our ongoing onslaught against child trafficking, operatives of the command have rescued newborn twins from suspected child traffickers.

“The twins, a boy and a girl, were rescued on Owerri-Aba Road following a coordinated operation by the command.

“The suspects, who impersonated the mother of the twins, have made useful statements. We will charge them to court at the end of investigation.”

The PPRO advised parents to be mindful of those they left their children with, saying child trafficking was an absurdity.

According to Enwerem, the crackdown on child traffickers was as a result of the community policing strategies of the Inspector-General of Police in the state.

Enwerem accused the six other women that were paraded of being in the business of buying and selling of children.

He said operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state police command rescued nine children stolen from their parents and guardians in Owerri and Benin by the suspects.

He said:

“On August 15, on Douglas Road, Owerri, FSARS operatives, led by Banjoko Oluwemimo, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, acting on reliable information, arrested two suspects – Chioma Emeka (34), of Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State and Happiness Peter (22), of Iyala Ogoja LGA of Cross River State.”

He said other suspects were arrested in Imo, Edo and Lagos states, while their victims (children) were rescued.

He gave the names of the suspects asTheresa Asiegbu, Chioma Emeka, Happiness Peter, Martina Nwadike and Martha Ojimba.

The police spokesperson also gave the names of the rescued children as Somtochukwu Obiduba, Kosarachi Obiduba, Onyinyechi Okpala, Divine Anyaka, Wunmi Habeeb, Chisere Nwadike and one Ndubuisi.

Enwerem said,

“Immediately the suspects steal a child, they will change his or her name to erase suspicion. So, parents and guardians, whose children are missing, are advised to report to the Public Relations Department of the Imo State Police Command for the identification and collection of their children.

One of the suspects, Eze, said she paid N1.8m through an arrangement, called sceptic pregnancy, to have the twins.

Another suspect, Ojimba, confessed that she sold one of the babies for N300,000.

A man, whose two children were handed over to him during the parade, Mike Nkwo, said they were stolen on their way to a coaching class in 2015.

Romance › Nigerian Woman Cries Out After Being Body-shamed Over Her Stretch Marks by damiloladuke(op): 11:50am On Aug 20, 2018
A Nigerian woman identified as Monalisa has taken to her Instagram page to call out another woman who allegedly body-shamed her over her stretch marks.

The stranger invaded into her Direct Message on the photo sharing App and made her understand even personal things she believed are wrong with her.

The aggrieved lady then took to her page to show her dissatisfaction over women trying to bring down other women.

Read her post:

So I woke up to this message and the first thing I think is, what is wrong with women? First of all, even if I had a child [which I don't] so what? A few years back a comment like this would have probably had me crying and depressed but right now I am way passed there.

Most women have stretch marks with or without child birth, the only difference is I'm not offended by my stretch mark. I go to the gym, I work out and I'm healthy, my size doesn't make me unhealthy, neither does my stretch marks.

Dear women, let's learn to appreciate each other's body and be encouraging to each other because irrespective of what size you are, we all have fought insecurities at some point! Let's learn to help each other grow. "I'm not doing this to spite or shame her, it just hurts that this is coming from a woman"

Politics › Fashola Should Stop Lying Against Jonathan & Give Nigerians Power - Reno Omokri by damiloladuke(op): 11:18am On Aug 20, 2018
Popular critic, Reno Omokri has advised The Minister of Power, Babatunde Raji Fashola, to stop lying against Jonathan and instead give Nigerians power supply in adequate form.

He made the statement while reacting to a comment by Fashola where he said former President Goodluck Jonathan did not challenge the result of the 2015 elections because he had wrecked the economy and mismanaged the nation and was glad to go.

Fashola’s exact words were as follows:

“Many didn’t know what happened in detail. One of the reasons, it seems, that they did not contest the outcome of the election was perhaps because the economy was already paused. It does not matter whichever government that took over, they knew everything was down.

The foreign earning from crude oil at the international market was falling at an alarming rate. So, when the cash was no longer coming in, they felt like, ‘let them come and take it over.”

According to Reno,

'these remarks are false and only show the extent to which Fashola has fallen For the avoidance of doubt, let me factually state that Nigeria was performing better in every sphere of government on May 29, 2015, than it is doing now.

He went on to say,:

"For example, on that date, Nigeria was the number one destination for foreign direct investment in Africa as rated by the Geneva-based United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad). Today, we have deteriorated to being ranked as the 19th most attractive investment destination in Africa. Do not take my word for it. Please do Google it.

