TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 2:59pm On Feb 27, 2022
If I’m a visa officer, your reason for the trip is a red flag. Are you out of work in Nigeria that you are willing to sacrifice 6 months for your sister? Will your sister pay you for your service? Will you work in the US during your trip?

You’re applying for a tourist visa and you want to go and do unpaid nanny job for 6 months??

I was at the consulate last week Tuesday and I saw how they were drilling people during the interview sessions…rethink your purpose of traveling

OnizeB:
I said I was going to spend 6months cos the training my sister was going for was for 6months, n I will have to stay with her kids till she comes back
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 1:16pm On Feb 27, 2022
Yes..

OnizeB:
Please, I'm trying to fill a new form, it's just messing up, can I go to retrieve application
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 11:54am On Feb 27, 2022
Fill another DS 160 form, include these new details. You can then update the new DS160 confirmation number on the interview appointment portal…

OnizeB:
Please I need advice, my mum and I will be going for US visa interview next month, my mum has however been issued visa before and it expired last year, I want to follow her now because my sister needs me to take care of her kids and also help take my mum for follow up appointment on the surgery she did.
The main problem is this, as at last year when we filled the form Ds 160, we wrote that we will spend 6 months cos my sister will be going for Military training but since we couldn't get an earlier date, she couldn't go.
Now going for the interview, I don't intend to spend more than 2months cos I have business and a daughter to take care of.
I hope if I say I'm staying 2months, it won't contradict what I earlier stated in the forms.
Please a response will really guide me on the right thing to do
Thanks

@Kween2014 got her visa via the IW route even though she gave birth in the US. We have other sisters here that have been temporarily refused but I believe they will clear them at the interview (should they provide requisite information and explanation).

You know your circumstances better than anyone else. Decide for yourself…but with the frequent cancellation and rescheduling of physical interview dates, IW is an opportunity if you get a date.

Good luck

Not for Nigeria

I was checking incessantly…got lucky to see August 2022 and jumped at it. I got May 2022 on another date, I clicked on it but it wasn’t available…

So , keep checking

GboyegaD:
How were you able to reschedule?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 6:34pm On Feb 26, 2022
We like last minute rush in this country. The telegram group was practically begging people to join so we can collectively help each other, no one paid attention.

Now when membership is restricted, people are rushing to join.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 6:19pm On Feb 26, 2022
If you don’t get an initial refusal that requires physical interview or additional documents, then you should be done in 7 days

Planner99:
Hello,
I need your input on this please.

I need a date for interview waver appointment between now and May 2022. Please is it possible to get or I should just forget about it.
I'm working with such a tight schedule because I'll need my passport in hand by May to apply for another visa. How long do decisions for this IW usually take please? How many days later should I expect to get back my passport?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 3:51pm On Feb 26, 2022
Send a pm to @oab1 to add to to the group

Hanzat:
Thank you for your feedback @Dampops.
Yes, I have the telegram app downloaded. I am willing to check for others. Togetherness makes things work faster.
Thank you.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 2:05pm On Feb 26, 2022
You’re not doing anything wrong, just that IW dates are scarce to get. You’ll log out and check again later. The telegram group is a self-help group where people volunteer to check for dates at different times and report back to the group.

This will ensure that you have information on dates availability almost round the clock…but you must also pick a time slot to check on behalf of others…

Do you have the telegram app on your phone?

Hanzat:
Hello everyone, can someone add me to the telegram group? What is required for this? Not familiar with telegram services.
Also, I am trying to book for IW, our visa expired Feb 2021.
Completed DS-160, paid the fee, qualified for IW and submission, but unfortunately no date.
Tried a couple of times when I hear dates are available but before I login the dates are gone.
Got a message on the scheduling page, that I need to book an appointment now because am approaching the maximum number of times I can view this page.
Please any idea on what am doing wrong since there is no date to pick. What do they expect me to do.
Thanks.

There’s a huge risk of paying hundreds of thousands for a date in April only for the consulate to cancel and reschedule…

It’s a possibility

UmmZayd:
Earliest date for regular interview is December 2023. In case anyone stumble on early dates for regular interview please update here.

P.S: And I'm still wondering how "an agent" will claim he has April and May 2022 dates for sale...... like howhuh?

Thanks
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 9:09am On Feb 26, 2022
They could be “internally connected”. Even the US Consul General lent credence to the presence of “moles” within the consulate

Easy peasy(lol)…fill a new DS160 form; afterwards, log into the interview portal and click on the “update profile” menu to update your new DS160 confirmation number.

