Go to your bank and apply for PTA. However, you must have a study visa and a return ticket not less than 14 days from your proposed travel date upon application. You can confirm other miscellaneous documents you might need from your bank. Chibzee2: What's the best way to source for foreign currency before travel guys |

I'd take the one on Medical Insurance. Unfortunately, you cannot use your naira card to make this payment as it exceeds the $100 monthly cap. You can get someone who uses a dorm account and use the person's card to initiate this payment or you ask someone with an international card to get it done for you. Cheers Yasiin: Hello guys,
I got an offer from Griffith College sometime last month and by this week my tuition fees should be paid in full by my sponsor's bank.
Apparently, the next logical step for me is my visa application. However, I have some questions:
- Is it too late to apply for a visa? It takes an average of 6 - 8 weeks for visa processing and my programme starts on the 20th of September.
- After skimming through this thread, it is evident that accommodation is one of the major challenges faced by every prospective student (especially those opting to study in Dublin). Staying in one of the halls of residence provided by Griffith College seems like an expensive option. Also, staying within Dublin City Center is yet another expensive option. I have looked at the map of Ireland and I found out that there are suburbs scattered around Dublin. These places are highlighted on the map attached to this post. Is it feasible to live in any of these highlighted areas and commute to school via train? Which of these options is my best bet - school accommodation, accommodation within Dublin, or highlighted suburbs?
- Can I use my naira debit card (our everyday ATM card) to pay for my medical insurance on studyandprotect.com?
- I was oblivious of the fact that the Irish Embassy requires proof of English Language proficiency and no applicant is exempted from this. Since I require one urgently, how feasible is it to prepare for and take the Duolingo English Test within 3 - 5 days? Can my naira debit card be used to pay for the test?
- Will the services of an agent make the visa application process less stressful for me?
Thanks for your anticipated answers and contributions. |

One would also be required to provide a 14 days booking reservation (covid-19 requirement). This can be done on booking.com. PS: Don't put any money on the card you'd be using to reserve your accommodation. You can always cancel for cheaper accommodation options later upon a successful visa application. Highly recommended really... clevermob: Ma'am,
I'll really suggest getting the private counsel of the ICAS team. It's paid but they can answer these questions a lot better as they've seen a lot of these sorta scenarios in the past. At least, for someone that started a thread that is these number of pages strong, one can tell the agency is legit. My thoughts.
Might not exactly be the safest getting general thoughts especially on a platform where many have more questions than answers. |

Paid in USD via TransferMate using the Form A. FX rate was N412/USD. However, you should have excess in your account for bank charges that may be deducted. Paid using WEMA bank, payment was received and confirmed by TransferMate (UCC's payment agent) in 5 working days. Philadelphia: Thanks for your response. I truly appreciate this.

Hi @ICaSNg,
If I opt to pay for the Education Bond, would a Statement of Account from where the money was paid from be needed when applying for the visa?
I'm aware that the Education Bond should be done using a domiciliary account (which we do not have), or can it be paid via Form A?
Thank you... |

Normally, prospective students should do a general RESEARCH themselves before choosing a course and school. This should be the deciding factor for anyone. What, Why and Where should be factors to consider while doing this. This simply avoids one from swaying away from their "initial" decisions. Business Analyts are more sought after in Dublin, and Ireland in general compared to the International Bussn you decided to go for at NCI. Sometimes, you need to follow your guts and also research extensively before making YOUR decisions.. Omon01: Mehn its the reviews ooo, i had to choose Intl Biz in NCI instead of the business analytics i wanted.......Simply because of the reviews i got and comment from friends in dublin on DBS. i hope i dont regret it |

Well, there are actually. DBS has a program in Information Systems, but you need to have an UG degree in IT or IS. However, I do not really know if that would rule you out, maybe @ICasNg can answer that. On the other hand, schools like UCC and NUIG have courses related to Information Management in their business schools, and do not require prior knowledge of IT, but they are quite expensive (tuition). They are conversion programs. Maybe, BA would be a better option for you as it's done in quite a number of business schools in Ireland. At the end of the day, the best decision still boils down to you. What do you want for yourself, and what best suits you. Joohan: Yeah. I did MIS as a course also in school. But I can't find schools doing MIS in Dublin or Limerick |