Going further, Nigeria was acclaimed by the world’s preeminent anti-corruption monitor, Transparency International, for her successes, under President Jonathan, of using technology to fight corruption, such that Nigeria made her best improvements on TI’s Corruption Perception Index moving 8 steps forward from 144 to 136.

Whereas today, under Mr Fashola’s so-called anti-corruption government, Nigeria has made her worst ever deterioration in Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index, moving backwards by 12 points from 136 to 148. Former President Jonathan probed the NNPC when allegations of corruption were levelled against that organisation. Today we read from a supervising minister that $25 billion worth of contract

Business › Ram Scarcity Hits Jigawa, Merchants Opt For Supply From Benin Republic by damiloladuke(op): 7:07pm On Aug 19, 2018
In preparation for the coming Eid-el-Kabir celebration, there have been reports of ram scarcity across the country as more Nigerians search for where to buy Sallah ram.

Some merchants have even resorted to buying from the neighbouring Benin Republic, Punch Metro reports.

The spokesman of the Ram Marketers’ Association in Jigawa State, Abba Tagurza, on Sunday attributed the scarcity to what has also contributed to the high price of rams in the market.

Tagurza told the News Agency of Nigeria in Hadejia, Jigawa State, that the high demand for rams in the market this season had increased tremendously.

He explained that besides the buyers of rams for sacrifice during Eid-el-Kabir, victims of the recent rainstorm that claimed the lives of several animals in the area were patronising the market in their numbers.

“What we witness now is competition between those who want to buy for fattening, having lost their animals to the recent disaster, and those trying to buy for sacrifice.

“Usually, we source for rams from locals as well as from our associates in Niger Republic. We are now largely left with the foreign rams, which are in low quantity.

“This situation leads to scarcity of animals in the market and, of course, you know that whenever there is scarcity, prices increase,” the spokesman said.

Tagurza said a big ram sold for less than N80,000 in 2017 now sells for between N95,000 and N100,000.

He said that medium and small rams that went for N27, 000 and N12, 000 in 2017, now costs N40,000 and N16,000 respectively.

Similarly, the spokesman said the prices of cows had also increased as a big bull that was sold at N250,000 last year is now selling at N300,000.

He said a medium bull now costs N150,000 as against N130,000 it was sold last year, while a small bull that costs between N80,000 and N90,000 was now selling at N100,000.

When approached by NAN, a buyer, Yakubu Suleiman, said he planned to buy a big ram, but could only pay for a medium one at N40,000.

Zakari Gidado, also a buyer, said he managed to buy a small ram at N16,000 because he could not afford a medium one.

Celebrities › Olamide Oloyode To Rebuild Ayefele’s Fresh FM Building, Mobilises Funds by damiloladuke(op): 6:47pm On Aug 19, 2018
A retired Judge and Deputy Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Osun State, Justice Olamide Oloyode ( retd), has started mobilising donors to assist Yinka Ayefele, in reviving his demolished Fresh FM building.

Oloyede, who was retired by the National Judicial Council for publicly criticising Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his alleged failure, said this in a statement made available to The Punch.

The retired judge, who is also the Lead Advocate, Virtues Unlimited Restorative Justice Initiative, urged Nigerians to come to the aid of the wheelchair-bound musician by assisting him to build a better structure than the one pulled down by the Oyo State Government.

The statement reads:

“Gentlemen and ladies, it has come to my attention that the building housing Fresh FM, the business of our music maestro, Yinka Ayefele, has just been demolished.

“May I respectfully request that we all come to his aide by providing the wherewithal to put up a new structure of his desire as a legacy to Nigerians’ right to freedom of expression.

“Nothing is too little, lets jointly ensure that the glory of the latter house is greater than that which was demolished.”

Photos from Becca's wedding with her Nigerian beau, Tobi Sanni Daniel, have emerged. The Ghanaian singer married her Nigerian fiance at a traditional ceremony in Accra on Saturday.

Becca, whose real name, is Rebecca Achaempong, had kept the identity of her man secret for many months. But ahead of the wedding on Saturday, it was revealed that the man to be Daniel Tobi Sanni, a Nigerian music producer who used to manage rapper, Ice prince.

Several celebrities and public figures converged on the location to celebrate Becca, who has been one of the leading musicians in Ghana in the last 10 years.

The singer had wanted to keep the wedding under wraps, but curious social media reporters, found out that something was going on and blew an alarm on it.