Good luck

iyaaliyah:
"Current DS-160 Requirement
All interview waiver applicants must submit a DS-160 that is no more than six months old and that is accurately reflected in the applicant’s online profile. We will not accept your visa application if you do not submit a current DS-160 with your application or if your online profile does not accurately reflect a current DS-160"

Please, people that applied for IW, how did you sync an old DS 160 form with a current one?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 4:26am On Feb 26, 2022
It’s from the embassy

cyrusmillz:
Hello house. I'm asking this on behalf of a friend. He travelled with a travel company here in Nigeria to kenya/Dubai around this time last year. After the trip they helped him package his documents and applied for a visitor's visa and he got Jan 2022 as interview date. First week on January 2022 , they sent him a message that it's been postponed to March 2022. Just today he got a message that it's been postponed to November 2022. Is it possible that the embassy keeps changing the date or the travel agency is being mischievous?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 10:02pm On Feb 25, 2022
21st was a public holiday in the US, so I’m sure they had backlogs to clear on the 22nd. Hopefully, there’ll be progress on Monday 28th…
I expect feedback from the consulate next week (inferring from the trend from last two weeks)

lily156:
It was submitted on the 22nd
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 8:25pm On Feb 25, 2022
No he/she shouldn’t be worried. Although it’s been taking 2 days for the application to move to processing stage after submission…so it’s unusual…but no cause for concern. If you call them, they will remind you that they advised 2 months…

What specific date was it submitted?

lily156:
@Dampops should a friend be worried that the status has remained at "Application received" for 4 days since submission through IW.

Hope you’ve been able to get an appointment. It’s been difficult for those that submitted last week and were refused to get interview dates

chioma76:
Thanks @Dampops I will just jejely go with my passport.

The refusals are very high...it is sad

TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 12:41pm On Feb 25, 2022
Seen…nothing was specified.

If you gave birth in the US, then prepare for documents along that line. They won’t state such in the 221g

If no childbirth, then prepare for questions around your previous visits. Use the i94 portal to be acquainted with your past visits and the duration on each occasion.

It shall be well

Well, she came here for our opinion...and it's only logical for me to be sure of what i'm talking about.

I agree with your suggestion on contacting the High Commission/UK Visa office either via phone call or the paid email service.

fkj950ax:
I don't think we need to see her visa as evidence.
She only needs to send an email to the embassy to verify the validity of the visa, quoting the visa number. She will get a feedback on the validity.
Even airlines verify visa validity.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 11:50am On Feb 25, 2022
Yes i think so.

Everyone gets the generic 221g form which specify reason(s) for the 'refusal'. I saw two ladies that came for interviews after submitting via IW earlier.

chioma76:
@Dampops Are visa priority 221g interviewed differently from others? were you given a generic 221g form when you picked your son's passport for bio-metric at the embassy
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 8:21am On Feb 25, 2022
Your question isn’t clear to me. At the point of creating her profile on the interview appointment portal, you must’ve entered her DS 160 confirmation number. That number won’t change unless you are scheduling a new appointment before you can edit it.
What do you mean by the appointment confirmation number? Can you share a screenshot (blur out some details) so we know what you are referring to?

Omooba80:
Please i need answer urgently oo. We finally got an appointment for my mum, and someone is telling me the confirmation number on the DS 160 page and appointment confirmation number has to match. Hers does not match and the system gave us this confirmation number itself. will this cause them not to collect her passport?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 5:59am On Feb 25, 2022
Show us evidence of the visa (block out personal information, of course)…

Nerobliss:
Expert in the house I need advise.

I applied for UK visit visa October 2021. I received an email Nov. A refusal letter on the 25th of November. So I just went to collect my passport. I didn't even check after getting the email. I collected the passport myself at vfs global Abuja.

Fast forward, I was just going through my passport today and I saw a stamped multiple entry clearance valid from 23 November 2021 to 23 may 2022. How is this even possible? The same shirt I used in capturing was in my passport.

How can they issue visa on my passport and send me a rejection email. Has anyone ever experienced this.

NB: I have been to the uk before. Did my masters. Left before my visa expired. That was January 2021
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 8:35pm On Feb 24, 2022
Largely because you weren’t entering the consulate proper…

EuniqueBabe:
Surprisingly we were allowed to carry phone and bag sef. I dunno why sha. But it would be better you don't carry any device to be safe.