Hi, you don't need to be good at coding to have a career in analytics. But yes a minimal proficiency of tools such as Python/ R, SQL are required to have a career in Analytics. Otherwise, how would you play with Data? So, if you're really serious about BA, you might want to take some online courses in Python or R and SQL and see if you can cope, or not. Be open minded while doing this. makay200: Good evening guys,
Does Business Analytics involves vigorous programming? I don't really like programming
Thanks |

Since you've got a background in Business and a little knowledge of DBMS, why don't you look at something related to Management Information Systems. Read extensively on it, then if you like it, look for courses that are similar to that scope (mostly in Business schl).. Joohan: Hi everyone. I'm a graduate of Business education. Graduated with a 2.2.
After my research, I found out that there are little to no opportunities for business graduates in Ireland. So what do you suggest I do? Should I switch to IT by first going for an IT diploma or apply for a masters directly?
PS: I did some basic IT courses during my undergraduate days. I did DBMS, Data management, file management and introduction to computer.
Lastly, I have no sponsor. Can I sponsor myself by tendering my bank statement? |

@ICaSNg, kindly respond to this please.. DammyDurst: Hi guys, I have a similar issue also. On my birth certificate, I have Odili Oluwaseun Emmanuel. But just before getting into the university, I changed the Oluwaseun to Damilola and I've been maintaining that since then. Hence having, Odili Damilola Emmanuel. I was thinking I should do another birth certificate and back date it to be on a safer side, or just swear an affidavit stating that I'm the bearer of both names. Which would be best advised, please? |

A friend of mine recommended that I sign up here to get ideas on how to solve an issue bordering on some irregularities in my name as appeared on my birth certificate. At birth, my birth certificate bears CHINEDUM UKACHUKWU ABBAH. But my WAEC certificate bears a different name though similar as my name since then has been CHINEDU KINGSLEY ABAH which appears on all my certificates. The KINGSLEY is my English name so I am no longer using UKACHUKWU as its my tribal name. The issue here is that my brother that wants to sponsor me is bearing KENNEDY EMEKA ABBAH. Wouldn't this difference in surname cause issues for me? Please what can I do to solve this issue before submitting my application? |

Okay, that makes sense. Did you provide the statement of account to that particular euro account to the embassy or just the proof of payment? Also, what bank did you open your euro account with please? Chibabe4Christ: Thank you...
I had to open euro account and transfer 7045 euro because they will subtract some charges from the money so if you send 7000euro the money will not be up to 7000euro after removing some charges and that will reflect on the receipt they will give, Remember Irish embassy demands we pay 7000euro for EDUBOND. I hope I answered the question |

Congratulations mate. When applying for the Edubond, did you use a domiciliary account or the Form A? If you used the domiciliary account, did you have to provide the statement of account for that domiciliary account as well? Chibabe4Christ: Thank you very much My first application was for February intake so I submitted in October 2019. Got refused in December 2019 Appealed that same December 2019 because of covid, I didn't hear anything from them even when I sent several mail, notting from the embassy so I lost hope since they were not answering. To my greatest surprise my visa was approved 2nd week embassy was opened in July and I got my kpali in August hahhahaaa.... It can only be GOD ooooo
NOTE: For those that are appealing, if you think you are behind the scheduled time for your academic session, do not be in a hurry, you can request for a new offer letter for the next academic session from your international officer so that VO will will not capitalise on the reason that your school will soon start to deny you again. That was what I did in my own case. My initial application was for February intake but I got a new offer letter and invitation to register for September intake, appealed and got approved.
I hope this helps Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I am awaiting the reopening of our international flights and will be in Ireland when school resumes in September. My advice is to put God first and seek the counsel of experienced people on the forum. I pray that we are all favoured in the coming weeks |

Hello ma, Can statement of result be accepted in lieu certificate? Secondly, if for example an English test expires just about a month before applying for the visa, can that fly or it'd be advisable to sit for another English test? ICaSNg: The point is they certainly won't accept black and white copies and that will cost you #20000 to #40000 when you get to the VFS office. |