Actress Yvonne Nelson also did not help matters when she wrote in a social media post that she would cook jollof for Becca on her day.

The photos that have emerged from the private wedding ceremony are amateur ones that were taken with mobile phones. There seems to be a new trend at celebrity weddings where guests are not allowed to take photos with high end gadgets.

Celebrities › I Am Not Plotting To Marry Churchill, Ignore The Rumours - Rosey Meurer by damiloladuke(op): 7:22am On Aug 19, 2018
Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has debunked the rumours claiming she is plotting to marry Churchill Olakunle, Tonto Dikeh's ex- husband.

The duo have although been rumoured to be dating in the past. This they both denied and even went ahead to give the world a snippet view of their respective lovers, but this still didn't stop the spread of the gossip that Rosy Mueurer is having insidious plans to marry the business mogul.

But the actress is unfazed by the rumours. She told Sunday Scoop:

“Dr. Olakunle and I share a very sincere cordial relationship, and therefore, the strokes of baseless accusations are imperatively unnecessary.

“Nowadays, hate speech has become the regular ice that we may have to chew when we seek to gain liberation from thirst. I would categorically tell you that I admire their ignorant conception of falsity. I believe in silence as a key to the mansion of focus, regardless of the resolution of critics. I am an ambassador of Big Church Foundation, and I would do nothing to jeopardise the happiness of the President of the foundation; he is indeed a noble man.

I truly feel what he goes through because the singular reason is to drag his name through the mud with fabricated stories against his foundation and his company. The falsehood affects everyone close to him including his mum who he was accused of touching inappropriately. All these are frame ups geared towards tarnishing his image and his career. I know well about the family and no one can deny that they don’t know me.”

Asked to name something about Churchill that the rest of the world doesn’t know, Rosey said:

“He is someone who possesses a burning passion and interest in human development and global advancement. He reaches for nothing less than the best. One very spectacular thing about him is that, Churchill is soft-hearted; he would barely hurt even an ant. He is really a good man.”

Expressing satisfaction with her growth in the movie industry, Meurer said:

“I am not concerned with the pace at which I get movie roles; instead, I bother myself about the time, sacrifices and commitments I put into the roles I represent. What should matter to actors and actresses should be the creative inputs and relevance of whatever movie they feature in.

There are so many movies and several actors, but we seldom find good movies and if eventually we do find any, we always will introduce and inform others to see it. This gesture is because they find the movie interesting and not because of the prominent faces in the movie.”

Celebrities › I Didn’t Buy My University Certificate – Bbnaija Nina by damiloladuke(op): 7:07am On Aug 19, 2018
One of the most popular ex-housemates of this year's edition of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, Nina, in a new interview, has opened up about her recent graduation from school. According to her, she didn't buy her university certificate, refuting the rumour being spread in some quarters.

She also spoke about her career, life aspirations and other ex-housemates on the show

Read below:

Background

My upbringing was exciting and I didn’t lack anything. Though I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, my parents did all they could do to give my siblings and I the best. We are five children; I am the fourth child but the last girl. I have two sisters and two brothers. My mother is a businesswoman and a contractor, while my father has stopped working.

He was an engineer prior to retirement. My parents are very strict Christians. My mother, for instance, doesn’t believe in pampering children. All the times I misbehaved, she didn’t hesitate to use the cane or slap me. Till today, she doesn’t tolerate any form of indiscipline from her children.

I have always wanted to be a celebrity and a wealthy woman. I guess my dream is coming to reality.

Education

For my elementary education, I attended Wesley International Nursery and Primary School, Owerri, Imo State. I later proceeded to the Federal Government Girls College, Umuahia, Abia State. I recently finished my university education at the Imo State University, Owerri, where I studied English Language and Literary Studies.

Parental support

Inasmuch as I was brought up in a strict way, my parents have always seen me as a go-getter and they are usually surprised by the things I do despite my young age. They have always given me the freedom to do the things that I like to do.

Even though I didn’t inform them that I wanted to go for the Big Brother Naija audition, they didn’t try to stop me when I told them about it. My mother was only worried that it could affect my studies, but I assured her I would catch up once I was done with the reality show. My parents have always supported my dreams.

BBNaija

When I was selected for BBNaija 2018, I didn’t go into the house with the intention of winning; I just wanted to be among the top five. But at some point, I didn’t think I would last long in the house as I became scared and overshadowed by other housemates. Being among the last five was a big surprise to me; I think God has a hand in my feat.

Changes

A lot of things have changed about me. I have a business of my own and I am open to a lot of opportunities right now. I am known by many now and also a graduate.

Graduation

I am happy I was able to graduate with my peers despite the time I spent at BBNaija. I am aware that a lot of people think I bought my certificate, but I really worked hard when I returned to school. I spoke with my lecturers on the way forward and I was asked to retake the examinations I missed.

I had to sit for two examinations within a short period. I didn’t miss assignments and tests; I submitted all my assignments before I went for Big Brother.

Pressure

It has not been easy coping with the expectations and challenges that come with fame. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to my life before BBNaija but it is not possible. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Yes, truly I wish I could still go back to the former Nina because I don’t have my privacy any longer. I cannot even live the way I want, as people are watching me closely.

Picture theft

According to my business page handler, she collected a photo from someone and used it on my page because we had the hair. The next thing I saw was a lady accusing me of using her hair to promote my business.

I try to ignore many things and replying her was unnecessary. I only used her picture; I didn’t take her hair. I don’t need negative things in my life, which explains why I didn’t take it seriously. I have developed a thick skin to negative comments and criticisms. I am getting used to social media and its drama, though I try as much as possible to stay away from it.

Men

To be honest with you, I meet admirers every day but I don’t take them seriously. I feel they are all interested in my fame. I am just friends with people who knew me before I became famous.

Miracle

Based on past experience, I try to keep my relationship private. My relationship with Miracle is personal. I regard myself as a romantic lady;as long as I love the person.

Acid threat on Cee-C

I don’t really want to talk about their issues (Cee-C, Tobi and Alex), but I don’t have anything against any former housemate. The fact that I have decided not to say a word on their feud doesn’t mean I didn’t see it.

Current projects

We are working on our new body products; soaps, creams and others. I am currently collaborating with Tiannah’s Empire and we will announce it soon. People can call me whatever they like but I call myself a businesswoman.

Fashion

I have always loved fashion since my childhood. The way I dress depends on my mood and where I’m heading to. However, I like pink and black colours.

Relaxation

I like to swim and stay indoors with my loved ones. Whenever I am home, I like to watch movies or read books on romance and business.

Christianity Etc › Prophet Martin Kofi Danso Impregnates Church Member, After Private Jet Gift by damiloladuke(op): 4:54pm On Aug 15, 2018
A Toronto based Ghanaian pastor impregnates church member just two years after a member of his church gifted him a private jet.

The self-proclaimed “prophet” can’t keep his identity secret in the paternity case just because the publicity could damage his reputation and hurt him financially, a judge ruled Tuesday.

Ontario Superior Court Justice Fred Myers dismissed a request by Martin Kofi Danso to extend a publication ban and sealing order on a court file related to allegations that he fathered a child with former congregant Chris-Ann Bartley.

Publication bans in family court matters are typically used to protect the identities of children involved, while Danso cited the risk to his “significant commercial/financial interests” as a reason for requesting a ban.

His request also said “the matter concerns the paternity of a child which is disputed.”

Bartley’s lawyer, Theodora Oprea, told the Star after Tuesday’s hearing that a DNA test has since confirmed Danso is the father of her client’s baby boy, who is now 6 months old. The test was not directly addressed during the court hearing.

In a sworn affidavit filed with the court, Danso claimed he had never had intimate relations with Bartley. On Tuesday, Myers called that Danso’s “Bill Clinton” moment, referring to the former U.S. president’s false denial that he had sex with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

A Zimbabwean man has landed himself into trouble after sneaking into hospital ward to make love with his sick wife.

The incident occurred at The Masvingo Provincial Hospital around 3am.

The man, who is a prominent restaurant owner in the city was reported to have argued with the hospital nurses in the middle of the night and insisted he should be allowed to see his wife in the female ward.

He eventually got in and went on to have sex with his wife, in the presence of 10 other patients in the ward.

The Medical Director of the hospital, Amadeus Shamu, confirmed the incident to iHarare and said that the hospital has since instituted investigations

Shamu said:

“It was around 3am that patients who were disturbed by the noise coming from the ecstatic couple reported to the nurses that there was sex in the ward. The nurses summoned a security guard who got the man out of the ward.”

The investigation also revealed that the wife had told the nurses that her husband was abusive and she might be beaten if she refused to accept his sexual overtures.

“I could not refuse to have sex with him because I could have been beaten in the presence of patients because he is very violent,” the woman told the nurses.
